Text tone keeps going to default instead of new choice

I changed my text tone from the default tri tone to another (ding) and it only works when I get a text from an iPhone. Otherwise, if I get a text from a non-smartphone it is the tri tone. It also goes to tri tone when i say NONE for sound. This is sooooo anoying.

try a simple thing : On/Off + Home buttons Hold them both till the apple logo appears, release and wait for the restart

Text tone keeps going quiet for no reason

Hello all.
Since the latest update I'm having a problem with my volume levels.
The text tone keeps going quiet on its own , so low I can't hear it properly but the ringer is still loud.
When I press the + and - volume buttons the ringer noise level goes up & down but the text tone stays the same.
Did it not used to change the volume of both the text AND the ringer?
To turn the text alert volume up, I now have to keep having to go into one of my videos and turning the volume up.
But then if I watch a video and turn the volume down the text alert volume goes down too!
Can anyone please help?

If you are having issues with your text tone going silent, and you are not changing your ring/silent switch, you may want to try some things to troubleshoot.
iPhone Buttons
First, quit all running applications and test again -
iOS: Force an app to close
Next, I would try restarting the iPhone -
Turn your iOS device off and on (restart) and reset
If the issue is still present, you may want to restore the iPhone as a new device -
How to erase your iOS device and then set it up as a new device or restore it from backups

IPhone text noise keeps going off

On my iPhone 4, the text sound keeps going off and the screen doesn't light up. When I check my phone, I have text message, alert, notification, etc. please help. Is there something wrong with my phone?

HELP Unselected ringer tone keeps going off every 5 minutes, how do I stop this!

Ringer "tune_FurElise" keeps going off every 5 minutes. Driving me and everyone around me crazy! This ringer tone has not been selected for anything and/or anyone's contact number. I think you can't. But you can download an application to free up to 5MB, including all images/videos/ringtones that come preloaded with your Blackberry. I don't know it the application allows you to select what you want to keep.

IMovie text styles keep reverting to default

I've altered type styles in iMovie, finalized the video and exported to youtube without issue, but the next day, when I reopen the Project, some of the type styles have reverted to the default styles, and I have to restyle text. In some cases, I will copy a Project to create a variation of the video, and some of the old, default type styles will appear in the copy, even though the original is fine. There appears to be no way to manually save these changes permanently. It's causing me to delay delivery of a job. Any insights?

Do I know - NO - BUT I've a general approache
If iMovie used to behave in one way - then suddenly stops doing so e.g. after a Panic/Forced Halt (very common origin)
then most probably the iMovie pref. file got corrupted
this file contains settings as PAL or NTSC and other things that one want iMovie to keep till started next time. May be choice of font and size too.
Trach this iMovie pref file - and it will revert to factory settings - then set it at Your liking and it most probably will remain.
• Delete iMovie pref. file
iMovie pref. file resides.
Mac Hard Disk (start-up HD)/Users/"Your account"/Library/Preferences
and is named. (one or more of these)
com.apple.iMovie.plist
com.apple.iMovie3.plist
com.apple.iMovie7.plist
com.apple.iMovie8.plist
com.apple.iMovie9.plist
com.apple.iMovieApp.plist
and find
com.apple.iApps.plist
While iMovie is NOT RUNNING - move this/these file/s out on to desk-top.
Now restart iMovie.
If You run Mac OS X.7 or more - then the Library in the User-account folder is invisibly and need to be set to be viewable. IT IS NOT in the Library on Root level (when opening MacintoshHD - first window = root level)
( It can be done like this: Open Terminal, then enter: chflags nohidden ~/Library
Press return, then restart, and it will always be visible until the next major update, when you do the same thing again. )
or - do like this.
On the Finder window at the top left of the screen,
Hold down the Option key and clicked on Go.
This allowed You to see the Library folder and select it.
Then keep the Option button pressed down in order to see and select the Library folder.
Once found it, You are able to navigate to the iMovie preferences file and move it to the trash. iMovie then start’s up fine!

Why does the default text tone play instead of the personalized text tone I have selected for a given contact?

Tri tone alert is not one of the options i chose on my phone but it keeps going off. There isi nothing displayed on screen when it does this please help anyone.

I'm having the same problem, although I DO have tri-tone alert for my message sound, but it keeps going off even when I get no texts and this just started early this morning around 3am or so. My iphone keeps going into a huge text or zoom mode, how do I get it back to normal?

I have an iPhone 5S and just upgraded to Yosemite, apparently a big mistake after reading a lot of support items.
My phone keeps going into a zoom or huge text mode and I cannot get it back to normal. I also have an iPad that I send and receive messages on so not sure if that is causing a problem, it never was a problem before this upgrade.

OS X Yosemite is for Macs, not iPhones. Perhaps you meant iOS 8.
Try tapping twice on the screen with three fingers.
And/or go to Settings > General > Accessibility > Zoom OFF.
It has been this way since iOS 5.

yes, i have the same issue too... is there a way to change your notification tone? the only way i kno to change tones is through settings->sounds....

HT4623 i have a new email and password set up on i tones but it not coming on my phone it keeps going back to the old email i dont use it any more

my new email and new password is set up on i tones and not on my iphone 4 but under settins show my new email but my updates wont allow me to update it keeps going back to the old email and i dont use it any more

Did you change the email associated with your Apple ID or create a new Apple ID?
The former simply requires signing out of the iTunes store and back in with the new credentials.
The later is a waste of time as content acquired via iTunes is permanently tied to the Apple ID it was acquired with.

Everytime I get a text message it goes off three times why is that?

Go to Settings > Notifications > Messages > scroll to the bottom and change the Repeat Alert.
