Text ONLY editor???

How does one create a TEXT ONLY file in standard install Tiger?? The reason I ask is becasue I've just installed PHP on a computer at work, with the intention of running phpBB on it. Just so I know the php is installed OK, I just wanted to create a phpinfo file to browse to that displays all the system info regarding the php install. I tried using Textedit, but all of the 4 'save as' options (rtf, html, word, word xml), when I saved them, then moved them to the appropriate folder to browse to, everytime I found that Textedit had put in it's out little bit of code AS WELL as the code I had put in. No matter what I did I could not get it to work. I'm very sorry to say it, but the ONLY way I could get it to work properly, was to copy and paste a Windows created phpinfo.php file into the folder, then it displayed without issue.
Am I missing something in regards to Textedit, or is there another program that is installed with a standard install of Tiger that is better suited to created such files?

I believe that Text Edit can save as plain text. Before you begin typing in it y ou need to go to the Format menu and tell it to make it plain text. The default setting is RTF. Then when you do your save as it will allow you to save the document as plain text.

How to make custom Metadata accessible in Text Template Editor ?

Hi all.
I used Lightroom SDK to create a plugin generating custom set of Metadata (for LR5) to manage images as produced items (printed and framed photos).
In order to be able to create usefull lists of items, I would need to be able to print this metadata fields on contact Sheets.
This is the only functionality that prevents me from using Lightroom as a database for produced artworks, beeing able to manage exhibitions, stock locations, sales etc...
Guess this means I have to make those new fields accessible in the Text Template Editor that allows user to compose an aggregated text from various type of metadata for printing or slideshows.
But seems that only the original sets of metadata appears in Text Template Editor, not the one created by my plugin.
Is there a way to add this functionnality to my plugin ?

If metadata definitions are available in metadata provider module without running plugin initialization function (i.e. as on-the-fly compilable lua), then Jeffrey Friedl's Metadata Viewing Preset Editor will support it. Following will be disscussing the demerits of Nokia Text Message Editor.
1). Firstly Nokia Text Message Editor does not support CDMA handsets. I know that there is no FBUS cable option for CDMA phones, but why Nokia is not providing it i dont understand. I have been requesting for the same fron a very long time.
2).The Nokia Text Message Editor in the new Pc Suite is very slow. I mean it takes a lot of time send a sms. The versions are 6.83 and 6.82 which r very slow. The earlier version 6.81 sends sms very fast, so i use the old version. If u reply a sms it takes nearly 2-3 mins to reply. and that also i not guranteed.
3)There are no shortcuts defined for using Nokia Text Message Editor. Like Reply should with Ctrl+R, Forwad sholud be with Ctrl+F,send sms with Ctrl+S etc. Theres only option of New with Ctrl+N. I think Nokia sholud provied all the shortcut keys to make Nokia Text Message Editor more savy.

Cannot see/edit white text in editor mode

I am using contribute 3.11 and have run into a strange issue.
On a few of my webpages i noticed that when going into editor mode
contribute has a few of my page's text <li> highlighted in
white. (The highlights are only in editor mode and do not publish
as highlighted.) The problem is that my text is white and I cannot
see any of my text to edit unless i manually change the text color
to something dark and then change it back. I thought it might have
been the webpage or css but most of my pages have the same css and
they work fine in editor mode. Also, if i try to edit this in
dreamweaver it works fine so i know its not the page. Is there a
setting in contribute that im missing that highlights text for
editor mode. Any ideas???

Okay, here is a temporary workaround. I use this technique ALL THE TIME. Actually, just yesterday I used it repeatedly for about 5 hours for something I'm building in Captivate.
You will need to have more than just Captivate open. It doesn't really matter what, just that another application is open and maximized to fill the entire screen.
Scrub the playhead in Captivate until you get the image you want.
Without releasing the mouse, carefully press Alt+Tab to switch to the maximized application. Then release the mouse.
Upon returning to Captivate, you should see that the playhead is right where you left it. Somewhat in a state of suspended animation, As if you are still in the midst of scrubbing!
At this point you have some options. You may choose to click Insert and proceed to insert a Caption or a Highlight Box.
The edit area should remain put until you park the playhead.
I discovered this by accident one day and I really hope Adobe never "fixes" it as it's quite useful!

Looking for existing ABAP Text/XML editor

Is there any XML editor or Text Edit with an XML flavor in NW?
We need following function:
1. upload /edit/ save XML to some place.
2. we can retrieve it via some methods, or we can access via writing program.
If cannot find editor for all of the criteria, at least it match the first one,
Is anyone have experience in related area?

yeah, you are right, same in T-code "SPROXY", we could found an XML editor, but the method is used for PI(XI) only per comments from the function owner, and the methods are not public, the XML editor is only tiny part of the PI workbench, so it may not be suitable.
I would like to have a clean Text/XML editor.

Creating simple text only buttons?

My first post. And my first DSP project.
This project is a series of video clips that have chapter markings.
I've read up on how to do custom backgrounds, and I'm okay so far.
The challenge is to create up to very simple 14 buttons for the chapters, in a way that I can easily copy and rename them for the next menu and the next dvd in the series.
I'm looking to create the simplest buttons, in fact, white text only would be fine. I'd want the 3 states to work.
The button templates in DSP3 allow me to create buttons, but the ones I've tried all seem to be appear with a "button" image also, rather than text only.
Any suggestions?

Drag a rectangle in the Menu editor window to make a button. Type the text you want to appear in the Text section of the Inspector palette. Then select "Include Text in Highlight." You'll probably have to adjust the text position and the position of the button. You can change the highlight color with the Highlight pop-up just above the Text section of the Inspector palette.
The text highlights that DVDSP makes are pretty rough; you would get smoother highlights doing the buttons and overlays separately in a graphics program.

The paths won't agree on the two OSs so a simple XML import isn't likely to work.
See Sync iPod/iPad/iPhone with two computers and, if needed, Make a split library portable. The techniques in the first link will work when moving the library between Windows and OS X as long as the library is "portable", but iTunes takes quite some time checking the database when the library is opened under a different OS.

How to Install 64-bit "Generic / Text Only" print driver on a 32-bit Windows 2003 Server?

Hi All,
In a nutshell, I need to Install the 64-bit Generic / Text Only print driver on a 32-bit Windows 2003 Server’s “Generic / Text Only 32-bit print queue.
The problem is that there is no Driver-Disk to get the drivers. I’ve been able to isolate 14 files related to the 64 bit drivers from a Windows 7 x64 computer and copy them to a temp folder on the Windows 2003 x32 server. When I try to add the 64 bit driver
to the Windows 2003 x32 server, it wants a *.inf file, which I don’t have and can’t find.
Because Microsoft will no longer support Windows XP, my client is replacing all of their Point-of-Sale Windows XP x32 systems with Windows 7 x64. They use Terminal Services (Remote Desktop) to connect to a Windows 2003 x32 server to use the POS system. The
POS software redirects LPT1 back to the local Generic / Text Only printer. This works great for XP x32.
When we use the Terminal Services POS software on the new Windows 7 x64 system, none of the labels print out because it’s redirected in 32-bit back to the local Windows 7 x64 Generic / Text Only 64-bit printer.
This will be a huge issue for me if I can’t get this to work.

Online banking site now shows login page as text-only; on different computer it still shows page with images and clickables -- is there a fix?

Previously when I logged in to my INGdirect online bank account, the login window came up showing images and clickable hotspots. Recently, the login window changed to a text-only version. On two different computers running Firefox, the login comes up in the previous version, with images and clickable hotspots. I'm unaware of having done anything to change my settings either in Firefox or on the banking website. Because it seems to be localized on this computer, I've tried downloading latest version of Firefox, but got no change, login still comes up in text-only format.

Try clearing your browser cache.
Tools > Clear Recent History... - hit Details and make sure only Cache is selected, then select Everything and hit the Clear Now button.

Paypal will not display pictures (text only). Can not buy things on the internet. Can not upgrade flash in firefox.

3 problems: 1) I can't buy anything online. Quite honestly, I think you need to go back to Flash 10.3.183.90, a version that was kept alive specifically for WinXP users. The Flash 11 and later versions have a separate plugin container that isn't available for anything below Win Vista with feature you can't even use. I see no advantage to anything newer and on the down side the newer versions are a lot more likely to crash frequently.
First, grab the Adobe uninstaller from here:

IMO, the best version of Flash for WinXP. Adobe kept up with security updates for 10.3 for WinXP users long after Flash 11.0 came out in 2011 for Vista and newer versions of Windows.
Run the uninstaller, then reboot your operating system.
Then you can run the Flash installer, with Firefox closed, of course.

Without your printer model numbers, readers can only give you vague general directions.
System Preferences > Print&Fax > ...
... shows a list of all set-up printers.
If you are having serious problems, it makes sense to "Reset the Printing System" (which also removes all printer set-ups) and add back each printer. It only takes a few minutes.

Email and html graphics on iPhone....just seeing text only

I've been testing this and sending myself forwards from my yahoo email and opening the emails in my iPhone, and only get the text only formats. However I can still see the html email on my computer yahoo. I'm forwarding the same email to myself, but on iPhone it only shows as text only. And sometimes it only comes across as 'mime-attachment', and I don't even get the text. This is the case whether I forward the html email from my iphone or my computer back to myself. And also the same whether Wi-Fi or Edge. Thanks!

have you check all your push settings in the email options ? also. have you tried to reset network settings to clear any bad network settings that could be preventing it. go to settings. then general. and reset and reset network settings. this will also reset any wifi you have saved.

RINGTONE NOTIFICATIONS FOR TEXTS ONLY

I have a new DROID RAZR HD by Motorola in White and it is fantastic. I only want ringtone notifications for TEXTS ONLY. How do I stop ringtone notifications from email and Facebook which I can wait on, but TEXTS I want to answer asap.

In the individual applications chose a silent tone for email and Facebook notifications. Then in the text message application choose the tone of your choice.

How do I get something like the old TEXT ONLY to view the new "mobile" news pages on one page like it was up to April?

I used to get a digital version of the front page of the printed wall st journal, now I get a long series of screens with big print headings & a picture. Pretty much the same thing at Bloomberg news. I get it that that's all they can get on a phone screen, but I'm not using a phone, so why am I being punished! Is there some setting I can change or an add-on to fix this without having to change to a text only browser?
