Text item print in report???

Hi all
I have a problem in Report 6i
I created a report there is many field and text item
there is any possibility that if any field is empty related text item not print just like field.
suppose:
Text item data
Name........:- abc
Father Name.:-
any possibility if field father name empty, text "Father Name.:-" doesnt print in report.

Meaning fails to generate correct code for text item in designer reports

I have a text item in a report which is a table column governed by a domain. When the display type is set to TEXT and the Show Meaning property is set to MEANING ONLY - the code generation fails as follows:

Your concerns about renaming the new release 4 libraries to ofg*65.pll are understandable, but it is exactly what you have to do. The only customizations we made to the ofg* libraries in Headstart 6i are workarounds for Designer bugs that were present when we wrote Headstart 6i (at that time we used Designer release 2). These bugs have been fixed by now, so it is safe to use the Release 4 versions and get rid of the ones that shipped with Headstart 6i.
We recommend still renaming them to ofg*65.pll, for an explanation see the Headstart User guide or the Headstart Installation Guide.

Insert hyperlink into Text Item

I'm looking to create a footer text item for all reports that has a link that will launch an email to the BI team. I was able to find some javascript that I can use to launch Outlook but I can only get it to work with a button item or link item. I can't seem to figure out how to insert it into a Text Item.
What I want is:
"If you have any question please contact BI Team"
where BI Team is the link.

for example: you want to open the link on clicking on "BI Team" so write a code in WAD like this

I have text item which repets for every round,if i have 3 or 4 rounds i should number the text item as 1,2,3,4 etc.... in a report.

Text printing in reports

Hi Experts,
    I am putting some text in the text tab of the Purchase order Transaction ME21N. When I am taking Script for that Purchase order that text is coming in the printing.But my problem is that same text I captured into Reports.Suppose if I wrote the report that Text also need to come in the report.
      Please suggest me how to do..

For this u can use READ TEXT Function module...
U just need to pass Object Id,
                             Name,
                             Language etc details....and this function module fetches the text...
But if the Text is not maintaine it will give u an ERROR saying text is not maintained....

Report - Formatting text IN text items

I'm trying to create a report with (at the end of the report) a text field extracted from the (Oracle) database.
A user creates the value of the field, with a sort of HTML formatting on the text (to make text in BOLD is used and , for ITALIC and and to UNDERLINE...).
If I generate the report in HTML format everything is OK, but in PDF format I've got the tags written with the text.
This mean that instead of having:
"Hello World"
I've got
"Hello World"
Is there a way to let Oracle Report display a text item with some words in BOLD (ITALIC, etc) and some others not?
I've tryed the "Contains HTML Tag" without any result, I'm currently using 6i, but I can switch to 9i.
Any help or suggestion is greatly appreciated.

You have to put the > character at the beginning of a line.
Alternatively, you can use this HTML to set off text as a blockquote without the background:
<blockquote style="margin-left: 50px;">Quoted text goes here</blockquote>
Which will render your text like this:
Quoted text goes here
You can add your own background color like this:
<blockquote style="background:lightblue; border:1px solid black; padding:3px; margin-left: 50px;">Quoted text goes here</blockquote>
Where 'lightblue' can be replaced with any CSS or HTML color name.
This will render your text like this:
Quoted text goes here

Print Web report and don't print text but print frames

Hello , I am running a report by web browser, everything is ok and I can see that, now I want to print it so I put DESTYPE = printer and DESNAME =\\machine\printer then, when I print the report there is no mistakes but I dont know why I get a page without any character .. The frames print ok! all print ok but not the text, I test using diferent colors for the text but nothing .. could you help me please? this is really strange :( there is no message of error.

Also I for got .. This is the configuration :
Oracle IAS Release 1
Oracle8i Enterprise Edition Release 8.1.7.2.0 - 64bit Production
Windows 2000 Server
Report Builder 6.0.8.11.3
The printer is HP LaserJet 8000 Series PS

I have a very simple report that works fine
for example if I put this link:

then I received a message of print succesfully but when I see the print

Web printing crystal report hangs on report.PrintOptions.PrinterName

I have a report web page that displays a crystal report. I have added a modal popup to allow them to select their printers. When I go to print the report is hangs on the line of rpt.PrintOptions.PrinterName = li.Text. The printer names are added to the list box using a Java applet.
Here is the Sub it is running.

Sounds like you're trying to implement server side printing in your app. Which is fine, except the CR ActiveX print is client side printing. Just in case you're interested, the way to enable activeX print is to go to the property of the CR viewer and find "PrintMode". It will more than likely be defaulted to PDF. Change that to ActiveX.
Now, back to the issue. This may still be a matter of permissions - essentially what Adam was after. Probably the easiest way to determine that is to use the [Process Monitor|http://technet.microsoft.com/en-ca/sysinternals/bb896645.aspx] utility. Once you have the log, search it for "Access Denied" messages.

Print the report on page has width larger than height and not landscape mode

Hi,
I'm trying to print report on page (Width: 18cm, Height: 13cm) which the width larger than the height.
The problem is windows keeps changing the page oreintation to landscape and when I change it back to portrait its changing the width to 13cm and height to 18cm.
I'm using dot matrix printer to print the report, if i put Landscape , printer is printing the text in horizontal.
Already i have tried to setup the custom for on printer, and used custom page size but it is changing to landscape.
I need to print the report with out preview, direct print top printer, NO PDF....

After testing the issue in my environment, I can reproduce it. When I set (Width: 18cm, Height: 13cm) as the Report Page size, it would automatically convert Orientation from Portrait to Landscape. Because the Orientation displayed is dependent on the page
width and page height of the report.
But in my scenario, the Orientation option just change the Width and Height sizes, it couldn’t affect the text rotation. I guess this issue can be caused by the printer and printer driver, please try to update them. Reference:

I allow users to download reports using the Interactive Reports Region.
If you use that method then you can insert a title at the top of the report by populating the Report Region > Print Attributes (TAB) > Page Header
Note: This is available when using APEX coupled with Oracle Business Intelligence Publisher. It does not work with "CSV" output.

I haven't really done much enhancements on MAM 2.5, but Im sure sami will let you know where to add the code, or you can review the MAM enhancement guide on the CD.
In regards to printing the PIOS API is pretty simple. If you are using a laptop to print to a normal printer then you can just use the Win32 Drivers..(installed via driver addon from web sap console.)If you are using the handheld you will need to find the appropriate drivers.

This should give you an idea, you should also read through the MDK documentation for the printer API (PIOS). Its quite easy to pick up and as long as you have the driver and connector installed it prints right away.(You could also use the Peripheral emulator in
NWDS to test the code first)

Print Crystal Report directly from C# without using Report Viewer

Hello All,
I need to print a crystal report directly to the printer without using ReportViewer in C#. I've a CrystalReport2(belowCode) which requires a query (Select * from JobHeader where JobNumber='J012345') to display all the data. I'm stuck with database connection
and putting all the data to DataAdapter in C# (Below Code). I also have 8 subreports in my CrystalReport2. Can somebody please give me hand on this? I'm struggling with it. Thanks.
