Text in forms and some other websites show up in a foreign language, I think it is cantonese. How do i revert back to normal?

Form data shows up in a foreign language and im not quite sure how to change it back.

This issue can be caused by an old bitmap version of the Helvetica or Geneva font or (bitmap) fonts that Firefox can't display in that size.
Firefox can't display some old bitmap fonts in a larger size and displays gibberish instead.
You can test that by zooming out (View > Zoom > Zoom Out, Ctrl -) to make the text smaller.
Uninstall (remove) all variants of that not working font to make Firefox use another font or see if you can find a True type version that doesn't show the problem.

It could be browser incompatibility or something else. When you say you can't log in, what happens? Is the bank website generating an error saying you're not using a supported browser? Does the login form for your bank account display as usual, but once you submit the form to log in it doesn't work? Give me a specific step-by-step of what you're doing, such as...
1. I load bankofamerica.com
2. I type in my login
3. When I submit, the page does nothing
Obviously that may not be your issue, but giving us details like that will help us come to a quicker conclusion.

Did you create a new profile for that 4.0 beta version?
Do you still have the regular Firefox 3.6.8 version installed?
Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems

There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins"
If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile (be careful not to copy corrupted files)

Despite my spell check being set, it does not work in Hotmail and some other websites.

I have the setting for spell check set up but it does not work on some sites like hotmail. I go to the spell check button in hotmail and it tells me that my browser will automatically check as I type but it doesn't. I've searched to override this or to get the spelling checked independently but without any luck, Any suggestions?

Not all locales come with a dictionary installed for licensing reasons.
If you do not have the en-US locale then check that you have a dictionary installed (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions).
You can see which dictionary is selected if you right-click in a text area and open the ''Languages'' submenu.
Also make sure that [[X]"Check Spelling" in the right-click context menu has a tick.
You can also try to toggle the "Check Spelling" item off and on again.

I can't view YouTube and some other website!

Since a week or so I can't view certain websites, these include YouTube, Google Translate and Google Maps. But it's not a connection error, when I type "youtube.com" in the address bar NOTHING happens, or when I click on a YouTube link which opens a new tab it doesn't even load anything, it just goes instantly blank. I even REINSTALLED Firefox 2 times and it still not works. This is driving me crazy. In Chrome everything works fine.

Try using open DNS.
System Preferences>Network>Advanced>DNS
click the + in the left side column and add the following:
208.67.222.222
208.67.220.220
Click OK, then click Apply

HELP! I cannot access yahoo/apple and some other websites

Ever since i have fixed my internet connection in the college that i attend, i have been having problems with my internet connection at home. Access to the apple and yahoo websites have been sporadical and at times just loads the hyperlinks, missing all the images. I have tried everything i can think of and have been trawling through forums to find an answer, you guessed it.. to no avail. I tried flushing the cache in terminal changing the DNS settings resembling a mac in the same house that works perfectly, creating a new airport in the system preferences, the MTU and the location. I am not a programmer so cannot tell from pings and other requests where the problem lies, but would more than gladly give anyone this information if they would be kind enough to try and solve this for me.
I am in the final few weeks of college before i graduate so i really need to access my main mail source (yahoo) between lecturers to discuss my final year projects.
Google works 95% of the time as do many other sites that i frequent, the only websites that i have noticed thus far have been yahoo apple youtube and twitter.

Well, after hours of trying to figure it out I gave up and un-installed and re-installed that last verion of Adobe Flash Player and now it seems I can play games again in Messenger. Everything else had been fine just that. I can only figure it was because it was having a hard time updating the first time and took me 3 tries. So even though it said it was installed, apparently it wasn't done correctly.
Though when I couldn't figure out what was wrong at first I looked and checked to see all the things were enabled that were supposed to be and they were.
I even tried to go to the Adobe site and download the last version I had and couldn't find it. Kept coming up with the new version. Others said if you download a particular older version it may not have all the security features in it.
This really gets to be a bit much, especially when you're by yourself and have only a smattering of knowledge of technical things.

I'm sure I will be calling AppleCare, but the problem is, they charge for the phone calls don't they? Because I don't have money to be spending to be on the phone with a support service.
In other things, it seemed like the only time my MacBook was working was when I had Snow Leopard without the 10.6.8 update download that was supposed to be done to prepare for OS X Lion.
When I look at the information of my HD it says that I have 10.6.8 but that was the install that it claimed to have failed and caused me to restart resulting in all of the repeated problems.
Also, because my computer is currently down, and I've lost all files how would that effect the use of my iPhone? Because if it doesn't get fixed by the time OS 5 is released, how would I be able to upgrade?!

I have no idea what may have caused your MacBook to stop working, but from your description it kind of sounds like it may have started before you ran Software Update and installed the new Apps. Just the general slow feeling and bugginess is what tips me off. You said that you weren't sure if you had closed all open windows, that doesn't matter if the computer restarts itself. It automatically closes all other open applications when restarting.
As to your data being retrievable, if when you take it in they do a fresh install of the OS, then no, it will not be unless you want to pay several thousand dollars to a software retrieval company.
I am glad to hear that you have taken into the Apple Store to get it fixed, and that you have all of your purchased music backed up to your iPod. You should be able to just transfer it all back to iTunes once you get your computer back should it be necessary.
As a side note, the proper place for this topic would probably in the MacBook forums, not iTunes since there is no evidence that iTunes started the issue.

For some reason, since this morning, any bookmarked or previously visited website works, and some others But new links or even pasted or typed in addresses don't. Must.figure.this.out! I don't have extra firewalls/security other than the standard mac ones and have restarted the computer and also rebooted all devices. Operation is safe mode has same results. Cleared cache and cookies.
Any ideas?

It's possible that you are having a problem with some Firefox add-on that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?
Whenever you have a problem with Firefox, whatever it is, you should make sure it's not caused by one (or more than one) of your installed add-ons, be it an extension, a theme or a plugin. To do that easily and cleanly, run Firefox in [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode safe mode] (don't forget to select ''Disable all add-ons'' when you start safe mode). What version of Pages are you referring to?
Basically if you are talking about the Table of Contents in Pages and want to have different character styles within paragraphs in the T.O.C. you will have to export the T.O.C. and bring it back in as text and change that.

My antivirus program removed all virus that I had so my computer is now virus free. So if this issue is not caused by virus, then what is it? I mean, I can access all websites I want on my smartphone with the same connection, but on the computer it just doesnt work.

What Operating System and what security software (firewall, anti-virus) do you have?
Do a malware check with several malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.
Please scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.
All these programs have free versions.
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

Photostream in the cloud only keeps photos from the last 30 days (subject to a 1,000 photo limit). When photostream syncs the photos to your device they will stay there until deleted, which means you may well have more photos in your photostream album on your device than there are in photostream in the cloud.
The consequence of this is that if you turn photostream off and on again on your device (or enable it for the first time), it will only be populated with photos from the last 30 days, which may not be all the photos that were previously in the photostream album on that device.
