Text - Drop and Bounce ?

Is there a way to use the drop and bounce with a FCP clip within the text throughout the drop and bounce ? Can someone tell me how.

I can get the clip in the text in FCP but i really need to be on a white background.
If I read your post correctly, all you need to to do is improt the Motion project back into FCP and drop the whole thing onto a matte generator clip that you have set to be white.
That does not work for me. Am i missing something else here ?
Your posts are not very clear sop we're having trouble trying to figure out what to tell you to try. Which part of Cert's advice are you nat able to get to work for you? Are you sure you know how to do what he's described or is there something that is filing in the results?

Do you use Flash CS6 to follow the instructions in the classroom book? If yes, then you can find it under text drop down for an AS3 Document as shown below
If you follow the instruction in Flash CC or Flash CC2014 then you will not find this option as this is deprecated.

Copy text fields and drop down menu fields

Hi,
Using LiveCycle Designer ES, I am making a simple form with some text fields and along with some drop-down menu fields. With the resulting pdf, I need for one to be able to select the appropriate selection in the drop-down menus. Then using cntl-a to select everything and then cntl-v to copy it into a text document. This approach will only copy the text fields and not what is showing in the drop-down menu field. Is there any way to solve this problem? The end users computer has limited tools and software cannot be installed on it.

I don't really know if the text field can be selected using Ctl+a, but if that is possible how about adding extra text field that is linked to pulldown menu?
If the usage of the PDF is only for copying, then I would make a formcalc or javascript to combine all the text into one text field so that user only need to copy paste one field.

Stretching and bouncing texts

Hello all -
I am doing multimedia edits using photos, video and texts that I generate using the typewriter function in Final Cut Pro.
No matter what format I compress these projects into - HD264, MPEG4, Apple Animation, or Flash -- the texts always stretch and bounce, especially where I have put dissolves.
It was suggested to me that this may have something to do with size ratios, rather than compression issues.
Any ideas how to STOP my texts from stretching and bouncing?

Not two familiar with FCP, however, I am a video editor and motion graphics guy by trade.
Without seeing it I can only guess at a possible cause.
NTSC video uses a frame size of 720x480 using "non-square" pixels (4x3 video uses a .9 pixel aspect, and widescreen uses a 1.2 pixel aspect). Computers use square pixels. So an square pixel equivalent of NTSC video would be 720x540 or 640x480. 640x480 being a pretty common export size for computer full size video or 320x240 and 160x120 being common for web video.
Anyway, the reason this is important is that since you are mixing various different sources together you are dealing with different pixel aspect ratios...mixing pixel aspect ratios without accounting for it can stretch and distort various parts of the video.
In most cases editing software and motion graphics applications can accommodate various pixels aspects, but only if it knows what it is dealing with. Often when importing graphics you may need to tell the software that the graphic you are importing is using square or non-square pixels.
Depending on how you set up your FCP project, it also has to create pieces of video to make your text and transitions, it will be creating these using a specific pixel aspect (in NTSC video project this will be non-square). I would assume, since I've seen this on other editing software, that when dealing with two different sources using different pixel aspect ratios, the software has to pick one when creating the transitions and other things, causing those areas to stretch or seem to bounce when it goes from one area to the next.

You can receive and respond to iMessages that are sent to your iPad and iPhone from other iOS users. Make sure you have Messages, set up and turned on on your iPad. You will not be able to receive texts from non iOS devices.

Interactive boxes (e.g. google maps text box) and drop-downs from those boxes go blank white.

So for certain websites//boxes when I open them they are just blank white, or toolbars on websites will also randomly go between visible and completely white randomly as I scroll. So for example the facebook toolbar randomly goes white, when I try to check my messages//notifications it goes white, the google maps text box and all the drop downs are completely white, etc.

You can try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.

You need close and restart Firefox after toggling this setting.

Missing Format Text, Insert, and Edit Source, etc Options on Some Pages

I’m having trouble understanding why certain pages have more edit options than others. I’m new to Sharepoint Workspace 2010 and I’ve been reading/ researching for answers for 2 days now. I tried to HyperSnap in some pictures however it will not allow me
to until my account is verified and it's not sending a verification email, sorry!
Issue:
On some pages, I have the edit pencil with lots of great edit options such as Format Text, Insert and Edit Source. (This is good!)
On some pages I have no edit pencil, but when I go to Page
à Edit Page à I get few edit options, not including Format Text, Insert or Edit Source. (This is not good)
After reading other somewhat similar posts, I noticed that on the pages where I get lots of edit options, they show SitePages in the URL. Where I get few edit options, SitePages is not in the URL.
Is there a fix so that I can have the expanded edit options in all of my pages? Thank you for your help!

In SharePoint we don’t have edit page options [ribbon toolbar page edit formatting options] for all types of page for application page we cannot edit application page like site pages
again the missing edit button might be due to many causes:
Can you verify that it's not a permissions issue? Try navigating to the page in edit mode by appending to the url: your-site/Pages/YourPage.aspx?ControlMode=Edit&DisplayMode=Design
Or you can try this
your-site/Pages/YourPage.aspx? ?ToolPaneView=2
1. You can check that on some pages the ribbon is hidden by default. You need to make it visible by clicking on "Show Ribbon" on the "Site Actions" drop-down menu.
2. You haven't been doing Visual Upgrade (which actually replaces your master page with the v4.master)
3. If you have different master page and may be your master page is not 100% compatibile with SP2010, nor does it use the elements from v4.master (collaboration) or the example nightandday.master
To add the button in your page you could use the <SharePoint:PageStateActionButton id="PageStateActionButton" runat="server" Visible="false" /> (if you've seen already that would generate the button on the left side of
the ribbon)!

Strange IMAQ Error Message: "ni: A frame has been dropped and the acquisition has been canceled."

Hello,
I am getting a strange error trying to use the NI PCIe-1427 with the MATLAB image acquisition toolbox configured with continuous acquisition. After about 5 minutes of acquisition, I get the error below:
??? ni: A frame has been dropped and the acquisition has been canceled.
Does anyone have any clues as to why I am getting this error / where I can find out what causes it? I need to acquire several hours worth of data and this error completely aborts my acquisition.

Turns out that I found the problem. I had a slow memory allocation in my MATLAB code and this delay allowed too many frames to be accumulated in memory. I still do not know the source of the exact text of the error, but upon removing the slow memory allocation the error no longer occurs. I believe that it may have resulted from a buffer overrun of some sort in the underlying driver.
Given that this no longer poses a problem for me, I will not pursue it further.

Drag and Drop (and re-order) to ListBox binded to XML

Would you please help me with this scenario:
On stage, 2 listboxes and a textbox.
1.The first listbox lists all the items available, the list is grouped by 'Type' and its source is a binded XML file (read only).
2.The second listbox list all the items the user has dropped into from ListBox#1 and it should read from an XML at start-up and save to it on quitting.
3.The textbox list the details of the currently selected item in ListBox#2
My knowledge (and search on internet ) allowed me to achieve binding, grouping with an expander and perhaps the first step to drag item (to be verified)..but I'm
stucked at dropping AND re-ordering items on ListBox#2..then saving to the XML!!

Thank you very much for your reply...I've followed your advices, read the links you posted...and maked use of ObservableCollection.
So, the listbox source is a CollectionViewSource whose source is an ObservableCOllection object.
Unfortunately I'm still stucked at the drop part. (then there will be the save back to the xml file)
I think that the drag part might be right !?

Can I use photoshop text styles and photoshop actions with creative cloud photography?

I'm really confused by this subscription pricing. If I purchase the $9.99/month, do I get the full desktop app of Photoshop and Lightroom? But I see on this page Products they list something called Photoshop CC that costs twice as much. How is that different from the Creative Cloud Photography?
My main question is whether I can use photoshop text styles and photoshop actions with Creative Cloud Photography, since I just purchased a bundle that includes these and I want to be able to use them. But I'd also like to understand what comes with all of the various products and how they are different.
My other question is how is Lightroom different from Photoshop? I have a sense of what you can do in Photoshop but I don't know much about Lightroom at all.
One more question: the free trial -- is it limited in any way besides the time length? If I do that, will I get a clear idea of all that I will be able to do once I subscribe, or are the functions limited in the trial?
I tried to just send an email to Adobe to ask these questions but apparently they are not interested in responding to emails from people who are not yet paying customers, so I was directed here. Thanks very much for your help!

Bridge displays actual thumbnails of many more file types than Finder or Explorer. It also allows instant play of sound or video files more readily than the native OS file managers.
Bridge allows direct access to file metadata, to embed copyright information and keywords where appropriate (e.g., for corporate logo vector and raster files). It also displays the fonts used in an InDesign file, the swatches in an INDD or AI and the output plates (including spot color plates) they use.
When managing the assets for a design project, Bridge allows quick and simple sorting, rating and custom labeling (with color flash indications) of assets. I can rate images according to whether they are rejects, possibles, for review by client, or approved. The filters built into Bridge allow instant isolation of only the approved images or designs in a folder, only the rejects (for deletion) or only files with certain ratings, no matter how many files it contains. It recognizes aspect ratios, so if I only need a landscape or a 16:9 image in a folder of hundreds of images, I turn off the aspect ratios I don't need.
Once filtered, the remaining visible files can be selected and copied, moved, or deleted without affecting the rest of the contents of a folder.
Collections are a massively useful feature. One of my clients is a performing arts center, and in a season we turn out dozens of ads, flyers, brochures, web banners, playbills, billboards and other collateral using the same assets over and over. These assets are organized by artist and/or show on disk, but I set up each season's repeating assets as a Collection in Bridge, so that I just have to open the collection and drag and drop these assets into new INDD, AI, PSD, HTML (in Dreamweaver), FLA or AE projects without having to navigate from folder to folder picking up individual files.
Bridge's Favorites is another place I stack frequently-accessed folders, such as stock photography, backgrounds, and top-level folders for active projects.
Assets can be divided into subfolders, but a quick toggle of "Show items from subfolders" exposes all of the assets in a single view while maintaining their organization. I will typically keep AIs, PSDs, EPSs, stock photography and client images in separate subfolders within a project. When I'm ready to start pulling assets into an InDesign layout, I toggle this on and simply drag what I need into the layout.
Bridge comes with Adobe Camera Raw built in, which is many times faster than using Photoshop to adjust jpegs or tiffs for things like tonal range, white balance, cropping, spotting and sharpening, and is non-destructive.
One tremendously useful Bridge function for InDesign CS5+ users is the "Show linked files" feature, which opens all the linked files in a layout into a single view, regardless of where they are physically located. I often use this when doing alternative layouts from a client-approved mockup for a campaign, to be certain the same assets are used in each piece, or when creating a motion graphic or interactive piece for the campaign in After Effects or Flash.
The batch and image processing scripts built into Bridge automate things like creating web-ready small jpegs from multiple images, renaming large numbers of files in place or by copying to an alternative location, creating sets of PSD, png, jpeg or other file types from an assortment of image files, and so on.
Bridge is so much a part of my daily workflow that on my main workstation I have one monitor dedicated to it almost 100%. Bridge just sits open 24/7, ready for use. I would run at half speed without it, no question.

Reset Text Wrap and Object Placement defaults?

Using Pages 5.5.2 (w Yosemite).
Wondering if there's any way to set a default preference for the Text Wrap and Object Placement parameters in the Format > Arrange tab?
For example, more often than not I need to have Text Wrap set to "None", rather than "Automatic". I was at least hoping that once I'd set a particular object to "None", any new objects I created or which were dragged into that same document would inherit that same Text Wrap setting (in much the same way that any new drop shadow setting becomes the new default when applying the drop shadow effect to subsequent selections). But even THAT doesn't seem to be the case with the Text Wrap & Object Placement options -- much less being able to reset a new global preference.
Any suggestions (which still involve using Pages 5.5.2) appreciated.

just discovered a related topic: when importing images in Pages, how do I set the default object placement to "stay on page" and "no text wrap"?
But that thread ends up going in a slightly different direction, since having to create placeholder shapes, and then duplicating (+ individually repositioning) same, for almost every time I dragged an image into a Pages doc would actually be MORE work than the current annoyance of having to reset the Text Wrap setting for most new objects.
I just want a way to set a global preference for that adjustment -- or at least a preference to have all new objects start off with the same Text Wrap (and Object Placement) settings as the last ones used.
Possibility? Or Feature Request?

Photoshop text + bevel and emboss on TRANSPARENT background?

I've created my Photoshop title images with text + bevel and emboss, on a transparent background.
I've Rasterized the type and I've merged down leaving the transparent background (not flattened) then saved as .psd or .tif (with layers).
When I import into FCP I either get the text WITH bevel and emboss, on a WHITE background or text WITHOUT bevel and emboss, on a TRANSPARENT background.
Strange thing is, I've imported Photoshop images with transparent backgrounds into FCP several times before and although I can't say I've never had problems, I've always managed to work it out quite easily. Not this time, I'm baffled and seriously considering getting cross!

I have tried the Ken Stone method (thank God for that guy...) but I am loosing my drop shadow and bevel effects on the text once the file is imported in FCP.. I used the NTSC preset with Transparent background in Photoshop. What am I missing? I have looked around in this forum and can't find a clear answer!!

WMS did not transfer SO text row and data availability

I tested and saw WMS did not transfer sales order Text Row type data to Delivery and Invoice. How can I add it to Delivery note then will transfer to Invoice? I will have couple rows to match each item in each SO.
Not sure WMS will store Serial number data in their database only since I did not see the shipped Serial number information in SAP now. Is this normal for WMS software for the Text Row Type be dropped and data only stored in their database.

First, I would like to ask you what WMS stands for and what it does.
Second, are you speaking about 2 different issues:
- the text row is not copied from sales orders to deliveries and to invoices
- serial number selection not saved?
Please, give us a clear scenario that we can test and try to reproduce.

Buggy Text Gradients and Textures

I have encountered two problems that I haven't been able to solve.
1. I set a the face of some text to be a texture and it looks great in motion- however when I export the movie motion doesn't export the text- only the background drop shadow. Tried several different textures, deleting the text and doing it over again and had the same problem. Any body having the same experience or have any solutions??
2. When I was messing around with gradients- because I couldn't get a texture to work, I found that the even though I had all the text selected the gradient was only applied to some of the text. And once I deselected my text and went back to work on the gradient I got only this gray bar in the gradient section and I couldn't adjust it until I reset the parameter- sometime this even happened while I was editing the gradient initially...
I hope somebody can find a work around...

Try adding the text as a Mask (right click on the layer and Add Image Mask - apply the text to the image mask) to the texture or the gradient (-filled shape)... see if that works around your problem.

TEXT DROPPING OUT ON GOOGLE, YOUTUBE, VIMEO

I have Premiere CS3 running on a new Toshiba laptop (AMD/4GB RAM) running Windows 7. My problem... I am able to export working movies to my laptop and they work perfectly, however... when I upload to an internet video service such as Google, YouTube, or Vimeo, some of the text drops out and nothing but black space is shown. Not all the text does this; just four lines.
What might I be doing wrong with these four text lines? Hopefully this is an easy one for some of the pros out there. Many thanks for the help.

Here's some background info on the way ACROBAT used to work (remembering Adobe PDF is the core technology underneath CS applications when they export to PDF using the PDF library).
Acrobat 7 (CS2) - combining PDFs - problems with merging PDFs with subsetted fonts
Acrobat 8 (CS3) - combining PDFs - generally NO problems with merging PDFs with subsetted fonts
Acrobat 9 (CS4) - combining PDFs - generally NO problems with merging PDFs with subsetted fonts
In addition, a mixture of CS2 and CS3 PDFs (Acrobat 7 and 8) can also clash between themselves ..
Hope you can attain a baseline since mentioned, there's a lot of variable here.

Sorry to not really help here but I'd like to add that the problem extends further than Acrobat 7 (CS2) and on to the Adobe Core in older RIPS. specifically We saw this with CS3 Exported PDFs which were fine on screen in Acrobat but would drop or squish text through the RIP with a 3016 Adobe Core. (3016 effectively equals Acrobat7.) We never nailed the exact mechanisms to reproduce this behaviour but CS2 generated PDFs with subset fonts that were then combined with CS2 or CS3 and re-exported on the same page or PDF were always double-checked on plate. Our customer who was plagued by this when mixing CS2 and CS3 has fully migrated to CS3, and we're running with an APPE RIP, and havn't had one go bad since.
