TEXT TONES NOT WORKING ON YOUR iPHONE 4/4S?

This is the problem and how I fixed it... Everything works fine, there is not a software problem!!
This deals with anything bluetooth. If you have a newer car/truck that is Bluetooth enabled and you are using the Bluetooth to listen to your music as well as making hands free calls, you need to just set up bluetooth to make and answer calls ONLY, DO NOT SET THE VEHICLE TO BE ABLE TO PICK UP YOUR MUSIC, use the cord that came with your iPhone. You will need to delete the phone from your vehicle and program it again for just the phone only, NOT multi-media. If you have Bluetooth on your iMac and your iPhone is synced to it, unsync it and use your cord to send/receive info to your iMac/PC. I have received 3 different iPhones from Verizon and thought I was going to lose my mind because my iPhone's text tone would not work on any of them until I realized it was only when I was near my truck or close to my iMac. So, as I am typing this out, I have received 2 text messages and heard the tone!!! PROBLEM SOLVED!! Hope this helps everyone with this problem!!

Reset the device:
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings

Itunes ringtones and text tones not working??

I downloaded a ring tone and a text tone, from the itunes store,and it was working great for about three weeks. I lost charge on my phone yesterday and soon as I powered back up the default ringtones have seemed to take over even though my tones are set to the two tones I downloaded. any answers to why? or is there a fix available? I also have the latest software update iOS 8.1.2 on my iphone6.

Try doing a hard reboot of the iPhone
1. hold the power and home buttons down
2. you will see the "swipe to turn off" screen come up... KEEP HOLDING THE BUTTONS
3. The screen will go black (turn off)... KEEP HOLDING THE BUTTONS
4. A white Apple logo will appear on the screen, now you can release the buttons. Left the iPhone boot... should only take a couple minutes.

Ringtones and text tones not working

I finally figured out on my own that I have to turn OFF Do Not Disturb for my Iphone 4 to alert me to calls or texts. I had it set for DNDisturb 10p-9a. It's 6:55p. I got sick of missing calls and texts. Why is DND messed up? This has been happening for about three days I guess.

I purchased a ringtone today and since I did so, none of my alerts are working. My iPod is playing fine, so I know it's not the speakers. I just have no idea when I get a call or text message! Please help!

Facebook text msg not working ? on iphone 4s ?

why i dont get any text msg on my iphone 4s only notification ? and i had already nokia n8 was fine why only this ?help plz or there is problem in the phone ?

Ok so apparently they FIXED it!!
-Go to the facebook app on phone
-Go to Account Settings
-Go to Notifications
-Go to Mobile Push
-Look at the top of the screen and it said "Sound for push notifications"
-Edit it to ON for all notifications
They fixed it I now receive sounds for notifications!!!!!

Have you tried a Reset (No Data will be Lost)

If the iPhone came from the US then it is locked to AT&T. To unlock an iPhone the original carrier is the only one who can unlock the iPhone and AT&T will not unlock iPhones. So there is not official way to unlock the iPhone 4.
At this point there is no way to hack the iPhone 4 running 4.2.1 to unlock it either so the phone and messaging apps will never work. You basically have an iPod touch.

Actually, I just found the answer to my issue in this thread: The type correct/predict function for mail and text in iOS 8.0.2 was working fine then suddenly disappeared and reverted to the old style. I've checked all settings that seemed appropriate. How do I restore? I actually liked the new version.
Which says "a thin gray bar with a white dash in the middle of it immediately above the keyboard, you can reopen the suggestions by sliding up with one finger on the white dash."

I too have noticed a change, it seems with the new IOS update. My Predictive setting is on, but it seems before it would come up more often in predicting words and also give me a few choices. Now, it's not coming up as much and only providing one 'predictive' word which is not always right. This change is not very useful.

Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing on your iPhone. It sounds like you are not noticing transparency on your iPhone. It may be that you have "Increase Contrast" turned on in your iPhone settings.
I recommend verifying that Increase Contrast is turned off in Settings>General>Accessibility.

HA! By Jove I've Got it! it was simples..
TURN ON THE RINGING ON / OFF BUTTON ON THE SIDE OF YOUR PHONE JUST ABOVE THE VOLUME BUTTONS. THEN MAKE SURE THE VOLUME IS UP TO THE HIGHEST. NOW JUST TRY THIS!
I ALSO LOOKED UP A MANUAL ON IPHONE4:
Ringtones, Ring/Silent switch, and vibrate
iPhone comes with ringtones that sound for incoming calls, Clock alarms, and the Clock timer.
You can also purchase ringtones from songs in iTunes. See Chapter 22, iTunes Store, on page 94.
Set the default ringtone: Go to Settings > Sounds > Ringtone.
Turn the ringer on or off: Flip the switch on the side of iPhone.
Important: Clock alarms still sound even if you set the Ring/Silent switch to silent.
Turn vibrate on or off: Go to Settings > Sounds.
Assign a different ringtone for a contact: In Contacts, choose a contact, tap edit, then tap
Ringtone and choose a ringtone.

THE REASON MY PHONE HAD NO RING TONE, WAS SIMPLY BECAUSE THE VOLUME WAS TURNED DOWN. :-/

My Apple ID is not working on my iPhone. Help!

It depends on how you set up your phone. You can have different Apple IDs for different services; you ID for purchasing can be different that the one you use for iCloud, iMessage, FaceTime, etc.
If you have only one ID for all of these and you have now changed it, you need to make these changes on your phone. To change the ID you use for purchasing from the iTunes and app stores you go to Settings>iTunes & App Stores (or just Settings>Store in iOS 5), tap the ID, sign out, then sign back in with the changed ID and/or password. To change the ID for iMessage you go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive (or Settings>Messages>Receive At in iOS 5), tap the ID at the top, sign out, then sign back in with the changes. Same for FaceTime by going to Settings>FaceTime.
To a different ID for iCloud your go to Settings>iCloud on your phone and turn all data you are syncing with iCloud (contacts, calendars, etc.) to Off. When prompted choose to keep the data on your iPhone. After everything is turned off, scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account. Next, set up a new iCloud account using your new ID, then turn syncing for your data (contacts, etc.) back to On. When prompted, choose Merge. This will upload the data to your new account.
