Text Messages are being sent as email only to another vzw user. Not able to send text to a mobile device?

I am on a Galaxy S4. Sending text as usually, recipient gets an email of the text. Is is my settings or theirs? What needs to be changed?

Are you entering their name from your contact list to send the text? Or typing in their phone number? The email may be what's being populated by default when you pull their name from the contact list, if that's how they have replied to you previously, or how you sent your last message to them. Try manually typing in their phone number in the To: field and see if it sends as a text or as an email when you do that.

This is with iMessages only.
Go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive and below the Start New Conversations From, select your cell phone number instead of your Apple ID email address.

Since updating to OS5, my text messages are being sent as e-mails. Also, my contacts do not show the people's phone

Since updating my iPhone 4 to iOS5, it seems my texts are being sent as e-mails or in e-mail form. The person I am texting gets a phone number and not my name. Also, when I click on contacts to text to, where it used to show the phone number and I would touch the number to text, it just shows the persons name, no phone#.

Settings > Messages > Send and Received > Uncheck any number/email that does not belong to the device
Note: The little blue (>) will give you an option to remove the number/email from the device
Note: Check this setting on any device(s) using the same Apple ID

We have two iphone 4s on the same computer and after we did the ios6 upgrade the text messages are being sent to both phones. How do we stop this?

My wife and I's iphone 4s' are both on the same computer. When we did the new upgrade to ios6 it started sending text messages to both of us from each other. For example I sent my wife a text "Hey" and then my phone received a message from Me "Hey." Another example is that a friend sent my wife a text and both of us received it from that friend, but not in a group message. We both deleted our icloud account and the problem still happened. Then we checked that we were both signed in to our own personal accounts for imessage and we were. After turning off imessage the problem went away. Any ideas on how to make imessage work without having it send messages to both of us?

I also have the same problem and changed the send & receive addresses . But it always seems to revert back to 2 addresses/numbers on the second , my wifes phone . Which isn't the best .

How come after the upgrade to iOs 6 my text messages are being sent to people that I am not even sending them to!

Did you by chance give your son your old iphone 4s and activate a new iphone 4s? If so, you may need to contact your carrier or wait the period of time required for it to finally switch.

My deleted messages are being sent back to my inbox. I do not have virus software.

Every day after I have deleted certain emails they are sent back to my inbox. I do not have virus software so that is not the problem.
Tried to fix this but cannot find any solution.

How often do you compact your folders? You should do that at least once a week (though, I do that every day).

Your question is almost too much a personal one, begging the question "do we (husband and wife) feel comfy sharing one account on the Mac" maybe thats why nobody answered you.
It doesnt complicate anything, but it adds steps for switching accounts on the Mac/ purchases etc. of course
since your question is mostly personal, ..I wont answer THAT part of it, but creating a new account is easy.....messing with switching back and forth is also a personal preference 'issue' as well. I prefer to keep things simple, but...........you and yours, I dont know.......

If you had pop and now want to use imap you need to create another (new) email account in Mail.
When you start creating a new account, press the option key when you click the Continue button and you will be given the choice of creating the account for pop or imap.

Malicious messages are being sent from my SKYPE account I have changed my password now will this stop it? Is anyone else having this problem is it a virus or does it mean my account has been hacked or something?

Try this: Go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. After that, check if you can already sends SMS

Are you entering a 10 digit number? Or, if it is not a North American number or you are not in North America, are you entering "+" followed by the country code and number?

Not able to send text to one person.

My mother-in-law is able to send a text to her husband, my wife, and me but she is not able to send a text to her other daughter. We tried reseting the iphone and deleting her daughter's phone number from her iphone. My sister-in-law was able to receive text from everyone else except my mother-in-law. We all have an iphone 4 except my sister-in-law. Does anybody have a solution I could try? Thanks.....

Thanks for the response Allan. There is not a red dot next to the text. It looked like it was sent successfully.I was thinking that it my be my sister-in-law's phone too but she is able to receive everybody else text except my mother-in-law. If it had something to do with her carrier (AT & T), it would be strange that it will work for everyone except one person. I will suggest to her to call AT & T.
