Text placed within a blank composition thumbnail causes errors in preview mode?

Greetings Adobe Community,
I'm having some trouble placing text within a blank compositions thumbnail. While in design mode everything is fine and dandy, however, as soon as I preview my design, both in browser and preview mode the thumbnail gets displaced. It's very annoying and I can't seem to stop it from happening.
I've tried to upload pictures detailing the issue but I keep getting this message (below) which should probably be a question topic of it's own.
"An error occurred trying to retrieve data from server. Please try again in a few minutes. Error Code: Object doesn't support property or method 'createContextualFragment'"
Anyway I uploaded the images to photobucket.

Placing .indd file in another .indd causes errors

I am working with CS6 on a Windows 7 machine and I frequently place .indd files into other indd. files.
Quite often indesign crashes when I have both of those indesign files opened. Just as I make changes in one of them and save it, indesign stops working and I am forced to close it.
It maybe be important to note, that files are not saved on a local computer, all .indd files I am working with are on internal network.
I am used to these crashes now and I try not to worry about them too much, but recently I experienced something really bad, where I can't find an explanation.
I have linked 2 .indd files in one. Display performance is set to HIGH QUALITY.
Here is a screenshot of how it looks - ALL FINE.

How can it be, that the headline, the logo and another text box on the right .indd file is missing now?
It is exactly the same .indd file on both sides. The layer options for both of them are the same. All of those elements are on the same layer.
I get no errors in preflight, no missing links in links panel. If I click edit original on the right .indd file, it opens up and all is perfect.
I also noticed, that sometimes it is the other way around, setting to typical display shows all objects, setting to high, makes some disappear.
In my case, I was working with high quality display performance, exported as postscript file and sent to print.
Those objects did not print out.
Does anyone knows what is the cause of this? Or has anyone experienced anything like this?

Desktop Software Installation causes errors from sleep mode

After I install the desktop software, when my laptop wakes from sleep mode, I get an error message saying "Idle Task Manager" is not working. When I uninstall the software the message goes away.
I'm running Windows 7 64-bit on a lenovo thinkpad. Anyone know how to fix this?

Some suggestions: go to the list of downloads for the T500/W500 series and look at the list of problem fixes for the most recent and prior BIOS updates for your machine (look for the "Summary of Changes" section 2/3rds into the document). If you are still using an older BIOS version and a fix is listed for something like your problem--the descriptions are really minimalistic, so it's not easy to judge--then you might want to consider a BIOS upgrade.
Since a BIOS update affects a truly critical part of your notebook, and a mistake can lead to a totally disabled machine, reading the NOTES section of that document is essential before updating the BIOS: there may be prerequisites to doing it correctly.
Usually just using the ThinkVantage System Update application is the most simple way of doing the update. BIOS updates, if they are available for your particular machine, are listed on the "Optional" tab in the application. It is wise to temporarily disable any active anti-virus or malware scanning software before doing any Lenovo Updates, and especially so before a critical update like the BIOS.
If you use the Intel AMT features, then probably you should also update the firmware/software for that as well, since it ties into the rest of the BIOS. (Again, thoroughly examining the updates' Notes document is essential before proceeding.)

Preview Mode Thumbnails showing up Blank

PLEASE HELP.
Some thumbnails of pages in Preview Mode are showing up as blank.
I have tried...
1. Restarting Muse
2. Re-Opening the document
3. Turning thumbnails on/off in Preview Mode
4. Opening those specific pages, making edits, then closing them
None of the above has fixed this issue.

I am on Mac OSX 10.7.3 w/ 8GB RAM

Is this a memory / cache issue? Please advise as I can upgrade my memory and continue working if this is the issue.

I was able to fix the entire .muse document by recreating my masters and individually going into each page and shifting the page content from -7500 y axis back to the position they should be at. It was tedious but I am now progressive.
Unfortunately each master had a header line that was already at its top most position 0px. Messing with these did not fix any of the thumbnails.
Appreciating the feedback - I represent a team of 6 who will be subscribing to Muse very soon for professional production.

Editing text in the blank composite target box?

I am having a very hard time editing text inside the composite target box. Sometimes it moves outside the target box and operates as a static text box. The target box itself shows/hides correctly though the text is not part of it.
I am unable to use the blank composite widget to place grahics and text boxes inside the target box.
There has to be a subtle principle I do not grasp yet.
Clues or help is apprecaited.

If you have placed the text inside target then it should work fine. It may be a chance that the text frame is not inside the target but on it.
You can check that , if the text frame is inside target then you would get the interface option for text frame ( small blue circle ). But if the text frame is simply placed on the target then you wont get that interface option when you click text frame.

Center text horizontally and vertically on composition?

Hello,
I'm working on a short projects (15 minutes length). Every 30 seconds a title fade in/out against a blank (grey) composition. How do I go about easily centering the text (single word) on the composition both horizontally and vertically? I know I can horizontally center via the paragraphs pallet, but how do I center on the vertical at the same time?
Right now I'm modifying the Anchor Point of the text so it's in the center (visually) of the text, and then set the Position to the center of the composition, but every time I increase the type size, I have to go through this all over again...and with different titles coming up every 30 seconds or so, a simple text size change turns into a lot of work.
I can only image there's a better way to do this and would appreciate any advice for an AE newb!

It is possible to do this via scripting, but it won't be "live", i.e. you would have to run a script to grab the dimensions of the text layer each time you want to update its vertical alignment.
It is also possible to roughly align text vertically using expressions given three limitations:
1) You'll have to be willing to consider the height of the text layer to only extend from the cap height of the first line to the baseline of the last line, meaning descenders and ascenders wouldn't be counted as part of the height of the text layer.
2) You'll have to manually locate the center of the first line of text.
3) You'll have to be happy with a consistent point size and line spacing throughout.
Given those limitations, vertical alignment can be done as follows:
Add a Position animator to your text layer. Delete the default range selector you won't need it. Next add the Line Spacing property to the newly-created animator (using its "Add" menu). In the Character panel, set your text layer's line spacing to 0 (it will really be set to .01, but the difference shouldn't be noticeable once we're done). In the Line Spacing animator, set the desired line spacing (unfortunately, "Auto" isn't an option).
Now set your Text layer's anchor point such that it falls in the center of the text's cap height (the height of a capital letter with no ascender or descenders).
Next, add the following expression to the Position property of the text animator (NOT the Position property of the text layer's Transform group):

>value - [0, (STA.length-1)*propertyGroup(countUp = 2).property.lineSpacing[1]]/2
The second line should be all one line, but the forum insists on wrapping it. Be aware that if you later decide to change the point size of the font, you'll need to temporarily disable the text animator and center up the anchor point again.
You can also use this method to force the text layer to shift up to accommodate new lines by deleting the "/2" at the end of the second line of the expression.

This happened to me also, a few days ago... I went to look at pics that were sent from just one person, all the other photos that people texted are there during same time period. It is only this one contacts several photos that disappeared... There is an arrow when I click on it it goes to a blank page?!? Have you received any feedback or answers?? Did your photos that are missing come from only one person or multiple? If you have any information that might help let me know!!! I really want them back!! Thanks much!

My master button made with a Blank Composition box displays under the content on the child pages

I made my main menu buttons with a blank composition box. I have the button on the B-Master page so it displays the same at the top of every page. When I preview it and click open the buttons they seem to open a layer underneath the content on the child page. Is anyone familiar with this problem and have a solution?

After much trial in error, I found that you must put your composition in the top layer, the header layer. Perhaps Muse is doing to you what it was doing to me. I created another master page within one of my files and when I was adding the composition box, it was going into the my "home" layer. Grab your composition "meatball" and put it into your "header" layer and voila! Problem solved. Your composition contents will show on top of your page contents. Thanks for the question. "Close" button in Blank Composition Options "Parts" Box Isn't Operational?

I'm using a blank composition with targets to add menu choices within a page. I can open the target boxes with "Stay on Rollout" or "Hide on Rollout" by mousing over the trigger. I want the target box to stay as long as the cursor is over it because I'm putting additional hyperlinks inside the target box. However, when I roll out of the target box I want the box to disappear so I can see the page behind it again, IF no new navigation was chosen inside the composition target box. Right now the "close" button in the "Parts" section of the Composition Options menu appears to be non-operational. I can only choose to have the target stay on rollout, or hide on rollout. If I choose stay, I have to mouse over another trigger to make the first box hide again. Am I using this wrong? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Unfortunately it's a new product that I can't put up a link to yet.
However, no page elements are overlapping on top of the "close" button; in fact the button is just grayed-out in the Parts Menu, you can't select it, it seems non-operational.
Basically what I'm trying to do is use a blank composition to create "fly-outs" within a page. It works partially well, except for the issues i delineated in my original post. Is this the best way to create fly out menus? Here is a link to another site that does what I'm attempting to replicate:

If you mouse over the menu items in the main menu at the top of the page, you'll see flyouts which will either hold if you move the cursor over one and/or select a navigation trigger inside that flyout, or disappear when you mouse over another main menu item and then a new flyout appears from that. It's a nice effect, I'd like to do the same on my project.

CRXI Export to text - suppressed section creates blank lines

I'm using CRXI Proffesional - full version 11.5.11.1470
I have a report that uses the typical "stealth" subreport to obtain and pass info to the container, but remains invisible in preview mode. The fields in the subreport are all suppressed, the sections in the subreport are suppressed if blank and the subreport itself is suppressed when blank, the section that contains the subreport is also suppressed if blank.
This has always worked fine to get info into the container from the subreport while not creating any "white space" on the report.
Print preview and export to pdf both function just fine, omitting the blank lines.
It seems that exporting this to a text file is now creating blank lines for each occurence of the subreport.
I have seen this problem in a couple of forums but have not seen a resolution yet.
Does anybody have any idea how I can stop the exporting of suppressed blank sections ?

When you say "...from the Report Viewer. The report printed as expected on HP printer...", do you mean the viewer of the .NET app, or the viewer of the CR designer?
And version 12.0.0.683, is very old (well as far as CR is concerned anyhow ). That version is SP 1, we are now on SP 2. So that will be the place to start. Get to SP 2 which can be downloaded from here;

I need to know how to put more than 1200 characters in a text form within a pdf created in Adobe Acrobat. I have a request from a customer to do so and after googling I have came up with nothing. Also the customer would like it if they could convert said pdf form to a microsoft word document with the text form.

There's no limit on the number of characters you can enter into a text
field, unless you set it as such.

Can I add a new trigger to the beginning instead of at the end of a blank composition widget?

Hi guys,
I am creating a photo gallery page using the Blank Composition widget. I want to be able to add new content regularly by adding new photos to the top (beginning) of the gallery so my newest photos show at the beggining of the gallery.
Currently, the little + symbol to add another trigger only adds a new trigger to the right (bottom) of group of triggers, effectively putting newly added content to the back of the gallery instead of at the front. Am I able to get it to add a new trigger to the beginning of the group and have that trigger be the first in the group to display?
All the widget's seem to display this same order behaviour, so I'm quite stuck on how to get around this. I've tried re-arranging the triggers, but that has become insanely cumbersome every time I want to add new photos to the beginning of the group and move the older ones further down the gallery order.
Any help would be greatly appreciated with this, cheers, David.

I have the same problem. I've looked at some recommended 3rd party widgets and they don't do what I want either.
Another method would be to start a nabble.com blog and embed that in to Muse, but then the news would not be seen by web crawlers and benefit your ranking on your own page. (I think)
This is a rubbish work around but, I'm going to add a new news widget every month. I only get 5-6 bits of news a month, so by adding a new widget above the last each time, that will push the old news down the page.
