Text not shown in text box.

Text is not appearing when I type in text box.  Size, colour, font ok.  Have tried saving picture in different formats (it is a workshop flyer) pdf, jpeg, gif but this makes absolutely no difference.  This is the first time this has ever happened.  Can anyone help please?

Hi,
What version of photoshop and operating system are you using?
I'd try resetting the type tool by right clicking on the big T in the tool options bar and then clicking on Reset Tool.

  • Why is my text not visible in text boxes?

    I have a set of text boxes that I have used throughout my book as little sidebars providing tips to the reader. These text boxes lay out beautifully within iBook Author. When I preview on my iPad, the text within these boxes becomes invisible. The text is still there — if I double tap on the iPad to use the search function, the text can be selected and shows up in the search box, but is still invisible.
    I am hoping this is some kind of user error on my part that can be easilly corrected. It appears to affect all two dozen tips I have inserted into the doccument. However, when I create a new text box it seems to function fine, even when following all the same steps to lay it out. You will see this in the green box in I stuck in example for the purposes of obtaining your help. (Please help! )
    All the affected text boxes were cut and pasted from the original, so perhaps I set something wrong? It's odd that the preview does not match the iPad layout.
    Here are some screenshots to make it more clear. First, the layout in iBooks Author:
    Then a screenshot from the iPad after it has been previewed:
    It may also be noteworthy that as the preview loads into the iPad, the text is visible, then vanishes as soon as the upload is complete. The small page previews on the ipad when 'zoomed out' to the overview also show the text, though when you go to the page it is still blank. Here is what the small page view looks like:

    Did you confirm the text/box is 'to the front'...on the top of everything in that same location? Should work if so.
    Yes.
    Are they any other elements that are maybe hiding there?
    No.
    Did you try another font color or font?
    Yes. Font, style and color (black, white, grey, green purple) do not appear to have any effect.
    Are the boxes anchored graphics...
    No, they are free floating but the problem persists if I anchor them.
    and is the text in a box on top of the graphic?
    No, the text is integrated. The box was made by creating a text box.
    Even with different answers, this problem should not occur — if the text were hidden behind something, it should show that way within the program and the small preview, no?

  • Why is some text not shown after merging multiple documents

    One of my clients is using Adobe Acrobat XI and they are merging multiple PDF documents (up to 1000 single PDF's!) to create one big PDF document.
    But somehow just some parts of the text are not shown after the merging (it is actually still there because you can copy and paste it in to Word and you will see it again)?
    Any suggestions?

    Hi Wunold van Drunen,
    Since you have identified the problematic pages, have you checked if the issue occurs with the same pdf when merged with a smaller number may be 10 pdfs.
    How are these pdfs created? It might be possible that the said document's pdf structure is incorrect.
    You may want to sanitize the said pdf's before combining and check.

  • Opening PDF files using preview on some PDF file result in the content not displaying properly. The file I tried to look at has pictures and text. The pictures are displayed ok but the text is shown as pixalated boxes. The same file opens ok via a PC.

    Solutions please. Accessing PDF files online using preview normally works ok. However there are a clutch of files on the mothers union web site that although can be opened, present text as pixalated boxes. The pictures contained in the documents are however displayed OK. I experience the same problem on my Imac and my wifes laptop that runs Lion. The same site has other PDF files that can be opend OK. If I access the same problem files using a PC laptop running microsoft windows, they are opened OK with the text displayed as it should be. This is driving me mad....

    The offending PDF files were created using word
    Yes. Word 2007. (You can see it in Preview if you do ⌘I or choose Tools > Show Inspector.) And it's the transparency issue. The three pics attached show the Jan 2012 newsletter (a) in Preview, (b) in Acrobat Pro, (c) again in Preview, after I saved it in Acrobat, flattening the transparency.
    For you, the solution is to use Adobe Reader -- with due note taken of
    <http://www.adobe.com/support/security/bulletins/apsb12-01.html>
    For them, I don't know. Presumably, they wish max compatibility for their newsletter, but I really don't know how Office 2007 generates PDF. Maybe they should check transparency settings and flatten before generating PDF? Or perhaps save as PDF v1.4 instead of PDF v1.5? I would use Distiller, but perhaps they can't afford it.

    Hi,
    when a JLabel is inserted in a layout and it does not have the needed space to show all the text it contains, the result is a part of the text shown followed by " ... ". • IWeb 09 Text not Rendering Consistently (text to picture optimization)

    I am using iWeb 09 and finding that custom fonts are not being properly rendered to be output as images or as Apple calls it optimization.
    Under iWeb 06, this worked perfectly. Custom fonts were saved out as image files and retained their design aesthetic. Here's a site I did that does exactly that (www.stuffiputonline.com) The font I used was Eurostile and it all outputs perfectly as image.
    In 09, custom fonts are not being output as images and instead show up as Times Roman, or some other generic web font, when opened on a third party computer. (The site in question is editroom.info and I am using Avant Garde as my header and sub-header font.)
    I have tried turning on the optimization preference to gauge what's happening. However, iWeb's behavior is totally inconsistent. Sometimes the custom fonts show the optimization warning, sometimes they don't.
    I've tried some tricks which I thought would force optimization/image render. I added a tiny shadow to all my custom font text. Okay, great it all showed the optimization warning.
    I open my site on my wife's computer and almost every font that was supposed to be an image is coming up as editable Times Roman text. Clearly, Apple has retained a text information despite showing it as image render inside iWeb.
    Any thoughts. Is this just a 09 3.0 bug?

    Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Add a drop shadow to the font in the Font window and set the opacity to 1 or zero percent as show in this screenshot:
    Click to view full size
    If you already haven't done so go to iWeb's preferences and check this checkbox: Show text imaging indicator. Then you'll get an indication when the text box will be converted to an image file.
    You do know that this will make the site load slower in many browsers, particularly Internet Explorer.

  • When talking through normal text(not imessage), my texts send fine however,I don't receive all texts.

    When sending a text via normal texting ( I turn my mobile data off whilst out and not on WiFi so I am not using IMessage ) I can send the message without a problem. However when the text reaches the person ive sent it to and they reply,I don't always receive the text they have replied with. I have tried doing simple things like turning the mobile data on and off again and nothing has changed,still not receiving all the texts I get sent. Any idea why this could be happening?

    Try a reset: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the device shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, if it doesn't restart on it own, turn the device back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps BEFORE doing the reset.
    If the issues continue, you may need to consider restoring as new.

  • New information not shown in the box view

    Hi Experts,
    I am working for a customer that has the requirement of creating a new box view.
    I am using NAKISA 4.0 SP1.
    I think that I have followed the correct steps in order to achieve this goal, but of course something is missing.
    This is the sequence that I have followed:
       1- Enhance the standard RFC /NAKISA/OC_OU_STRUCTURE for including a new output table and the corresponding code to fill it.
       2- Modify the OrgUnitHierarchyDataElement.xml specifying the new output table. The file is in the .delta/AppResources/dataelementconfiguration/ folder.
       3- Restart the server to make these changes visible from the admin console.
       4- Create the new xsl box template in the .delta/Templates_deployed.
    After doing all this steps, I have created a new view in my OrgChart using the new template and with a linked detail. The link field is orgeh. The problem is that I can't see the linked information in the box.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks in advance.

    Sudha,
    Include the web item Text Elements and within that select the Variables you want to view.

  • AppBarButton.Label text not showing entirely (text wrapping not working)

    Hi,
    I'm having some issue with the AppBar and the AppBarButton's labels.
    I'm working on Universal App and testing on Windows Phone 8.1 Update 1 emulator.
    In this image you can clearly see the issue where I drawn the red arrows:
    The strangeness is that doesn't happen when I try in other language, for example italian:
    The properties setted for the buttons are obviously the same, since the page it's the same and localization is done through Resources.resx files
    Here's the code for the AppBar I'm using
    <Page.BottomAppBar>
            <CommandBar ClosedDisplayMode="Minimal">
                <AppBarButton x:Uid="SearchContactButton" Icon="Find" Click="SearchContactButton_Click" />
                <AppBarButton x:Uid="ClearFieldsButton" Icon="Clear" Click="ClearFieldsAppBarButton_Click" />
                <AppBarButton x:Uid="DeleteHistoryButton" Icon="Delete" Click="DeleteHistoryAppBarButton_Click" />
                <CommandBar.SecondaryCommands>
                    <AppBarButton Label="about" Click="AppBarButton_Click" />
                </CommandBar.SecondaryCommands>
            </CommandBar>
    </Page.BottomAppBar>
    Tommaso Scalici

    This topic has been brought up occasionally, and yes it depends on the language.
    Here's a thread from 2011:
    Whats the deal with "two-line descriptions" for icons on the appbar
    The original UI interface designers wanted to allow only 1 line of text, but it isn't enough for some languages with long words (such as German), so they allowed 2 lines but only for certain languages. Personally I think they should make it consistent across
    all languages.

  • Google Map markers text not formated properly in FireFox

    I'm using the Blueprints Ajax Map Viewer component to add a Google Map to one of my pages. This is too cool! It really makes using Google Maps easy.
    However I have a display problem in FireFox. The map has MapMarkers with markup. When you click on a marker the Info Window "balloon" is displayed with the markup text. In IE, the Info Window is nicely wrapped. However, in FireFox, the text is displayed one word per line. So in IE it looks like:
        My Marker
        Description of my marker.But, in FireFox
        My
        Marker
        Description
        of
        my
        marker.Here's an actual example of the "markup."
    <b>Downtown Danville</b><p>Parking. Water. Restroom (in Caboose!). Museum.</p>I suspect it is a style problem, but don't know where to start to troubleshoot. Do I have to dig into the Themes? Any Ideas?

    Thank you for bringing this to the forum. One of our developers suggests replacing all spaces with non-breaking spaces ( ) and provides the following code associated with the component catalog found at http://developers.sun.com/ajax/componentscatalog.jsp:

    String m = formatMarker(userPoint.toString());
    MapMarker marker = new MapMarker(latitude, longitude, m);

  • Why is selected text in the Twitter search box not highlighted?

    Selected text in the Twitter search box is not highlighted. It should be highlighted. So far as I've noticed, this is the only place where my system doesn't highlight text properly. I can't find any references to this problem with the Twitter search text highlighting anywhere from anyone other than me.
    I'm using Firefox 12 on Windows XP Home with the XP classic theme.
    Image http://i528.photobucket.com/albums/dd329/Sharcel-Bellic/Twittersearchbox.png
    The word "This" in the above image should be highlighted.

    Such issues have been reported as caused by a PNG image with a white color for the background.
    A right-click on that search bar and opening the Inspector and disable the .global-nav .form-search .search-input { []background-color: transparent;} rule also makes this work.<br />
    This works only as long as the search bar has focus.<br />
    Not sure which rule is causing the selection not to work if the focus is removed.

  • Polish , turkish text not decoding in the alert boxes in JSP file

    Hi All,
    Currently I am working on application in the J2ee development perspective in NWDI  and this contains many Jsp pages.As per the business requirement we need to make this application support Polish and turkish languages , for this we have maintained properties files .
    I have encoded the polish and turkish text using the u201CHTML Unicode format encodingu201D hence when checked the url in the IE with Polish and turkish locale all the characters are getting decoded properly ,but i have a proplem with the text in the alert boxes i.e. the special characters in the text displayed in the alert boxes is not getting  decoded at all eg:"Wprowad&#378; numer konta BP" whereas it has to display as "Wprowadź numer konta BP:
    Also i have used java encode also to achieve the same and for this "?" is getting displayed i.e. it is not getting properly decoded.
    I have also used native2ascii method in this also it is getting decoded but not correctly i.e. "?" is displayed
    Please note that the alert boxes are written in the script tag in the JSP page.
    Request you to kindly help me in resolving the issue at the earliest as this is a very critical issue in my project now.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Nishita Salver

    Hi nishita,
    We had a similar problem in one of my projects, but what i remember is we have kept the ascii value for that character directly in the properties files and tried to encode it, this way i resolved my problem.
    Try this way and let me know the result.
