Text on video or movies running in the background???

I need to be able to change text while a long video or video loop runs in the background without causing the video to restart as appears to happen when slides are changed.
How does one do this in KeyNote

One doesn't, one buys an app that is built for it, such as LiveWorship or SongScreen Liquid.
Actually, you could put ALL your text builds on ONE slide, but one mistake and you're basically screwed.

The problem started a few weeks ago with a small decrease in speed, and the videos now crash while the sound remains normal. When I open the Finder or any file it seems that I'm opening the windows with the hourglass spinning. I've already cleaned temporary, removed everything that was saved on the table, I made up for the mountain lion. I have a Mac 27-inch, 3.06 GHz processor Intel Core 2 Duo, Memory 4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3, ATI Radeon HD 4670 256 MB, Software OS X 10.8. With space on the HD.

Depends on how much free space.
Right or control click the MacintoshHD icon on your Desktop.
Click Get Info. In the Get Info window you will see Capacity and Available.
Make sure there's a minimum of 15% free disk space.

Can I zoom into a video, running in the background?

Hi Guys
Here is the situation.
I create a video in PE, using another video running in the background, and my characters and 3D content green screened in front of it.
Now I want to zoom in on my character in the forground.
I do the zoom in Poser and output the video with the green screen behind it and import it into PE,
Of course the background remains static in PE, so it doesn't look quite right because the background stays the same as the camera moves
I know how to enlarge and move the background video around, for the entire clip, but is there a way to do it gradually,
For example, can I have the video at normal framing at frame 600 and then have it move in on the image so that it enlarges gradually to the new cropping at frame 750.
Just a small amount of movement in the background will do compared to the forground content.
Then I'll match it up with the zooming camera done in Poser so that in the scene the camera will appear to move in on the whole thing not just my green screened content.
I hope I'm explaining this so it's clear.

I'm struggling through this project but once it's done I think I'm going back to 10 until the bugs get worked out.
I'm getting strange video distortions, and some other issues, it's crashed a number of times, and it takes forever to do anything.
In one of my clips the green screen would show in some areas of the clip, not all over, part of the frame would show the BG and other areas would be green.
I finally solved that by combining the object and background video in Poser, I've had problems doing that in the past but I finally go that solved.
I have to have the preview windows the size of a postage stamp in order to get to even come close to keeping up, an I have a really, really fast computer.
I can play Skyrim at 144 frames per second in stereo mode on a 27 inch 1920 by 1080 monitor.
That gives me a thought, maybe I should set my refresh rate down to 60 Fps, maybe it can't keep up with PE at that rate.
I'll try that, after I get out of here.
I am getting through the project though, slowly.
I've found that like earlier versions I can't import uncompressed video files, I always have to use some form of compression, doesn't matter what, avi, wmv. Mpeg, but if I don't compress them they won't import.
The good news it that I've had a lot of issues with the titles, and I now have a good copy of the mostly completed video saved in 2 formats, so if worse comes to worse I can grab the titles off of one of those.
I would have the titles section all done that then the next time I would open it there would be some kind of video problem.
Anyway at this point if I get stuck I'm at a point where I could import the partially finished file that I saved all in one piece and open it in 10 and finish it.
I kind of wish I had upgraded to 11 instead. LOL

GarageBand running in the background with video app open

I was wondering if GarageBand will run in the background while I'm using the video app on the iPad. Basically, I'm looking to have my guitar running into my iPad with GarageBand running, while watching/following along with a guitar video lesson I also have on my iPad. Can the two programs run simultaneously, or will the video app eliminate the sounds I would get from GarageBand? Thanks.

Yes, I've done that while playing youtube videos with the youtube app (I'm still using ios 5.1).
Just go the wrench icon in Garageband and turn on "Run in Background".

Can the width of a report that has been run in the background be increased?

How can I increase the width of a report that I have run in the background so that it does not wrap text to the next line?
I have been running the same HR report successfully in the background for many months. Today I ran it with the same parameters that I've always used and when I retrieve it from my Own Job Spool - System | Own Spool Request | Display Contents the last field is wrapped to the next line.

Thereu2019s another possibility if Tedu2019s suggestion doesnu2019t work. When you look at your spool requests, thereu2019s an icon on the toolbar next to the eyeglasses that looks like a yellow rectangular callout. Itu2019s called u201CDisplay in Maximum Widthu201D. Select the Spool no. to display and then press this icon. Shift + F4 is the shortcut.

SAFARI: running in the background:

When I access a website there is an automatic refresh of the content. When I open a different webpage with Safari, then the automatic refresh on the first page stopps! How can I have a webpage be refreshed in background?
Does Safari download content when it is minimized / not visible?
When I go back to the first page, then the automatic refresh is not there any more. The function has been de-activated by Safari on Ipad. (On a Firefox on windows there is no such problem). How can I get the same webpage behaviour than before. (I know that reloading the page does the job. But this should be automatic and not from the user)

The ipad like a lot of other mobile devices use a type of multitasking that differs from multitasking you would find on Mac OS X, Windows or Linux. Apple chooses to put most background apps on iOS devices in a suspended mode which allows the application to be paused in the background and then respond quickly when brought to the foreground. Some application functions can continue to run in the background.
Features that are allowed to run in the background are music, location services, airplay, VoIP, push notifications, but it is still up to the developers to make use of this functionality.
I don't believe Safari is one of the applications that will continue to run in the background.
Why does Apple choose to do this? Short answer: Battery life and performance. If app developers were allowed to choose whether or not to have their application to run in the background, bad programmers would quickly kill the performance and battery on the iOS device.
Some devices such as andriod phones and the blackberry playbook allow broader multi-tasking. The trade off? Andriod phones have task killers, which forces the user to manage their performance and battery life. The playbook comes shipped with a default of using suspended multi-tasking on vs. full multi-tasking - since full multi-tasking would again affect performance and battery life.
I agree it would be nice if webpages continued to load if Safari is in the background, and maybe this will be added / enabled in the future. I think Apples design provides a better user experience and still allows most of the functions to run in the background that need to. (I don't need a movie to play in the background or game).
My guess would be Safari doesn't allow background use right not because of issues like auto-refresh pages, which again would affect performance and battery.

Vi running in the background

Hi,
I try to write a VI running in the background -- but it doesn't work properly.
The VI is supposed to do the following:
hide the panel
write 1st time (actual time) to c:\temp\wtft.txt
wait 5 sec
write 2nd time (actual time) to c:\temp\wtft.txt
show the panel
wait 1 sec (just to see the panel)
exit
The hiding and exiting are easily adjustable using booleans for testing purposes. The front panel is completely empty.
Everything works as expected in the development system. But it doesn't after building an application. When running as application, the 2nd time won't be written to the text file if the panel is hidden. As far as I underst
and that's because the VI is terminated after the panel is closed. But I have a reference to the VI opened and I just close it after showing the panel again.
Can someone give me a hint what I'm doing wrong?
The VI in question is attached. We're running LabView 6.1 in Windows 2000.

A built application must always have one window visible, otherwise the application terminates, having a reference open does not help.
Opening a reference to avoid a VI from terminating is useful e.g. if you dynamically load a VI using an invoke node and the wait until finished set to false (if you close the reference the VI will terminate...the trick is to make it open a reference to itself prior to closing the reference in the caller). But again - the application must always have one window visible. That window can be minimized and/or moved off-screen, but not closed.

IE11 running in the background in Windows 7

IE 11 is running in the background and uses alot of memory where you can't watch a video or play a game. I have seen that this problem goes back to 2004 and no where is there a real solution to this problem. It is not a virus or malware.
I have run virus and malware programs and they find nothing. I have notice that when CTF loader comes up an IE 11 task starts running. All I want to know is how to stop IE 11 from running in the background. I have read many solutions to the
problem and it is obvious that many do not have any idea of the problem nor how to solve it. All I would like is a solution to the problem, if there is one.

Process runs in the background and shown as an icon next the clock (how to?

Hi guys,
I have a program that runs in the background (a daemon). It refers to a database and make some calculations. If it's not activated, the database will lack some critical information. For this propose, I eliminated the closing option from the user (it's a gui); so if the user wants to close it he must terminated the application from the 'window task manager'.
Question: how can I place this process as a small icon next to the clock on the lower right side? I don't want the process to be shown on the taskbar.

I have created a large application that is split between VB 6 and LV 6.1. The LabVIEW portion runs in the background, except that the VB portion can request that a LabVIEW user interface be presented on demand. Any time after this LabVIEW user interface has been opened and closed, opening and closing another application (or even just hiding a top-level window in another application) will cause LabVIEW to close, taking my background processing with it.
If the LabVIEW code is running as source code, LabVIEW prompts me before closing. However, when the LabVIEW code is running as an executable (.exe), the executable closes without prompting in this circumstance.
The scenario can be reproduced with a standard LabVIEW sample program. Proceed as follows:
1) Open VBToLV.vbp (the example program distributed with LabVIEW 6.1).
2) Start the VB program running.
3) Press the Launch LabVIEW button on the user interface of the VB program.
4) Enter an expression in the text box provided.
5) Select Display VI Front Panel.
6) Press the Run VI button.
7) Close the VI front panel by clicking its "X" button.
8) Open any handy application, such as Windows Explorer or Notepad.
9) Close this most-recently-opened program.
10) The LabVIEW Exit screen appears.
11) Exit LabVIEW.
12) Press the Run VI button.
13) An error occurs because LabVIEW has closed.
If the LabVIEW code had been built into an executable and called accordingly, there would have been no LabVIEW exit screen. The executable would have just exited silently.
This is not the way a COM server is supposed to behave. The VB program is still holding a valid reference to the server and it should remain open.
It appears that LabVIEW is monitoring the total number of top-level windows that are open. I suppose that this is how LabVIEW figures out when its own FP windows have been closed. In this case, it doesn't notice that all of its windows have been closed until some other window closes.
I have a work-around, but it's ugly.

Hi,
Perhaps you use references to windows in LabVIEW. If you get those
references with a full path (e.g. c:\code\subvis\vi1.vi), this will work
while in LabVIEW environment. But when an application is build, this will
fail, because the vi is no longer there. Try using the name in a string
instead (the OpenVIReference is polymorphic) with only the name of the vi in
it (e.g. vi1.vi).
There are some other isues that change when building an application. Most of
them are paths that change, and references that fail to open because of
them.

Are Apps Running In The Background All The Time?

are apps always running in the background or is just double pressing the home button just a fast way to switch to what u were doing like texting or phone or something?

When making a call, sometimes, my iPhone 5 , gets stuck on 'Calling' than I have to press END..but still nothing happens, than when I press HOME button, the call app keeps running in the background and it keeps saying CALLING... please help

When making a call, sometimes, my iPhone 5 , gets stuck on 'Calling' than I have to press END..but still nothing happens, than when I press HOME button, the call app keeps running in the background and it keeps saying CALLING... than I have to wait 2 - 3 minutes and call again.
please help

Has nothing to do with the SIM or master reset. This has been done to my phone. The SIM once and the factory reset many times over. You all just sold us a bad piece of equipment and have us by the tail with our contracts so none of us can get a new phone without paying full price or re-upping our contract. I just got off the phone last night with your high up tech people (you know, the hidden number we get once we tear into your support people enough), they went into my phone again and still didn't find anything wrong. I about got fired from my job for not getting my calls and texts. The BBB has now been contacted, and I feel your end should shore this up for all of us!
