Text/File Reader that will resize/reformat Text for easy reading.

I've used a couple of Text/File reader Apps; but with all of them,
you have the choice of zooming out to see enough of a page to
see an entire line of text, which is way too tiny to read, or zooming
in so that it's easy to read, but then needing to scroll back and forth
to read each line.
Is there a reader that will display text large enough to read, and
reflow/reformat the text so that it's all on the screen?

I found that Stanza does a great job reformatting most file types for reading on the iPodT. You do need the Mac OSX software for Stanza to transfer files to the iPodT so that you can read them with Stanza.
I'm happy; but I wish the answer had been easier to find!

Apple Enterprise Support is aware of this issue. They have specific instructions which attempt to remediate the issue, however, attempting on two different MBP laptops, so far has not succeeded.
The problem to be specific is - hang at login. The Filevaulted user account gets its password entered, then the "progress bar" mid screen will be seen to halt, never resuming. NVRAM resets dont necessarily cure this issue, but turning off FV2 definitely does.
We are seeing this with 10.10.2 fully Apple-SUS updated machines.
Feedback has been sent to Apple over this as well.
Im recommending:
a. turn off FV2 until such time as a Apple provided update cures it
b. consider the Sophos WDE solution if WDE is absolutely required (disclosure: I havent attempted this, not sure about its workability)

I cannot derive a file name that will let me export my Keynote file as a PDF. I understand the 31 character limit, but what other secret niceties must I observe?

Hmmmm . . . . I used to be good at this, back in the day . . . OK: I take a KN file and attempt to export as pdf for later upload to SlideShare servers, which can't take straight KN submissions anymore. I keep my file names under 31 characters, as prompted. But . . . I keep getting a NoNo that reads along these lines:
"Cannot export "table of contents" as 'table of contents'".
I've tried various fiddly things with file names but without success. I feel like the mosquito looking for the tiny tear in the screen she just knows is there somewhere! (I was three semesters into an entymology major before I got the word that my fascination with word derivations was doomed to be frustrated.)
Am I Maverick bitten or just way too old to be messing around with stuff like this?

According to your description, you might want to retrieve the string “2014_05” from the file name.
I would suggest you create a SharePoint Designer workflow and implement your logic of handling the filename.
In SharePoint Designer 2010, there are already some useful utility workflow actions which can enable users to deal with the various requirements come from the business scenarios.

Require a file dialog that will give PATH?

I am studying file management and want to incorporate a file-bean in a program. I want to use preferably a bean similar to found on windows system that will navigate to folders on your system and get the PATH to that file. What is important is the "PATH" to file or folder and not the actual navigationability. I am thinking of something similar to that found on websites where you can "upload" files or download (save) files.
I want to use a file-bean since I want to be able to integrate this bean into a larger web application.
Does any of the gurus know where I may find such a file-bean or have used such a bean in their own development?

I don't know much about beans, but if you want to get the full path of a named file, you can use the getAbsolutePath() method of the File class.

In need of a report that will list all vendors for all parts in our plant.

Can anyone tell me if there is a report in SAP that we can use to list all suppliers for a given material? We are operating in SAP ECC6.0 and need a report that will list all vendors that the company has used for a given part. Is there a standard report in SAP that pulls information from purchasing info records? Woud this be a custom report? I have tried using MCE3.
Also does anybody know of any SAP consultants that can help us create custom reports

If you expect to use a WiFi only iPad it needs a wireless network. It is customary to have your own versus using someone else's.

If you have an AirPort Extreme now, an AirPort Express could be added to your network to extend the range of the network.

You have to write a custom code for that. Use the table FUPARAREF to retrieve the parameters for a function module. Give function module name as input.

8 gigs, one per processor.
But you're not going to achieve any appreciable decrease in rendering times.
It's a topic that we see around here about one a week so you can search for RENDERING TIME or similar topics and see lots of threads.
If you want faster rendering times, you have to use a proprietary, hardware-based codec. This is NOT a good idea unless you are prepared to abandon the hardware when the project wraps since it will certainly and quickly become obsolete or orphaned when the mfr goes out of business.

How to export to a file type that will be editable on a PC in Premier Pro?

The footage is HD. I just want to export out of FCP a file that is "HD" and that can be edited on a PC in Premeire Pro.
Any ideas? This question seems to stump everyone.

I am not an editor so do not understand what the EDL does exactly but I made one and found out it is not a video file. It is just a file that retains the info of the edited footage but not the footage itself? So what about the video? How do I render that out?
I find it amazing that there are no files that FCP outputs that cannot be used in Premier Pro but so far nobody has came up with any ideas.

Changing a file type that will not open

sorry if this is a super simple question but I poked around and can't figure it out. Some time back I rented a Nikon scanner and scanned and saved a bunch of my images to my hardrive. I can see the thumbnails of said photos plain as day. When I try and open said photos in Bridge of PS5.1 it wants to open the file in conjunction with the scanner for some reason. When I click to open an image the icon box from the scanner software pops up as if it is loading then the error message box comes up to say : 'The application Nikon Scan 4 quit' unexpectedly giving the option to Ignore/Report/Relaunch - In any case - it wants to open the Tiff files I have saved through the Nikon Scan 4. I don't get it as to why that is but in any case I would imagine I just have to save as another file type? When I look to see the type of file it is : 'nikon scan Tiff file'
Because I CAN see the thumbnails in Bridge all I need to do is change the type of file but I see no way to do it as it is not currently saved as any file name suffix - the name of the file is not .jpeg or .tiff - it simply does not have any file type currently associated with them

You should also check Bridge Preferences File type association. See what the default application to open in is for the tif files. If this is Nikon change it to PS and it should work.
It might be that when having used the Nikon software there was an option to hide the extension selected.
Any way, first duplicate one file and try to add tif as Tai Lao stated in his post and try if that is working.

Function that will return fee description for a given folderrsn

Could someone help me make this function work. I am not sure how to add the else clause and when it is done how to call it. I know to call it I will need to input a folderrsn e.g 158744 and then that should show the fee description for that folder.
Reson for the function is to be used by other users instead of a select statement everytime. I will save it in a package.

this function when called using a folderrsn like 158744, it should return the fee description for that folder.

In the event that your table may have more than one record for any given value of folderrsn_in the open, fetch, close method will not suffer any difficulties, however using the select into method without adding a rownum = 1 clause to your where statement is setting the function up for sporatic failures.
Try this code instead:

How can i manage old data on my file server that as not been used for over 2 years?

I have 4 file servers and more then 50% of the data is older then 2 years
I would like to move that data to another san, slower but i would like the user to have access by shortcut on there share
Would make it faster to backup because the drive would be 50% less big and would not affect users because they would see the same thing in there share it would just be a little lomnger to open file upon need.
