Text Variable not working correctly
In CS3 I could create a TEMPLATE (.indt) with the "creation date" text variable in it and when I opened it it would have the CURRENT DATE (the date the new file was generated from the template) . In CS4 it opens with the date the TEMPLATE was MADE and not the current date (the day the new file was generated). I need the template to open with the current date (the day the template was opened). I tried using the "modification date" variable which works the FIRST time but if I open it the next day the date changes. I need the date to remain the same as the creation date. Does this make sense? Why did Adobe change the behavior of this? Please help.

Allow me to clarify my situation again.
I have three columns:
1. Actual This Year
Type: Selection
2. Actual Last Year
Type: Selection
3. % of Actual This Year / Actual Last Year
Type: Formula
Definition: (Actual This Year) %A (Actual Last Year)
All columns use &0T_FYEAR& as text replacement variable. As such, all title would have year text.
The first two columns have been restricted with Fiscal Year variable, 0P_FYEAR.
1. Actual This Year
0P_FYEAR
2. Actual Last Year
0P_FYEAR - 1
Upon executing the query, I got the first two columns displaying their titles right, but the third column does not.
For example, let's assume I entered 2008 for 0P_FYEAR variable, the columns would display the following titles:
1. 2008
2. 2007
3. &0T_FYEAR&
I need the third column to display current fiscal year i.e. 2008 but it does not.

Text Variables Not Appearing Correctly in InCopy
In working on a project I have discovered that the text variables do not properly appear in some of my InCopy assignments. I have tried deleting the assignments and recreating them, synchronizing the variables in the whole book, and checking in and out the assignments in InDesign. None of the approaches I have tried have resolved the issue. Hoping someone in the community may have run across this issue before and knows what I'm missing.
Correct Dates in InDesign Incorrect Dates in InCopyYou can start by running a variable report in Robohelp. Tools > Reports > Variables.
Make sure all your variables are accounted for in the Robohelp project. If not, reimport the files and let Robohelp rebuild everything.
Assuming that your variables are recognized by Robohelp, then in FrameMaker you can try this. Select the heading in question, and then click Heading 1 in your paragraph catalog. Next, while the heading is still highlighted, click Default Font in your character catalog. This should remove any additional character formatting on the variable itself.
Make sure you've mapped styles for paragraphs and character formats in Robohelp. Right-click the referenced FrameMaker book in Robohelp. Click Properties, and then select the Style Settings tab. Click Edit in the Style Mappings area. Select Character Styles in the Style Mapping Type box. You'll want to make sure you've get every FrameMaker style mapped to an acceptable Robohelp style.
That's all I can think of off the top of my head. Hope it helps point you in the right direction.

Crystal Export Tab Text (TTX) Not working correctly in program using Objects Driver XI
I have created a report in Crystal 2013 that I need to export as a tab delimited file for import into QuickBooks. If I run the export from within Crystal 2013, the export works fine. All the data is there delimited by tabs. Each field is set to "Can Grow".
The image in Excel shows I am in cell A3 and it has only one item in it TRNS, each field is in its own column.
We purchased software that uses the Business Objects XI Driver (the Crystal Redistributable program). When I run the program to export the data (the software only lets you export this report) and choose tab delimited, none of the data is delimited, it is all concatenated together in one big long string for each line.
If the data is longer than the field length in Crystal, the "Can Grow" option moves all the extra information to line 2, and all fields that had extra data and went to line 2 is concatenated together in one string. And if the data went to a line 3 it concatenated all the line 3 data together.
The image in Excel shows I am in cell A3 and it has everything on row 3 combined into one string, data that is not set to "Can Grow" is cut off like the date which is showing 6/13/20 (does not show the 14) and it continues to the 1100 (which is the General Ledger code, but cuts off "Account Payables"). The company name is set to "Can Grow". The company name is CASTS CAST SERVICES AND MACHINGING. You can see CASTS CAST on line 3 but the rest of the company name moves down to row 4 and 5.
If I export the file from the software as txt, I get the same thing as exporting it as tab delimited.
I cannot figure out why this is doing this.Hi Les,
Unfortunately CR XI is end of life and end of support so we can't get any patches to you, if one existed for this issue or not.
Only option is to ask them if they have an update to current supported CR Versions and runtime, CR 2011, 2013 and the runtime is CR for Visual Studio.
FYI, your TTX in the title is NOT the correct acronym to use because we had a legacy export type to ttx file format, it's no longer supported at runtime, so you you should refer to it as Tab Delimited and not TTX.

Auto text/Punctuation not working correctly?
Hi there, I've recently got a Curve 9320 model, and although the capitalization and auto grammar and punctuation work fine when I'm typing text messages, it will not work on apps, for example I use AIM a lot, and the words I type will be lower case, and have no grammar or punctuation. However my previous phone was the older Curve, and auto spell and punctuation feature worked for everything.
Any idea on how to get it to work with apps, especially AIM?

Does this lack of punctuation and auto text only seem to occur within AIM or have you noticed this happen within other apps or message formats?

HT2509 Font Book not working correctly? or Text Edit not working correctly?
I downloaded a font onto Font Book and it works perfectly on Font Book and all the characters and symbols come up correctly, as they should. Then when I use it on Text Edit, it replaces the ', " and @ with a $ sign. What can I do to fix this, or is it unfixable? I'm using a Mac OS X 10.7.5 and I'm not sure what could be causing this situation.
It does that because that's the way the lazy person who created this font built it. Here's the layout of the font you're having trouble with:
Now compare it to the OS X supplied font Andale Mono:
Note on the third line, second from the right that Andale Mono has an @ symbol in the "at" position. The person who created the font you downloaded types a $ sign because that's what they put there, along with dozens of other glyph positions (must have really loved how they drew that $ sign). Which when you look where the quote and apostrophe are, they are also filled with the $ glyph.
The font is a piece of junk. Delete it. -
Text Var not working correctly in workbook
Hello all,
I have created a text var which is working on replacement path on 0calday.
i have added this text var in a query and ran through query designer ( execute through web ) it is showing correct results.
i have created a workbook whereas i have added this query and some other similar queries as well .
Now when i run the workbook , it is showing incorrect results for text var , while as when i am running query individualy ; it is showing correct results.
Kindly advice ..

Do the other queries in that workbooks have the same variable for 0calday..?
If yes, it may be possible that it is showing the values according to the variable value of the other query.
If this is the case, try by doing the variable melting off, from Workbook Settings > Variables > and uncheck Display similar variables only once.
Now when you refresh the workbook, it will ask for the variable values for each query individually.

Symbol and Text Substitution not working correctly

in „Language & Text“ I have the following symbol and text substitutions enabled, which aren’t working in Pages version 5.1.1 (iMac 2011, Yosemite 10.10.1):
„- - >“ (written without blank space between the characters) which should be substituted to „➜“.
In Safari this works, but in Pages it isn’t working.
Other substitutions work in Pages, for example:
„! ! s s“ (written without blank space between characters) is substituted to „ẞ“ in Safari and Pages.
Can somebody help me?In Pages v5.5.1 and Yosemite 10.10.1, I can reproduce the injected space issue resulting from your Keyboard > Text substitution for „-->” to „→” . Even if you remove one of the '-', Pages will still insert the space before the right arrow in the result. This is a bug.
Fix: „..>” will produce the arrow without the injected space. -
HT201365 my text to send messages is now not working correctly after upgrading
Since upgrading last week my text is not working correctly it is very slow does not show the letter being used and takes seconds to be put in
Looking into the Diagnostics and Usage Reports in 'Settings' -> 'General' -> 'About' I see nine different "ExcResource_MobileMail_DATE" reports. Looking at the report I see a SysInfoCrashReport that indicates that the CPU was pegged at over 50% (mostly over 75%) for over 180 seconds using the MobileMail app.
I also see a "MobileMail_DATE" report that indicates that there was an 'Exception raised during monitored invocation of _loadMoreMessagesWithMaxVisibleIndexPath:maximumIndexPathsBySource:, exception: ** -[__NSArrayM objectAtIndex:]: index 4294967295 beyond bounds for empty array"
And finally I see three "stacks+MobileMail-DATE" reports with "Power assertion timeout for 'com.apple.message.fetchMobileSynchronously...' Simply resetting it now." and "Power assertion timeout for 'com.apple.mobilemail.messagebodyloader' Simply resetting it now" reports.
I updated to iOS 7.0.4 and decided to try and delete the account in my Mail settings and recreate it and set it to manual instead of the non-working fetch. Now, when I try to check my mail it still takes up to five minutes to respond, pulling the screen to refresh brings up the spinner for about one second and then disappears and no indications of activity occur until about three minutes later when I see the spinner in the status bar near the clock and then see a notification that it's downloading X of Y messages. At that point, message headers come in very quick and then about a minute later message previews come in. At random times, opening the mail app I get a "Password incorrect" error, even though the password works on other attempts. -
Text formatting in Numbers is not working correctly.
In Numbers on Chrome text formatting is not working correctly, it's almost as if a CSS file is not being loaded. To be precise, when I try to make a cell Bold there is no bolding. I am using Arial as a font. This has been an issue on Mac and Windows. Any ideas?
Do you have the same problem with Safari or Firefox?

I have a manual that contains headings and index entries that contain less than and greater than characters, < and >. The Publish to Responsive HTML5 function escapes these correctly in the main body of the text but does not work correctly in either the Contents or the Index of the generated HTML. In the Contents the words are completely missing and in the index entries the '\' characters that are required in the markers remain in the entry but the leading less than symbol and the first character of the word is deleted; hence what should appear as <dataseries> appears as \ataseries\>. I believe this is a FMv12 bug. Has anyone else experienced this? Is the FM team aware and working on a fix. Any suggestions for a workaround?
The Index issue is more complicated since in order to get the < and > into the index requires the entry itself to be escaped. So, in order to index '<x2settings>' you have to key '\<x2settings\>'. Looking at the generated index entry in the .js file we see '<key name=\"\\2settings\\>\">. This is a bit of a mess and produces an index entry of '\2settings\>'. This ought to be '<key name=\"&lt;x2settings&gt;\" >'. I have tested this fix and it works - but the worst of it is that the first character of the index entry has been stripped out. Consequently I cannot fix this with a few global changes - and I have a lot of index entries of this type. I'm looking forward to a response to this since I cannot publish this document in its current state.

** Filtering is not working correctly in ALV (REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY)
Hi Friends,
We have one Z report that output is displayed in ALV. We are using the standard FM 'REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY.
We have requirement to remove leading zeros for the field like Material Number (MATNR), Equipment Number (EQUNR) etc. We did the changes by applying the field catalog properties as below.
lw_fieldcat-lzero = space.
lw_fieldcat-no_zero = 'X'.
After this, the MATNR and EQUNR is displayed correctly in the ALV. (Leading zeros are suppressed). But, when we do filter for these fields, in the filter window it displays all the values with leading zeros.
1. We don't understand why it is showing in the Filter widow with all leading zeros. All it shows all the records instead of unique items.
Later on, we removed the above fieldcat coding. Then, we have called the CONVERSION_EXIT routines (in the domain) for the fields to remove leading zeros.
Now, the MATNR and EQUNR is displayed correctly (without leading zeros) in ALV. When we do filter, it is also doing filtering correctly. But, when we do filter which have EQUNR having long values (after zero suppression), it is not working correctly. i.e no items are displayed in the ALV.
Not only for this items. If we filter character columns which have long text, it is not filtering correctly.
2. It is not able to understand why the filtering is not working for long items. But in the standard report, the filtering is working correctly.
We are using SAP ECC 6.0.
Friends, can you clarify the about doubts. It is surprising for me.

I agreed on your point. When we define the Internal table the type for element EQUNR & QUMNR , we are referring the SAP data element for EQUNR, QMNUM field.
Our doubt is even though we refer the standard data element, in the ALV display, it shows with leading zeros and also it creates problems in the filtering and in the filter window all values instead of unique nos.

Property inspector not working correctly
The property inspector in CS3 is not working correctly. When
I select text or any other object the property inspector does not
change for that object. But when I right mouse click on the
selected object it does. Do I need to change a setting?

Text layers not saved correctly as PDF from PS?
I frequently save layouts I do in Photoshop as PDF's. Lately I very often will discover the text does not display correctly in the PDF. One or two lines of text will display as white with a thin black outline, rather than as the basic solid black I'd specified.
I work on a Windows 7 machine with the current version of PS. The text is on layers when I save the file to PDF (from PS), but I do not include the layers in the PDF, so they should be flattening down.
Any ideas why this happens? I noticed a few weeks ago when it was also doing this that I updated the program a day later and the PDF's were not exhibiting this issue. But, now it's starting again. A big timewaster for me.
Thanks for any suggestions offered.Text doesn't flatten until you tell it to. In fact that may be the problem here - you are telling the PDF maker to not retain vector text and when it tries to flatten, some layer style or something else gets in the way. Try to play with the PDF options. also manaulyl flatten the document in PS before saving to PDF...

Look, this is your problem and it's your responsibility to fix it. There are people here who are happy to help you, but it's up to you to provide a reasonable statement of what's wrong, what you've tried, what you don't understand. For instance:
Does it compile? If not, post the complete error message.
Does it run, but throw an exception? If so, post the stack trace.
Does it not throw an exception, but not behave the way you expect? Then describe the expected beavior and the observed behavior.
Do you really need to be told this stuff? It seems like common sense that when you're asking people to spend their time helping you, you should give them the information they need to be able to do so. -
XSLT not working correctly in BPEL

We have tried this instead of writing new code in the xslt , pls do the following
1.Open the xslt in jdev.
2.Remove the attribute exclude-result-prefixes for the element xsl:stylesheet.
3.Your new XSLT file should look like below,
