Text small in PE 13 (Windows 8.1)

Just bought Dell 2 in 1 laptop running windows 8.1 with a display of 1920 x 1080 . Installed PE 13 and the menu text size is tiny (was fine in windows 7). I have tried various changes but text is still tiny. Could not find any solutions in the forum (others have the same problem) or on the internet. Any ideas? What is Adobe going to do about it?

Your in the Expert mode in the pse 11 editor?
Are the filters greyed out on the menu or when you actually try the filter, it's just a solid color like white?
If you press the D key on the keyboard before trying the filters, does that make any difference?

That doesn't sound good. It sounds like the power outage might have corrupted the partition for OS X. I would suggest booting from the Install DVD that came with your Mac while holding down the C key. Once you have selected the language start up Disk Utility from the pull down menu and repair the disk. Once you have done that then repair permissions also.

Boot Using OPTION key:
1. Restart the computer.
2. Immediately after the chime press and hold down the "OPTION" key.
3. Release the key when the boot manager appears.
4. Select your OS X disk.
5. Click on the arrow button below the icon.

Export H264 pass-through movie with embedded text track QuickTime Pro 7 Windows?

Using QuickTime Pro 7 for Windows, I add a text track with closed captions to my H264 .mp4 videos.
The text track works great until I try to export it. After I've added the text track, the text track is displayed as long as the track is selected to be active using the Movie Inspector track GUI.
My movies are encoded as H264 for cross-platform compatibility, and need to remain in this format. The only way to save them in QuickTimePro 7 for Windows is to Export Movie to MPEG-4. I select Pass-Through mode to retain the resolution and bandwidth parameters that I initially encoded the video with.
Unfortunately, after I export to MPEG-4, the caption track is lost. It disappears. When I open the newly exported MPEG-4 caption file, and select Movie Inspector, the caption track is missing. Inspector only shows video and audio tracks.
If QuickTime Pro 7 for Windows correctly exported my text track with the video and audio tracks, then users would be able to view the closed captions upon playback in QuickTime Player by selecting View--> Show Closed Captioning (Ctrl+Alt+T).
Anyone been able to export to MPEG-4 pass-through movie with embedded text track QuickTime Pro 7 Windows?

When does a selection in a text field in a Finder window lose focus?

Hello,
this problem has emerged on account of an Applescript file that needs to access a text selection (portion of a filename highlighted) in an open Finder window.
The bare minimum code to demonstrate the problem is this:
*tell application "System Events"*
* *tell process "Finder"*
* *set selText to value of attribute "AXSelectedText" of text field 1*
* *end tell*
*end tell*
other variants also exist, using "keystroke" but that does not work either. I am not asking help with Applescript here, it is here only to give a sense of the problem.
My conclusion thus far is that the selection lose focus before the script process can access it. In the best case I get the full filename by using "attribute" and copy of the alias onto the clipboard by using "keystroke".
So my problem is this:
It seems that the focus stays alive when one clicks on a menubar item, any click on any other item on the desktop, including windows of irrelevant applications, changes the focus from the selection within the text field corresponding to a filename, to the filename itself.
And my question is this:
Is there a changeable setting within the OS that has to do with how long the focus stays alive on a selection within a text field corresponding to a filename? If yes, how do I change it?

UI Element Inspector calls the activated/editable filename a text field.

Every attempt fails on the fact that the focus is lost from the "text field" and it reverts to the label for the filename, if I may use this distinction, (or to "FinderItem" in the parlance of UIEI) as soon as another process begins, it seems. So when the script becomes active, but before any of the commands is executed, the selection disappears.
My guess is that it is not some absolute necessity but a setting that perhaps can be changed somehow.

i have to create a form with some items.there are two text field item :p1_item_group and :p1_item_name.
i want to design these form like telly Form .eg in a telly form like if we want to enter state in text field and cursor come on State text field then open a window with all state name in right side and user select state from these window and state come in to text field.
So i want to this type of action on p1_item_group when cursor come in to this item p1_item_group then quickly open a window with all item group name.

hi manoj,
you can write onFocus event on your textbox from which you want to call a pop up window
write a javascript function and call it onFocus event of textbox. In that function call a new popup page using window.open function.
on that page you will have a values as you mentioned eg A,B,D etc.
then user will select value from there and textbox will get that value.

Show some text messages in a popup window.

I have a requirement to show some text in a pointed popup window (similar to a pointed tooltip) when a commandLink is clicked. The text consists of 2-3 lines. What can I use?
I guess <af:popup> doesnt show up as a pointed tooltip.

Use an ad:popup and put an af:noteWindow in there.

Expanding Text Glossary Terms into Popup windows

I am using RH6 and I have a help project that uses expanding
text glossary terms throughout all the topics. When the topic is
printed out, the glossary terms are auto expanded and it disrupts
the flow of the text.
My questions are:
Is there a way to quickly change expanding text glossary
terms to just popup hyperlink windows?
If not, how can I find all the expanding text glossary terms
using the Multi Find and Replace?
Can they be searched for in a Report?

There's another way. Enclose your glossary definitions in
brackets [a means of enclosing text] so that the definition does
not interrupt the flow.

Long text doesn't fit the window exactly

Hi friends,
in PO smartforms i have included the header text of PO.
the problem is the long text doesn't fit to the window exactly i.e.,
when we enter the text in PO in the header a line can contain only 60 characters approximately where as in my smartforms it can contain more than that.
so in the display of smart form i get lot of space in the right side and i get the remaining part of text in the next line.

Why are web pages smaller on new pc (Windows 8.1) in Firefox 36.0 and how can I fix it?

I have just moved from an old pc running Vista to a new one running Windows 8.1.
When I set it up the first thing I did was download the latest version of Firefox.
Not sure what version I had on the Vista machine, but this is FF 36.0.
Then I synced my FF onto my new pc.
I immediately noticed how different it looked and quickly realized that it was because everything is smaller.
Not just the font, but every element on the page.
On Youtube for instance, actually on this page too, the columns are super narrow and don't fill up the screen. They don't reach the edges of the screen and have gaps in between them, and yes, the fonts are tiny.
Zooming in makes everything bigger, but the layout still looks bad, the gaps remain, it's not a solution.
I went into windows and tried messing with the resolution and it kind of worked, pages looked slightly better, but weren't back to "normal" AND then all the icons on the FF menu bar (arrows, home button, etc) were big blurry messes.
Well, that was worse, so I undid the resolution tweaks and don't really know what to try next.
Nothing I have found online really helps me as I am technically challenged and have no idea what a prefconfigdssccdlxeieio is!
It also appears that most people had this problem a few years ago. Sorry I'm late, but PLEASE HELP!

Okay, I tried it, set it to 1.2 and even more stuff got blurry and fuzzy. Besides everything in the FF menu bar everything in the header on youtube and a few other pages did it too. It did make the pages fill the actual page better, but the blur is worse than this prob so I set it back to -1.0.
Any other ideas?

How to refresh the text which is display by windows API function 'findwindow' 'getdc' 'textout'!

i use the windows api function to dynamelly display text on the frontpanel ,it successed ,but when you move the scrollbar to the left ,right ,top ,bottom,the text will be disappear!! i think it is a very difficulteed problem .in my around ,no one can do! who can help me!

It looks like you are using the same functions that LV uses to refresh the screen. Thos functions only let you update within the window you specify. This is why your updates stop at teh edge of the window.
Normally LV will watch the scroll bar position and re-paint the screen to reflect an scroll bar postion changes. Since you are by-passing LV, you can not rely on LV to refresh your screen when the scroll bars move.
At this point I can offer two suggestions.
1) Continue with the approach you started and start adding all of the code required to watch the scroll bars and re-paint as indicated.
or
2) Look into the LV Picture control. Based on what you have done using dll calls I would guess that you could probably figure how to do the
same thing using a picture control. The Picture (being a LV native object) is fully supported by LV so the scrolling work is already done and working. The picture control will let you draw lines, insert text, etc. Take a look at the "Robot Arm" example. It should get you started.
Finally, the Picture control is pure "G" so it should be platform independent.
Otherwise let me commend you on your example. You say no one else where you are can do what you have done. After looking at your example, I am not suprised. There are few people in the world that can do what you have done.

Can you enter text into "info" pop-up window for TV Shows?

It's not a big deal, but I was just wondering if there is a way (a script perhaps) of entering text into the little "info" pop-up window for TV Shows in iTunes? (You know the one...it pops-up when you click on the little "i" in the description box on the TV Shows main playlist)
The show files I made myself have blank info windows of course and it would be nice to be able to enter a decent length description of the episode (the character limit in the "Description" box is so short).
Like I said, it's not a big deal, but it would be nice to be able to enter info in there...so if anybody knows how...please let me know.

How do i map a small business server's windows path to my imac

Trying to map a Small Business Server's shared drive on my business network to a new iMac on the same network. Ethernet hardwired into network. I can see other PC's but not the server. Trying to enter the server's name and shared drive but having no luck.

Did you use Finder to enter the name address?
Finder menu Go>Connect to Server>' then enter something like afp://127.0.0.1/sharename
For connecting to windows it will probably be smb://IPaddress/sharename
