Text statement in between a hierarchical alv display

hi,
how can we insert a text statement in b/w a hierachical alv display.
if the display is repeated for a material group....then for each time of repetition i need to display a message.how can i do that?

    Hello All,
    I am new to Webdynpro ABAP. I am having a problem in ALV Hierarchical List display.
    As per my requirement, I need to display an ALV Hierarchical List with first column as Hierarchical column.
    Hierarchical level shpuld be up to 6 levels.
    I have made the table as Hierarchical table , set the column as hierarchy.
    I am able to display only one node and one leaf.
    Sample Code:
    data : alv_config_table type ref to CL_SALV_WD_CONFIG_TABLE.
      wd_this->alv_config_table->if_salv_wd_table_settings~set_display_type(

    Description : Pick Status Report
    This is an ALV report using the heirarchical ALV list display. The
    report selects all deliveries that fulfil the selection criteria
    and displays a summary of all items in that delivery with reference
    to certain statuses: overall status, goods issue status, transfer
    order status, load to pallet status, pallet count status, loaded to
    van status, van manifest printed status and end of day manifest
    printed status. These statuses have been defined by the business.

    I am using the FM 'REUSE_ALV_HIERSEQ_LIST_DISPLAY' to display the header and item table details.  However I would like to add a custom line below the item details of each section so that I can calculate the total (total of a particular field in the item table) and print it in this line....How do I do this....

    Hi All,
    Can some body tell me what's the difference between hierarchical and blocked ALV Report Please telle me some body what's the type of ALV it's displaying for the standard Report V/LD this is pricing report I want to develop custom report exactly looks as V/LD but the problem is I am not able to identify what's the ALV format it's displaying either Hierarchical or blocked?

    Hi Mahesh,
    Blocked ALV displays the data in blocks together in output. e.g. suppose you want to dsplay the data of header & item level. Then you candisplay the data of header records in first block & Item level data in another block on same output screen.

    Hi,
    Is there any difference between alv display using Resuable FM and ALV display using classes except the later one uses OO concept.??
    One mere thing i want to clarify is that is there any difference exist between REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY and REUSE_ALV_LIST_DISPLAY? If so, then let me know.
    It could be easier to understand me if yuo give scenario where these FM comes into picture

    This module outputs two internal tables as a formated hierarchical-sequential list.

    I was checking out the List of GR/IR Balances report (tcode MB5S), which uses Hierarchical ALV.  I noticed that there's a button in the output toolbar that enables you to switch from Hierarchical ALV to Grid ALV.  Is there a specific setting in the ALV that you need to define in order to use this feature?

    those properties will came when u use the related function module.all the code for this will exist in the function module u r using for creating the hierarchial display.

    I have 'Material Detailed Description' field in my ALV report, and it's taken from a multiple line text table. Is there any way so I can get this whole text to fit in a single ALV cell (not in single, but multiple line, as in original text data)?

    If you want you can display this long text field in ALV but the allignment of the ALV not looks good. so generally we won't display them in the output,
    instead, in the interactive list write the code to call that MM03 transaction, and the user can see that text in the transaction when ever double clicked on that MATERIAL field.

  • How to display multiple lines of texts in a single rows in ALV

    I have a unique requirement in which i have to display multiple lines if texts for a single rows in ALV Grid. Right now in my output it is coming in single line which is not visible fully because that text is more than 255 character. So i want to display the test by splitting into multiple lines and show it on output. Please suggest some solution for this if this is possible in ALV.

    Its not possible to display multiple line in one row of an alv, but i think you can acheive it by splitting the whole text into multiple sub-text.
    For example, if your requirement is as below:
    Field #1          Field #2
    1                    xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx(200 characters)
    2                    yyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy(220 character)
    then you can break Field#2 value into say 50 character and then populate the internal table with repetative entries of Field#1 and the finally sort it by Field#1 value... as a result of which you output will be somewhat as below:

    1                   xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

  • Alv- displaying long text in alv output

    hi,
              as per my requirement, i need to be display long text (length >1000 characters) in alv list or alv grid.
    i get the entaire long text and keep it in final internal table and pass it to alv functional module,  but  it unable to display the compleate long text( in alv-grid).
    the alv list displays the complete long text but not in the row, it displays in the second rown and few field labes of long text and its previous field label are displayed in impro[per order.
    is there any possible way to display long text in alv.
