Text scrollbar no longer works in Flash 8

I recently reinstalled my software apps, (I lost a lot of
extensions, customization and patches) so I think that's why the
scroll bar no longer functions.
I'm running Flash Professional 8, Mac OS 10.4.10. Anyone have
any suggestions?

Yes, with or without Extensions. Any site that uses Disqus as the comments engine. Try to search a commentator by handle/name and it will show number of times recorded but will not jump to them.

Captivate 4 AS2 Text Entry Box not working with Flash Player 11

I am having issues with text entry boxes not working at all in flash 11. I am using Captivate 4 and exporting an AS2 swf. When you get to the slide you can type but you cannot see anything nor does the button or keystroke to move on. Also there is no cursor. Any ideas?

You said it is not working with Flash 11, so does that mean you tested with previous version and that worked?
While publishing choose Flash player as 9 and publish that, verify if that plays in a compatible web browser.
AS 2 is a legacy scripting, it has been said not too be supported with even Flash Player 10 --

I believe if you switch back to version 9 while publish your project, it should work.

Why does my button no longer work in Flash Player 8?

Hi,
I have built a site in Flash MX a while ago. Now I’d
like to upgrade things a bit while testing the new Adobe Flash CS3.
To be able to use a new function (“anti-alias for
readability”) the program warns me that “this feature
is not supported by Flash Player 6. To use this feature, you must
target Flash player 8.”
So I change the setting to Flash Player 8, leaving
Actionscript to version 2.0.
However, now one of my main menu buttons no longer works!
When I change settings back to Flash Player 6, things are fine
again. What am I overlooking?
Below is the script for the button (which has an instance
name). Does anything change with the actionscript in CS3?

Video post processing/quality control no longer works in flash player

I use to watch videos via http://www.channel5.com and was able to use the post processing features in the AMD driver to improve the picture quality.
Now, it no longer works. Is this because hardware acceleration isn't working?
For a while I was able to use it in Internet Explorer, Sometimes in Firefox but never in Chrome. Now even with internet explorer it doesn't seem to work correctly.
I am using the latest flash versions for all platforms and the latest browser and driver version from AMD too.
Has Adobe changed something with the latest version of flash which cause a problem with the AMD Driver? Why is there no longer a Hardware Acceleration check-box in Internet Explorer?
I am using Windows 8.1 and I have the setting in the AMD CCC "apply current vdieo quality settings to internet video" checked. I have made sure in Firefox and Chrome hardware acceleration is enabled both in flash player settings and in the browser settings.

It may be for you, but it isn't for me in Internet Explorer, by comparison though, there is the box available in Chrome and Firefox...although in Chrome it doesn't do anything.
I did some more testing; With Internet Explorer hardware acceleration seems to be dependant on the website you watch.
For example, using IE to visit http://www.dailymotion.com the post processing options work fine, but when on http://www.channel5.com they do not. Is there any reason why this is?
As for other browsers, it seems hardware acceleration just isn't working at all since post processing never works on chrome.
On Firefox it seems to behave the same way as IE, e.g it works on some sites but not others.
I thought I may be able to get around this by disabling the pepper flash player in chrome, but it doesn't seem to make any difference, either its still using the built-in one or it still doesn't work at all with hardware acceleration.
Either way none of these achieve what I was able too before, get hardware acceleration working with http://www.channel5.com .

Text replacements no longer working correctly after Mavericks install.

Since upgrading to Mavericks (MBA2011 13inch) only a select few of the text replacements still work. For example, I can still write (c) and tm and have them change to what they should be, but the fractions, and custom ones like gmc, omw, or the apostrophe ones no longer are substituted. I tried deleting them and entering them again, but it does not work. They worked fine in 10.8, and I didnt change them until I noticed it had stopped working. Any ideas?

I have also noticed new in Mavericks is that if you type something that can be text substituted and you stop at the last character, a small box with the replacement pops out with the option to cancel the replacement, similar to how it works in ios.
However, I still have my problem where only certain susbstitutions work and exhibit this, while others do nothing ever.

You Tube videos no longer work after Flash Player upgrade

I am running Win XP 2002 with SP3 and Firefox 3.6.15. I just upgraded flash player and now the You Tube videos no longer display. The You Tube sound works. IE has not be affected and I can see the You Tube videos. Firefox does display videos from Netflix and news sites but not You Tube. Your company wants $39.00 to solve a problem that is the result of your efforts, not mine. I think that is wrong. So what do I do so I can resume using Firefox to view You Tube videos?

I am having a great deal of issues trying to sort out the flash player. Tried uninstalling/reinstalling the flash player, however I still get the same messages on sites such as youtube, bbc that I do not have the correct version installed and to install version 10.
I notice that you have mentioned to right click the flash symbol and then on to settings on the link page that you provided, unfortunately, all i can see is a plain box with a cross in the top left hand corner, and when i right click, there is no Settings option. i have run malware and other sytem scans and have removed any issues that there might have been, all still to no avail.

Text Entry No Longer Works - Controls Tool Selection Instead

Well here's a particularly peeving peculiarity!
Once upon a time, you could throw a text generator into the time-line, double click on it to bring it up in the viewer, click on the Properties tab and type your text into the entry field without problems.
Well, after a short time editing, the situation changes and subsequently it seems I can't do that. Instead, my keystrokes are routed to the tool selection palette or the FCP timeline itself.
This even extends as far as trying to change the names of Sequences or Clips in the Browser.
Subsequently, ALL keyboard input in FCP fails. No keystrokes are accepted at all, not even shuttling around in the timeline. Using the mouse in a menu to export a movie works and brings up the Export dialogue, but I can't type anything in the filename field.
I've tried trashing prefs, caches, logging in under a different user account, repairing permissions, lighting black candles and meditating upon mental images of Steve Jobs and nothing seems to work.
Back in the rest of the OS, say in the Finder, keyboard input is working fine.
The only FCP related information in the Console log is a failure to load a Filter bundle - which is odd because 5.1.4 is supposed to be specifically to fix filter errors:

I have FCP installed on a laptop too and it seems the same symptoms occur there.
What gives? Is it time to reapply the latest FCP update? Do I have difficult to diagnose font problems? Must I sacrifice another virgin to the gods?

Trying to solve this is as irritating as having a grain of sand lodged in a soft mucus membrane - but from such irritations oysters make pearls!

It seems, at the moment, that this problem is related to using older project files, those created before 5.1.4, with 5.1.4. You do seem to get an alert asking if you want to update the project but perhaps this update doesn't complete correctly.
I haven't had a lot of time to explore but it seems new projects created in 5.1.4 don't suffer this problem.

Videos no longer work after Flash 16.0.0.235 installed

Adobe Flash updated yesterday (12-11-14) and now no videos work - YouTube, Huffington Post & Packers.com just give me blank white space where a video should be.
I just updated RealPlayer and that didn't fix the problem.
I checked that all my add-ons are active and up-to-date; they are.
What else can be done to fix this?

You can try these steps in case of issues with web pages:
You can reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.
*Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
*Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
*Press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)
Clear the cache and remove cookies only from websites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":

Text selection no longer working properly

I'm using Acrobat 9.0.0 on Mac OS 10.4.11. I have to copy and paste text from .pdf files. Everything was working fine, but now suddenly, I am unable to select text across pages (i.e. it can only do one page at a time) and also, when I paste the text to the text application, the spaces between the words are not included so all the text is jammed together.
Something's changed. What did I do?

I contacted Adobe on this one. I thought I'd post the resolution here, just in case somebody else runs across the problem.
There are two ways to select text. I used the text editing tool which didn't work correctly. If you use the pointer selection tool, the one with the i-beam next to the arrow, everything works correctly.

NB305 - FN key no longer working with Flash Cards

I acquired my NB305 last week, and the FN key was working such that when you held it down the Flash Card appeared at the top of my screen. However, that association has since ceased. The FN does work for other purposes, and I turned on the feature with the Flash Cards to allow the mouse cursor to activate them. so both the key itself and the Flash Cards are working, but not together.
I have searched high and low and I can find no way to reassociate the key and the Flash Cards. This forum is my last hope for solving this riddle. I did search the board, but I could find no reference to this problem.
Any assistance you may be able to provide is very much appreciated,

start menu> all programs> toshiba> utitilies>settings for flash cards. when the window comes up check the box for allow the mouse to bring up the cards. also make sure the box next to keep the cards on top of other windows so they alway show up where you can see them if you have other programs open. when you have problems bringing them up with the FN key try the same thing as before but instead of settings for flash cards select reset flash cards

My flash no longer works, the flash light does not work it is an iphone 5 about 15 months old

My iphone 5 is a little over a year old, seems like after the update to IO7 the flash quit working as did the flashlight that comes with IO7. i have done the soft start, hard start, Reset and now the complete restore. any ideas?

Valet M10 no longer works just flashes

Hello,
My Valet M10 has worked fine with no problems for about a year now. I needed to move it from one place to the next and I had it unplugged for about 10-15 mins. When I turn in on the numbers 1-4 flash as well as the middle icon (it looks like a planet to me.) Does anyone have suggestions as to what the problem is and how I can fix it?

So do the light flashes all together on the Router? Let me know the IP address on the computer connected to Ethernet ports? Here are the steps to check the IP address.
You can check the IP address in the following manner:
# Click on Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> Command Prompt.
# A black pop up box should come up, type: "ipconfig /all" …
There check the IP address and Default Gateway under LAN….
Try to change power socket and then check the status of the lights on the router.

IPOD no longer working - jusy flashing intermittantly

Hi - I am hoping someon can help as I am tearing my hair out.... I have both an IPOD Photo (40GB) and an IPOD Video and both have died on me in a matter of days...
The IPOD Photo was the first to go.. my husband said it wouldnt charge and I tried and sure enough nothing was happening when you put it into the docking station (connected to the pc through a USB).. there was a slight flickering of the screen but this stopped eventually and noting else happened so as that one is a bit older than the video I thought I would try that to see if the problem was with the docking station or the ipod photo... At first the IPOD video went on charge and I had the normal do not disconnect message.. went about my business and eventually swicthed PC off... anyweay next time I came to boot up my pc, the IPOD Video was a dead as a dod with just the flickering screen as well... I have tried charging both of them using my IMotion speakers but they are not acknowledging the machines.
I cant do what the 5R's tells me because when I put them in the docking station they are not being picked up in the list as usual (it doesnt seem to register them...)
In addition toa ll this, I have tried to go into my itunes account in the store and I cant connect to that - just keep getting an error 9808
I ran diagnostics and it told me to check the internet settings which I did and they are all as they should be so I am getting seriously stressed.....
Can someone please help.....

Ringtones and Text Tones No Longer Work in IOS 8 upgrade

I have an Iphone 5S and recently did the upgrade to IOS 8... I know better i should have waited a year to upgrade but I stupidly did. Today all my tones and ringtones are stuck on default and will not change to the selected.
Phone has also crashed. Went into restore mode.
system restore did nothing, so its in software..
any suggestions, These are purchased ringtones through itunes,

I am having a similar issue. I have an iPhone 5, and after updating to iOS 8 it uses the ringtone I have set as my default.. but will not keep the ringtones I have set for one person. I go back in and change it, and five minutes later it's back to the default ringtone. And it keeps doing this.

Text shortcuts no longer work in iOS6

I have erased and renetered my shortcuts to see if that would do it and it still doesnt. Does anyone have a solution for this, or am I doing something wrong? Shortscuts are enabled as far as I can tell, my list is populated and it just doesnt registered in SMS, EMAIL, or NOTES so far.

As another note, I hope they include the option to remove Siri from the keyboard soon! I like the use of Siri, but I don't like the stupid mic button on the keyboard, makes hitting the numbers frustrating not to mention the annoying chime noise it makes regardless of whether your phone is on silent or not!
