Text suddently appears bold after image insertion

After inserting an image (file type does not seem to matter - jpg, psd, etc.), the text on the same page as the placed image suddenly appears bold, though when highlighted and checked still reads as "regular" under the control panel.  When a PDF is generated, the text still looks bold.
This seems to happen randomly in the same document - sometimes it happens, sometimes not.
This document will not be printed but will be posted as a PDF online, so the appearence of the text is important.  How can I place an image and reverse the text looking bold?

This is somewhat of an old post, but I don't see that the issue was ever resolved. I just had this happen to me on 3 non-consecutive pages of a 40-page doct. I tried both moving the images to a new layer, and adding a transparent layer, neither of which worked.
But as for the suggestion of printing to PDF rather than exporting, that's not an option for me right now, since I need to have my TOC interactive in the PDF. Although the doct may be printed on paper at some point, it is part of a set of training manuals that will be mostly viewed on-screen.
How incredibly frustrating! If anyone learns anything more about this, I would appreciate very much if it gets posted here.

  • Mail created in Sapscript not appear bold, font, image, ...only simple text

    Hi to all,
I have created a form in Sapscript. This forms contains a image, box, text with bold, font Verdana, ...
If I print this form this appears correctly (with image, box, ....) but if i sent to mail only appear the text without format.
I need that the mail shows the image (not attached), box, etc.
    Can anybody helps me?
Thanks a lot for your help.

I've posted about markups in emails recently....problem is that your output form Scrip doesn't contain the HTML tags.  So, when email is opened, the user defaults (Outlook??) are used.
We work around this problem by creating email content that contains the markups that we need... But, we do it from ABAP, not SAPScript, so that's no help to you...

  • Why does text appear bold when published?

My entire web site suffers from text that appears bold when I publish. I have followed various other threads, changed typefaces, put in returns and tried a variety of "tricks" and although some people appear to have fixed it, there is no universal fix that I can find. Has anyone else had any luck solving this? It ***** because it makes the whole page look rather unprofessional. www.brain-storm.com is the site.
    Thanks

This problem occurred last night to me as well. I've been using iWeb for a couple of months with no problem. I added a blog entry and some photos last night and then published. When I checked out the site all of my text was bolded.
I'm new to Macs and iWeb so I struggled for hours last night and this morning to correct it. No luck.
Any ideas someone can suggest would be huge.

  • Fonts go bold after publishing!

    Friends!
I have made a website as a first-timer using Iweb. Everything worked perfectly, and I'm satisfied with the result. However, there is one thing that bothers me. When I look at the page with Safari, Firefox or Camino some of the text on some of the pages has gone bold, which makes it difficult to read. I have been looking through the source-code but couldn't find anything that says bold.
The problem does not occur on every page, which confuses me a bit since I thought this was a template related problem, but I've used the same template, the black one, on every page.
Is there anyone out there who can provide a useful solution I would be most greatful.
    Best regards
    Ribban

I see a clear difference between the way they render. On the "om oss" page, Safari is rendering the text with anti-aliasing and making the font appear thicker. On the "konceptet" page, it's rendered as a graphic and is visibly "thinner" to me.
Now, taking it over to, say, Firefox on a PC, the "om oss" page is built with no anti-aliasing at all so that you can make out the two pixels in the upper bar on a lowercase "k". The image on "konceptet" is NOT the same as the text and appears bolder due to iWeb anti-aliasing the font when creating the image.
Your problem appears to be with how Safari intends to make the page "look" better by smoothing the fonts. Looking at the text rendered page with IE or Firefox on the PC is probably what you're expecting.
From thinner to bolder it looks like
    text rendering with Win Firefox
    image render
    text rendering with Safari
The only one that will look the same on both platforms is the image render, but, since that's still bolder than the Windows text render, the design may not please you.

  • A website I use with forums shows everything as bold all of the time when normally they are not bold after I read them.

I have installed a new version of FireFox and when I open a page it is all bolded. I have read a few posts and they have stated to download new fonts. I have tried this and it has not worked.
The issue is not present in IE so I would imagine fonts are ok. I tried to download an older version of FireFox and the issue is there as well.
    I am using Windows 7.

  • Helvetica Light Appears As An Image Instead Of Text

Earlier i was using "Helvetica" on my Adobe Muse website that i am designing. I had to change it from "Helvetica" to "Helvetica Light" and the text started to show as an image instead of text. I mean it does not remain text anymore and when i export the site it shows as a png file. Although i can still edit the text of course.
I have seen a question on the forum (HERE) that explains what is happening but there is no explanation how to correct it. I really want to use Helvetica Light instead of normal Helvetica. Can any one tell me how to keep it as a text instead of a png file?
    Thanks!

Not all visitors to your website will have Helvetica Light installed on their computer, so the only way for Muse to give that exact look is to turn the text into an image.
If you want the text to stay live text and not become an image, you have to limit yourself to the fonts in the 'web safe' or 'web fonts' categories. If you use a system font, Muse will rasterize the text to give you the exact appearance you desire.

  • Getting text to appear on top of Image In InDesign 5

I am struggling to get some text to appear on top of an image in InDesign 5. I did fiddle with layers but it doesn't appear to have multiple layers.
Could someone walk me through making this work?
    Appreciate the help!
    Brian

It seems that even if I turn the image off in layers, the text fiend does not sho up. In other words, if I create a text field outside the printable area for the boot, the text is displayed, but when I drag it into the printable area, the text goes blank.
Let me get this one thing straight though: But draging the text layer entry above the image layer entry, the text layer would thus be above and on top(visable).??
But it's not working as a result of the above mentioned. I still seems to have something to do with the image layer that exists on the page.
Ooops! Bob, you hit the nail on the head. Although there was no text wrap spacing added, the text wrap was on. So, selecting a particular image and removing "text wrap" only applies the attributes only to that image. All other images still have text wrap on.....which is what I want.
    Thanks to all.

  • Bold text appears bold and italic

    Hi Folks,
Can anyone please explain why this happens?
In FW when I click the bold text button, the text appears bold but italic aswell.
    Thanks in advance

That's unusual. Which version of Fireworks and what operating system are you using?
If you click on the Faux Italic button, is the italic styling removed? (It should be. If not, click twice.) You might want to try quitting and restarting the application—or shutting down and restarting your computer—and see if this takes care of the problem.
FYI: It's generally a better choice to add bolding via the Font Style dropdown menu, if that style is available within the currently selected font family.

  • Writing text on an image inserted in a single cell of a table

Given a table with a cell...I can insert an image into the cell...
CAN I SOMEHOW insert text on top of the image in the cell?
    Thanks, --bill

    Hi bill,
in addition to John and provided that I understood your question correctly:
    1. Edit the image with an image editing program. Once there, give a border around the image and then write in there your text.
    2. Modify your table with another row and then write your text in this new space. Fill the frame and the resulting gaps with a "camouflage paint".
3.Seperate your image from the text with a line break and write your text directly into the column (next to, below or above the image).
    4. You also could create a css rule for floating text (around your image).
    Hans-G.

You will need to find a forum for MS Word since that is the software that you are trying to manipulate in this.  If you think the processing/creation of the PDF plays a role then you should ask in the forum for the software that you are using to create the PDF.
This forum is for issue regarding downloading and installing Adobe trial products, so in any circumstance, your issue does not fit in this forum.

  • Photos appear as negative images after updating to iOS 7

I have the iPhone 4S.  After downloading iOS 7, my photos are still present but appear as negative images.  Anyone else have this problem?

It is still there and the same as before, you just have to click on the various views available.  I think it is the album view that shows the Camera Roll first as before.  The default view after downloading iOS 7 is not the same, but you can change  it.

  • How to make text appear underneath an image on rollover

    Hi guys,
I woul really like to creat an effect like this site:
    Showcase21
If you click on past and hover over an image, you get to see text underneath as well as the image in color.
Any thoughts on how I can make that in Muse?
    Kind regards,
    Lester

This can be done with the Composition Widget Tooltip Preset. The images would be created with the triggers, the text that appears would be the Target content for each.

  • Some text appears bold when published.  Why?

    Hi.
I've used iWeb to create my very first web-site, but I have an annoying problem. On my links page, one particular block of text appears in bold when viewing on a browser. The text is not bolded, though, in iWeb.
    http://web.mac.com/stevenrichardjackson/iWeb/bloggermepink/links.html
Look at the links on the right hand side, under the subheading "Apple".
Does anyone have any idea what I can do to make this text appear the same as the rest if the text on that page.
    Thanks in advance,
    Steve.

Wow -- this is getting stranger and stranger...
I did what you suggested, namely duplicating the "Apple" links text box, deleting the "Films" and "Geekery" text boxes, repositioning the duplicated box into the desired place and re-typing the links. This sounded like a pretty good suggestion.
    However...
    Now have a look:
    http://web.mac.com/stevenrichardjackson/iWeb/bloggermepink/links.html
If you put your mouse over the "Geekery" links and move it around a bit, you'll see that the Xbox sites have a phantom space that appears and disappears depending on where the mouse is hovering...
The only explanation I can think of is that there is some kind of bug in iWeb's Publish function. Has this section of my web-site been published twice, and the second publish hasn't overwritten the first???
This might be way off mark, but what else could be causing this?
I have checked my file in iWeb, by the way, and there's no hidden text box or anything like that...
    Hope you have a suggestion.
    Cheers,
    Steve.

  • Alt-text 'tool tip' not appearing on some images

We get pdf files created by outside sources that we then need to publish on our webpage.  I add tags to the pdf, then add the alt-text to the images via the Touch Up Text tool.  As well as I can determine, the tag for the alt-text is present in the pdf.  The Read Out Loud function in Acrobat reads the alt-text correctly as does a screen reader.  But the 'tool tip' does not appear on all images.  It seems that the more complex, mulitple layered dwg type images do not display the text, either from the browser, or from Acrobat itself.  Other dwg source images do work, and photgraphic images are ok.
I have gone back through the pdfs to verify the existence of the figure tag, and that the alt-text is there.
I have opened the tags dialog, looked at the properties, and added the text to the Title field as well as the alt-text and Actual Text.
I have converted the images to jpgs, which resolves the issue, but greatly reduces the quality of the image.
I am using Acrobat Pro 8.1.4 on a Windows XP, sp2 system.
I am aware that the ADA requirement do not require the 'tool-tip' to function, but when you have many, many pages of images in a pdf using a screen reader or the read out loud function to test is not feasible for testing.  We need to have the tool-tip working, and I have run out of ideas on how to make it work.

I just figured out that those photos had been set to a blending mode of Multiply
because an earlier iteration of the design used transparency. But to the eye, they
look like normal photos, so I didn't realize they were set to Multiply.
This solved the problem but it's not heartening news. What if my graphic legitimately
did have a blending mode set? What would my workaround be if I needed to set Alt Text
    for those images?

  • How can I get text to appear over my placed or pasted images in InDesign CS6?

I am new to InDesign and am having a few issues. I have a basic template for a site that I have built in Illustrator. I have placed the design into an InDesign document (I have tried both copy/paste and the Place feature). When I try to use InDesign to overlay text on top of the image, it shows up fine whenever I export to an image file. However, when I export to HTML, the text gets pushed directly underneath the image in web browser (it's visible, but shows on white space below my desired template). Is there any way to fix this? I have already tried enabling "Ignore Text Wrap" on the text frame and the text itself is set to the front of the document. Thanks!

InDesign is not a web authoring tool. If you’re expecting text to simply overlay a graphic in export HTML from InDesign you’re going to be highly disappointed.
I’ll make the assumption you know nothing about web authoring tools and HTML/CSS. I suggest you look into Muse.
