Text tool: hitting 'enter' after typing a line disengages text tool

When I type text I get no new line when I hit return (enter). This happens whether I've drawn a text box first or if I'm just typing on a line. The text tool seems to "disengage"—it's still selected in the tool box & layer palette, but I no longer have an active cursor. This means I can only type one line of text at a time. Anything typed after hitting return doesn't show up. The fonts themselves work, and the leading is not so great that the text wouldn't fit in the text box or on the page. I'm hoping this is a common problem/bug that someone has encountered before! CS4 on Windows Vista.

How about this:
Go to Edit Keyboard Shortcuts.
Save the current configuration under a new name.
Load the set called Photoshop Defaults.
See if that helps.

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.

Need to hit Enter after a "silent" install?

I have been trying to automate a hands free install of 32bit and 64bit versions of the latest 11g client for Windows 2008r2 and Windows 7 64-bit and continue to see a prompt to hit Enter after the install is completed. If I am using the -silent switch then why do I need to interact with the install? Is there a -ReallySilent switch?
How is anyone automating the deployment of this version of the Oracle Client in Windows?
This is what I have so far in batch files, using response files I created using the GUI setup.exe method.

I found via appdeploy.com (now called itninja.com - such a great site!) that I might have better luck with OUI.EXE
I tried this and it appears to work so far - some of my switches might not be required or redundant though but an extra switch that doesn't break the install is no skin of my nose.

PO item text is copied to the Financial Document line item text

A user have requested that the PO item text is copied to the Financial
document line item text, to aid them in analysis of the GR/IR account.
is there any solution to implement this ?

There is no standard setting for this requirement. Check with your ABAP team for this.

When I hit return after typing, the cursor returns to the beginning of the sentence

I open a new layer.
I type my text
I hit return'
The cursor starts typing at the beginning of the sentence, typing right over the text I just finished. It will not go to the next line. I've been using PS since 2 and I have never seen this nor do I know what to do about it.

There are all sorts of gotchas in the Character panel. That line of T T TT Tt at the bottom produce faux styles, for instance, so if you find all your text is capitalized, or strikethrough, you'll know where to look. You'll notice I had vertical scale set to 118%? Well I had forgotten that was set that way, and I will have been laying out distorted text because of it! Purists frown upon changing a fonts aspect ratio that way, because it spoils a carefully designed font — they would say to find the right font for the job. That is much easier than it used to be now we have TypeKit with its useful, and much appreciated filters. Also be aware of the anti-aliasing at the bottom right corner, and also on the options bar when the Type tool is selected. I think some users go years without realizing that is there, and then wonder why their text is all jagged.
If you have a Lynda.com subscription, Nigel French has an excellent title called Photoshop for Designers — Type Effects. Nigel also has a nice British accent, and a lot easier to listen to than some Lynda.com presenters.

Having to hit enter after input field

In one of our application once the users has input data in a
field, they do not hit Enter but rather they click on a button. In
Captivate 3, is there a way to validate that input entry without
having to ask the user to hit Enter (hitting enter doesn't happen
in the apps).

Indeed you may configure Captivate to do exactly what you
need. If you double-click your Text Entry Box object and look at
the Options tab, you will find a check box allowing you to also
display a Button that is related to the Text Entry Box. The Button
is then used for validation. Note that the Button may also be
customized and made transparent so that you may overlay an image of
the application Button to achieve the same look and feel.

Why can't I load a page by hitting enter after I type it into the location bar? I have to click on the green arrow to load new pages.

When I type a URL into the location bar, I have to click on the green arrow at the right end of the location bar for the new page to load. In previous versions of Firefox you just hit enter to load the new page.

This didn't help my problem. When I restart Firefox in Safe Mode, the problem goes away but none of the other troubleshooting tips help. I noticed today that when I start Firefox in normal mode, I get this error: "TypeError: Components.classes[cid] is undefined." It's a Javascript error, and I also noticed that when I go to the Gmail page in normal mode the cursor isn't automatically placed in the username field like usual. When I start Firefox in safe mode it does this, however.

The reps at that time deflected the easiest course of action, by trying to get you to replace the phone under insurance instead of returning the phone. The Early Edge payment option requires the current phone on the line using the early Edge must be returned to Verizon Wireless. Did you once considered going to a third party site like Swappa to purchase a gently used device for your daughter?

Pressing enter after typing URL no longer loads webpage, fix?

It used to be that all you had to do was type half a URL or the whole thing and press enter and the web page would load, now pressing enter does not work, how do I fix this?

The AVG Safe Search extension is causing an issue where pressing Enter when trying to go to a website does not work. You have to click the green go arrow instead. Until this is resolved you can work around this issue by disabling the extension:
At the top of the Firefox window, click on the Firefox button (Tools menu in Windows XP), and then click Add-ons. The Add-ons Manager tab will open.
#In the Add-ons Manager tab, select the Extensions panel.
#Click Disable button next to the AVG Safe Search extension to disable it.

I now have to hit enter after clicking on a URL drop down site (never had to do this before) what do I change so it was automatically send me to the URL without hitting enter (like it always used to)...?

just in the last couple of days this changed, it used to be a 1 click and send you there process on this drop down list of the sites I go to most often. How do I change things so it's back to the way it used to be...

Do you still have the plugins enabled (Tools > Add-ons > Plugins) that are used for that streaming?

FF was running fine. My cursor jumped out of the text box while i was typing and now no text box on FF will let me type in it? Help!

Basically as above, i opened a new tab to search for an article and as i was typing the cursor jumped out of the box without my realising. I placed the cursor back in the box and started but no characters appeared. I tried the URL bar and again nothing. I opened Chrome and it worked fine so clearly something ive managed to do but i have no idea what!
I didn't use any shift, alt or ctrl buttons accidentally. I have tried shutting FF down and reopening but nothing.
Can anyone help please?

Hello darrendons, try disabling graphics '''hardware acceleration'''. Since this feature was added to Firefox, it has gradually improved, but there still are a few glitches.
You might need to restart Firefox in order for this to take effect, so save all work first (e.g., mail you are composing, online documents you're editing, etc.).
Then perform these steps:
*Click the orange Firefox button at the top left, then select the "Options" button, or, if there is no Firefox button at the top, go to Tools > Options.
*In the Firefox options window click the ''Advanced'' tab, then select "General".
*In the settings list, you should find the ''Use hardware acceleration when available'' checkbox. Uncheck this checkbox.
*Now, restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.
Additionally, please check for updates for your graphics driver by following the steps mentioned in the following Knowledge base articles:

Can't change rotating text on revoltion theme after I delete the menu text.

So I export a slideshow to iDVD. By default you have the revolution theme. There is text that says revolution main in the body of the menu and it says revolution main on the rotating text. There is also a button for my slideshow. So I change the revolution main text to what I want the rotating text to be then delete that text on the main menu. The rotating text then stays. But if I want to then change it, I can't see any way to do so because I deleted the button. What was it that I deleted? How do I get it back. I thought it was the title menu, so I add a new title menu button and try to change the text but the rotating text won't change. I am probably missing something simple, but I can't for the life of me figure it out.

Once deleted the title can't [it appears] be changed from the default of 'Revolution Extras' .. which is a nuisance as the rest of the project I'm working on is finished ... I thought i'd wait till the end to name it but find I am struggling to find out how.

Text positioning not correct while typing in Flex Mobile Text Area

When I try to write text in Flex mobile TextArea, the text positioning is not correct. What might be the issue? Do I need to specify some Skin Class for it?

Could be that the font doesn't have Hindi chars support and the text you paste is HTML chars.
You could try to embed a font you know has the appropriate chars and use that for global and Applications CSS classes.

Saf quits after hitting Enter in search field

As soon as I hit Enter after typing in Search field (Google or Acid or whatever) Safari quits. I reset it, I downloaded the latest version, I reset it again. Nothing seems to work. I've never had any problems with S at all until this and making me CRAZY!!! Please help.

When I type in an address on the address line and hit enter, nothing happens. It used to work. Now i have to hit the icon in the address bar to get it to load. Is there a way to make it load when I hit enter?

I've tried typing in different addresses and none of them load if I just hit "enter" after I finish typing. I'm confused because that's what I've always done in the past. I don't know why this doesn't work anymore.

Yes I had this problem and just now discovered that it was because the add-on 'Omnibar'. I disabled it and now it works fine. Most likely one of your add-ons is causing the problem as TonyE suggested already and lead me to the discovery of my problem in a previous post.
