Text message send/recieve problems after 10.3.1 update
Ever since I updated the OS to 10.3.1, text messaging has been a **bleep** nightmare. When a message is received I have to constantly "press" multiple times on that text in order to simply open it. Once it finally agrees to open full screen I am then assaulted with a glitchy screen then blank, no message just the contact name and keyboard, nothing from the sender is visible. About 20sec pass and then the screen with received message is visible along with previous conversations. However, the moment I begin to type my response not a single word or letter I am typing shows up. Furthermore, sometimes the words/letters I have typed show up, but then when it comes time to "send" it won't, I literally have to tap the "send" button in rapid succession until it does what it's supposed to do..... SEND! sometimes I'm soo frustrated because it will not send I just close the convo and later in the day when I check my texts it shows my message has been sent. Is anyone having similar problems??? This issue is the "cherry on the cake" for me, I bought this phone at full price and now I have my regrets.
Hmmm. I've come across one more person with text messaging issues.
Did you try resetting the device. Either of these methods simulate a battery pull, even though the battery of Z30 is not removable.You can do this by either:
1) Press and hold volume up and down button simultaneously and letting the phone restart
OR
2) Press and hold the power button till the phone restarts
Usually these steps go a long way to fix minor glitches and I hope it will take care of your text messaging issues. Let us know.

Searching problem after 10.5.6 Update
Hello everyone, we are having a problem with searching shares mounted on clients from a server.
Prior to 10.5.6 we could search an entire share as well as folders in the share. After 10.5.6 we can't search the share and we can only search folders in the share.
The server is currently running 10.4.11.
I guess what I'm wondering is... are there people with server 10.5 that are also seeing this problem or would upgrading the server fix this search issue?

on the other machines that didn't update to 10.5.6. They are able to search all shares. My 10.5.6 machine can only search localhost and Jukebox ...I ran mdutil on the 10.5.6 machine, here are the results:
$ mdutil -s /Volumes/*
Indexing disabled.
/Volumes/Jukebox:

Same problem here, upgraded to 10.5.6 and cannot search our apple server running tiger. Windows shares on 2003 server works fine. Will an upgrade of our Apple server to Leopard solve this issue? Is there an easy way to "uninstall" 10.5.6 without reinstalling the computer

I recently installed the 10.5.6 OS upgrade and I've encountered a problem. I can no longer search my network attached servers - there is no search activity of any kind when I type in search terms. My local search works fine...I just can't search anything on my network ... windows servers. Is there a compatibilty issue between OS X 10.5.6 and Extreme Z-IP? Any helpful tips

One of our users was able to search through our network shares(extreemeZ-ip) just fine yesterday morning, mid morning he updated to 10.5.6 and is no longer able to use finder to perform searches on those shares

After upgrading our workstations from Mac OS 10.5.5 to 10.5.6, we no longer receive Finder search results from our file server that runs Mac OS X Server v.10.4.11.
Are there any other solutions available other than rolling the workstations back to 10.5.5 or upgrading the file server to 10.5.6 -

A little information will be of a great help, witch iPhone did you upgrade, memory , and version of software ( iOS 8.x.x )?
Try restarting you iPhone and make sure you have a god internet connection , get as close to your wifi router (1-3 meter / 2-9 feet ) as possible. Don't use restore to factory settings before you tried other options . And most imported du you have an iCloud backup.

I contacted Sony about the Bluetooth / Wireless problem after the 4.3 update, eventually all I got back was that they're aware of the problems (Bluetooth) and are working on it for the next update. How long this will take is anyones guess.
I find it incredible that they rolled out the 4.3 update because it has so many bugs, at least give us an easy way to roll-back to 4.2.2 ...... that actually worked! -

Text message problem after 10.2.1 update
I updated to 10.2.1 and I now receive no visual or sound notification for my text messages, they also only appear in the main hub not in the separate account for text messages it just says no entries in this view, can someone pleaseee help its driving me crazy, I've done a battery pull numerous times even disabled Facebook and Twitter notifications as I've seen in another post but nothings working,i really need help as I have no idea when I receive a text unless I go into the hub

Believe it or Not i found a simple solution to this problem...
First I did a factory reset on my cell to start from scratch with no contacts and etc... I then ask multiple friends to send me text messages (SMS) to see if i would get them. For hours, all my text message notifications were working fine. Next step, i setup my email accounts accounts...and once again all my notifications were still working fine.
Next i logged into my facebook account and that's when all of a sudden after a few minutes. NO MORE NOTIFICATIONS. No text msg, no emails, no fbook notifications. The default FACEBOOK APP was the problem. I simply deleted the default FACEBOOK APP by tapping and holding the icon for 5 secs... and tap the top right corner of the garbage can and clicked YES to delete. Rebooted my cell and then went on Blackberry World to download the latest FACEBOOK APP and logged into my account. Ever since i did this all my notifications have been working fine. It's only been 24hrs but still it's a major step. I will continue to monitor the situation but my suggestion to you guys... FIRST THINGS FIRST is to delete the default FACEBOOK APP.... and before you re-download it reboot your cell and wait for a little while to see if you're getting your notifications.... then go ahead and re-download the Facebook APP from Blackberry World everything should be fine. -

My Blackberry Classic easily connected to my Lincoln's Sync system. I was able to receive and send text messages through the Sync. Since the latest O.S. update, I can no longer connect sms services through Sync.
Should I restore to previous O.S.?Yes my particular issue is not like yours. However, there have been many other laptop users experiencing similar problem to yours after 3.10 kernel. Mostly it seems to be bumblebee users that experience your problem with the blank screen. We do know that nvidia have yet to make their official drivers work with kernel 3.10 and up. The drivers in the Arch repository have been patched to work with 3.10. From what I have seen, this also only seem to be affecting laptops with newer nvidia gpu's. I fear there is not much to do with this problem until nvidia give official 3.10 kernel support.
My suggestion would be to stick with 3.9.9 kernel and the drivers that work with it, and don't upgrade those packages until nvidia has addressed these issues. If you have a look at the nvidia forums you will see quite a number of topics mentioning black screen when starting x on 3.10 kernel, and also a thread for the system dying. Reading some of the threads there may help you keep up to date on whether or not the issue seem to be solved.

Z30 won't display text message sender or message body
Although I love my Z30, it will not play ball with texts. When I receive any message, even if the sender is in my contacts, their name is not displayed, just their number with the international + format. In the conversation however, the sender's name IS usually displayed with each message, just not in the hub or text message list view. Also, sometimes the message itself is not displayed at all - I just see the start of the message in the hub but when I open it the message is empty whichever way I turn the phone round, and there's no coversation history. This usually happens where the sender is on iPhone.

HOW DO I BLOCK A NUMBER FROM SENDING ME TEXTS?? i keep getting strange text msgs and i want to block the sender. how do i go about that on Droid X?? any help would be appreciated.

PLEASE consider this a feature request -- we NEED to be able to block SMS by 5- and 6-digit codes, not just 10-digit phone numbers. Since many of us pay by the message, not being able to block individual "Premium SMS" services is probably something you legally need to provide. -

I am using Outlook to send text messages, but when messages come in, it only lists the phone number, not the name of the sender. All of the contacts

Can't send text message--Send button "grayed out"
When texting about 70% of the time the send button is grayed out. I've checked to make sure the recipients phone # has the area code.
I have to retype the message several times and with no rhyme or reason that I can discern it's finally sendable. I've reset the phone
and sometimes that works. I called the genious line and was told basically "it's a bug" --not a great answer. Same thing happened on my 3gs
Any thoughts on the matter?My iphone 4 does the same thing. I keep exiting text messages and then reopening and typing the first letter of my text to see if the send icon will whiten from the grey. Really a pain and waste of time. I thought I would look around here for a solution before making appt with the apple store.

5 year old deleted text messages automatically reload on startup after iOS update
I have a 5 year old first generation iPhone which was running iOS 1 until I updated to iOS 3.1.3 yesterday. Instead of restoring from a back-up, i restored to factory settings as a new phone. When the phone started, it received 35 new text messages - but they were old messages from 2007 which I had deleted years ago. I deleted thm again, but the next time I turned the phone off, they redelivered again when the phone turned back on.

I had the EXACT same issue as you. No text messages after upgrading to iOS 5 and coming across a bunch of errors during the process of upgrading.
If you go to your Spotlight search (the search screen that is to the left of your home screen), and you search for a word that would of been in one of your most recent text messages, the text message will appear in the search results. If you try to tap on the message, it'll bring you to the Messages application but it will not show the text message. It almost seems like the text message is still on the phone, but the Messages application does not know where they are or will not show it. Hopefully Apple will release a fix for this as I'm not wanting to lose 3 years worth of text messages.
