Hi,
is there a way to use the entire space that allows to enter text rather than the pre-set text boxes? Any help much appreciated. THLMUC

How can I change the text in an Iphoto book I'm trying to create from Spanish to English??

In the Creative Cloud Application you can change in Preferences the App language. Then you can download and install additional the other language.
With Photoshop you can now go to Preferences > User Interface and switch between all installed and available languages.

  • Center text in photobook

how do I center text in a photobook?
    thank you

    JASCHI:
Welcome to the Apple Discussions. You have to copy the text that you've entered, past it in a text editor where you can change the alignment to center, recopy and then repast into the book text field. Be sure to check the text by creating a pdf of the book before ordering to make sure it gets rendered as you want.
    Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • Vertical text alignment in iPhoto calendar is jacked

I am creating a calendar in iPhoto '11 (9.4.2) and have added many events (birthdays, anniversaries, etc.) on individual dates. On several of these events I am unable to set the vertical alignment to the bottom of the box. I can edit the text for a calendar day and click on the button to align the text to the bottom of the box, which causes the text to align properly to the bottom of the box...until I close the box, at which point the text floats right back to the top.
    It is maddening.
I have left the calendar and came back to it, deleted all of the text in the box and tried to recreate the event (at which point the new text behaves the same way as before), and quit and restarted iPhoto several times...All to no avail.
    Ideas?

Ok. Here is a little more information. Thanks for all your patience. I have a rather small space for my table. I notice that when I make the cell size too small for what ever reason, a plus sign within a square appears. I can only guess that the program is "suggesting" I increase the size of the cell otherwise the alignment functions along with I don't know what else, will not work. I have accepted this fact and will continue to try to work around the issue by adjusting the font size along with the table size to make it work in the space allotted.
    Thanks for all your help.

  • How do I add a page (or two) of "text" to and iPhoto 6 book

I'm creating a book for my dog that passed away and would like to add a few pages of text, like a story. Non of the templates let me do this. Help please.

If your template allows you to set a page to "Introduction", you can use that for a full page of text.
OR, create your entire page in Photoshop or whatever your favorite tool is. You would add the photos and the text there, all at once and then import it into iPhoto as one large picture. (I set the pixel size to 2048x1536 and the dpi to 272 to get it to come out right.) Then, choose the full-page photo spread and move your photo there.
(I've also had success taking a "picture" of MS word docs, etc. using the SHIFT-Apple-4 keys, but you have to make sure that the proportions are right or iPhoto will "correct".

  • Text Box in iphoto books

I am trying to add a text box to my iphoto book and can't seem to figure it out beyond the small text box provided in one of the layouts. Any ideas?

You can not modify the template - the text boxes are as they are provided

  • PDF text pages in iPhoto books

I'm not sure that this is a problem. I just want reassurance before I click the ORDER BOOK button and buy the iPhoto book I have created.
I have imported PDF pages of text into the book, as I was able to get more control over the text layout that way. However, when I proof a PDF-text page, it looks more blurry and pixellated than standard, typed-on-the-page text, as if the resolution is not quite so high. It is perfectly legible, just a shade less sharp.
Is this likely to be a resolution matter with my printer, or will the text be marginally more blurry in the printed book's PDF pages, too? If blurry is the answer, is there anything I can do before ordering the book to get the text looking just as sharp on the PDF pages as on the non-PDF, direct-to-page, text?
    Many thanks in advance.

In PS under Edit->Color Settings Working Spaces set Grayscale to Dot Gain 20% and set the RGB menu to sRGB IEC61966-2.1. This is for future uses.
Now open each file in PS CS2 from withing iPhoto, go to the Image->Mode menu and select RGB. Save the changes, Command+S, and that's it. The photo will then appear normally in iPhoto.
Here's how to use Photoshop from within iPhoto:
Using Photoshop (or Photoshop Elements) as Your Editor of Choice in iPhoto.
1 - select Photoshop as your editor of choice in iPhoto's General Preference Section's under the "Edit photo:" menu.
2 - double click on the thumbnail in iPhoto to open it in Photoshop. When you're finished editing click on the Save button. If you immediately get the JPEG Options window make your selection (Baseline standard seems to be the most compatible jpeg format) and click on the OK button. Your done.
3 - however, if you get the navigation window that indicates that PS wants to save it as a PS formatted file. You'll need to either select JPEG from the menu and save (top image) or click on the desktop in the Navigation window (bottom image) and save it to the desktop for importing as a new photo.
This method will let iPhoto know that the photo has been editied and will update the thumbnail file to reflect the edit..
NOTE: With Photoshop Elements 6 the Saving File preferences should be configured: "On First Save: Save Over Current File". Also I suggest the Maximize PSD File Compatabilty be set to Always.
If you want to use both iPhoto's editing mode and PS without having to go back and forth to the Preference pane, once you've selected PS as your editor of choice, reset the Preferences back to "Open in main window". That will let you either edit in iPhoto (double click on the thumbnail) or in PS (Control-click on the thumbnail and seledt "Edit in external editor" in the Contextual menu). This way you get the best of both worlds
If you ever do any scanning of B/W photos always scan as color.

  • How do you write (large) texts in an iPhoto book?

I am making an Iphoto book and want some of the pages to be dedicated to large texts. The only problem is that when I press the text box and start writing, I can't actually see what I am writing. Then if I click away I can see the text I have written. If I click the box again, and start writing again (without being able to see anything written), I write from the beginning, not from where I finished the previous writing. Plus, I can't delete the text if I make a mistake.

If the test library worked at it should with the book text then you need to repair your original library. Try the following:
1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
2 - Run Option #4, Rebuild Database, followed by Option #1 if needed.

  • All text in PDF iphoto books displays 1 or more inches lower than it should

    Hi all
Im having a bit of trouble with my iPhoto books. Regardless of the theme when I turn the book into a pdf the text displays at least 1 inch lower that it should. It looks ok in iPhoto but is rendered incorrectly when saved as a pdf. Which means i can not get them printed.
I presume some setting is wrong but I cant work out what it is.
    thanks
    Steve

    1) it depends on what kind of placeholder it is, title or body.
    2) incorrect. You can make your slide master and then save as a theme.
3)incorrect. You may need to make the item a placeholder in the document tab of the inspector.
    4) it is easier and if you're coming from PPT it taks a little getting used to. The only thing i prefer PPT to Keynote for is the master slides (in PPT 2007).
    5) If I'm reading this right there is an option to make "default" for master. Sorry I can't check i don't have my Mac with me.

  • Non editable text slides in iPhoto 11? (v9.4.2)

I can't seem to add second or subsequent text slides to an iPhoto slideshow. It's not that the button doesn't work. It creates the slide in the correct sequence location however I'm unable to edit the text from the default 'Subtitle Text Here' - Is this a bug?

Yes, I can select all of the text or just a portion of it. When I highlight the text and then start typing to edit ithe text then nothing happens.
I've tried changing the font, the normal copy past shortcuts, reducing the number of slides (thinking it was a memory issue), duplicating the slide (which only duplicates the background image).
Rather than waste too much time a simple work around was to simply create new 'text' slides in Photoshop and to have these appear in the slide show.
I think it must be a bug however as one of the things I just tested resolves the problem. If I disconnect the secondary Apple Thunderbolt Display and then edit the text slide viewing it on the 15-inch built in screen of the MacBookPro it works as designed. I think it's possibly related to Thunderbolt (but not related to the Apple Extended USB keyboard which is plugged into the Thunderbolt display since using the keyboard on the Mac didn't work either).
    Thanks for the help.

  • Texted photo to iPhoto?  How?

How do I send a photo that was texted to me to iPhoto on my desktop?  Cannot find this in manuals.
    Thanks!

You need to save the photo first. When looking at the photo, click the share button, select save. That saves the picture to the camera roll. Then you can import the photo to the computer as you do any photo that you take with the iPhone camera.

  • I hit vertical text in my iPhoto Book and now I can't change it back, help!!

I am creating an iPhoto Book, and wanted some vertical text, so I highlighted my text and selected "vertical". It didn't go vertical, but now any time I highlight any text I can't see it, and I can't change the setting back, nor can I find any help anywhere on this topic. Please help!!

This may have helped iTunes (it can see the iPhoto library - not sure if it could before, hadn't tested it).  iMovie still doesn't see the library though.  Instead, it sees a library on the internal disk with nothing in it -- there's actually no library there.  iMovie shows the external disk, but does not show an iPhoto library on it.
    Thanks for your reply!

  • How do you change the color of the text in an iPhoto book?

I am creating a photo book and the text seems to be gray. How can I change it to another color?

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Select the text in the book and type Command+T. That will bring up the font pane where you can click on the T box with the color square in it. Click on the color square to bring up the color wheel and select the text color you want. You can use it to change other font attributes as well.

  • How do I remove the black double font on my text slide in iphoto '11? I selected a font and font color but for some reason the font appears in black also in a double font format

Whatever font I select, it is showing up double with the second set of the font in black (I selected red - but if I select black it shows a double line of black) - kind of like seeing it blurry. I've never had this happen before. The font type shows selected as regular. Nothing I do gets rid of the blurry looking second font.
    I'm on a Mac Book Pro 15" running OS X 10.8.4 with iPhoto 11 v. 9.4.3

Are you using the "Reflections" theme in your slide show? Then the mirrored reflection is built in and you cannot remove it. It is part of the design. Pick a different theme, if you do not like this feature.

  • Where is my text in iPhoto since ios8

Where can I see my text from a iPhoto album I was creating prior to ios8 updates?
It took me 9 months to create this photobook and it is "lost"? I have migrated the photos but want the text too.
Can this be correct? Why can't I print a book I was creating?

There is no way to retrieve the book as a book, iPhoto cannot run on iOS 8.
And  there is no supported way to downgrade your iPad to iOS 7, so you could restore your book from a backup. If you have a backup from before the upgrade and can find an iPad, that has not yet been upgraded to iOS 8, you could restore your backup to that iPad, but on your current iPad it is impossible.
Send feedback to Apple, that a warning, that iPhoto will not run on iOS 8 would have been necessary before the upgrade. After upgrading it was to late, and you lost valuable data because of that.
Here is a feedback form:  Apple - iPhoto - Feedback
The Photos.app is still very limited, in what it can do. See these help texts:
