Text grouping for HTC 8x

I have seen some other posts on this thread.  I received an 8X on Friday and had to return it on Monday.  I use texting to collaborate on ideas with other developers, and to carry on comments with family members.  According to HTC, Verizon specifically ordered the grouping of texts feature turned off.  An 8X at other carriers contains this feature, as does my HTC Trophy.  This is a very important feature for me.
I need a Windows phone to test program development.  The Customer Service rep made it very clear to me.  It is Verizon's policy to have the text message grouping OFF, and it WILL NOT be restored.  To do so only requires a firmware update ( done wirelessly ), but unlike every other phone they carry, Verizon will not make this available.  Not one CS could explain why, and all media inquiries on the topic have gone unanswered for the past 2+ months.
I really don't want to move to another service, but like all the other people who have shared comments on various forums on this very topic, I need a Windows phone, and I need the grouping feature.
No, there are no workarounds.   Several support people have tried.  In fact, the rep at HTC actually had both the ATT and Verizon phones in front of her, and the ATT version has it installed while Verizon does not.
I hope this clarifies all of the questions that have been asked here.  Whoever made the decision when requesting the build is not budging on this subject, and there is apparently no hope of a resolution.  The same feature was turned off in the Lumia ( though it is available on the Trophy ).
I'm really sad because I don't want to move from Verizon, and I really liked the phone, but the end result is that my business must come first.
Message was edited by: Tim S  Would Verizon like to elaborate on this situation ?

That is because Verizon offers Verizon Messages
http://products.verizonwireless.com/index.aspx?id=fnd_verizon_messages
My guess is Verizon doesn't want to be left out from popular free message apps such as WhatsApp, facebook app or other similar ones which are replacing standard text messages, so Verizon had to find a new way to make money by making their customers suffer more
There is no VM app in the Windows store but there is one in the Google play store. You can take a look at it to see how it works

  • Purchasing group for free text SC

    Hi everyone,
We have a requirement to change the purchasing group for free text & catalog SC's. We are using SRM 7.0. Normal procedure is to select the material from catalog, purchasing group is selected  & once it is approved a PO is created.
But, now the requirement is that if a user is selecting a catalog material, then the selection of purchasing group should be restricted as per the business.
And if the SC is being created from Free text, then the purchaser's selection should be restricted to very few options in drop down.
Is it possible? I was thinking if the selection of purchasers could be restricted  using BADI: BBP_PGRP_ASSIGN_BADI or BBP_PGRP_FIND BADI. But, there is no option for differentiation based on SC created using Catalog & SC's created from free text.
Can anyone please help me with this.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Bhakti

    Hi Everyone,
    Thanks for reply.
@Muthu: I explored the tables, but the only difference I could find between the catalog & free text SC materails is that the product id is missing for free text SC. Based on this I am unsure if any BADI can be used. Kindly let me know, if the BADI's can be called on this criteria.
@ Virendra: I doubt if that, that can be solution, since the product cataegory for free text cannot be fixed. It will depend on user requirement.
Pls help me to define the purcahsing groups for free text SC's.
    Thanks & Regards,

  • Create new group for texting

i am trying to create a new permanent group for texting in the future. surely an iphone 4 will create  and save a specific group of certain people to send texts too later on.. please tell me how to create and SAVE new group?? its really important i figure this out and i appreciate your time and help. thank you

The only way to create groups for messaging is by sending a message to everyone in the group, and as long as you never erase the messages from the chaat it will always appear in your conversations in the messages app. Unfortuneatly there is no way to organize contacts into groups in any iOS as of now. They will add many new group chat features in iOS8, but you will not be able to upgrade to it when it does come out because you are using an iPhone 4.

  • Authorization Group for G/L Account

    Hi,
    What?
    - I wish to restrict the 'posting' of a G/L account to be done by certain users only
    How?
    - What I have done was...
    a) From FS00, I have added a free-text (BANK) into the Authorization Group for a G/L account
    b) From PFCG, a new role was created to allow these 2 Authorization Objects, F_BKPF_BES and F_SKA1_BES
    c) 'BANK' was entered for the Authorization Group for both these 2 Authorization Objects
    d) From there, I have assigned this new role to the user that I wish to allow Posting of the G/L account
    Problem?
    - Other users still can do Posting for this G/L account
    - Any steps which I have missed out here or done wrongly?
    Thanks,
    Brandon

    Hi,
Some other roles of the users may override and cause the users to post against this GL account.
Check all the roles relevant for the restricted users.
Use SUIM t-code to find if the auth object mentioned above is included in any other role.
If it be, restrict that again.
Generally if one role as no restriction against this auth and not all, this issue tends to happen.

  • Creation of Group for Order type

    Dear All,
I have created the stage wise order
types ,now I am trying to create a group for each order
type, while doing this I maintained  text &
    no.range for the same,
but system is not creating new group,
it replaced the existing group.(OPJH )
please guide me to solve this difficulty
    Thanks in advance
    Rgds,
    Vijay Mankar

    Hi Vijay,
    1. To create a new group "F6" now type the description and the number interval. Now hit enter. New group is created
    2. You need to select the new Number Range Group by selecting the check box on the left side of the group.
    3. Place your cursor on the Order type decsription and use "F2" to select the line.
    4. Now you need to hit the "Element/Group" icon or F5 in key board to assign the order type to the number range group.
Save the changes now. Number ranges are generally not transported, so you need to do this directly in the client where it is needed.
Hope this steps will help you in understanding how this has to be done. Reward your points,
    Regards,
    Prasobh

  • Report Painter - Format group for columns in more than one section

How do have different decimals for columns in different sections.
For. e.g I have three sections
one for quantity (I do not need decimals)
two for dollars (I do not need decimals)
three for formula dollar upon quantity (I need to have two decimals)
I made format group 0 (with no decimals) for first two sections and format group 1 (with two decimals) for the last section.
4.6c does not consider format group 1 and makes every section look alike with format group 0 i.e, no decimals.
    How to overcome this?

    Anders,
I replied earlier but after reading you post several times I realized that I probably misunderstood what you want. This is what I now understand. You have several resources, each of who may work on various parts of design tasks, assembly tasks, and test
tasks. For example, let's say your resources are Joe, Bill & Tom. Joe is assigned to a design and test task, Bill is assigned to an assembly and test test task and Tom is assigned to a design task, an assembly task and a test task (Tom is very versatile).
You would like to see a report showing just the assembly tasks and the amount of work each of the three resources is assigned on those tasks.
Assuming the above is a correct interpretation, you will need to employ three processes, some VBA, grouping and filtering.
    1. First, designate a custom text field for group identification (e.g. use Task Text1 to enter "design", "assembly", or "test" for each task)
    2. In order to use grouping and filtering effectively,  you will need to translate the Task Text1 information to the Assignment Text1 field. To do that, go to the MVP website at: http://project.mvps.org/faqs.htm, and run the macro in FAQ 37.
    3. Now go to the Task Usage view and set up a group with Text1 as the first group by element and Name as the second group by element. Check the box to group assignments and not tasks. Then select "assignment" for field type of the second element
    (i.e. Name).
    4. Apply the group
    5. To show only the work hours for each resource in a specific group, autofilter on the desired group. Note, if you do not run the macro to populate the Assignment Text1 field with the Task Text1 field, the filter will yield nothing.
    Hope this helps

  • Required Text Field for automatically generated line items

    Hi Experts,
I have noticed that when additional line items is automatically generated by SAP, the line item text field becomes required for those items.  This happens regardless of the configuration made in the field status group....
For example, when posting cross company code transactions using account assignment model, the balancing entries (automatically generated by SAP) requires an input for text field.  The same scenario happened when I run F-58 in background (BDC), and there are additional line items in my entry.
Can you please share some insights on SAP's behavior.  And is it possible to turn it off?
    Thank you.

    Dear:
1st check out the configuration for text filed that whether it has been set mandatory in the following FSG
1.... Field status groups which we assign to Recon Accounts of customer--OBC4
                   2..... Posting keys---OB41
3....... Field status group for Customer account group
SPRO>> FA>> AP & AR>> Customer Acct >> Master Data >>Preparations for Creating Customer Master Data              Define Acct Groups with Screen Layout(Customers)
See if it has been set mandatory there. Revert back in case issue is not resolved.

Planning to implement multiple column(Userdatastore) text index on dummy column appended to organizations table. And write triggers on other child tables to trigger the sync for Text index.
But not sure whether we can rewrite this above sql query by replacing union into joins, not sure why developer has not done so.
Can anyone please help me in creating text index for this sql. I do not want to approach cartesian joins as these are having parent-child relationship.
    Oracle Version: 10.2.0.4
Please let me know if you need more information

1 .As text index is created in parent table on id column, can we somehow search only from particular columns(Parent or child) by using user_datastore and tags for sectioning it?
Below are the sql which i need to make use of text index
    select m.id from id_ALIAS_NAMEs an
    join organizations m on(m.id=an.id)
    where lower(ID_ALIAS_NAME)   like  'technology%' and m.id_data_provider<100;
    select M.id,ID_ALIAS_NAME,'ID_ALIAS_NAME' AS NAMETYPE
from id_alias_names an JOIN organizations m ON m.id=an.id
    where id_data_provider<100 AND coalesce(m.ID_COUNTRY_OF_DOMICILE,m.ID_COUNTRY_OF_INCORPORATION)='US'
    AND LOWER(ID_ALIAS_NAME) like LOWER('TECHNOLOGY%')
    and F_GetFirstWord(ORG_ALIAS_NAME)='TECHNOLOGY'
The text index must be created on a text column, not a numeric id column. It is common to create it on a dummy column. You can name that column anything you like instead of dummy, like search_columns or some such thing. You can add tags in your procedure, so that your resulting virtual column is like xml data. You can then create a section group, so that you can search within each of those tags. In the example below, I used ctxsys.auto_section_group because it is the simplest to create, but you may get better performance by using another type of section group and naming each individual tag.

  • How to find suitable( existing) function group for a Function Module ?

How to find suitable( existing) function group for a Function Module to be created?
This is FM for converting amounts to text.

    Hi,
If you are not sure into which Function group your FM should go in then its advised to create a Function group of your own. Its not advised to create a function module in any other function group unless its owned by you since your FM can get deleted by others or it can get changed.
Create your own Function group. But if you want to create in an existing FG then best way is to find out the Function Group by searching for suitable existing Function module then see their function group

    its urjunt

    hi
    1) T-code VOTXN ,for the text object Customer>Sales and distribution>click the Text types-->create your 4 digit Text ID
    2) Come back to initial screen of this t-code and again selct the text object Customer-->Sales and distribution and click change. Select the text procedure and double click on the Text IDs in text procedure. Here you create a new sequence and select the 4 digit Text ID you have created initialy.
3)Asign the Text procedure which you have selected in step2 and double click onText procedure assignment .Here you assign the Text ID to the Customer Accout group.
    4) In the customer master, sales area tab>Extras menu>text,Select the text which you have created now and enter text into it. and save.
The text which you have created now ,can be used for multiple purpose(Ex.sales order, delivery, billing, pricing, inforecords, legal). for example in this case, You just want to display this text during sales order processing, then proceed as follows,
5)T-code VOTXN ,for the text object Sales document>Header>click the Text types-->create your 4 digit Text ID.
    6) Come back to initial screen of this t-code and again selct the text object Sales document-->Header and click change. Select the access sequence and create new acces sequence(This access sequence is similar to that of in Pricing).Select this acces sequence and double click the access sequence for text ids. Here in the first column this is Serial no.second column is text object(This is the area from which text has to be refer. In our case we have created the customer Text object for sales and distribution area,so i.e.KNVV) and the next column is Text id,This is the id which we have created at customer text object for sales and distribution initialy,at step 1). The next column is partner function,it will identify for which parter this text has defined.Next 2columns are Languages(if you want to define for all langugage or specififed language),next column is for specified languge for partner function.if you have any requirement to be fulfilled you can create those requirements in the next columns or else leave blank, save and come back to text proceudure.id.
7)Select the text procedure(for ex.01-Sales header) and double click on the Text IDs in text procedure.Create new entries Fill in the sequence and the text id which we have created for sales document-header(in step 5).There is a small check box in the 3rd column which is used whether the text should be refered or copied(this is used if you want to modify the text during the sales order processing or just dispaly the originail text as it is),next column is whether the text should be displayed while creating or it is not obligatory, last column is acces s sequce, this is nothign but the sequence which we have created in step 6) and save.
8)in the final step assign the text proceudre id to the particualre sales order.

  • [svn] 3148: You can now use CSS styles to set the default text format for TextView.

    Revision: 3148
    Author: [email protected]
    Date: 2008-09-08 15:01:15 -0700 (Mon, 08 Sep 2008)
    Log Message:
You can now use CSS styles to set the default text format for TextView. It no longer has any formatting properties. It supports the entire set of Gumbo text format styles.
SkinnableComponent and Group now also support all these styles. However, skins such as ButtonSkin, TextInputSkin, and TextAreaSkin continue for now to specify instance styles on their TextBox, TextGraphic, and TextView, in order to give them a Gumbo look rather than a Halo look. So if you try setting, for example, the fontSize on the Application, it doesn't yet affect the text format of a Button, TextInput, TextArea, etc. unless you remove the instance style in the skin.

Nevermind guys - I did it using the 'rb_on.selected' command on the "on" radio button if the .txt file variable was "on", else the "off" radio button is selected.
Thanks for taking a look though!
