Text Messages Lost

My iPhone went out on me while on the internet. I did a system restore backing up my phone. Now all of my text messages are gone, except the ones from November. Is there any way I can get my recent text messages back because they have addresses I need.
Thank You

What does your iPhone went out on your while on the internet mean?
Did this require restoring your iPhone with iTunes from your iPhone's backup?
If so, how often do you sync your iPhone with iTunes?
iTunes creates and maintains a backup for your iPhone that includes SMS messages and is updated if needed as the first step during the sync process if any of the data included with the backup has changed since the last sync - which is usually 100% of the time.

  • How to put my text messages in order by timestamp?

I noticed today that some of my text messages lost their time order. A few of them I sent yesterday and now they appear with yesterdays timestamp but, they are arranged after the texts I've sent today. Why is this?

A text message is listed in the Messages app based on the last text received. If you started a thread yesterday, or last week, then started another one with someone else later, when you start the next one, it appears on top. However, if someone responds to yesterday's thread, then it would move to the top. Is that what you are referring to?

  • Lost text messages after ios 8 upgrade

I recently upgraded my iphone 5 to ios 8 through  iTunes on my PC. After the upgrade, I  lost all of my text messages and many  of my photos on my photostream. My photos were backed up, so I'm not as worried about that. Is there any way to recover the lost text messages?

    Same here.
    Haven't found a solution yet.

  • I got text messages from iCloudreport regarding my lost iphone , are they scams?

I lost my iphone two month ago and I got a lot of emails from "Find my iphone" saying that my phone has been found in at least three other different countries. Today I received a text message from a unknown phone number saying that: "Find my iphone service: your iphone 6 64Gb Gray lost/stolen has been found. You can reclaim it now at: https://icloudreport.com/?imk=3544070.....(8 more numbers)...., Apple Inc. " I clicked the link, it led me to this address"http://icloudreport.com" it looks the same as icloud home page. I feel this is suspicious because I really did not put any hope on my lost iphone been found. Is this a scam?
I then rechecked the emails that I received in the past and I found that some early emails I received are from "[email protected]". The link in this email direct me to "losticloud.com"  while the most recent emails are from "[email protected]" and the link in this email direct me to "icloudreport.com" (which is the same as that in the text message). Is any of the email I got is scam? I remembered I did login through the emails so I'm a little worried.

It's all fake. If you had set up 'Find My iPhone' you could find the phone yourself, provided it's on, not wiped, and able to connect to a network. If you didn't set it up you can't locate the phone and neither can anyone else. The emails are phishing, trying to con you into giving away your login.

  • Can I recover text messages from an old Iphone that has now been wiped? Some of my messages got lost in between the process of turning my old phone in for a new one-which I have since restored from a backup a few days old

In the process of exchanging my defunct Iphone for a new one, some important text messages were lost. The messages obviously did not transfer over to my new phone as I had to restore my new phone from a backup performed a few days ago. Is there a special trick that will allow me to somehow enter my cell number, since it is still the same, in order to recover texts that were received in between wiping my old phone and getting a new one?

You can use an iPhone file explorer such as TouchCopy to get the messages off the old phone. But you can't put them on the new phone as messages. You could put them in a pdf file that you could read on the new phone.
Normally when you get a new phone the first thing you should do is transfer the contents of the old phone to it (Transfer content from an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to a new device - Apple Support)). Then the problem does not arise. You are even prompted to do this when you activate the new phone. Once you have started using the new phone without doing this it is too late.

I suggested contacting Compub in Nassau St as the info is priceless and worth the trouble of trying to regain?
Any thoughts? The poor lady is very distress

If she has backed up her iPhone she can replace that iPhone and set up the new iPhone from her backup.
You can put the iPhone that went into water into a plastic baggie with either new silica gel packets (preferred) or raw rice and let it sit for  4 - 5 days. After that time remove the phone and connect it to power for at least a half hour. While it is still connected to power reset it by holding down the power and hold button, wait for the Apple logo then let go of the buttons. Might take several tries. If it revives immediately back it up.

  • My iPhone has recently been crashing (or rather the apps) when I would try to access my text messages, contacts, phonebook, facebook, or email. I tried restarting my phone and lost all of my contacts. Anyone know what's wrong/how to fix it

My iPhone has recently been crashing (or rather the apps) when I would try to access my text messages, contacts, phonebook, facebook, or email. I tried restarting my phone and lost all of my contacts. This has been happening more and more frequently. Today I was in my pictures and was trying to crop one and my phone shut off completely. Anyone know what's wrong with it or how to fix it?

Make sure all apps are fully closed:
    - double tap your home button
    - hold your finger on an app
    - when the apps start to wiggle press the red "-" button on all the apps
    Now do a hard reset:
    - hold the home button and the sleeps/wake button down at the same time
    - the phone will shut off then when the apple logo ppears release both buttons
If by then your contacts have not been restored you would need to try and retreive them from a back up on itunes/icloud that was made when the contacts were on the phone. You could even stream them from the cloud if they were synced to the cloud. The link beow will show you how to restore from an itunes/icloud back up:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1766
Also to prevent this issue which i have seen alot when users are still running iOS 5 it would be best to update the iOS on your phone. To do this follow the link below:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4623
    Hope this helps

  • I have an iPhone 4s iOs 5.1.1, I want to update it to iOs 7, if I've backed up to iCloud will my contacts, pictures and text messages be saved and able to be restored if lost?

I have an iPhone 4s iOs 5.1.1,( I know I need an update!) I want to update it to iOs 7, if I've backed up to iCloud will my contacts, pictures and text messages be saved and able to be restored if lost? I recently backed up to the iCloud as recently as this morning at 2AM.

    OCD with good reason
With a second backup, as you now have, you are well protected.  The update makes a backup to use for restoring after the install but with another you should be in great shape.
Just take you time and be patient, these can take a while to complete depending on server load, connection speed, etc.

  • I have a 6 plus and I have lost text messages. This seemed to happen after my last update .

I have a 6 plus phone . Just after the last update I have lost many text messages ?

SSorry text message doesn't delete by itself.  If you backup your phone prior to the update then restore from your back up.

  • HT3529 I lost some text messages and I want to get them back. I tried an iTunes backup, but I ended up losing even more messages.

Go to settings>messages>send and receive at>you can be reached by iMessages at> Uncheck your phone number and you can select your Apple ID emal address if you want to use that for messages.

My dad & I both have iPhone 5s. He no longer uses his & my screen is cracked. If I switch our SIM cards, what data will be lost? It is important for me to save/transfer all photos, video, & *especially* all text messages. When the SIM cards are swapped between phones, will any of these things be lost/deleted?

Thank you! I would prefer not to wipe his phone. My cracked screen iPhone still works, so I would ideally like to put his SIM card in my phone for occasional use. As mentioned, he is not using his iPhone anymore for phone calls, but would like to maintain access to photos, video, and all texts. As I use an iPhone for calls, trading the cracked screen is ideal. If I am able to switch them without losing data, I will, but am afraid to do so if there is a chance that any data will be erased. (I'm not sure if the photos, video, and -namely- texts are saved to the actual SIM card. Can text messages be backed up?
iPhone do not store anything on the sim.
Photos should be saved on computer like any other digital camera.
You can restore the backup for your dad as well as for yourself while swapping phones.

  • TS2755 Lost text messages

I got my new iPhone 5S today but, having restored it via MacBook and iCloud, I've lost the last 3 months of text messages. Can I get them back?

Are you using a different Apple ID than you used when you created the iCloud backup?
Are you using a different telephone number?
Are you using a different cellular carrier?
I believe any of these items would cause you to lose your old text messages.

  • HT5622 I lost my phone in Regina, Saskatchewan and had my same number to my new phone I purchased in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. All my contacts, text messages, and a few pictures and videos automatically transferred to my new phone how get latest pics

My phone number is same as phone that was lost. When the rep from Bell in Moose Jaw, sask all my contacts, text messages, and only some of my pictures and videos came through but, not all of them, it loaded my oldest pictures and videos. I want the latest pictures and videos, how do I do that? I also purchased 15 GB Icloud storage, when I go into the "Manage Storage" at the bottom of screen it says 12.1 GB available of 15.0 GB on icloud the processing bar has only moved slightly and just stays that way. What do I do to get all my pictures and videos?
    <Subject Edited by Host>

On your iPhone tap Settings > iCloud
Make sure Photo Stream is switched on.
iCloud does not store videos. Images only.

  • Help, I need to get back lost text messages??

My phone broke in Jan, it froze and would not allow me to do anything with it. I wasn't thinking at the time about all my data because I knew the phone backed everything up. Also I had a certain amount of messages saved to phone. Since they sent me a new phone, I was able to retrieve all of my pictures, I was not able to get those text messages. I really need them. Does Verizon hold on to messages for a certain amount of time for legal reasons? Any help would be great, thank you Lisa .

        lmsizemore,
I'm sorry to hear about your phone, I know how hard it is to know messages have been lost since I keep most of mine. I'm glad you now have a replacement and pictures restored. Unless you had an appliation to backup your messages, the messages can't be restored. You can access your messaging history(date, time, number) from My Verizon, but no content is available.
