Text message time stamp while phone is off

Does anyone know how to find out when a text message was actually sent by the person who sent it to you? I turn my phone off at night and sometimes for short periods during the day and when I turn it on I get several text messages at once. However it says that they were sent/received at the time I turned on my phone which I know isn't the case. On my old phone, the lg dare, it would say when the person actually sent it along with when I received it even if my phone was off. Its not a huge deal but it would be nice to know so I know if they have been waiting for a response for a while. Thanks!!

Hey there techfan14! If I understand correctly, you would like to know when messages are sent to your phone (esp. when the phone is off). I can tell you that the time and date that a message was sent to your phone is not available to Verizon Wireless customers. We can show you when the message is delivered, whether the phone is on or off. That is available through My Verizon online under usage details. I have a pro and I reluctlantly edited my registry on my phone. I've never done that and realizing what a big issue it has been "work aound it" I thought i'd troubleshoot myself.
First I downloaded PHM Registry Editor and synced it to my phone. I suppose you could click on the link within your phones website too...

Once it was installed, I found the program in the program file and clicked on it the
I then followed the instructions below and everything worked fine...

Use the sim tool that came with your phone or a safety pin and just insert it into the hole at the side of the sim tray and push it in and then pull it out. It is no more difficult than that and then just close it again.

Blackberry 8310: My text messages and contact log to clear off automatically

I just got my handset about 6 months ago, and lately I am having problem that my mobile automatically delete all my text messages in my mobile and it also clear off whatever new messages that came in without notification at all ie I couldn't receive any message because once the text message goes to my phone then my phone will automatically clear it. I tried to take out the batter and everything is back to normal. Once I saw the phone was showing bout out of memory error. How do I control my memory? and now it happened every alternate day which I seldom receive text. Hope I can get some solution here.

Messages time stamps

Why is my messages time stamps are at least 10 minutes faster than my phone? Example, if my phone shows 8:00, and the message I received shows 8:10. Is it just me or?

This is very odd behavior and from what I can tell, not very desirable... how do we put in an official request for a change in this behavior?
Afterall, what benefit is there to inconsistently display the timestamp? It should at least be configurable.

"Sounds like you guys are using the same apple id for imessage. You will need to create a separate id for you wife. OR go to settings - message - receive&send and make sure your phone number is the default for both you and yoru wife.

I take it these are iMessages contacts ?
Are you using iCloud to Sync your Contacts apps info ?
In Messages > Preferences > Accounts > Details Button (You will need to sign in again) do you have the correct Country/Region set ?
This can effect the adding of the correct Country Code prefix to your own number and distort the coming form the Contacts app if the number there don't include a Country Code.

Displaying a text messages on 7940 / 7960 phones

Are there any inherent capabilities in ccm4.2 or unity which might be capable of displaying a text message to 7940/7960 phones; or even forcing a recording to playout ?
appreciate there are plenty of commercial packs do this. (& probably for good reason...) .tks

I'm sure you could develop an XML application to do this if you have programmers available to you. Otherwise, I normally use Berbee Informacast which does what you are asking for as well as zone paging through the phone or through external speakers.

Unfortunately, unless you had them backed up and stored elsewhere (like on the SD card or your computer), they most likely aren't retrievable.
Are you sure the phone is completely dead? Have you tried holding the power and volume down buttons simultaneously for 15-20 seconds to see if that will reboot the phone?

I am having tremendous difficulty sending simple voice text messages, or typed text messages to non I-phone users. Picture text messages will not send at all and can only be sent to other i-phone users. Is anyone else haing this problem ?? Big concern

Well this is stupid - I wrote the question above and now it is telling me the message is blank - how dumb is this.

Simple text messages are sporadic and seem to be impacted by whether I incluse a subject or not - picture texts will not go at all.
Anyone else having this problem ???

It's a corporate phone so will need to check. Will not send text messages to non I-phones if they contain a "subject" or a picture. Wierd - regular voice or typed text messages are fine.

You may use U.C.ME-OPC to send text messages to any cell phone. You may use a cellular modem that is connects to a serial COM port. In addition you may send an email that will be received as an SMS or eamil. If you use a cellular modem you may also send commands (for example: change or query values) from your cell phone to Lookout through U.C.ME-OPC.
U.C.ME-OPC connects to Lookout using OPC or DDE.

This is a known bug. After midnight it will correct itself. Apple is aware of it.
