Can someone send a text message from a computer and show up as a text on a phone?

Just log into the primary account holders name.
Click the text usage tab
Click view usage
Select phone number you want to view usage for
Click view messaging details 
When you send the text message from the site it will not go towards your messaging plan. It's free on your end. The person receiving the message will be billed for each text. Not sure about the replying back.

Your "address" for text messages via email (since they will be sending an email effectively, you will receive it as a text message on your phone) is [email protected] for Verizon numbers. You can also use [email protected] which works for pictures and enhanced messages, if the vtext address doesn't work.
Other carriers have different "addresses" -you can use these to send an email from your computer and it will arrive as a text message on that person's phone.
