Text message from my iPhone 4s not appearing on ipad2 anymore

I just recently got an iPhone 4s and have had an ipad2 for a while both devices running ios5 and both on same wifi connection. When I was getting text message on my iPhone they were appearing on my iPad also, which is what I wanted. But now when I receive a text on my iPhone it doesn't appear on my iPad. How do I fix this is there a setting I have accidentally turned off. Please help

Problem solved.. There was some sort of text blocking on the number in question that was there from a previous phone on the account and  never unblocked, call to Verizon call rep fixed the issue, all set now

If the phone isn't working, you can't.  If you have a backup on your computer, you may be able to extract them from the backup using 3rd party software such as iPhone Backup Extractor (see http://www.iphonebackupextractor.com).

You need to link your iPhone number to Messages - and Facetime if you use it. For Messages go to Settings>Messages>Send and Receive at>You can be reached by iMessage at. If your phone number is showing there, select it as your Contact address. If it doesn't appear in there, take a look at the end of this article for help.

  • I typed a text message from my iphone 4 to my wifes iphone 4 but she did not receive it. What to do?

I typed a text message from my iphone 4 to my wife's iphone 4 but she did not receive it. The iphone user guide does not explain text messaging. Help.

Even if he did hear the sound, there is no guarantee that the other end will receive it.  There have been times in the past when my wife has sent me text messages that I never received.  Heck,  before we were married, I sent her a letter via US Snail that she never received.  There is no guarantee of delivery for text messages or email, although email does tend to be more consistent that text messages (and cheaper too).

  • While I was talking via land line to land line with a friend they recieved text message from my iphone that I did not send. How is that possible?

I repeat.  While I was talking via land line to land line with a friend they began recieving text messages from my Iphone that I did not send.  I am in the middle east and I was calling a land line in Mexico but that should not have mattered.  Moreover, the person I was speaking to told me they had gotten other text messages from me that know I never sent.   I called my phone company (AT&T) and was told the problem was not with the system but with my Iphone.  They suggested someone was using app that mimicked my phone number.   Is such a think possible?

In addition to my iphone I have an itouch.  I only just today created an appleID so that I could use this message board so it seems unlikely that the problem is the result of a misused ID

Reset the devices: Hold down the home button along with the sleep/wake button until you see the apple, then let go.

  • I deleted my text messages from my iphone 4s by accident. How do i retrieve them through itunes?

HELP!! I deleted my text messages from my iphone 4s. I need to know how to retrieve them through itunes! I have tried alot of things and nothing is working!! Thank YOu

If you had these messages on your phone when you last synced and haven't synced your phone again since losing them, the messages will be contained in the backup created when you synced (unless you are backing up your phone to iCloud).  If you restore your phone to this backup it will return your messages to your phone.  (If you have already syned again since losing them then you have already overwritten your earlier backup and your messages are lost.)  Restoring to a backup will revert all data and settings you your phone to those contained in the backup, not just messages.  If you have more recent data on your phone that you want to save you must do this before restoring it from backup.  If you want to restore from backup, do the following:
Without connecting your phone, open iTunes on your computer and go to Preferences.  On the Devices tab check "Prevent...from syncing automatically".
Connect your phone to your computer, right-click on the name of your phone when it appears in iTunes on the left sidebar and select Restore from Backup, choose your most recent backup to restore from.
When complete, you can go back to iTunes>Preferences>Devices and re-enable automatic syncing.

  • How can I retrieve deleted text messages from my iphone 5

Somebody deleted a string of text messages from my iPhone 5 and I want to know if they can be retrieved and if so how? I'm new to the iPhone as this is my first apple product.  I am still not even sure on how to use my iTunes and so forth.  Please help as the string of messages was very important!! Thank you so very much!! Tracy

SMS text messages are backed up with the iPhone - whether it's locally or to iCloud. If you've already written over the backup that had them (as in, backed up after the delete) then they're gone.
If you still have a backup available from a time where you had the messages on your iPhone, all you have to do is erase the iPhone and restore from that backup.
"Retrieve deleted messages from iPhone" is simple as pie.

  • How can I delete text messages from my iphone?

    Hello everyone,
How can I delete text messages from my iphone?  I do not want to reset my iphone setting. If it is nesscary to reset my iphone setting, will I lose everything?
    Please let me know,
    Thanks,

Just delete them. Or, do you mean beyond just deleting them? Then, you'd need to wipe the phone - select Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings. That's a secure wipe of the iPhone contents, takes several hours (connect to AC power). You'll need to set your phone up from scratch (and erase the old backup(s) from your computer, since your SMS history is part of the backup).

  • I need to retrieve a series of very old (more than 1 year old) text messages from my iPhone 4S. Is this possible?

I need to retrieve a series of very old (more than 1 year old) text messages from my iPhone 4S. Is this possible?

If the text is still on the phone and wasn't deleted, I don't see why not. Probably easiest to use an app like TouchCopy (Mac and PC) or PhoneView (Mac), rather than looking through things on the phone itself.

  • TS2755 I would like to know how I can save a years worth of text messages from my iphone 4s to my computer. (I have verizon as a carrier)

    Hey:
    Hi everyone.
would like to know how I can save a years worth of text messages from my iphone 4s to my computer.
(I have Verizon Wireless as a carrier), I have tried the app store but it is okay for one messgae but not for hundreds.
    Can you help me.
Thank you in advance. Happy Thanks Giving.

There is no Apple provided way to save text messages to a computer.
The iPhone backup done via iTunes or iCloud, will backup the messages but they are not accessible on the computer.
A google search may reveal options to saving the messages to the computer.

  • Why can't I recieve text messages from an iphone while I'm on a phone call

When I'm on a phone call on my IPhone5s I can not receive text message from other IPhones. Why is this and is there a way that I can fix it. Nor can I send I messages or picture text.

That is a limitation of 4g networks, you cannot use data and talk at the same time except for few networks (I think AT&T)
Unless you have the new iPhone 6, which supports enhanced LTE which will allow talk and data over 4g networks.
This problem exists with many other phones as well by the way.

  • I accidentally erased a text message from my iPhone, how can I get it back

I Accidentally erased a text message from my iPhone 5; can I get it back

If you backed that message up before you deleted it you can Restore from your backup. If not it is gone, but if you just need some information from it you might try a spotlight search for a keyword in the text.
