Working with FM 11 I've got a longer text written with an older FM-version with some headings and paragraphes that are not displayed. It's just free space or lines and in some cases it's underlined like misspelled words but the characters are not visible. Paragraph- and character-formats look normal (that is black text on white background) and the text is not conditional. BUT the text is displayed in the Markers-Pod, when I mark a passage and it's even possible to find words in these paragraphs searching for them. I would appreciate any hint, how to deal with this problem.

Sometimes I encounter a bug (FrameMaker 11.0.2.348) which also hides some text. I have a two-column layout with columns balanced. Usually some text is hidden at the end of the second column. When I add some empty paragraphs after the hidden text, the text appears again.
MIF washing does not help.
Luckily pages with hidden text have the Overflow property set. The bottom line of the text frame is solid. I wrote a FrameScript which checks for such pages.
I do not know, if your problem has the same cause.

You have to make changes in the print program to pick the same.
Texts are not stored in any table directly. They are stored in STXH Header texts and STXL Item texts in an encrypted formats. You have to use Function module FM READ_TEXT to read the same.
Please contact your programmer.

Safari does not display text on some sites.

I am running OSX 10.10.2 and Safari 8.03
Some sites I visit do not display text at all.
For example: This site (http://neflin.org/) looks fine in Chrome, Firefox, whatever. But in Safari, it has no text at all. See below.
Mail is having difficult with some text in html email too.
I have rebooted, reset the PRAM, deleted preferences and turned off extensions. I checked the Guest account and created a new account and in all cases the problem persists.
I have validated fonts in Font Book, restored standard fonts and looked for duplicates. Nothing.
Flash and Java are up to date.
Any thoughts?

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It won’t solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of this test is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account. Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your documents or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this behavior; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault in OS X 10.7 or later, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The "Guest User" login created by "Find My Mac" is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.

BPS Variable-Cost Element is not displaying Text

Dear Team,
We have a peculiar issue one of the BPS Variable defined for Cost Element is not displaying text in one of the Planning Layouts.
Another variable is displaying text in another layout.
Surprisingly...when I reused the old variable in the new layout it is also not displaying the text.
Am I missing something....appreciated your quick support.

Have you check the layout Lead-Column setting? Is it set to 'Key/Description'?

Text does not display in address bar or any windows I open

Text does not display when typing in address bar. When I open a window (eg Edit > Preferences) no text is displayed within that either.
Problem has persisted through Ubuntu 12.04 (possibly 11.10) to 13.04. Has also remained after re-installs, both through use of Software Centre, and through Terminal commands, and after running purge of all firefox content.
Running Firefox as root using gksu command also doesnt help.

Have finally solved,
1st checked default system fonts available using unity-tweak
Then went to ~.mozilla/firefox and found prefs.js file, deleted everything to do with fonts and families, saved and restarted.
The odd thing is how this file persisted despite removing and purging firefox.

Deine Frage ist sinnfrei, weil wichtigste Informationen zu diesem Thema fehlen. Gehe einfach zu Hilfe > Systeminformationen. Kopiere das und setze das hier rein. Dann wissen wir wenigstens, mit welcher Programmversion Du arbeitest.
Nebenbei: Ab Photoshop CC2014 und CC2014.1 (seit heute verfügbar) werden alle Air-basierten Erweiterungen entfernt, weil sie auf Flash aufbauen. Das liegt daran, dass überall wo Flash verwendet wird und ein Programm von Grund auf neu entwickelt wird (wie eben diese Photoshop-Version) Elemente aus dem User Interface entfernt werden. Bis ein adäquater Ersatz gefunden sein wird, wird dann eben auf diese Funktionen verzichtet, weil Adobe kein Flash in den Programmen mehr haben will. Andere Programme werden dieser Entscheidung folgen, Photoshop ist eben nur das erste Programm, wo das zutrifft.

Very strange, [email protected] Let's get this figured out. Make sure that SMS messages are turned on. Go to Settings>Messages>Send as SMS. Please let me know if this works.

Header and Item text details not displaying in Capital and Import PO......

Hi Abapers,
           I copied the standard PO /SMB40/MMPO_A to ZForm, and customized like changing logos,address,footer etc.., after activating the form and while print previewing the standard purchase order all details displaying including header,item,terms of payment,delivery schedule.
         But for Import and Capital PO, the header,item,terms of payment,delivery schedule,etc.., details not displaying nor printing in the form.I didnt changed or customized the above windows in the form, but the above details want to display in the form for Capital and Import PO.
         I am getting all the details for Standard PO, but not for Capital and Import PO.
Let me give some suggestions for the above issue.

I am using only one form for all the PO document types, and there is no codes with conditons blocking for Capital and Import PO's.
I am using the standard Purchase Order for this.
I checked the standard smartform, and their is no condition for blocking import and capital PO texts. The below is the code written for retrieving header text in smartform header window..,

* append texts allowed to GT_HD_TEXTS
* Head Text Part
CLEAR LS_TEXT.
LOOP AT LT_TEXTS INTO LS_TEXT.

Importing PDF to illustrator. Text does not display.

I am using Illustrator CS6 on windows 7. I created a document on Illustrator CS4 on mac osx and exported the file to a pdf. Now when I want to edit the pdf in illustrator the images and drawings display correctly, but only certain text is shown. Not any text in particular, but just random lines of text within paragraphs. The rest of the text does not show up at all. What could be the issue?

Why not open the AI file?
In any case, as Monika points out, the PDF really needs to eb created with the AI editing capability turned on. That way, AI is opening the AI data contained in the PDF, not the PDF data.

Safari will not display text

Why does Safari not display the main text section of the following web page? This happens with Safari for Mac and Windows. Obviously the site is done with a MS-compatible design tool. Is there an easy change that I can suggest to the site's webmaster or is there a 'plugin' that can be used by Safari to allow visibility?

Firefox/Camino are more forgiving for bad code and the sites works with these browsers.

Some texts do not display correctly (appear as squares)

Since I got my Z10 some of the texts everywhere else on the phone do not display properly. They appear as squares. Any help?

You would have to contact the website developers and get them to check their site on mobile devices and update the code where necessary.
Looking at the source code of that page, it looks like very old, quite convoluted and rather inefficient JavaScript that powers the menu.
There's certainly no reason why a web developer couldn't make such a menu compatible with touch screen mobile devices. Plenty of similar menus work just fine.
I guess whoever developed it hasn't checked it on modern web browsers and mobile devices for some time.

Lion text problem: Some text does not display properly in Safari and Firefox

Some text in Safari and Firefox is seriously degraded, making it useless. I changed to Firefox because Safari was displaying wrongly, but Firefox displays the same way, so it seems to be an OS problem. See image as an example:
I cannot see subtitles on BBC streamed movies, and the timing of the movies on the bottom ribbon do not display correctly.
I am using Lion 10.7.5
Is there a solution for this problem?

Unbelievable (and I still cannot believe that) - is wmode="transparent/opaque/etc" - not supported by safari ? then how do you suggest we go about transparent flash elements on web pages? why isn't it working on safari while on every other browser on earth it does?

Bold text does not display in internet browsers

I am working on editing a website for a client that I did not originally create so I am having trouble trying to figure out what the previous designer did.
I need to make certain text within paragraphs bold, which I normally do by inserting tags. However when I do this in my coding, it does not display as bold in any of my internet browsers ... IE, Firefox, Chrome, etc.
Can someone please help me with this or suggest what I may have to change in my coding?

The reason it is happening is because the element is the child of an , the is in turn the child of a tag and all of them are set to inherit the font attributes from thier parent tags. The first parent in the chain with a font setting is the <div> tag with the "left_column" class.
The "left_column" class tells all of those child tags to set their text as 14px, black, Arial due to the font:inherit.
The reset is meant to allow you to create css styles for all future tags without any default style being applied by the browser (as Rik suggests, creating the actual " strong {font-weight:bold;}" in your css would also do the trick). Since you don't specify any attributes for those tags other than "inherit your font styling from your parent", they take their attributes from the first parent element with an attribute.

Saving .pdf file into .jpeg - not displaying text boxes
