Text size in Cover Flow in iTunes 8.1

In iTunes 8.01 if you right clicked in the Cover Flow area there was an option to increase/decrease the font size. I had mine set to quite a large size and it showed the album name on one line and the artist name on the next line.
I have installed iTunes 8.1 and the right click options are no longer available in the Cover Flow area and the size of text I had previously set is too large to fit in the Cover Flow area. All I see is the album title and about 10% of the artist on the next line.
Has anyone else had this and has anyone found a solution?
I have looked in the registry but can't find any setting that I could change.
I did think about re-installing 8.01 to reduce the text size and then re-installing 8.1, I'd rather not do that in case it messes up my library.

I have the exact same problem, I thought this new itunes 8.2 would solve it but it didn't. I'm running on Vista Home Premium with service pack 1.

I recently upgraded from iTunes 10.7 to version 11, but I cannot use it without Cover Flow. How do I turn it back on?

Apple removed Cover Flow from iTunes 11. You cannot turn it on back again.
What you can do:
Downgrade to iTunes 10.7
Leave Feedback to Apple and protest against it (so did I, too)

Cover Flow on Itunes 9.2/9.2.1

Hi to all,
after upgrading Itunes at 9.2 (and then 9.2.1) i've noticed some strange artifacts on Cover Flow, but just on songs that haven't illustrations. Surfing the web i've seen that is a common problem, this is a screenshot.

It's just the default image when the cover image tag section is empty.
You can just control-click > copy the image from a song from the same album when it's selected, then select this song, then control-click > paste into its image space.
Or you can drag the image from another track to your desktop, then onto any empty cover-art image windows.
Or if you don't have cover art for it on any tracks, just drag a jpeg from amazon or anywhere else (20k-50k are good sizes) and drag it onto the empty window when the song is selected.
If these don't work anymore in 9.2.1, sorry in advance...

ISSUE: Missing Text Only in Cover Flow

There seems to be an issue in Cover Flow's text rendering. Quite a handful of common characters are not displayed only in Cover Flow, but are correctly shown anywhere else (e.g. Artists menu or the Now Playing screen). No thorough investigation on my part has been conducted, but I am having grave problems with characters featuring a diaeresis on them such as the "ï" which can be found in the very common English word, "naïve".
Suppose we have an Album named "Naïve (äbc)" by an Artist "Hïjk Stüv". In iTunes, the Album and the Artist shows up correctly. Within the iPod, going to Music>Artists shows "Hïjk Stüv" correctly, and going to Music>Albums gives no problem as well by displaying "Naïve (äbc)" (followed the the Artist name "Hïjk Stüv").
However, going to Music>Cover Flow would yield the Album name "Nave (bc)" followed by the Artist name "Hjk Stüv". We can see that it is unable to display all the characters used that has a diaeresis with the sole exception of "ü".
Interestingly, clicking the wheel at the cover flow entry for the aforementioned Album would yield a hybridized result in the song list popup window: the Album name is incorrect and shows as "Nave (bc)" while the Artist name that follows the Album name is correct by showing "Hïjk Stüv".
This issue was discovered when loading songs from the Album "Yael Naïm" by the Artist "Yael Naïm" onto my iPod. You will notice that when you go to the iTunes Store, the Artist name and the Album name states "Yael Naïm" and "Yael Naïm" respectively.

I've noticed that ô (o with circumflex), for example, shows in iTunes but is not displayed on the Classic.
and best I can recall it was related to a Hôtel Costes album, although now that I look at my iPod (2 firmware updates later) it is displaying correctly. So maybe that's one they've fixed on the way.

Cover Flow in iTunes 8

Last weekend, I was asked to DJ my company's Christmas party at a bowling alley. I took my computer and hooked it up to their PA System, and everything went well. But since returning home, my iTunes 8, in the Cover Flow view, says "iTunes is unable to browse covers on this computer." I have run dxdiag, testing both DirectDraw and Direct3D, and both are working fine. I have gone to the website for the manufacturer of my video card, but was unable to open any page with drivers on it. Does anyone have any more ideas?

you should just reinstall it again, usually it fixes bugs on its own.

Cover flow doesn't much with cover flow in iTunes

My cover flow on the iPod is not 100% replica of the iTunes. For example in I tunes last cover is the last letter in the alphabet. On my iPod classic there are many cd showing after that point. Another example in Itunes I am showing 4 Rod Stewart CDs in Ipod are showing 3 of them the other somewhere at the end of the carousel.
I erased the ipod and started from fresh... the same thing.
Does anyone have a solution or this is iPod bug?

In iTunes you can change the order of the cover flow by ordering on different columns and can choose whether to group compilations. On the iPod the order is always the equivalent of Albums by Artist with compilations grouped at the end. The iPod also appears to give the artist field priority over album artist which can cause problems with albums that have featured artists. If your album artist has more than one album, with some tracks that feature guest artists, you may get repeated covers. This can be fixed by setting the sort artist field to the value of the album artist for each track with a guest artist. Another problem is that each album requires a unique title to avoid clashing with other titles of the same name. If you have a number of albums called "Greatest Hits" for example, when you select one of these to play it you will find the tracks from every Greatest Hits album are listed. This can be fixed by renaming albums along the lines of <Artist>, <Album>.

Cover Flow in iTunes

When I try to get album artwork for iTunes, a message pops up saying that I need to sign into the ITunes store. But when I do, I still don't automatically get the "Cover Flow." I'm working in Windows XP. Has anyone had this problem?

I don't really understand your question. You don't automatically get the coverflow view, you have to select it.
Either the rightmost of the three view buttons to the left of the search box, or the view menu.

Default size of Cover Flow

Is it possible to set the default size of the Cover Flow window?
And keep the same size when you scale the entire window?

Please clear my confusion.Why? There's nothing to be confused about.. Why would you believe anything you read here or elsewhere over what it says in Javadoc? There are just two things you can believe: the Javadoc and the Java Lanugage Specification. Everything else is wrong where it disagrees. By definition.

Visualizer and cover flow crash iTunes in Leopard

I don't know what's happening, but both WERE working fine shortly after I got my late 07 BlackBook. I checked out the new visualizers, I checked out cover flow in full screen, and all was well.
At some point something happened that prevents visualizers from starting or cover flow from working. Starting or selecting either will cause iTunes to hang until it quits or (most of the time) I have to force quit iTunes.
Most of the time I click "Report" and I don't even get the dialog window to send the report to apple. Everything else seems to work fine. Audio and video playback and video playback at full screen.
I tried removing ALL plugins from HD > Library > iTunes > iTunes Plugins. Then restarting. Still didn't work. I put them back. Still. The folder User > Library > iTunes > iTunes Plugins was empty and still is.

Is that something that Apple will take a support call for? my BlackBook is only two months old and well within the warranty period. I need some help!

I fixed my problem and put details on this other forum post. I had another problem and the same procedure fixed both problems.

Cover Flow on iTunes and iPod not syncing properly...help!

When I add an album to my iTunes library, it works fine (i.e. it's grouped properly) in Cover Flow, but when I sync it to my iPod, it doesn't show up properly on my iPod's cover flow. How do I fix this?
I guess I should add that the album has an Album Artist because there are three tracks with different artists. Get my drift? PLEASE HELP!

1. you turn the iPod to landscape so that covers display, but there is a problem here?
2. while in portarit mode, the cover is displayed - but in your case - what?

Oh, and by the way, 21 views (from other users, not trained Apple staff) in 1 hour and four minutes - probably not from everywhere in the world! (Take note of where I am.) It can take a day or two before someone who knows the answer reads your post - usually after they have finished work, getting home, eating, etc etc.

Is cover flow in iTunes supposed to have a list of every song you have?

When I go to the cover flow feature in iTunes and I go to an album, it has a list of every single song I have on iTunes underneath of it. I would expect it to just have a list of the songs in that album, but I am new with iTunes so I wasn't sure. Is this how it is supposed to be? And if not will it affect how my iPod's cover flow works and how can I fix it?

Cover Flow just helps you browse your library by album cover and (unless you have it in fullscreen mode when it fills you whole display) only takes up a portion of the top of the main pane. The rest of the pane is the normal list view of your library. Clicking on an album cover takes you to the first song from that album that it locates in the list.

I heard that iTunes 11 does not have cover flow. If that's the case, is there any way to get it back through some hack?
Is there any reason not to keep iTunes 10.6.3 upon upgrading to 10.8.4?
Currently I have Mac OS X 10.8.0.

You can download iTunes 10.7 for OS X which is the last version with cover flow. Just be sure to keep a pre-upgrade copy of the iTunes Library file in case iTunes is automatically updated to any later version and you need to roll back.

Totally agree! I downloaded latest i-tunes - and how I wish I could take back that moment.
I have thousands of music files and I used to be able to see them as a split List and Cover Flow which was perfect for flicking between Album/Artist/ Name etc whilst being able to scroll through the visual reference of Album Covers.
Something that all lovers of music have enjoyed for years. It echoed the experience of rifling through record collections.
i-Tunes used to be good for archiving all my music in a relatively user friendly format.
Why have they dumped this format!
Please bring back Cover Flow!
