Text vibrate

Hi my phone doesn't vibrate when I receive a text but does when it shows my balance. How can I fix this, vibrate is turned on

As long as you sync to iTunes before the restore and iTunes is set to sync contacts...No...
You loose things like network settings for saved WIFI passwords, text conversations, device settings like click or what ringer as default stuff like that...What ever is synced in iTunes...ie. contacts, email, calendars, Notes is saved in the machine...
Since I can't see if you're MAC or PC I can't give greater detail but for example on MAC...contacts synced in iTunes are saved in Address Book and Notes in Mail along with emails...calendars in iCal...so when you choose to sync that data in iTunes those MAC applications sync data between the MAC and APP and iPhone...so even on full restore, when you tell iTunes to sync that data again it gets pulled back in from those apps that are still up to date with your last saved settings...

Text vibrate options?

I have an iPhone 4S OS ver 5.1.1. Is there any way to make the phone vibrate more than once upon an incoming text? I know you can do this through accesability for incoming voice calls but the text vibrate seems to be set to once and once only.

When I do that, it neither vibrates or chimes (even when the silent mode switch is off).

It is NOT YOU... and PERSONALLY i get upset when Apple does not play by their own rules.
IT IS TEXT, let me over score it and hit my keys assigned to speak it.
I live with chronic pain and reading becomes near impossible. So i LIVE by speech, and listening to things. I get really ticked off cant use it in the iTunes Store, or read about Pod cast etc. Just like can past html into txt editor but cant into my notes in the address book?? come on guys.
I also am getting more and more upset about the fact i can run OS X and UNIX on my mac, and any form of Microsoft Windows, but i cant play an iOS App? Come on. What are you waiting for Google to write an app for me to run iOS Apps on my Android? This is as bad as the introduction of the iPhone and not having the ability to copy and paste. I had hounded my brother for getting into apple since 1984, and he finally broke down with the iPhone, and i did not hear the end of it not being able to search his data and do simple copy and paste.
Apple needs to expand their testing and input on general products. There are so many little simple things that could be so helpful. Remember CopyDoubler in the old mac os and it would auto update data of folders within folders when doing a copy. Very nice when working on a project and keeping a back up copy on the server.
Little things like this make a big difference, and are not much for them to incorporate into the system, and keeping thing consistent between apps, machines, new technology.
Im really ticked off ABC canceled their ABC evening news podcast and only have their iPad App. Well what if im at my Mac Pro, my iMac or my MacBook Pro. About 10 or 15 times the cost of an iPad, and yet i cant run a stupid app to catch the evening news. Heyyyyy but i can run my Windows apps. Now does that make sense?

How can you make phone ring but text vibrate

How do you set your phone to ring but all other notifications ie texts &emails vibrate?

As i mentioned up top, you can do this with a silent ringtone. I have read some app's have muted ringtones(don't know of the app name though) OR, GarageBand can make ringtones on Mac. (that is where i think you would need further explaining on, if you have Mac).
The silent tone will be set as text's tone (as the same if it made noise), it will vibrate two times quick...While asleep, awake, on a phone call, still texting, at almost any time i can think of, (other than powered OFF.)
I have recommended this method, for people asking as a regular ringtone, for telemarketer's, unknown callers, and other sort of people. And YES, you will need the Vibrate turned on.

Can a text vibrate but an inbound call ring at the same time?

I have an iphone 4. I would like to keep the ringer on for inbond calls but silence texts. Can i do that?

No, it's not the same thing. It would still allow the text to vibrate. "None" turns off all the text alerts. As far as the iPhone "knows" a tone that is merely a recording of silence is just as much a sound as the tritone. As long as you still have vibrate turned on, it will vibrate as well.

Disable new text vibrate when unlocked?

I would like to disable vibrate when I'm currently in a texting session. It seems silly to be notified of a new text while I am in the texting conversation and looking at the screen. I would still like to be notified of a new text when the phone is locked, however.

There is no deficiency.
The phone vibrates unnecessarily, over and over again in the middle of text conversation
It vibrates to let you know you have received a text message.
This is clear evidence of poor use case analysis and deficiency in design

On the Iphone 4, if normal ringtone set for phone, can texting be set to vibrate only and not create tone?

Settings>Sounds>Ringer and Alerts>Vibrate>On, then Text Tone>None.

If you have vibrate turned on, it will be for all incoming calls/texts, etc. No way as far as I know to have it vibrate ONLY for texts.

Text/Vibration Problems

I recently got a Blackberry and everything was fine 'til yesterday, when I started getting vibrations with no text. It turns out that people are texting me, but I'm just not getting it. I have to reply to the person (assuming I know who it is), and then SOMETIMES our text history comes up (just like any other contact), but sometimes there's nothing. It seemed like whenever I asked "Did you just text me?" that I'd actually get/see the person's reply.

On the install/restore disks that came with the machine. IIRC, pop one in, restart, holding down the D key. Check the documentation that shipped with it.

Vibrate Texts, Sound Calls

Is there a way I can set my text messages to vibrate while still leaving the other options on ring? I know you can change to silent/ring mode and switch to vibrate but that makes incoming calls vibrate too. I would like to only make incoming texts vibrate while if i get a call it will ring.

IPhone now only vibrating a few times?

When I got a phone call, my iPhone 5 would vibrate until the call went to voicemail, or until I hit the lock button. Now it seems it is vibrating only a few times (I want to say four times) until it just stops vibrating - but the call is still going. I keep mistakenly thinking that they hung up! The text vibrates are working fine.
Has this been an issue for anyone and how did you fix it? Thanks

You can set different vibration patterns and lengths.
If you go to Settings>Sounds and touch the "Vibration" setting you will see them.
The default is "Alert" which I believe keeps vibrating until the call is answered or hung up.

How to turn imsg vibration off?

could anybody tell me how to turn off the vibration for imsgs alone wthout turning off the text vibration and the ringtone vibration.

Email notifications promblem on 5800

I UPDATEED TO THE LATEST FW30 AND HARD REST +MY PHONE. AFYET WHICH I HHAD THIS THING ON THE HOMESCREEN TELLING ME TO SET UP AN EMAIL INBOSX, WHICH I DID BUT LATTER DELEED IT I NOW SET UP A NEW INBOX WHICH DOES SHOW ON THE HOME SCREEN I EVEN CHECKED IT FRM THE SETTING BUT STILL NO CHANGE... What I've done in the past is in your email client set up a rule to forward the notifications that you want as a SMS message. E.x. Outlook rule of When Sender is [email protected] and subject contains "Server down" forward to
[email protected] or whichever carrier. This allowed me to use the text notification settings instead of the email. You can set text vibrations and I believe also use the camera flash as a LED notification under accessability options

Droid Turbo and Lollipop

I just checked out my nephew moto x and it has lollipop 5.0.1 on it and it was pretty sweet. I really want to get the lollipop. I have been thinking about getting a different phone just so I can have it but I like this Droidzilla of a phone. Please tell me they will update us soon. I read somewhere else it said later this year. Is that like fall later or tomorrow later?

Mine worked great with no issues at all. What I didn't like was no option to change text vibration patterns, The new notifications, the new colors, and a bunch of the other little crappy changes that don't make the phone work any better than before
