Text Message display on Curve 9360

Hi...just got a new Curve 9360. The default text message display shows all messages i.e. if I've sent a text most recently that is what I see at the top. What I want it to do is show the SMS Inbox (which I can navigate to via the folder options, but I can't find a way to set it as a default). Can't work out how to do it either on the device or when connected to the PC. Any suggestions...?...R

Do you mean that currently ALL of your email messages and SMS text messages are mixed in one folder when you view, and you want to see a folder on your homescreen of ONLY your SMS text messages? And your email messages in another folder?
If so, on your device, open that Messages folder > press the Menu key > Options > Inbox Management and check the box on "Text Messages", and save. That will put an SMS Text message folder on your screen.

Text Message # displays instead of Contact

Text message contact name is not displaying... only their number. Despite having the contact name and number in "contacts". Also, i have confirmed the number is the exact same in contacts book as it is in the received text message. I am on Sprint and iPhone4S.
Any ideas/recommendations?

Even just going back to the list of converstatoins (button in top left) you will not get alert sound while in the App. Again, it assumes you are looking at it and seeing the indicators pop up for number of messages etc for each conversation.
You have to be out of the app for it to give a sound.
If you are not expecting a msg right away then why stay in it? Press home and go back to home screen and wait.

Text Messages displaying contact phone number instead of name

How can I change the config so that incomming txt messages will disply the contact name instead of their number. For some reason, when I receive a call, the display will indicate the contacts name (this is good), however, with txt messages, it displays their number (would rather have the name).
So if Jane Doe calles me I can clearly see it's Jane Doe calling
When the same Jane Doe txt's me, the display reads their phone number

I had a problem similar to this on other phones, and it had to do with how the number was parsed. When you go into your contacts, is the number the exact same number as the number you receive SMS from? Friends and Family with this issue had it because they either didn't have the area code in front of the contacts number or for some reason, required a 1.

Also, go into your SMS history and long press on the number. It should pop up a wondow to save to existing contact.

How do i send a regular text message with blackberry curve??

i recently got the 8350i for nextel and i can only find the option to send a PIN and an email message and i am having trouble sending a regular text message

BlackBerry 8350i has rugular SMS senging option. This should be listed under Messages -> click Menu and select Compose SMS Text. If you can't find the option then contact with your carrier.

Can't see email messages in Blackberry Curve 9360

Hi, my blackberry is not allowing me to see my e mail messages in the phone. It was working fine and suddenly it stopped working. I have tried deleting the email account and setting it up again and it has not worked. Please help! Thanks

•If no email icon on home screen, click menu while in homescreen and click "show all icons"....if the icon appears dull, highlight it and click menu button again click "unhide"
• If that doesn't help check service books in options menu. See if any email service books are there, if none, then go to options again and to HRT (host routing table) and press menu key and "register".

Help with text message options

Is there a way to adjust the size of the text in text messages on my Curve 8530? Or maybe make them bold or change colors? I've tried other apps that let you do this but I really like the way the native SMS works. Thanks for any help.

Curve 8530

1. Put a 0 somewhere in your sheet.
2. CTRL+C in this 0 cell.
3. Select the column(s) which you want to convert to number.
4. Paste Special > Add (under operation section)
5. Now, this will convert that column completely to Numeric even if something is left out in your manual method.
6. You may delete the 0 which you put in step 1.
7. Make sure that lookup value is also numeric.

It wont let me open a text message.

Something that's been bugging me for a few weeks now. Sometimes when I recieve a text message on my Curve, When i want to open it, it just doesnt open... XD It doesnt do it all the time but randomly it will and it's very annoying.
Anyone can help with some suggestions?

this literally just happened to me,
i took the battery out for 30 secs replaced and tried opening it again and it worked.
if it doesn't, go to sms menu and choose contacts name you got the message from as if you were typing them a new message. it'll open up the conversation screen and you can see it. not exactly a problem solver, but a way around it

SMS text message header does not display sender information

When I receive a text message the only header information that displays is the date and time. The senders information does not display. The lines are not even there. There is no way to reply to a text message or tell who the sender is. This problem is only with SMS messages. Regular email headers display just fine. I have done a wipe, reset, reload, everything possible with no luck. I am the only one in my office with this problem. I have not been able to find any information or postings from anyone having the same problem. I can read the text message, but there is no header (except for the date and time). Any thoughts?
Blackberry Curve 8350i

I was able to resolve the problem by uninstalling the Blackberry desktop manager software and reinstalling it selecting Internet Email vs. Blackberry Enterprise Server. If you get to the screen that asks you to choose which type of email service you use and you accidentally choose the wrong one your phone will work but will do strange things, including sending all sorts of redirect emails. For me, this seemed to do the trick.

Curve 9360 custom sound alerts for messages will not work. Tried EVERYTHING.

I have a brand spanking new BlackBerry Curve 9360 that just arrived yesterday. It is great apart from this very frustrating small prob. I can not customise my message alerts for individual people in my address book. When I click on "try it" only the LED button flashes and there is no sound or vibration. I am trying to get the sound and vibrate to play as "active profile" but it just won't. I can override it and have custom volume and vibrate that plays no matter what the profile but as I sometimes like to set my main profile to vibrate or silent, it won't do.
So far, to fix it, I have tried:
Wiping profile and sounds from the blackberry software
Full factory reset
Creating my own profile and using that instead of "normal" or any of the other preset ones
Loads of battery pulls before and/or after any changes
I have also had a few different people text me to make sure the problem isn't just the "try it" feature. It isn't. The sound that plays is always the default message sound for whatever the default profile is.
If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated

I have also experienced exactly the same problem.
The profile is set on normal, with the ringer volume on 10, the ring tone has been selected, and I have also selected the option of the vibrator along with the ring tone.
Now here is the problem, initially it rings and works perfectly, however it seems to automatically turn off the volume so the LED light keeps flashing, however there is not ring tone or vibration.
If you select the "normal" profile or any other profile and change the ring tone or the volume, and click on the try it icon at the bottom, it still only flashes the LED, with no sound.
Have tried everything that you have mentioned in your email, however still unable to rectify the issue. the only way to rectify is it to hard stop the BB, by pulling out the battery and restarting the Blackberry.
Can anyone help or suggest what needs to be done ?

Why can't I transfer received test messages from my bb curve 9360 to my pc?

I received some text messages which includes photos on my bb curve 9360 and cannot find any way to copy the photos from the text messages onto my pc. Alternativly, If I could only find out how to transfer these photos in the text messages to the camera sections photos on the bb. When I connect the bb to the computer and utilise the bb desktop sw I can see the photos from the photo media section on the pc but not the photos in the text messages.
Can anyone help me as I have scanned the web hoping for some method but cannot find it. Thanks in anticipation of a reply.

Have you try to save image in your test message?
Hover to the photo and BB button and look for "Save image".

you already reset the device taking out the battery? if yes View your Saved Messages folder and see if it is also there

BB Curve 9360 wont let me download music, receive pictures or display pictures, or receive voice notes... HELP!

ever since i put my songs off my phone onto my laptop to then transfer onto my iPod i have been having serious difficulty with my phone, i cant receive pictures, voice notes and cannot download music. i have tried everything, i have deleted blackberry messenger, deleted app world, wiped the phone 3 times, taken the battery out a lot and also tried to restore factory settings (dont know if it worked). its really frustrating that i cant even download a song or receive a picture! please help because i dont know how much longer i can go before i smash the thing up!!

How do I disable my Apple ID as my display name for text messages?

I recently purchased the Macbook Pro with retina display and now when I send text messages from my phone or computer it displays my Apple ID instead of my name to the recipient. I have tried changing the settings with iMessage on my macbook but it won't go away. How can I disable this feature?

Displaying Text message or Symbol while processing the BI Publisher Report

Hello,
I have a BIP report embedded in a dashboard along with the Dashboard prompt.
After clicking the 'View' button of the BIP report it shows a processing symbol and displaying like 'Processing..to cancel click here'.
Where as BIP report is not showing anything after the prompts selection but it is running the report and displaying after some time.
This gives the end user a wrong impression that whether the report is executed or still processing.
Is there any way to set a text message or a processing symbol to show progress after the prompt selection?

I tried running the above report from the machine where BI PUBLISHER has been installed,I was able to save reports with different names to the folder.How can I run the report from my machine?What path should I give when we do not run from the server?

Some Text Messages do not display when using large font on iphone

When using increased font size (accessability function) on iphone some text messages will not display. The iphone just seems to lock up. If normal font size is used text massage displays with out any issue. When font size is increased, text message will not display again.

Actually, Captivate does have an essentially unlimited number
of undo levels. But that number may appear to be different. The
number of levels starts when you begin editing the project. If you
close and re-open a project, that starts the undo process over.
I've tested and I gave up after about 280 or so undos.
Where Captivate doesn't allow an undo, it normally warns you
with a rather catastrophic looking dialog.
