Text Loss

When I m using a 3D camera in motion 5 and I choose the best render quality, the text I have dissapears after I zoom in a certain amount with the camera. This will happen even when i export it. I don't know what the problem is... I'd love some help.

One of two things is happening here. Either you're zooming in so much the text is too close to the camera's plane to be seen. Just like moving a real camera in on something.
The other possility is the camera's near and far planes need to be set.

These control how close or far from the camera an object is before it disappears.

Reloaded V32 and all problems disappeared. With v33 rectangular and radio buttons either could not be seen or would not work. Strangely, this was not always the case. I was unable to complete payment transactions on eBay, but could operate eBay normally otherwise. At the beginning of this question / reporting process there is a blue box button with "Ask this Question" . That button appears only as an underscore-like symbol and will not function in V32. I had to return to V32 to be able to send this. The doubling of text appears as astigmatism, with one piece of text skewed and overlapping the other.
It would be nice to know when the bug has a solution, so that V32 can be used.
I would have reported this as a bug, but it would seem that I have to have yet another password beyond the two Mozilla PWs I have already, and one has to draw the line somewhere :]

So you have this problem in Firefox 32 and in Firefox 33?

Pages text lost thu iweb

I write in Pages, my text for iweb pages. When I need it I copy and paste to a text box. Makes since right. I see it in iweb, resize and edit. It takes me 3 tries to post, then the text from Pages is missing. In one case, the blog the placeholder text is still there. The other has a big text box but no text.
Help.
Next, How can I publish one page at a time. When iweb tries to publish a lot of data it often fails and a page is incomplete. But it will not upload missing data, let you republish.

Did you did have double sided pages selected for each of those themes? The page limit for books is 50 physical pages so not having that option selected and having 90 or so pages may be a contributing factor to the text loss.

While compiling a large book, 90 or so pages, I keep losing a lot of text. I tried two different design, but both seem to forget text. When all the text is finished, I quit the program, and the next day all the work has been in vain.

Pages loses formatting and text when converting from docx or doc

I receive .docx or .doc documents that I need to convert to a PDF. However, I frequently lose both formatting and text when I open the document in Pages. I don't understand how to fix the problem. I have tried copying/pasting the text into a new Pages document, but nothing changes.
Also, I have heard there is a freeware program out there that some Apple users use that retains the formatting, but I don't know the name.
Any ideas are greatly appreciated. I have to use a PC in the meantime.

Like Yvan earlier, I must confess some surprise at Pages losing text content of a Word document on translation. Formatting, yet.
The only circumstance where text loss seems at all likely is if the text was contained in a Text Frame. Even then, I would expect the frame to be converted to a Text Box, and the contents retained in the Pages document.
Meantime, I would recommend you try OpenOffice.org or NeoOffice, either of which will open .doc and .docx files, and will save to either of those formats as well. The links will take you directly to the sites for these applications.
Regarding the long download times: a 24 hour estimate would indicate you are on a dialup connection, or getting only dialup speeds. Most public libraries and a large number of coffee houses here in Canada offer free wireless hot spots that provide a high speed connection. If that's also true in Colorado, you might find it more efficient to take your MacBook to one of them for a shorter download time.

Poor rendering of text of epub file

The actual text of the epub appears to be a zoomed in version of a jpeg file of the text - loss of edge clarity and distortion. However, the context menus appear sharp and fine. This should not be happening. This problem remains, and becomes more obvious, if I increase the font size.

Selected iPhoto 6 technical notes (NO Library merging abilities)

A query on iPhoto 6 SOMETIMES displays up to 250 tech notes for the release on Apple's support site. Sometimes it shows nothing. I suspect their servers are still updating. These caught me eye.

I am beginning to think that Apple considers "library merge" to be a hard cutoff between iPhoto and Aperture. If you need to manipulate multiple Libraries, you need Aperture. Absurd. I have no other explanation for why this is not supported however.

the problem by quitting iPhoto, trash the file,
~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.iPhoto.plist.
I have just encountered the same problem after printing a large number of photos (not pdfs) with no probs iphoto print or print preview suddenly started coming up with the same message when using an Epson Photo R210 printer. Unfortunately I do not have the ...iphoto.plist file in the location suggested even though other .plist files exist for other applications. Any ideas? My problem occurred when I staretd using the 4X6 print size. Nothing I change fixes it though.

How to Convert a Hard Cover Book already created to a soft cover book

We created a hard cover book, not realizing we needed to select hard cover vs. soft book before creating. When we went to buy the book we realized there are no options at the shopping card to make it a soft book. How can we make this a soft book without having to recreate the whole book. (It took 2 days and is 71 pages...that's a lot of "do-over..." Thanks.

just for safety duplicate the book first then select it and go to themes and select the softcover this time - it will warn about possible text loss which usually does not happen but since you have a copy you are fine even if there is an issue

Need to restore iphone 4

had problems with my iphone 4 and was in an apple store where a genius did a full reset on the phone and then as i understood restored my phone from my icloud backup.
I have found on returning home that my photostream and text/imessages do not seem have to come back in the restore
How do I go on about resetting again and restoring again from my last icloud backup? . Will this reolve the photo & text loss?

CUCM Security - Are Jitter, Latency and Packet Loss Stats in Clear Text ?

I've reviewed the Cisco Unified Communications Manager Security Guide and see no suggestion that implementing encryption prevents MoS scoring. In other words, when you implement encryption, do you still have access to jitter, latency and packet loss information in clear text?

Well.. the phones measure the statistics.
The phones then report the stats to CUCM for inclusion in the CMRs.
... as I recall this is done via SCCP.
So yes, it's clear text, unless your signalling is encrypted generally. On most clusters it's not.

Migrating Wiki loss of text

When migrating our wiki from 10.6.8 Server to Mavericks Server there is a random loss of text. It seems to be around images that are on the same line visually as the text which has a link.
My inference from looking at the problem is that the img tag is not terminated per W3C (it has no '/>' at the end of the tag). The loss occurs starting with the image and continuing to the text that is in the <a> tag (which IS properly terminated).
So to be specific as an example:
<img src=.....>
Some text with a <a href=...>link</a> inside the line.
is migrated incompletely as
link inside the line.
Note:
- No img is migrated
- The beginning of the line of text is los up to the end of the <a,,,> tag.
- The link around the text is lost
Since this appears to be hard to detect except visually with 100's of wiki pages how do I trust such a poor conversion? How do I repair this?

• What version of iMovie do You use ?        iMovie '11 9.0.4 (1634)
• Did You set up iDVD as a 16x9 project    YES
• the 16x9 size has to be set at two places in iDVD    Have done that
first when starting a brand new project
then under Project/Project info [Shift+cmd+I] - here too set 16x9
So if You can describe from what Camera was used (Video Codec) to the final DVD - step by step - we can see where the work flow differs.

Download material to iPhoto and/or iMovie - rework the pics in iPhoto but also in Adobe photoshop. It is usually the pics I have reworked in Adobe photoshop that are cut.
Then I start a new project in iMovie and add the pics and videos. When I have pics which I do not want to be cropped or with Ken Burns effect I use the setting "fit the frame" (mine is in German and says "anpassen").
I do not share to iDVD, but finalize the project in iMovie, which - after many hours - provides all sizes.
Then I open a new project in iDVD in 16:9 and insert the rendered film which is then available in medium, large, 720p and 1080p. I chose the 1080p.
Then I make an Image Copy and burn the DVD.

Flash Data Text - Format Loss With IE

I have a website that is all flash. I have a main file that
loads in the nav and then the nav loads in the designated .swf file
for each section. So there are several sections(.swf's) with lots
of text taken from a database and inserted into the swf file from
an XML file. If I click in between sections, and go back to the
original section of text the formatting is lost. This is only in
Internet Explorer 7- this does not happen in Firefox or on the Mac.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.. This seems like a major
bug.

If by loss of formatting you mean fonts then if you are not
using embedded fonts, you are depending on the OS to provide the
font and thus font rendering should be considered unpredictable -
but still I would think it would do it the same way each time.
You may need to isolate the swf and the XML loading together
in a separate HTML doc and load on the XML with a button so you can
reload to debug outside the larger app.

I used to be able to get text from a Word doc (copy it), and then go into my CS4 InDesign file and paste it into a waiting box that had a paragraph style assigned to it and boom, it would take on the assigned paragraph style of that text box. Now it brings in the style from wherever the text came from. If the font looks similar to what was there it can be too hard to tell that it's different. When you are working on a book with 200 pages and copying text from Word docs and dropping it in here and there in InDesign, it causes alot of extra work and problems.
In fact I have lost alot of security functions I used to have in CS4 in CC2014 in InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Acrobat and it is making me want to go back to CS4 in a hurry.

I actually FINALLY found the answer!!!! In the preferences area you choose Clipboard Handling and then you choose "Text Only" under When Pasting Text and Tables from Other Applications (see photo).

Loss of formatting when emailing a AW6 ASCIII Text document

Background: I have taken an .xls email file from a PC user which I was able to open with icExcel. The .xls file was set up wrong---only two columns, surname in one and all other data (street address, city, state, zip, tel., email address) in another column. I created a spreadsheet file in icExcel AWorks6 and did a lot of cutting and pasting from the original file to create a true 7 column spreadsheet. I saved it as an ASCII Text document because my intent is to email it back to the PC user.
Now the dilemma---I can take that ASCII Text document and reopen it in an AW6 spreadsheet or into a database on my computer, no problems. Everything is formatted correctly. When I email the .txt document as an attachment to myself (experimenting first before emailing it to the PC user) it opens up automatically as a word processing document with all the formatting gone. I sent it to another of my email addresses, it did not open up automatically but the attachment came across as an HTTP text unix document file. What is happening to the structure and column formatting when I email the .txt document. What am I doing wrong following putting it into ASCII Text? Help please!! CAB

When you save an AppleWorks spreadsheet as text, you get a tab delimited file.
Data in each cell is followed by a tab character, and a return character separates the rows of data.
Your text file, opened into an AppleWorks WP document, should retain the tab characters, but will not display properly unless you have set tab stops in the ruler. AppleWorks defaults to a tab stop every half inch, and a tab character will push text to the next available stop. Variable length of data will cause data that should line up in the same column to be offset.
You can check for the presence of tabs (and other invisible characters) by pressing command-; (semi colon). Pressing the same keys again toggles the display off.
Try launching AppleWorks then specifying Spreadsheet as the document type when you open it using AW's Open dialogue (File > Open).
If you are successful, then the file should be openable by the PC user, using Excel. Three other notes: Be sure you check the Send Windows friendly attachments box in Mail when attaching the file. Be sure you add the .txt extension to the file name AppleWorks does not automatically add it). Tell the Windows user that the file is a tab delimited text file.
