Text read confirmation
Is there any way to know when the recipient has read their text message? I have a 6133
No, if supported by the network you can be told when a message has been delivered but not when it's been read.
If you want to be notified when it's been delivered look for the delivery reports option in the message settings. You will find out if it's supported if you receive a delivery report.

OK, I try it again (for the fifth time or so), maybe anywhere in the big microsoft world there is ONE support engineer that is able to recognize a bug and hand it over to the development????
In several cases the read receipt does not contain the sending time of the original message, instead it contains (quite senseless) the time when the receipt itself has been sent.
The only information in the read receipt is the subject of the original mail which may be identical in longer mailthreads to several (dozends of) mails. So in this implementation you are not able to find out to which message a read receipt really relates.
So we cannot prove at all if a single mail in a thread has been read or not. The printout of such a receipt does not have any information that can be used in a meeting or discussion.
Since this situation obviously lasts for several years I'd like to ask
how I can get a working read-receipt-functionality for professional eMail-handling???
It seems that the problem does not lie in the content of the MDN sent by the Exchange server.
If I look into a copy of such a sent MDN with Thunderbird, it tells me for example, that my mail, sent on 15th Juli 2013 14:43:47 (UTC+1) has been read on 15th Juli 2013 14:50:08, which is correct.
But in combination with Outlook I get the same MDN displayed like follows:
Your message at... subject... sent Monday, 15. Juli 2013 14:51:30 (UTC+01:00)... has been read on Monday, 15. Juli 2013 14:51:16 (UTC+01:00) (Text translated from German to English)
So Outlook exchanges the timestamps and falsifies the content of the MDN.
This does only appear in combination with an Exchange server. If I work with a POP3 account and Outlook and send a message to an Exchange 2010 mailbox the correct timestamps are displayed within the returned MDN-message.
All involved systems are set to German (DE-de), the timezone on all systems is UTC+1
Here a small table with my tests
I've used Outlook on all Clients, 2010 and 2013.
Sender: sends initial mail and gets the Reading Confirmation
Receiver: gets the initial mail and sends the MDN
Sender | Receiver | MDN Display
POP3 | Exchange | correct
Exchange | Exchange | fail (displays wrong "sent"-time)
POP3 | POP3 | correct
Exchange | POP3 | fail (displays wrong "sent"-time)
It is obvious this cannot be a "feature". This is different behaviour depending on the senders Account type and one of this two scenarios must be a bug.
Could you help me further on this, please?Almost no - the MS-Support here in this website was completely overchallenged to even understand this issue. I've tried several times to address this in this forum with no success. The "supporters" here had only one target - to quickly get this
"complicated" case off their desks.
The Office 365 support was much more competent and able to understand the problem. They escalated this to the development team (which lasted about 3 months, dozends of telephone calls and about 20 hours working time, which I had to donate to Microsoft freely)
and located the Problem in Exchange Server.
The result was that they promised to fix it in Exchange Server 2013, but there will be no Bugfix in Exchange 2010. I am waiting for the fulfilment of this promise since over 6 months.
Microsoft seems not to have any problem to leave their (professional and very expensive) Exchange software in a buggy state.
My conclusion: If Exchange 2010 runs out of maintenance I'll switch to Linux and Zarafa Server. The Zarafa guys are able to understand and fix their bugs and I do not have to donate thousands of Euros in working time only to get them understanding their
own bugs.
PS: You need only to press F1 in Office, especially in Access in the German language variant and you get an impressing lesson how desolate Microsoft is working today. Pressing F1 in Access 97 or XP lets you know, how much better they were some years ago.
An impressive deep fall down to the ground.

Is it possible to use Siri to send text messages to groups (categories, distribution lists)? I want to be able to say to Siri "Send a text message to the people in 'group 4' category." I then dictate the text message, confirm, and out it goes. Groups of 100 to 250 contacts. What app(s), if any, would I need? Is this in anyway dependent on my carrier?
Thanks in advance for your help.Hmmm, that's strange - just checked again and it is 1066288.

When will Apple have a searchable text reader and upload file capability?
When will Apple have a searchable text reader and upload file capability? I have a large text file I need to upload to my iPhone, search, and dial.
Anything planned?I had a Palm the I used for work and travel it had a very nice application called DOCUMENTS TO GO. It allowed you to upload, view, and edit .doc, .xls, and .ppt files. this was very handy when traveling. Also, I could sync my palm with my iMac and work PC using bluetooth, took care of the file transfers as well. I would like to have the same capability on my iPhone. I bought it to replace all of my old stuff i need it to the same as my old stuff. I hope that Apple reads this and gets on the ball. Until then I still have to carry my Palm or thumb drive on trips.

How do you have your texts read to you on the Incredible? Is there something that's built into the phone or do I have to download an app?

Hi wirtz99,
The Droid Incredible device does not include an application to read out your incoming messages. Such application may exist in the Android Market.
Please keep in mind that Verizon Wireless does not support third party application and if you need any technical support for third party applications only the application developer can provide assistance. -
Everytime I download a program and select it from the download menu, the download only opens from the text reader. How do I get my downloads to open properly?
Are these downloads applications? Your download folder is just a "temporary parking" area. They need to be installed first - double/control click the file; this should open a finder window with either an installer that will automatically install it or it may show it and an alias to the applications folder. Drag the app onto that alias. You can then open the newly installed app from the applications folder or the Launchpad if you use it.

Is there any apps for sms or text reader???
Is there any apps for sms or text reader???
Hi shishirtusi,
Thank you for your question, I understand that you would like to know if there is a browser available for the Firefox OS platform that asks for the desktop version of a site, instead of the mobile one.
There was a bug filed for this feature in the earlier devices of Firefox OS, however there is currently no ETA on when they will include this feature in the Firefox OS browser.
I understand that this news may be frustrating. However, the [Bug 833150 - Support "Request Desktop mode" in browser app in Firefox OS ] and other bugs for specific devices are bugs that I have found that shows it has been requested before.
There is also a place in Bugzilla to suggest features here [https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/form.fxos.feature] however I cannot estimated time when this will be available. -
When I start Final Cut Pro X it don´t come further then to the blue-red window Final Cut Pro X Version 10.0 and underneath that the text Reading "Musik vid Siljan - dag 5" event. Please help me!!!!
It seems something is corrupt in that event. One thing to try is to temporarily move the folder for that event out of the Final Cut Events folder using the Finder. Then try to open FCP X. If it now opens, you know that event is corrupt. As to how to fix a corrupt event? Not sure there is a better way than reimporting the media as a new event.

Send email without reading confirmation
Hi experts,
I have an implementation in CRM 7.0. If a contract with special attributes is saved, in event management I trigger the sending of an email. This email is sent to a special email address and the sender email address is the one of the creating user.
Now, somehow have the effect, that if the recipient deletes or reads this system email, the user, who created the contract always gets an outlook reading confirmation or deleting information.
Does anybody has an idea how to suppress this reading and deletion information? I use the following standard class: cl_crm_email_data. I couldn't find a parameter to unable this setting.
Thanks in advance!
Best regards,
MireilleHi,

Enter the text while confirmation
hi gurus,
While prod. we have a byproduct we want to enter text there so that we can see that this perticular material is generated from this work center, date and time. can i enter the text against component in co11n > component overview.
Thanks and regards,
SolomonHi Solomon
You can enter reason for movement in the component screen so maintain reason for movement for by product ie movement type 531 , give the WC from which this material is produced in the reason for movement and u can select it form the drop down when u do the confirmation. This is the best option u can give & is very satisfactory. U can also make the reason for movement mandatory in the movement type settings for 531
Thanks & Regards
