  • Customizing Text to Speech pronunciation in Captivate 7?

    Hi,
I'm trying to customize the dictionary pronunciation of the Captivate 7  NeoSpeech Julie voice.
I wanted her to say E Procurement instead of EProcurement.
I tried following the steps in this post, though the instructions were for Captivate 4 and I get a message saying I don't have a license for UserDicEng.exe
    http://blogs.adobe.com/captivate/2009/03/customizing_text_to_speech_pro.html
Any ideas for how I can customize the pronunciation for words?
    Thanks,
    Dan

    Hi there,
If you have downloaded the voices for Captivate 7, then it has downloaded the zipped file for Text to speech installer.
You need to extract that zipped file to a folder first, then inside that folder there is setup.exe file, double click on setup.exe to start the installation. (Captivate should be closed while installing voices)
Note: The set up of text to speech  are different for Captivate 7 32 bit and Captivate 7 64 bit, so make sure that you have downloaded the appropriate one.
    Thanks.

I am on day 2 of the 30-day trial.  I downloaded the voice zip files, but can't seem to get them recognized/installed in the trial version.  How do I do this?

  • Adobe Captivate 8 projects published to HTML 5 shows major loading problems and stops

Adobe Captivate 8 projects published to HTML 5 cause major loading problems in most browsers(IE 11, Chrome v. 35.0, Firefox v. 31). Loading… (screen)
The view stops after a while and only the Loading… (icon) can be seen on the page.
Is this a known problem with Captivate projects published to html5 and is there a way to fix it? What is wrong?
Test the html5 version of this project at: http://kurs.dokker.no/captivate/
and see for yourself what happends.

I changed the Preferences/Project/Start and End  Preloader % to 25 and published the projects again. The course: http://kurs.dokker.no/captivate/elev/
stopped like before on one of the first slides, loading… screen like before in IE11.
In Chrome v. 37.0 the course worked badly, would not run, sound missing and buttons not working.
In Firefox 31.0 the course worked to a degree even if the program was advising to use another browser for this content.
In Opera 23.0 sound was missing and else working as bad as IE.
All this testes is done on a PC using Windows 8 connected på internet via ethernet, download speed: 66.57.
I would like to use the HTML5-format since it has a cleaner view than swf-files that appear to be jagged, but there is a lot missing before Adobe Captivates html5 publish is where it needs to be. Her are the complete html5 course and here are the swf based course for comparison.

  • Adobe Captivate 8 + Presenter 10

Could these programs be included in the CC package?
I think it would be really good if these programs were available to members of CC. It does seem strange that CC members have to pay for these 2 programs.

  • Adobe Captivate 6 Spanish text to speech

Hi we are using Adobe Captivate 6.  We were wondering if there is an option to get text to speech in Spanish language.  We are currently using NeoSpeech which provides German, French and English (couple of accents).
Are there any alternatives to this?

    Hello,
    Welcome to Adobe Forums.
Spanish Text to Speech is not available as an add-on for Adobe Captivate.
You can purchase Spanish Voice from NeoSpeech.com and Loquendo.com.
    Thanks,
    Vikram

  • Where can I download text to speech for adobe captivate 7?

I have recetly downloaded captivate 7, but need to find the right file to allow mw to create slides with a text to speech function.

Click Audio, then click Speech Management.  On the bottom left of the window there should be a link to download the files.  Hope this helps.

  • Missing Some Text-To-Speech When Course Replays

I have a course (114 slides) that was developed in Captivate 6.  On the last slide of the course, I have placed a "main menu" button that allows the learner to return to the main menu and repeat lessons in the course if desired.  The first time the learner views the course, everything works perfectly.  If the learner repeats the course, the text-to-speech audio is missing from 2 slides.  The audio does not cut out at all when previewing, only in the published file.  I am publishing to SCORM 1.2.
Here is what I have done to try and resolve the problem:
    - Confirmed that the audio on the timeline was on.
    - Cleared unused items from library.
    - Deleted original audio from slides and replaced, then republished.
    - Resaved under a new file name, to a new location and republished.
    - Checked Force Republish all slides and republished.
    - Removed compression / compression of SWF and republished.
    - Added more silence at the beginning and end of the slide.
    - Tried publishing in Flash 10 and Flash 11.
Can anyone offer any additional suggestions for solutions?  Many thanks for your time.

    I have some questions:
Is this voiceover audio or Text to Speech audio?
When you say you added more silence at the beginning and end of the slide do you mean silence added via the Slide Audio dialog in Captivate or silence copied and pasted in from pauses between words in the recorded audio?
Did you make sure that you moved the audio clips away from the beginning and end of the slide by at least one or two tenths of a second to ensure Captivate does not 'stitch' the clips together with those on previous or next slides?

  • Captivate 4 text to speech function

I just downloaded the trial version for Captivate 4. I
specifically wanted to see the new text to speech function that
they have added to it. When I downloaded it and tried to use it, I
received an error message that stated "Unable to decode and import
the selected wav/mp3 file". Is anyone familiar with this?

This did work and my Captivate is working great!
    Thank you!

    Hi,
Please update your Captivate 4 application by installing the latest patch available. To install patch, launch Captivate and follow menu items "Help > Update". Captivate 4 patch update will be recognized and installed on your system.
Once patch is installed, try to record the same scenario. Do let us know if the recording succeeds for you.

  • Remove imsmanifest catalog tag text 'Adobe Captivate Course'

    Greetings,
After I've using elearning suite 6's multi-scorm packager (would love for this to be a part of basic Cp6, nuther topic),
I see that in the imsmanifest for the root folder (zipped) there is a <catalog> tag with the text 'Adobe Captivate Course'. Please see pic.
I don't remember seeing an opportunity to edit out this text and replace with a more accurate description. Of course I can edit it out of the imsmanifest.xml file, but I'd rather see where this can be removed/edited up front.
Can someone explain what I'm missing or why this is happening?
    Much Thanks,
    k

    Hi
Can you please forward the file, or share it in a shared location, so that we can look into the issue?\

  • Can Adobe Captivate free trial version convert Japanese text memo

Can Adobe Captivate free trial version change Japanese sentence (put in slide memo) into Japanese voice
    after pushing conversion button ?
perhaps text to speech engine converts alphabet letter into voice, so I tried to change Japanese letter into conversion , after converted there was no reaction, but I put an English letter and converted , English voice was occurered.
    Is this right?
sorry to have writted bad English expression . Please someone to anser what I know, thank you.

    Hi Picyan,
The text to speech functionality in Captivate only supports English at this moment.  More languages will come later but I don't know when Japanese will be available.

  • Adobe Captivate 5.5 and Neo Speech: issue to use Paul voice

    Hello,
I have installed succesfully Adobe Captivate 5.5 and then Neo speech Add-on. But unfortunately, when using Speech management function, I can't find Paul and Kate voice. These voices are not proposed in the voice list while the installation has suceeded.
A Kate and Paul directories have been install under Adobe Captivate 5.5 but I don't know why these voices seems to be not installed.
My PC uses Windows XP, default language = french. Adobe Captivate has been installed in English.
    Thanks for your support,
    Odile

    Hi,
First I have installed Adobe Captivate 5.5.
Then I have installed Neo spech.
I have restarted my PC, then launch Captivate: Paul and Kate voices are not present in Speech Manager. And I have no special error message, only voices missing.
After that I have installed Loquendo speechs.
Launch again Captivate and see that Loquendo voices are pesent in Speech Manager.
Now I will show you Neo Speech install report, installation done after an Captivate application stop:
The installation has succeeded in the good directory.
When installing Loquendo the report is not really the same, it seems that some additional execution are done:
Following other discussions on the forum, I have looked at my Windows Control Panel Voice and see that 3 voices are proposed. I assume that these are Windows voice. I didn't find Stefan, Simon, Kate or Paul voices and I'm not ablle to add or configure something.
If someone has an idea of the issue
