Text notifications are too loud!!!

Is there a way to get quieter text notifications? I like having my phone make a sound when I receive a new text but not one that alerts the whole neighborhood. I've tried all of the "standard" tones that came with the phone but they are all obnoxious.

The only way is no text notification at all. Or put a really loud ringtone on it, so that you can turn the volume down. Of course you'd then sleep through the alarm, but hey..
The problem is firstly that ringer and alerts are connected volume-wise. On top of that are Apple's sucky ringtones with no options for people that prefer a simple and short beep, blip or click.

Catalyst 6500s are Too Loud...Way to Fix?

I recently purchased seven 6500 series switches, a couple operating with IOS (6509s) and the rest with CatOS (6506s). Each switch has two 3000W power supplies and a fan tray.
Looking at environmental monitoring, the switch is neither heavily loaded (power wise), nor running very hot (~25-30C with input and output temps differing by 2-3 degrees).
The short is that the fans in the power supplies are VERY loud. In fact, they are so loud that I am not going to be able to use at least one of the switches in the location that they need to be, and am likely going to have to return them for a stack of 3750s or something. While this would work, this is not the path I would like to pursue.
Is there any way to put the fans into some sort of variable state where they only run as fast as required to cool the box based on its usage? Other network hardware has this functionality, as do most of our servers that we have in place. The CAT 5509s that are being replaced are not NEAR as loud as these 6506/9s.

Its possible the fans are bad, but then your sh environment doesnt show any temperatures problems in the chassis. You could probably open a case with Cisco TAC to get the powersupplies RMAed. The chassis has a fan tray on the side, as well as fans on the power supplies. I am not sure which one is exactly generating more noise...

Sending iphone Pictures in texts which are too big for some Smartphones

When sending pictures in texts there used to be an option of 3 different size formats. Small/Medium/Large. There is only one available now which is too big on some smartphones.
The HTC Wildfire has a restriction of 300kb and a text with picture I tried to send, could not be sent directly to the phone, instead it went to a web address to view. I also tried to share contact details with picture and the file was also too big. I also tried the first picture to another old Nokia without problem.
Can anyone tell me if this is a problem with the latest Apple Software? Will they be fixing it so that we can select the picture size again to allow for picture size restrictions so we can send smaller photos to actually share our pictures.
Anyone know?

I've just tried to see if I could get any more info from the 3gs User Guide and also found some MMS Info on page 325.
It also has some info on adding Photos on page 333
If MMS isn't supported by your carrier, camera image doesn't appear and you can't send photos or videos ... This doesn't count in my case as 02 support this.
Send a Photo or Video: Tap Camera Image. Then tap 'take Photo or Video', or tap 'Choose Existing' and then select an item from a photo album and tap choose.
The size limit of attachments is determined by your carrier. If necessary, iphone may compress the photo or video.
Well this clearly doesn't work for the HTC but I'm still more inclined to think that perhaps the Apple updates have removed the size reduction options. The carrier (02) is able to take the MMS from me but the family member with the HTC who is using the 02 network through Tesco needs investigating why there is a limit to kb's.
I shall look into this and see what I can find out. Perhaps it's a combination of the Apple Software and the Carrier people are using which is causing the Picture problems.

Lowering too loud places

Hi, Im not english speaking, but I hope You will understand my problem. I'm lookin for function that will automaticaly lower all places that are too loud. I mean only those fragments which are over the track. The thing is to left the rest of voice as it was. Is there any automatic solution. Now I'm spending hours marking all the problematic places and lowering them, while there is probably simpler way to do this. Thank You very much.

There are a couple of things to mention here. First is that it's easiest to see what is going on if you Normalize the signal first, and put the highest peaks at about -0.1dB. This generally means that you don't have to pull down the threshold control anywhere near as much to see the effect on the red gain reduction meter.
And the red meter is the second thing, of course. You can see how much reduction you are getting on peaks very clearly with this, whether you normalize your signal first or not. This is the one thing that makes this particular compressor much easier to use - the ease with which you can set it up!

IOS Text Notifications

I'm not sure that my iOS text notifications are being received for a multi-folio viewer app.
When I send the text notification to the developer app as a test, it works perfectly. The text message is received, I can see the number of devices and devices sent in the notification details.
However, when I send the message to the distribution app, I don't think it is received. It shows a status of sent, but when I look at the notification details I can see the number of devises, but "0" devices sent. My test subjects don't get the message.
The App version is v26 and push notifications is enabled and APNS certificates were created.
What do I need to do?

Text notifications should work with the v26 viewer. I assume the push certificates are valid. I think you should contact Gold support to help you troubleshoot the issue. The number is listed on the DPS Dashboard (https://digitalpublishing.acrobat.com) when you sign in with your Pro or Enterprise account.

Photoshop CC icons and text are too small: how to adjust so they're readable? [was: Joanne]

I have just downloaded Creative Cloud on a new computer. The new photoshop icons and text are too small for me to see or work with. I cannot seem to adjust this so its "useable"

Ive put feature requests for this in before and I know many others have as well. Is there any way to see if Adobe is actually working on this? I dont really consider this a feature request, it should be standard with the software. A feature request would be something like creative cloud libraries, not the ability to make font sizes and icons bigger.

HTML tags displayed with the text in "Notification" area

We want to display an HTML formatted message in the "notification" area, but the HTML tags are being escaped and thus are displayed along with the text. We are using Application Express 2.2.1.00.04. The application has been handed off to us to support and we have no experience with APEX. So I hope I am explaining this correctly.
The process to display the message is as follows:
After submission, a page validation fires, which is of type "function returns boolean": "return some_function('P100_MESSAGE',2nd_arg);".
In "Error Message" is "&P100_MESSAGE."
The function returns true when the validation is successful. When validation fails, it returns false, setting 'P100_MESSAGE' to some error message - for example: "<li>Phone number is not numeric</li><li>Email address is not valid</li>".
Our template has this in the body definition:
#NOTIFICATION_MESSAGE##SUCCESS_MESSAGE##BOX_BODY#
As I understand it, #NOTIFICATION_MESSAGE# will be replaced with the value of 'P100_MESSAGE'.
I've displayed 'P100_MESSAGE' on my page to confirm its contents and it is rendered correctly with bullets. But the notification area does not show bullets. It displays the text and the HTML tags.
Is there anything obvious we can do to fix this problem? Thanks

I 've changed P100_MESSAGE to text field, text field (disabled, saves state), text field (disabled, does not save state), and textarea, display as text, etc. It is originally set to Hidden type (because it is only to be displayed in the notification area). But changing it to various types makes no difference as to how it is displayed in the notification area. Of course, when it's not hidden, then it's also displayed on the page, among to other page elements,which is not acceptable.

mf6161dw scans are too light when scanning hand written text. I changed from b&w to greyscale, which now makes the text legible. However the text is still medium grey instead of black on my old scanner. Need help or i will have to return it.

When scanning handwritten documents, the light from the lamp may reflect on the ink. Since scanning in greyscale did not return the image quality that you would prefer, I recommend scanning handwritten documents in [Color].

Both the Texts and Graphics When I open windows are too large and blurry. Is this anyway I could fix this?

When I open Firefox (Firefox is updated to its latest version) both the text and the graphics are too large. I've tried zooming in and out features, but the texts become unreadable.

CTRL+0 (<--that is a zero) will reset your zoom level on affected pages. Firefox remembers the zoom level you last used on a page.<br />

The text in all windows are too tiny and i can't zoom

How can I increase the size of all text in all windows? Zoom doesn't work and "bigger" on text size doesn't work. I can't see the text--it's too tiny.

I already did Tools - options - display - formatting - fonts
I am talking not about the messages themselves, but the listing of folders and sub-folders.

Email and text Notifications when on a call

Is there a way to stop email and text notifications when I am on a phone call? I have a long email alert and message tone, and when I'm on a call and they go off, it's so loud and long I can't hear who I'm talking to.
They can't hear the alert but it goes on for so long they waffle on and I miss a lot of conversation. Why is this not automatically disabled or set to silent when taking a call?

Again,we shouldn't have to. I've been an iPhone user since 3G and its taken years just to get simple things that even 10 year old nokias can do. Since we can now use our own alert tones etc, they can't even get them to be quiet when on a call. I've no need to know I've received a text or email when I'm on a call.
Always seems like apple don't think things through in the rush to get their gadgets out. Surely this is an easy fix that could have been sorted by now, there are enough complaints about it.

Lumia 900: Speaker volume too loud, headphone volu...

I know this issue has been posted before, but I wanted to see if there are any updates. There was a firmware update to fix the purple hue problem, and was hoping this that this issue would be resolved along with it, but no such luck. The external speaker cannot get quieter than 7/30. Anything below that seems to do little or nothing. The alarms are scary loud even at 1/30. I can't turn music at work because even the lowest volume is WAY too high.
The other problem is that the volume out of the headphone jack is way too soft. I have to bring the volume up to 30/30 to not have to crank the volume to a deafening level in the car, for example. If I forget to bring the volume down to 1/10 when I get out of the car, I get startled by a loud notification. It's a constant game of going from 1/30 to 30/30 and back to 1/30. It is very frustrating! Can we expect a fix for this sometime soon?

I agree there is a volume bug on the Lumia 900 - I have had my black Lumia for about 5-6 days now. I used my previous phones as my alarm in the morning and wanted to continue to do the same with this device. With the preinstalled alarms app, regardless of whether I have the volume at 1/30 , 15/30 or 25/30, when the alarm sounds it is incredibly loud. Not a very good way to wake up in t he morning so I am currently still using my IPhone as my alarm clock. Let's get a bug fix out for this Nokia; I am having to use a 3GS to pick up your slack.

When I burn a slideshow from wondershare fantashow the music is to loud even when I play it on the tv and turn the tv down the music burned on the dvd is still too loud and has a vibrating sound like too much volume.

Hadn't heard of it before today!
There are many ways to produce slide shows using iPhoto, iMovie or iDVD and some limit the number of photos you can use (iDVD has a 99 chapter (slide) limitation).
If what you want is what I want, namely to be able to use high resolution photos (even 300 dpi tiff files), to pan and zoom individual photos, use a variety of transitions, to add and edit music or commentary, place text exactly where you want it, and to end up with a DVD that looks good on both your Mac and a TV - in other words end up with and end result that does not look like an old fashioned slide show from a projector - you may be interested in how I do it. You don't have to do it my way, but the following may be food for thought!
Firstly you need proper software to assemble the photos, decide on the duration of each, the transitions you want to use, and how to pan and zoom individual photos where required, and add proper titles. For this I use Photo to Movie. You can read about what it can do on their website:

(Other users here use the alternative FotoMagico: http://www.boinx.com/fotomagico/homevspro/ which you may prefer - I have no experience with it.)
Neither of these are freeware, but are worth the investment if you are going to do a lot of slide shows. Read about them in detail, then decide which one you feel is best suited to your needs.
Once you have timed and arranged and manipulated the photos to your liking in Photo to Movie, it exports the file to iMovie as a DV stream. You can add music in Photo to Movie, but I prefer doing this in iMovie where it is easier to edit. You can now further edit the slide show in iMovie just as you would a movie, including adding other video clips, then send it to iDVD 7, or Toast, for burning.
You will be pleasantly surprised at how professional the results can be!

Monitoring tone too loud.

How can I lower the volume of the tone played to an agent that alert him that he is being monitored by a supervisor? The tone plays every few seconds and is too loud almost overcoming the conversation.
We are using Call Manager based silent monitoring and the agent and supervisor are using Finesse.

Seems like Monitoring notification tone is enabled on service paramaters as mentioned below,
Tone volume could not be reduced whereas you can disable the monitoring notification tone to be played out by setting the below mentioned options as false,
Play Monitoring Notification Tone to Observed Target- False
Play Monitoring Notification Tone to Observed Connected Parties- False
