Text messages auto delete

Text messages on my phone randomly get deleted. I have the option to keep them set to 'forever'. At one point I had 2.5 weeks worth of messages on my phone with no problems. Now it can be 1-2 days and they auto delete. Any ideas?

First thing? Check the File Free at Options > Status, what is the number at File Free? Now, remove the battery of your device, hold a minute, replace and reboot. What is the File Free now?

TS4268 My text messages auto deleted

Two of the contacts in my phone that i had over a year of text history with randomly auto deleted EVERY thing. Havent backed my phone up in almost 2 months, so dont really want to restore. Why did this happen? can it be recovered? i dont back up to icloud either....

This is with iMessages only.
Go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive and below the Start New Conversations From, select your cell phone number instead of your Apple ID email address.

Why are my text messages auto-deleting?

As of 3 days ago, my text messages have been autodeleting themselves after a week or so. Now I see when I woke up this AM that they only go back to Sunday... How can I change this? I see nothing in the options or message setup that deals with this. I have plenty of memory on both my card and device for message storage. Help!

The Low Memory Manager (LMM) is activated automatically when the available flash memory on the BlackBerry smartphone decreases to less than 400 KB. Flash memory is used to store BlackBerry smartphone applications such as messages, calendar, contacts, tasks, memos, and third-party applications.

Text Message Contact Delete

I had a Centro and had to download "FILEZ" to delete the contacts of previous numbers I had texted to. These are the ones that are listed in a drop down menu when you go to the "to" of the text message. FILEZ apparently doesn't work on the Treo 800w. Does anyone know how to delete these or does the program FILEZ actually work on this phone, even though it is a windows operating system?

FileZ is Palm OS. The 800w is Windows Mobile. So you're correct, it won't work.
You need to go into the Messaging app (the one you send SMS to and from, the same as your email app, etc. Just different accounts.) and either delete all of the messages (somewhere in the softkey menu) or delete individual messages.
I have PocketCM installed, so I just go to that contact's SMS view (which is read from the default app [the default app gets the only copy] - Pocket CM basically just makes it look nicer, and reads from the system's default database.), tap on the top of the screen to invoke a menu, and tap on "remove SMS from this contact" to delete all of the SMSes sent to and from the contact.

Getting text messages to delete on Today themes

I downloaded some Today themes from Bplay and am having an issue. Whenever I receive a text message I read it and then delete it. However, when I go back to the start page the message still shows up. When I go into the actual SMS folder the message is not there, it just shows up on the home screen. If I take the battery out and put it back in the messages will then be gone from the home screen. Can anyone tell me how to fix this problem or is it just a problem with certail themes? Thanks

i foundi found the battery pull the only answer, have also noted that this happens if the message arrives whilst in the holster, also this only started happening whilst i was abroad, and has continued since return home,...... anyone else any ideas other than keep battery pulling.

Can text messages be deleted before they are read?

After writing a text message to several recipients I realized I had the wrong date on it. Since none of the messages have been read yet, am I able to delete the entire text message?

Once you tap "send" they are confined to the ether and you cannot get them back. What I often do is not fill in the "to" field in my messages and emails until I am satisfied that the message is correct. After that I fill that field and that way I cannot accidentally send the message before I am ready. Sometimes I compose a message/email and wait until the next day and review and decide whether I still want to send.... sometimes I decide not to send.

My text messages are deleting before I can read them

My text messages delete before I can read them. I can see that someone attempted to text my phone but the message isn't there. Anyone else have this issue?

Try reset iPad
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
Note: Data will not be affected.

6210 Navigator text message wont delete ??

I have a text message in my inbox that does not give me the option to delete it..and i can't open it either..it has the little paper clip next to the name of my friend so not sure whats goin on.. and I also have a picture message in my outbox that wont send.. it has deferred as the status but im unable to move it or delete it or anything.. Please help this is driving me crazy..

Text message wont delete

I was sending a text message earlier & it froze up so i closed the app & when i opened it back up & said it was sent to unknown & when i try to delete it, it will delete but then come right back...is there anything i can do? it is very frustrating!

Hi, I had the same problem and it wouldn't go away for a week. But if you repeatly sync your phone with iTunes after you delete it a couple times, it will eventually go away at least it with me! Just be patient, I know it was very annoying!

Text messages just delete!

When I am writing a text message and the phone rings, the message just deletes! Does it really delete, or does it just dissapear and I don't know where to find it? Is there no outbox, or drafts folder that I can set up?

It doesn't exist. But you can delete them fairly quickly by clicking the "Edit" button on top of the Messages app and checking a screenful of (8) messages. That gets rid of 8 conversations at a time.

Why do some portions of text messages get deleted on their own?

All my text messages were deleted

My phone has been working fine all day/morning. I go to use it and i get a text message that says 7645 from a five digit number. I close the message and then when I go to read my old text messages, all of them were gone. Wth? Are they gone forever? I plugged in my iPhone to my computer and no luck there.

When you plugged the iPhone into the computer did you try restoring it from a backup?
You can right click the iPhone, on the left side of iTunes, and choose restore from backup as described here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1766

All Text Messages Were Deleted On Their Own & I Can't Do A Restore

I have an iPhone4 and this morning I woke up and see that my laptop (windows) had been restarted due to updates. My phone was plugged in to the laptop because it was charging. I have a password on my laptop so once I put the password in, it is like turning it on and of course it starts charging my phone and itunes starts doing a sync. I did not know that my messages were deleted until I went to send someone a message and that is when I noticed all messages were gone except the ones that I just received this morning. I tried to do a restore but it said I couldn't do a restore because I didn't have enough space available(even after I deleted a bunch of stuff). Long store short, I been trying to fix this problem all morning and a few syncs have been done so I'm asking for help. Are my messages now gone for good? Is there anything I can do to retrieve them?
Side Note:This may or may not mean anything but my phone has been running slow for the last 2 days.

If I erase all content and settings on my iPhone 4S, will my text messages be deleted?

I have way too many pictures, so I just want to erase everything and start over...but I don't want my messages to be erased! If I "Erase All Content and Settings", will my text messages be erased as well?

When text messages are deleted are they gone for good?

My daughter accidentally deleted messages that I need for court. Is there any way to retrieve them after she cleared my conversation ?

The only way to possibly retreive them would be a restore from backup created after the messages were received but prior to them being deleted.
If you do not regularly sync and backup the device, they are gone.
