Text Message Format Question

When I tap the top of the screen on a text message to scroll to the top where it gives you 3 options,it does not have 'call' on the top left button, but 'email'. Any idea how to change it back?

Sounds like an encoding problem. But the best place to search/ask about MS stuff is probably the forums they run for their products:

Write to text file formatting questions

Apologies if I am touching on a subject discussed elsewhere. I have two issues, which I believe to be related, that I am having difficulty overcoming. I am collecting voltage date, converting it to a temperature, and then writing the time stamp, temperature, excitation voltage, and original voltage to file. Currently, when I write these values to file the date and time appear on one line, the temperature and voltages appear on the following line, and then there is a space before the pattern repeats. Furthermore, before data is collected I write information to a header, and if you look at the attached .csv file, you'll see that the data is all offset one column to the left. Any ideas how I can solve this problem? My code probably speaks for itself, but I am very much a novice so any general insight in non-jargon terminology will be humbly accepted. Cheers, Peter.

Your problem is where you are building your data line. Why are you using Build Array and then Inster into Array? You don't want arrays when writing to the text file. Each element of an array will be a different line. What you really want is Concatinate String. Use the Concatinate String to build a string with your timestamp, a comma, and your "spreadsheet string" that contains your data.

Adapter Module to convert text message to XML

Hello Experts,
I am writing a custom adapter module to convert the text content to XML message at the sender adapter end.
I have followed the steps mentioned in the "HowToCreateModulesforJ2EEAdapterEngine" guide available on SDN.
I have created the java logic in the process mesthod of the bean to conver the text message to XML paylod (don't know if it is correct). I do not have much idea about the Adpater API methods.
Can anybody help me with the logic to convert the text msg to xml paylod using adapter frame work APIs or is there any way I can debug and test my logic in NWDS.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

To convert Text message to XML why yiu want to go for Adapter Module?? Using file content conversion it self you can do it right?????
There is no standard logic to convert text file to XML, the logic purely depends on your text message format.

Peut - on faire ceci ? J'ai vu que l'on peut utiliser une richTextBox mais je n'arrive pas à charger l'activeX pemettant d'intégrer ce control.

I'm not exactly sure that I have corretly understood your question, but it seems to me that you want to have part of the text in a textbox with different attributes (color or boldness or so). This in not possible with regular textbox control, which holds only one set of attributes valid for the whole control.
I am afraid the richtextbox is the only valid control for such a matter.

The conventional ways of doing this, such as using turning off the SMS preview under the "passcode lock", well that option no longer exists, or if it does, I'm somehow missing it.
When I go to the "messages" setting under settings on my phone, I still don't see an option of turning it off.
If I can just get the name of the person sending the message, as I had it before, I'd be happy.

Error message as TEXT is Formatted

Dear All,
Issue is regarding the Text determination.
As I have created a text id, at sales document header level, assigned to procedure n access sequence too.
while creating the sales order, while entering a particular text, the text field is grayed out and message pops up as TEXT IS FORMATTED -> DETAILS. Aa I am unable to enter the text for this particualr ID.
I/p will be of great help n rewarded too.

That should not be the problem for u for entering the text, u can still enter the text by clicking on detail icon or double-clicking(not double clicking on text id but on free space where u enter text for text id) to go to the text editor.
but reason why u cannot straight away enter text on that screen it self is .....go to tocde SE75..select first radio button and click on display.........scroll down for object VBBK...double click on VBBK...in new screen u can see that for ur text id, some format is assigned (third column)..
i guess u should not be bothered by this, but incase u r..u remove that format by going in change mode if u have autharization

Since iChat 6 the SMS option in the Menus has disappeared.
However if you add the number to a Buddy List as if it were Screen Name but with the leading +1 (as in +1234567890) it will work over AIM.
It only works to US phones on some Carriers.

Pictures in older text messages now have question marks

Seems after upgrading to 8.11, older text messages with pictures have had the pictures replaced by question marks. I have googled and tried resetting network settings and stuff like that to no avail. Current and new messages seem to be fine, seems to affect messages that were received while on 7.x I just updated to 8.12 and the issue still persists.
Any ideas?

Text messages being sent in MIME format?

i currently receive work pages as text messages on my iphone 3gs. our system generates these pages as emails to [phone number]@mms.att.net. the person supporting this system reports that when i accept ownership for a given page (this is an on-call rotation) the message format is MIME...it needs to be plain text. these issues began after my upgrade to the latest iOS - 4.2.1.
any ideas?

When you go to Messages > New message a list of all possible contacts from the same person appears, in blue when supporting iMessages, green for texts and grey to non available phones/mails.
Make sure you select the correct one when creating a new message.

N95 8GB Newbie question re Text Messaging

Hello Folks,
I live in the USA an have AT&T as a provider. I am just learning my around the N95 8GB. When I try to send a text message I get a screen with two window. One is label "Text message Center" and the other has "message center number" in it. Does anyone have any idea what to put in these windows? I tied calling the local AT&T store and they had no idea.
Any help would be appreciated.

I tried the remove the battery and SIM card suggestion but to no avail.
As mentioned in my first message, the guy at my local AT&T store seemed to have no idea what I was asking for. He said that all text messaging was "mobile to mobile."
Perhaps I need another source at AT&T or perhaps I am going down the wrong track.
If anyone else has a suggestion, please let me know. I am sure I am not the only one in the USA with AT&T who has faced this questions.

Formatting plain text messages

Is there any way to write plain text so that Outlook will turn certain words into a specific hyperlink or will format other words (bold and/or underlined) when it displays the message? Specifically, I am using the "additional text" field
of a resource mailbox in Exchange 2010, which is plain text. If I type a URL into the text (e.g., http://www.somesite.com), Outlook will pick up on that and format that text as a working hyperlink in the message the recipient sees.
From this plain text input, I would like to be able to have the recipient's Outlook format a specific phrase as a hyperlink. For example I want Outlook to format the words "Click here" to be a working hyperlink to http://www.somesite.com
without actually displaying the URL in the message. Additionally, I would like to be able to have Outlook make other words or phrases bold and/or underlined.
Is it possible to write plain text so that the recipient's Outlook would pick up the desired formatting and display it the way I want?

As we are talking about Plain text, we can neither add hyperlinks to text nor format the text, Plain text doesn't support bold, italic, colored fonts, or other text formatting.
If you are editing a HTML or Rich Text email, I suppose you can try Quick Parts or AutoCorrect feature, either may meet your need:

All of the photos in my text messages have disappeared and been replaced with a question mark image. Where did they go?

I updated my ios two or three weeks ago, but suddenly beginning this morning all of the photos in my text messages have disappeared. They have been replaced with question mark placeholders. I can't access any videos/photos that either I have sent or others have sent to me. I did nothing to instigate this change (no software updates, etc.) and have already tried resetting my phone multiple times.

I have the same condition on my iPhone only. I also have an iPad, a Macbook Air and an iMac that share the same iCloud account. Messages with photos seem to work fine on all devices except my iPhone. All of a sudden all the photos in my iPhone message streams have disappeared and been replace by question mark placeholders. I rebooted all devices, shut down messages, and rebooted, restarted, with no luck. Very bizarre and extremely frustrating. Any suggestions?

Simple Question - Volume on emails/text messages

How do I turn on the volume for emails or text messages? I get the messages, but I can't hear anything. Is there something I need to turn on?

I was just trying to make sure your volume was not turned down. No offense intended.
Do you have sound with music files? ringers? Is the audible part of the message sent as an attachment? As Ozberry said, emails and sms texts are to be read so I'm presuming people are sending you audible attachments. If that is the case, are the attachments in a format that is supported by BB? See Unable to open attachments and Media types supported on the BB Smartphone
You can also try this:
Go to options, status. I want you to type the word test.
There isn't a place to enter it on the screen, just type it.
You will now be in device self test. Run the tests and
see if you get a failure at the speaker tests.
The other option could be what crackerjack suggested and that would be to visit your carrier to see if it is a hardware issue.

Question About Text Message With LG Env3 phone

Here's my understanding and experience with two Verizon Env3's and other LG phones - the green check means the message was successfully sent to another Verizon (mobile) phone number. The green arrow means the message was successfully sent, but the number is outside the Verizon network. If sending to an iPhone or Android, even if the phone is Verizon, the recipient may be using a texting app rather than regular text messaging. In that case you'd get the green arrow instead of the green check mark.

Question on text message notifications with imessage open vs closed with iOS7

Before the upgrade to iOS7.1 when I received a text message my phone would vibrate both when the application was closed to nofify me of the message and when the application is open (I am looking at the text message) and then when another text would come through with the application still open the phone would vibrate again. Now that I have upgraded to iOS7.1 when the application for text messages is open and someone continues to text me while I am reading the other texts the phone barely (hardly able to feel it at all) vibrates. The problem is that if I leave the application open and am not looking at the phone then I don't realize texts are coming through. Anyway to fix this? I have power cycled the phone, checked all settings (that I can find) and turned off notifications and then back on again and still nothing.
Ideas?
Didn't have this issue before the upgrade.. Phone would vibrate the same with application open or closed. Would like that again.
