Ok, I received a text message from an apparently Louisianna area code, as a group message. It said to click the link and I won or was being credited a free month off my bill. I clicked it to look, and it requested my login and password as well as my social security number. I didn't fill anything out seeing as that seemed too sketchy. Has this happened to anyone else?!

That is a scam trying to get your personal information. NEVER click on those links. If it is too good to be true, it most likely is and is trying to get your information.

Your text messages? Your MyVerizon account will keep the to and from details of text messages for three months. The content of the messages have never been online. The only way to view the messages is from the device.

Haven't been able to make/receive calls or texts for a month

I've had no service on my phone for a month now and haven't been able to make or receive calls or texts. I've had my phone (iphone 4) for almost a year now, one day it was fine, the next it wasn't. It literally just happened over night. My sim card works fine in other phones so i know thats not the problem.
After an endless amount of phone calls to O2 and no solution to the problem, I've now been told that my phone isn't reading the sim card properly and my phone needs to be sent to Apple. I'd take it to a store but the nearest one is 45 miles away and I don't drive so it's not very easy to get to. Also, as i bought it from a different website and not from an apple store and don't have any proof of purchase or warranty, would they still be able to fix it for me?
I recently went to Spain and while I was there my phone worked perfectly and I could call and text as usual, but as soon as I got back to the UK it stopped working again which suggests to me that it's nothing to do with my phone, as it was able to read the sim card fine in another country. Would I achieve anything by getting it unlocked and changing to another network?
Has anybody encountered anything like this before or have any solutions to the problem? After a month of this i'm at my wits end!!

Thanks for the reply. I bought the phone on november the 1st 2011 and it has worked perfectly until the end of last month when it started saying 'no service', and no this didn't occur during an update or restore. I don't make many calls or send texts a lot so I don't know when exactly when it did happen but I know it was working on september the 28th and it wasn't on september the 30th, I didnt update, restore or anything. When I bought it, (cant remember exactly where i bought it but it was an online shop), it was sold as being on the O2 network.
I contacted the network and they said they could unlock it, so maybe i'll try it on the Orange network instead as I managed to use that without any problems in Spain.

Is Caller Display free or not free for 12 months?

When BT announced there would be a charge of £1.75 pm for Caller Display, they also stated this service would be free for 12 months if the subscriber renewed their contract for one year. i rang BT and agreed to take up the offer.
I have looked at the past 2 bills and they have the following line entries. Here's the latest bill, word for word:
1. BT Privacy at Home - Caller Display   28 Apr - 27 May 14
This is the cost of your BT Privacy at Home - Caller Display up to 27 May 2014 at £1.75 a month   £1.75
2. BT Privacy with Caller Display free for 12 months 28 Apr - 27 May 14   £0.00
I queried the £1.75 charge shown on line 1. via BT online webchat and here's BT's response, again word for word:
"BT Privacy With Caller Display is free but for BT Privacy at Home you will be charged £1.75"
You will notice that in their reply they have omitted 'Caller Display' after 'at Home' although the bill clearly shows this at line 1. above.
Can somebody please tell me should I be paying £1.75 a month? If this is so then will line 2. revert to a further £1.75 after the 12 month's expiry which will mean £3.50 a month in total'.
I just thought as a simpleton that I was getting Caller Display entirely free for 12 months by signing a new contract. Maybe life is not that simple?

Well it isn't. Had there had been such a credit on the bill I would not have raised a bill query with BT or this forum.
Below is my total bill where you can see I have no credit shown. It all adds up to £34.50 including the £1.75 Caller Display fee.
I cannot get a reply out of BT or even an acknowledgement to my email querying the charge. What do you suggest I do? Send a specific mail giving them 7 days' notice that I will cancel the Direct Debit and send a cheque less the missing credits, if I don't receive a satisfactory answer?

Whatever happens you have proven BT owes me £1.75 for each month this has occurred. May I therefore use your name and your answer in a further email to BT? It will be interesting to see if that prompts a response.

I had bought a new MacBook Pro last month, As the Apple staff was telling me that I would be able to get a free Lion OS which will be release on this month. He again telling me that Apple will send an email to me with redeem code for the Free Lion OS, So that's no need to wait until next months for the new OS to release.
But until now i still haven't receive any email from Apple regarding Free Lion OS to the user who purchase in the early month before the new OS release.
So my concern here's is that a truth that Apple will send redeem code for Free Lion OS to the early month purchase before new OS release. or just the Apple staffs created it own stories.

We users can't speak for Apple about your free Lion status or problems downloading, reissuing a download.
It's possible Apple could be spacing out the downloads as not to knock theservers offline. So be patient.
If after a week or so when the initial rush is over, and you still haven't gotten your Lion, I suggest you contact Apple.
Mission critical
If your using Mac's in a mission critical type environment or have third party hardware or software you must rely upon working correctly. It's advised to wait until all the bugs, driver updates, third party software and other issues are resolved before upgrading. This might take several months. Then if you do so, do one machine at a time andcarefully test everything before full deployment.

Hi,I have received an email saying that I can have free Worldwide calls for one month. I am going to Tunisia at the end of April and want to ring UK every day because my parents both have cancer.So if I use my UK mobile phone in Tunisia to ring a UK landline number will it be completely free? or will I have to pay a rate per minute. I can't believe it'll be completely free. In fact if the calls don't have to be paid for, at £8.49 a month it'll be worth doing every time I go on holiday. Thanks in advance

Hello, I moved to Amsterdam recently and the "pay as you go" plan is now not practical.I attempted to sign up for Unlimited World calls to landline and mobiles but when I selected Free trial button, I received a message that the offer expired or is not available to my skype login. I only have one Skype login.I just signed up for Premium service thinking maybe I need to do this first, then I can upgrade to Unlimited World but that didn't work either.How can I sign up for Unlimited World? So, I've decided to give EE a go as their coverage is far better than my current provider who'm I've been with for many years.I've decided to try things on PAYG first, just to make sure it lives up to my expectations.With my new PAYG card, it advised me to Top up to get 10GB 'on us'....simple top up, then text TEN to 150!And thats it! Nothing happends.I get a reply 'We Couldn't recgnise your Response!' I've used my PAYG phone, Data, and Texts..but still nothing added to my account.I'm constantly seeing a clock counting down the time I've got left to claim this extra 10GB.. Any Ideas?

Do not show dots for 'free' events in the calendar month view

I wish I could.... not show dots for 'free' events in the calendar month view. For an overview of when I have hard-scheduled events in the calendar it's pretty tedious and slow to go day -by day, and other views... Instead the dot in the month view... - why does it show even "free" events? Any ideas, tips?

Most of the current Apple Intel based computers are comparable in CPU speed. I don't think it is so much the model of laptop as it is the memory, and storage capacity of the machine. If you are going to use FCP on a regular basis, perhaps as a professional or semi-professional, then you should think about the maximum memory and a very large capacity internal disk drive. For instance, one hour of finished compressed video will take up about 1.5 to 2Gbytes of disk space. If you add up the raw footage and still imagery and audio, you'll use up your disk drive capacity real quick. So a hard disk on the order of 750Gbytes @ 7200rpms might be good for video editing. 5400RPMs might be slow to rendering times. Rendering a video might take up a lot of memory so more memory is better e.g. 8Gbytes.
As a rule of thumb, once you get to about 80% of your disk drive or memory you'll see degradation of performance.
You can check out macsales.com. THey have a menu system that will allow you to pick and choose from various alternatives. BTW, it's been said that although Macs are typically spec'd at a certain memory size, macsales.com found that Apple computers will actually support higher memory levels. That is, if 4Gbytes are spec'd, some machines support 6Gbytes. macsales.com will provide the guidance for you.
You might also consider buying an external disk e.g. 500Gbytes to carry around with you for back-up or transport to another machine.

For example, this program works really well with saving long text using the SAVE_TEXT function. Here you need to create the object/id in SE75. For this program you enter the id on the right like 999999 and enter the text on the left, execute and the text is saved, now change the id to 999998 and hit enter, notice the text is blank, now enter 999999 again, notice the text for this id has come back, this is because the program uses READ_TEXT to retrieve the text.

Yes, this is implemented using a selection screen, but the same principals apply and this can be easily converted to a dynpro application.

I called Apple technical support in Denmark, but with no positive reply.
She couldn't do anything, and said that They had sent a recall Email about the problem and with their offer to repair the Macbook Pro, but I'd never recieved an Email about the problem. She wasn't in power to make an exception. It can't be true that i paid a lot of money, for a product that can't barely stand on its own feets, Apple didn't tell me that the product I was about to buy, would restart every 5 minute. and now when they know the problem, they wont repair it? it just don't make sense for me. If a car seller discovers that all the brakes in a car he had sold, will crash after some years he will call all the cars back to repair no mater what. i just don't understand how Apple will make good service for their custumers, by extending the warranty from 2 to 3 years, but wont take the computers there is a little bit to old, 4 months will make the difference. i can't believe it.
What can i do now?

Free Premium Channels for 3 Months

On Saturday 11/13/2010 I was contacted by telephone that the 10 premium channels package was being added to my FIOS package for free for 3 Months.
As of today 11/17/2010 no channels have been added.
If for some reason I am not illegible for this package,why would Verizon call me and verify a lot of information.
There was three or four calls made before we actually made contact.
With the competition with Comcast and Satellite,this is not good Customer Service behavior

GR based IV to be checked for free text requirement

Hi All,
Is there any option that if we create shopping carts for free text requirement,GR based IV should be checked automatically in purchase order created for that shopping cart.Or will this get replicated depending on vendor master we select.Please suggest.

As of standard, this setting in PO would come from Vendor master only. But in case you want this to happen for all free text items, then you can use the doc change badi as suggested by Masa. You should use the po change method to pass this indicator.
