Text jumps to top in chat box

Hello all,
1st time post to forums so please redirect if in wrong field.
After last update of flash 10.1.82.76, the game that i play has a chat screen and as soon as it fills it jumps straight to the 1st line of text. It would normally continue on with what was typed next and continue to auto-scroll down.
I have spoken to another user who is using win7 (not sure bit type) and browser was chrome.
I am using win7 64 bit and ie8, so it appears win7 is the common denominator.
I do have an xp pc but i choose not to try the update until i came here 1st

Ok my bad on 64 bit, but there was another user on at the time I was playing the game (web based game I didn't mention before) and he too was having the problem and he was using chrome as I said in previous post. So that was happenning in 2 different browsers.
I do appreciate your response though.
In the meantime I have unistalled version 10.1 and installed 9 and everything is back to normal

Lync 2013, text does not display in chat box. Windows 7 pc with dual monitors.

Has anyone experienced an issue with Lync 2013 where when someone sends a chat the text doesn't display in the chat box. Or on occasion when initiating a chat, the text typed in doesn't display? The person experiencing this
behavior has dual monitors and often times when she is working on a document - then goes to Lync and initiates a chat and types, the words do not display in the chat box. Her graphics drivers are current, (8.15.10.2869). At one point she was able to drag the
chat box over to the monitor on the left and then the text displayed. Since then she has received a brand new laptop, windows 7 and the Lync behavior continues but now her dragging the chat box to other monitor no longer resolve text display issue. Ideas?

Please update to the latest version for Lync client 2013 and then test again.

How can I type into a text window on top of a box?

Hi gang. When I create a box (for example, a sidebar b/g) then create a text box on top of it, I can't type into that box unless I drag it off to the side, away from the b/g box (or layer, since we're not talking Quark) as the text just hops over to the b/g layer. Is there something I need to check or uncheck? It's driving me crazy. TIA

OK, I think I see what's going on. Use the Text tool to make the text frame, not the Rectangle tool. Becasue the rectanlge has no fill, and is not expecting text by default, when you click inside it you are really clicking in the filled background frame.
Of course, ther'e generally no reason to put a text frame on top of a native rectangle object like this you could just use the yellow frame, add some insets to position the text where you want it, and forget about the second frame on top.

I can highlight copy and paste from other web screens with no problem.
The chat window however doesn't give access to the lines that have scrolled past the window so highlighting the text won't work. Other chat windows grab the entire text when the user clicks on the copy link or icon.
I just installed firefox and haven't tried other chat windows to see if the problem could be repeated.

Use the keyboard if the buttons on the web page aren't working.

Make text box text start at top of box, not centered vertically

It seems all my text boxes i have start the text in the center of the box vertically, then spaces it out as you type more. is there a way to make it start at the top of the box and work down, just as if you were typing in Word or Notepad. if someone only types a few lines, it looks kinda odd having the text in the middle of the box with all that white space above and below it.

You can set the vertical alignment of the caption and value (and both) for an object in the Paragraph tab - works just like Word.

Chat Box Not Opening, Incoming Messages Not Popping Up, Computer Poessessed

I'm having a little problem as the title describes. One night I went to sleep and I woke up and I was unable to chat. I double click on any avaiable name and no chat box opens up. I go to file and new chat or new chat with person, still no box. Also incoming chat messages do not show up as well. Is my computer poessessed or is it just me? Thanks for the help.

I can thinks of several scenarios when this might happen.
When Text and Video chatting I am often moving different windows around the screen.
If this includes my web browser I move the TExt chat on top of the Buddy List.
If I demonstrate the Multichat features then the Buddy list gets pulled to the front to get the Apple test accounts visible.
This tends to hide the Text chat.
I then get what you get in that I hear the sound but see no window as the iChat apple IS the front APP just the windows are out of Order.
This add-on http://www.ksuther.com/chax/ has the ability to set any window to float in front of the others.
Install it and restart iChat
Start a Text Chat (Even if you don't send anything)
Go to iChat Window.
Use the Always On Top option.
You can do the same to the Buddy List or a Video chat (If you do it to all you get the same problem as I described, again)
I join a Saturday Night chat and I often let this slip if I am testing and I have seen 20 on my iChat icon before now.
Even more so if I have several people texting for a test.

Jump To Record in Combo Box and Poplist

Hello,
I have created a demo Form to show how to create a Jump-to feature for Combo Boxes and Poplists. In the combo box the user enters a character and it automatically jumps to the first entry starting with that character. With the poplist, the user enters text in a text box and it jumps to that entry in the poplist. Please add your email if you want me to send you a demo.
If anyone knows how to clear the text highlighting in a field (the opposite of Select_all) let me know. I can't find a workable solution (aside from using PJCs which we haven't figured out how to do yet).

Why won't the text show on top of a rectangle?

When I use the rectangle frame tool to make a box and then put a text box on top it doesn't let the text show.
This first picture is of my text box off the side, and then the yellow box I'm trying to put the text on top of, the second picture is what it shows me when I try to do that. It will show the text anywhere as long as it's not on top of a box and I can't figure out why or how to change it.

Select your rectangle and turn off the Text Wrap

Select your text box and set it to Ignore Text Wrap

in your preferences, set Text Wrap Affects Only Items Beneath. (not sure of the wording, but that's the jist.)

How do I make text sit on top of an image without it disappearing.

I am currently copying and pasting images with captions from quark express files to indesign cs6 files.
Everytime I copy and paste these images the captions which are on top of the image disappear behind
the image. How do I put the text back on top of the image? and in general how do you put text on top
of an image without it disappearing?

This is probably a really bad workflow that will end up biting you. I've not actually been able to copy a an image box from Quark and paste it into ID to test, so I don't know waht youare doing, exactly, but odds are you are not pasting a link to the image (doe sit show a link in ID's Links panel?). A sudden problem using chat when talking withh AT&T Tech Supprt. They spent 90 minutes checking the problem & it all came Down to Fixfox. When trying to chat with them the CHAT BOX blinks off

A problem recently developed using Firefox. When I now try to Chat with AT&T Tech Support about my internet, the CHAT BOX blinks on & off every second. It used to work fine but now it doesn't.
AT&T Tech Support just spent 93 minutes on the phone controlling my computer by remote & every thing pointed to Firefox. It does work fine with all other browsers, too.
AT&T suggested a new auto update for Windows 7 might not be compatible with Firefox. Is there any way to fix this problem?
I'm using Firefox 4.0.1 because Firefox 5 isn't compatible with 2 Tool Bars I need for some very important websites that I can't be without. Firefox said they're working on the problem & I'll upgrade when they've fixed it. But for now, I need this problem fixed.

Don't expect support here. Nokia does not bother to pay a tech or two to support the people who have bought the 920. Not really a point to these forums.
Anyways, i have huge bt issues as well. Cannot connect or see my jawbone. In truck with pioneer nav system (it is illegal here to use a phone without handsfree in vehicle) it links, but when i make a call or receive a call it shows the phone off the receiver icon so it knows call in progress, but i either get no sound from the caller... at all, or i get a robotic mess i cannot decipher. when i cannot hear anything, people can hear me, but when i hear robotic, people can hear me but with distortion. However, when it reads a text message, the phone voice is fine through the system. Because i have to turn bt off then to use phone, i have to return this handset and just go back to android.
Have also had this drop calls a few times now as reception is probably the worst i have seen in a decade... even drops in downtown core. Battery life poor because i assume its always struggling for a signal.

Is there any way to get my top sliding dialog box to resemble this one here?

On this site, their top sliding dialog box can be hidden. I was wondering if I can re create this in Muse? I basically want to put a button at the top of the slide that they can hide it if they want. Also to create the slideshow in my dialog box I am currently just using a basic slideshow and then fitting in the dialog box I created. Now for the images this works fine but then I add text and a click here button. Once I add the text and button they do not slide with the image. They stay on each slide. Is there a way to fix this?

Transparent im chat box

I have one person in my buddy list that I am having a problem with. His IM chat box is transparent. It never appears, the reason I say it's transparent is because when I look at all my programs that are open, it will show his name and when I click on it, nothing happens. here is a screen shot of what I mean. file:///Users/sarahhicks/Desktop/Screen%20shot%202011-04-21%20at%203.00.06%20PM .png
Also, ichat notifies me when this specific buddy sends me an IM but I cannot read it.

Can you do this ?
Go to the Finder (Click anywhere on the Desktop to show the Finder as the Front App.)
Then go to the View Menu and use Clean Up. This should unstack all those icons that are on top of one another.
Now with no Finder window open chose the Show View Options from the same menu.
In the panel that shows up adjust the Grid pattern size to cope with the files names you have (Some may be long and need wider spacing)
Tick the Icon view and this may reveal more about the item in Question.
Use the Arrange By drop down to Snap to Grid (You can use another View/ordering option after that)
Next, highlight the item again like it is in the Pic (It looks like a file rather than a Chat)
Once highlighted, use the Apple Key(CMD) and I keys together (Get Info from the File Menu).
This should provide some info in a panel that pops up.
Your other files look like you have set to Show File suffixes, (.png, .jpg and so on) in th Finder's Preferences > Advanced > Show all Extensions. (These can also be individually set in the Get Info Panel)
This one item as far as I can see from your Pic does not do that, although the stacked group of icons nearby is not clear on that.
Is the File a .iChat file ?
If so can you open iChat and go to the Preferences.
In the Messages section is the named place to store Saved Transcripts the Desktop ?
If this is the case we have two issues.
1) Why isn't the chat opening properly (Or in fact closing very quickly)
2) Why is the Saved Transcript not getting an iChat Doc icon like it should.
However the lack of Date info suggests it is not a Saved Transcript.
It also does not look like a distorted window from iChat either.
Even if the names shows and it is a file it should be a double clickable item.
Does it Open ?
What appears ?
In iChat's Window Menu at the bottom of the List should be any Preferences Pane choise that is Open (Like "Accounts") And the name of any Chat window that is open.
If you attempt to recreate this does it list a chat as being Open ?

Jabber Client chat box input Chinese

Hi all,
     I'm facing a problem with my Jabber client for Windows 8.1, the problem is that I can not input chinese in my chat box, but can use in other field like search or change Nick name.
     I have try to reinstall the Jabber client, or upgrade the Jabber Client from 9.2 to 9.6, but the problem still not fixed, and I test this two version on Windows 7, there's no problem like on Windows 8.1.
     BTW, I can copy the Chinese code from Notepad or other place, it can shown in chat box and can send it successfully.
     Is there anybody know why and how to resolve it?
