Text messages different colors?

The text messages I send are different colors. Some of their background are blue and some are green. Why is that?

cbracken428 wrote:
So my sent text message is blue, does that mean the person didn't receive it? And some of the messages I have sent to this person are green?
Blue means the message was sent as an iMessage, using data, not your SMS allowance. Green means it was sent as a regular SMS. It also means that at the time you sent it, one or both of you didn't have a data connection.
For further information, take a look at the manual.

Best of luck.

The only way to do this would be to download a 3rd party App. I use Handcent, it lets you customize literally everything, and works perfectly. If you do choose to use a 3rd party app, make sure to turn off all settings in the stock text messaging app for notifications, etc. Otherwise you will get 2 notifications and the 2 apps will conflict each other.

  • Text messages different than what I sent

Recently I've been noticing that my text messages that I'm sending to my friend aren't what I'm actually sending. Part of the texts are what I said but then it completely changes everything and actually ends up sending something I sent weeks/months ago in place of the message I just sent. So far I've only seen this happen with her. She had an ATT Droid and I have an ATT 4S. Has anyone experienced this or know what I should do? Its really getting annoying.
    Heres an example.
"Ehh I guess ruthless isn't the right word. He just has the fight and the will to stand up for what's right and won't stop until its done. He's determined. I guess that's the better word lol."
She received, "Ehh I guess ruthless isn't the right word. He just has the fight and the will to stand up for what's right and won't stop until its done. He's determined. I procrastinated big time on the reading. Instead of spreading it out through 4 weeks I'm doing it in two days. Yup... Great move lol."
I sent that exact message to her about 3 weeks ago. Anyone ever deal with this?
Thanks for the help in advance.

Yep, I have the iPhone 5 and have the same trouble. Mine is with texting a Samsung Galaxy. Mine did the same thing as yours, although I'm not sure if the second half was a message I'd actually sent before or not! Certainly very strange.

  • Text Caption - Different Color

    Hi There,
I have looked through the posts and have not found a question
like this, but that may be because folks already know they can't do
    it.
The question is can I set an existing text caption - like
Adobe Blue to have a different background color? I like the
captions themselves, but just want to change colors. Is that
    possible?
If not how would I make my own custom text caption?
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi julie88
Creating or changing Text Captions is pretty straightforward
if you have basic image editing skills. All the text captions exist
as simple bitmap images that are found in the following location:
    Captivate 1: C:\Program
    Files\Macromedia\Captivate\Gallery\Captions
    Captivate 2: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Captivate
    2\Gallery\Captions
    Captivate 3: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Captivate
    3\Gallery\Captions and...
    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Captivate
    3\Gallery\Captions\More
All of them exist as different bmp files. In addition to the
.BMP files, you will find an associated FlashCam Margins file.
These end in .FCM. These files control the margins that surround
    any text.
    Hopefully this helps... Rick

  • How can I mark texts in different colors with Preview?

  • How to make partial text in JTextField in different color

I have a JTextField for user input but need to initially display something in one color and whatever user types in will be appended to this initial text with different color. I appreciate any help.

you need a component that can be set up for styled text
like JTextPane possibly or like that.
There is a styled text example in demos i think
    and possibly this will help

  • IOS 7 - Change message bubble color?, IOS 7 - Change message bubble color?

I'm guessing we still can't change the message bubble colors?  It was just annoying before.  Now it is a necessity.
The vivid green/white on a white background just makes it hard to see/read for SMS messages...I can go as far as saying that it hurts my eyes.  The blue and white are almost as bad for iMessages.   I tried inverting the colors in the accessibility settings which helpped for the messaging and made everything else unsuable.
If I can't change the colors I will have to revert the OS (same colors but with black text and less vivid gradients) or  change to a phone/OS that allows for better customization/ accessability options.  This really *****...I have had a iPhone for a long time.

Just downloaded the IOS 7 and I want to go back to the previous IOS now!
I am disappointed in the color changes of the new icons with the IOS 7. Within an hour after downloading the new IOS 7 I have been trying to change the text messaging bubble color. I cannot deal with the bright piercing chartreuse green color of the message bubble. This horrible chartreuse green color with the white letters on a white screen number one, hurts my eyes, number two, I cannot read it. I want the nice pale blue with black letters back that I had before I upgraded. Even the color of green on the previous IOS was more pleasing to the eyes than this horrible bright piercing chartreuse green color you have now. I cannot cope with it at all.
If I cannot have a different color bubble (how silly not to give your customer what they want) or allow for me to go back to the older operating system until you change your mind, I will have no alternative but to leave Apple iPhone, iPad behind because your current operating system is hurting my eyes literally and I cannot look at the screen without getting a headache or read my text messages any longer because of the color choice that you have made with no other option for me to choose from.
Now can we talk??? Can the customers get what they want or do you lose more customers due to this horrible color scheme and the refusal to listen to what your customers want, need and desire?

  • Failed to send text and text message color?

Hey Guys, well yesterday I got my Iphone 4 and activated it earlier today with a T-Mobile micro sim card and after I entered in all of my contacts , I tried to send a text to my friend but it failed and it noticed that when tried to send it the text color was green then i sent another text to a different friend and this time it was blue. My brother told it that the blue text good for iphone users while green was good for anything other than iphone. I turned off  "enable 3g" and cellular data and I turned on mms messaging, "send as SMS'', and group messaging and I tried again to send the text to the green user but it failed to send again. Can Iphone users send texts to android, etc. users?

Yes, you can send texts to Android, etc.  They will all be green as you say above.  But text messages are at the discretion of your cellular carrier.  You have to have a plan in place with them to send/receive (green) text messages.

  • Color Changes while using Text Messaging on iOS5

Ever since I updated my iPhone 4 software to the new iOS5 I've notice something a little different with the text messaging.  Some of the text messages are bubbled or highlighted in a light blue while others are the standard green color.  They have all been green but now I'm seeing blue.  Why are some blue and some green?  Can I change to other colors as well?  Just trying to understand the color changes for some people.
    Thanks!
    Gilbert

Blue messages use iMessage (other iOS 5 devices). Green messages are traditional SMS messages.

  • I send an email from my Iphone to a friend.  My friend receives it on her Iphone, but as text message.  She replies and it goes back to my daughter's phone, a completely different email and phone number.  Why?

I send an email from my Iphone to a friend.  My friend receives it on her Iphone, but as text message.  She replies and it goes back to my daughter's phone, a completely different email and phone number.  Why?

We went through my friend's phone and my daughter's email and phone number are not in it.  I have never given my daughter's iphone number to my friend.  Is it something to do with gmail or my apple id?  My daughter (14) has been using my computer as her "base" for HER Iphone.
My friend does use her iphone number as an email address as well.
For instance:  her phone number might look like this:  (493) 305-3958
and her email address would look like this:  [email protected]
If I Iphone/email my friend, she receives it as a text message.  Then if she replies to that text message, it goes to my daughter's phone and not mine.  It's completely crazy!  We searched her phone contacts and did not find my daughter's phone number anywhere or attached anywhere to mine.  Since when does Iphone emailing wind up in the text messaging area?

This is the third time of writing this on your Apple Support Communities!
Not with your current user id.
Far too much uneccesary information in your post, which only confuses things, a vast amount!
    Let's start with iTunes.
Have you updated iTunes to 11.1.5, because the previous version did appear to have an issue about seeing iPods?
With iTunes 11.1.5 installed, look in Edit/Preferences/Devices, (or use the ALT key, followed by the E key and then the F key) and make sure that the box named Prevent iPods, iPhones and iPads from syncing automatically does not have a tick in the box.
Once you have doen those two things, check to see if the iPod is seen by iTunes.

By the way, what does IOS mean? (I thought IO stood for operating system, but am flummoxed by the S on the end.
    Really?
OS stands for Operating System. (In computer speak, IO means Input/Output.)
iOS originally stood for iPhone Operating System, but it now refers to the iPod Touch and iPhone. The iPod Classic, which you have listed in your profile as your iPod, does not use iOS.
I assume that you have been listening to the Podcast in your iTunes on the computer as you cannot transfer it to your iPod. It's what I'd do.

  • Different color text in text area???????

    hi,
i am working on applet in which i want to show different color text in text area????????
    could any one help me

I'm not sure it replies, we have developed an
editorkit for the JEditorPane for colorizing a
text with a property file describing a grammar. We
provide in the packaging a trivial sample
for coloring a java syntax in an applet.
    http://www.japisoft.com/syntaxcolor
And of course it also requires that you buy it, and a.brillant forgot to mention that a.brillant has a financial interest in this product.

  • Different color text in one cell

How do I set a color for a group of words within a cell leaving the rest of the words black?
I can make all the text within a cell the same color but when I select the words I want to be a different color the color selector in the toolbar goes away and only fx, Cancel and Accept buttons are available.

If it is simple text, not the result of a formula, select the words you want to change and select another color from the toolbar or the color panel. That is, unless I didn't understand your request. I don't know where you are seeing Accept, Cancel and Fx.

    Hi Mayank,
You can give a try this.
Within the screen you are calling give keyword
    Leave to list processing
and then you can give whatever colors which are there in SAP
For making the text bold you can set Format intensified on or off depending on your requirement.
For more details you can refer to programs
    program1 : demo_leave_to_list_processing
    program2: demo_call_screen_from_list

  • How do you change the color of text messages?

Can you change the color of text messages?  If so, how?

    Two colors. Blue and green.
Green is for text message. Blue is for iMessage. You can't change these, though.
