Text message DELIVERY

I had a Samsung Smooth and when I sent a test message that phone would show when the text message was received by the phone sent to.
I just upgraded to the LG Cosmos and when I send a text message the information shows when sent but not when received by the number sent to.
Is there a way to set the phone to show when the message is received?

GO TO MENU, MESSAGING, NEW MESSAGE, SETTINGS (WHICH IS THE LEFT SOFT KEY), AND THEN CHOOSE DELIVERY RECEIPT

    I own a Nokia 6300 which was Made in Hungary. It came with firmware revision version 5.00.
    I only see 6 options in my Text Message Settings and nothing seems to resolve it. There's supposed to be 10 options. I contacted Nokia care centre and they suggested that I update the software which I did but to no avail.
    I purchased my phone SIM free and completely unlocked. No provider touched my phone.

    'Delivery reports, Message Validity, Rep. via same centre and messages sent via' are all missing from mine.
    I have reseted my phone on several occasions but it makes no difference in that department. I updated it to 5.50 and still no difference. I'm out of ideas. Can anybody out there suggest anything to me that I haven't already tried ?

    I've got the solution!!!
    Okay - I spoke to Nokia - who advised me to speak to my SIM card provider (Orange). Orange said - 'This functionality is not supported by Orange on the 6300'.
    But there is a way around this.
    Borrow one of friends SIM cards (preferably a Vodafone) - insert the card, switch on the phone then go to the messaging menu:
    Message Settings > Text Messages > Delivery Reports (set this to yes).
    Then switch off the phone, stick your own SIM card back in the phone and switch it on.
    If you now go back to the same menu - you will see that, there is no option to set Delivery Reports. However, when you now send a message - it will now indicate when a message is delivered.... JOB DONE :-)

    Hi... you should see the bar at the top move to the right and then disappear indicating it's gone.  If it's not delivered you'll get a red ! against the message.  If you hold the message bubble and shift the bubble to the left you'll then see a time stamp which is when the message was sent.  As to checking if the person received it, not sure.  Can only suggest the above to confirm it left you.

        Oh goodness! We want your text going through the first time, dria56. Does this happen when you're messaging someone in particular or is it every message you send? Is it a plain text or a message with more than 160 characters/graphics/pictures?

  • Delivery confirmation for text messages (SMS)

    Hello everyone!
    I own an iPhone and when I send text messages, I don't receive delivery confirmation, just like when I send an iMessage... Does anybody knows if it's an issue from Apple and iOS or is it by each carrier?
    The two biggest carriers in my county don't provide delivery confirmations... not sure about the 3rd one but I'm pretty sure that it doesn't too.

    Having the same issue. Spent a lot time on phone with Verizon. Seems iphone software doesn't support this function but Androids do. New Samsung is on it's way. Basically, going back to Android was the only solution according to Verizon

    i too have been having the same problem.  text messages fail to send in certain areas of the house.  my service, in the house, was much better before the last update.  my zip code is 28409.
    tell me something.  i see above your advice to clear text threads, clear data in the app and force stop.  if i do that (only 48kb of data), will i lose all of my text messages?

    Let's get to the bottom of this! I have reviewed your zip code and have identified some service opportunities. Did you recently move to this area? Do you have trouble in and outdoors?  Completing the previous suggested troubleshooting steps will not delete your text message. However, if you want to backup your messages there are several message backup applications on the Play Store. I am confident this information is helpful. We are here if you have any additional questions or concerns.

  • Text messages not sending

    Hey,
    A few weeks ago i bought some skype credit to text my girlfriend in Peru, from the UK (england). For the first week or so it worked fine, she would recieve the message very quickly, and the price was very reasonable. No problems.
    But, suddenly it changed: i will send a message to the same number, which is correct, and the message will attempt to send, but it will fail, with the advice to check number coming up. I am at a loss; the number is correct, we used it for a week with no problems, she is recieveing texts from people (granted, in Peru) ok, and i can call her using my home phone. What is going on?
    Possibly a related problem is that my mobile cannot text her either using normal credit. Anyone got any ideas?

    I don't believe there is anything that we can do for this particular issue, customer is more looking for clarification to take back to Skype. But he is unable to receive Skype SMS messages, can receive standard SMS without any issue.
    Skype has claimed that they are receiving the delivery confirmation message that the message has been received but nothing is being received to the mobile. I have confirmed with customer that other people that have been sent a Skype SMS are unable to receive the messages also, so is likely an issue with the Skype service.
    Would you have any further feedback?
    Example SMS - Sent via Skype on Monday 6pm.

  • Text message service center settings?

    Hi, I have a Samsung Galaxy S4. I am currently in the UK and inserted a pay-as-you-go SIM card from O2. After modifying the APN settings, I have been able to start using the phone and the internet - but unfortunately, my text messaging is not working. After spending an hour with O2 customer service, they insisted that I need to modify my "text message service center" settings. They said this should be one of the options on my SMS settings -- but I only have two options on that page: delivery reports and manage SIM card messages (when I click on this one, it just takes me to a screen that says "no messages" and has no other options). So I am supposed to enter the following number in text message service center settings, but I do not have that option on my phone:

        Hi SA81,
    The UK sounds awesome! I know important text messages can be while traveling. We do not support other carriers sim cards or settings. You would need to reinsert your Verizon Wireless sim card to ensure proper use of all the features on the device.

  • When I send a text message I do not get any confirmathat it has been delivered.  Is there a way of getting an automated confiramtion of deleivery as I'm used to having this on a previous phone, and need to know that my texts have been delivered.

    Thanks.  So there's no means of knowing whether a text message has been delivered, not to mention time of delivery.  Perhaps I've gone for the wrong phone.  It might do a lot but seems to miss out on some basics.

    This feature only works with people who have iMessage on their iPhone.  If you are sending a text to someone with a blackberry etc, you will not get the delivery messages.

  • Problem with Text Messages

    Hi,
    I have a 5530 XpressMusic phone with around 4000+ text messages saved on the memory card.
    Whenever the number of text messages increases above approximately 3500+ messages, the new text message alert stops appearing, no tone or vibration alerts. Even delivery reports refuse to appear. 
    Nokia PC Suite (Latest version) has a lot of trouble displaying those texts as well (So that I could backup the data) and nothing appears in Communication Center.
    I had the exact same problem with the older N70 ME and had to delete texts to get back to normal. Its going to be very cumbersome to go through all those messages and pick and prune to a size that the phone/Suite can handle.
    I have the latest firmware. Any help with this?

       when i have "backed up" my messages from the phone to my memory card AND picked my memory card as the place where my messages are stored,i put the memory card into my pc to browse the memory card i cannot find anything on there relating to the back up or my messages,i've gone through all the folders i can see,even the empty ones(btw do i need keep the empty folders or can i delete them),now this is really "bugging" me as my little lad sent me a merry christmas text message so i wanted to do the above action so i could save the message on my pc as a keeps sake

    I understand that having a preset text that you did not want can be a bit frustrating when sending out text. To clarify, is the preset message like a signature at the end of your text? Does this only happen in text messages or when your send emails also? Is your SMS delivery confirmation on? Messaging>Settings>SMS delivery confirmation.

  • Text messages not copied from sales order to billing

    Text messages which have been given in sales order are not copied to billing. Two of the text are copied and the other two are not getting copied. Checked the access sequence.. everything is correct.
    Please give a clue.

    These are basic settings to copy the Text from sales order to Invoice so please check in these areas,
    First you need to copy the sales order text to the delivery document from the delivery document you can copy the text to the billing document.
    To copy the sales order text to the delivery document
    You do the text determination for the deliveries also,define and maintain same TextId in the delivery header text procedure ,maintain the access sequence ,in the delivery text procedure access sequence you put the Text Object as VBBK for that Text ID.
    Make sure that you have assigned access sequence for your missed Text ID's in VOTXN transaction
    To copy the delivery text to the invoice.
    You do the text determination for the billing document,define and maintain same TextId in the billing document text procedure and maintain the access sequence,after that
    Go to VOFA transaction then selct billing document type then go in to the details screen here you do the check in the Delivery Text check Box (Top most bottom of the screen.)
    Now you can able to copy the sales order text to the invoice.
    Use VOTXN transaction for Text determinetion

    I cannot send a text to a friend with an older iPhone.  I tried turning iMessage off but it keeps prompting me to log in instead of sending the text via SMS with my cellular plan.  Any suggestions?

    So you did not read about iMessage before you bought the iPad? If you did, you would know that you can only text other iOS 5 users.

    So lookingat the sample above you could find that the delivery time is being shown as earlier than sent time.Is my setting is wrong or there issome issue with the phone software.

    First check that your time zone is correctly set in time and date settings
    See if you have auto update available this is network Dependant.
    It maybe a software bug if non of the above fixes the issue
