Text Message A Contact That Switched To Droid

I have a friend that used to have an iPhone, and iMessaging with her was great. Except that she switched to a Droid device recently and can't receive my texts now because my phone keeps sending them as an iMessage. I haven't switched to iOS 6 yet. How can I fix this?

you cannot...she can. tell her to remove her apple id from the iphone she used to have (from the imessage section). or secondly, you can send the message to her mobile number and not her email.

If you're with Verizon, here's what I found on the boards:
Dial *228, press 1 when the nice lady answers and wait until she tells you your phone has been successfully programmed.
Then hang up, and press the home key twice rapidly and delete the open/running apps that appear there - delete from that second screen, NOT from the Dock at the bottom of your home screen! You don't want to delete the programs, you just want to close the open/running apps.
Wait 5 minutes or so, then voila! Mine was fixed!

It is locked to your sisters carrier.
She would have to ask her carrier if they unlock iPhones and if she qualifies for this service.

Group Text Messages Won't Download On My Droid Razr Maxx HD

Many times my Droid Razr Maxx HD will not receive group text messages. Often, not always, when I receive a group text I get a message notification and when I look at the screen it simply says "downloading." This downloading can go on for hours. Two days ago one simple text message took 7 hours to download. This is a recent problem probably only going back 3 weeks or so. The other phones in this group text are two I Phone 5's, an I Phone 5 s and a Samsung Galaxy SIII. My phone is used for business and my inability to receive a text quickly is hurting my business. I may as well not have a cell phone. Anyone have any suggestions or ideas?

I, too, am having the same issue. I also notice the phone gets fairly warm/hot at times. This all started after the most recent update. It's highly annoying, as you all know, to see "Downloading 0kb" or "Downloading 30kb" over and over for both group texts as well as standard MMS. Having to turn off WiFi, get the messages/downloads, then re-enable it is a hassle and not one that was present prior to the update.
I've been with Verizon for a little less than 2 years but if pushing out mandatory patches to their phones causes problems like this then I would have no qualms switching to AT&T.
I like my phone and, for the most part, I've liked my service. I've Googled this issue and TONS of people are having it since the update. I hope Verizon is listening to it's customers and working on a patch of some sort.

Limit text messages to contacts only

I wish there was a way to limit incoming text messages to only people in my contact list. Anyone know of a way to do this? I'm getting more spam texts and never from the same number twice so blocking the individual phone number won't help. We already have the block on "premium" messages but they are getting past that too. I'm on an iPhone if that's relevant.

Woody15, thanks for posting. Are you still having issues with your incoming text messages? Have you enable Do Not Disturb in iOS? This feature will allow you to block calls and notifications from coming in but it will not stop the arrival of the message. You can enable it by going to settings> do not disturb(turn on)> tap notifications>do not disturb. From here you can manage your settings for the feature. Text Messaging to Contacts

So this is really odd, and not sure how to fix it. I'm super analretentive about my address book, so everything is input correctly to a T, no duplicates, etc.
When I'm viewing a text message, at the top of the screen you see the avatar followed by the person's name. When you click on that it pulls up the person's contact information in the address book. Now, for some of my text messages it does not do this for. When I click on the profile, it brings up a list of contacts and tells me to "Select A Contact". Why is this doing this, and how can I stop it?
Again, for some contacts it doesn't do this for, but for other's it does.

On mine the "Select a Contact" comes up only when the person is not saved in the address book.

How do you move text messages from contact to contact

Recently a friend of mine changed their phone number so I removed their old number and put in their new one. The text messages that I received from them before this change is now labeled as the the old number. I have 2 questions:
1. Is it possible to move text messages from that old number to this new one?
2. Can I put the old number under the contact but label it "old number"? If so, when I text in that screen again will it go to the old number or the new one?

Just my 2 cents...
1) As far as I know, those text messages are attached to THAT phone number. There is no way to assign them to another number.
2) You could certainly add the number as another number for your friend. This would atleast TITLE that thread, so you knew who the conversation was with. However, again, those texts and that THREAD is tied to that "old" phone number. Therefore, if you reply in that thread, the messages are going to be sent to the old number.
I would just recommend adding the number to the contact, so you have it labled if you forget who it was or something, but then just start a new thread with the friend?!..

IPhone 5: Can I view text messages/phone calls that I missed when service was off?

Beause my service has been off, I've been unable to recieve text messages and phone calls, but I KNOW that people have been trying to get in contact with me. Is there any way to view the messages and missed phone calls that weren't able to come through when my service was off?

Google Voice is more of an internet phone to put it simply. You get a free phone number that you can choose from any area code you want.
You can text/call right from your browser. Calls/SMS are free within the USA and Canada.
MMS is still in beta, and SMS to/from the UK is not officially supported yet, but it has been known to work.
I recommend GV to anyone as a secondary number for in-case issues with phone loss/not working properly.

Z10 reboots when opening text message or contact details

Since last week I am unable to read any text messages as the Z10 reboots everytime I try to open my text messages. Thne when I open my contact details it also either reboots or stay on a white screen. PLEASE ASSIST.

hwessels, try scrolling through your Hub, and without opening the text messages, tap and hold on the old text message threads you know to be the longest threads of all, and delete them.
Then, With your BlackBerry powered on, remove the battery for a minute and reinsert to reboot.
Now, after reboot, give your #Z10 a few minutes to complete all the data sync and attempt to open one of the new messages.

How do I delete a large text message I sent that glitches the message app?

I just recently sent a REALLY large text message to my friend, but I don't think she actually got it. Since I sent this really big text I can't open the app for messages. Well, I can but it is frozen in the convo I sent the text in and after about 3 seconds the app closes back to the home screen. In the few seconds that I can keep the app open I tried to press the back button (on the upper left hand corner), to delete the convo so that is gets rid of the message. But, like I said before, it is frozen so it won't go anywhere. Also, while the app is open for a few seconds I tried holding the large text to delete it, but again the app is frozen so will do absolutely nothing. I really don't know how to to delete the convo or message to get the app working again. Please tell me if there is any other way to get the app working again. I have thought of resetting me phone, but that would be my last resort. I have a ton of valuable information I have to keep. Thank you!

Reset the Device using this method: Hold the home button + the lock button for about 10-12 seconds until the Apple logo appears. You will not lose any data or current settings.

C2-03 TEXT MESSAGING INSERTING CONTACT PHONE NUMBE...

I'm a celphone prepaid loader so I often refer to my phonebook whenever I send a prepaid load. In other nokia phone model to paste a contact person's name or phone number in the body of the text message all you need to do is choose "insert name" or "insert number" and I can't seem to find this feature in the c2-03 model. All I can find is "insert symbol" which would only allow you to insert special characters or smileys, whereas "insert object" would allow you to add attachment. This is a very important feature as it saves time to just import the information from the phonebook instead of inputting phone number right off the keypad.

i am facing same problem... is there any another way to insert contacts in messages in c2-02 or c2-03?

Blackberry 8310: My text messages and contact log to clear off automatically

I just got my handset about 6 months ago, and lately I am having problem that my mobile automatically delete all my text messages in my mobile and it also clear off whatever new messages that came in without notification at all ie I couldn't receive any message because once the text message goes to my phone then my phone will automatically clear it. I tried to take out the batter and everything is back to normal. Once I saw the phone was showing bout out of memory error. How do I control my memory? and now it happened every alternate day which I seldom receive text. Hope I can get some solution here.

If the phone was backed up either to iCloud or iTunes on your computer BEFORE the texts were deleted, restoring the backup will restore the texts to your phone. If they were not backed up, they're gone permanently.
