Text will not wrap around a photo in indesign cs3?

we have tried EVERYTHING. we use adobe indesign for our school newspaper and for the past 3 days we have been trying to get one of the articles (text) to wrap around a photo.
the photo is a simple rectangle shape. for all of the other pages, the text wraps around photos perfectly fine. but for some reason on this one page it will not wrap around any picture at all.
of course "text wrap" is selected for the photo and we also tried going to the text frame options and unchecked ignore text wrap. that still didn't work.
we tried putting it on "detect edges" and that also did not work. ):
please please please if you have any suggestions, add them!!! we really need to fix this issue because this page needs these pictures!

I just encountered the same problem, the text did not wrap around the image whatever i did. I found the solution on my problem, that i had an imagebox underneath the image, which i was not aware of. I discovered it when i deleted first the textframes and the image. After i deleted the second imagebox the text wrapped around the image as i wanted it!

Is there any way to keep a photo/text box where you placed it after it is checked as inline, I have text wrapping around many photos-Pages seem to move the photos to the middle of the page and that will not do for my project.

I have a book I want to sell as an EPUB when done...only one problem I got the message when doing so: " floating objects aren't supported in ePub format" So I found out by checking inline format that will work but it moves the text box and photo to where it want to go and not where I want it to be...this will not work so how do I make it stay where I place it and still save without the error of floating object issues.... In addition, when I let it go where it wants to go it lets me stay as an ePub and takes me to iTunes producer ( I have my books on iTunes made with iBooks Author) and is this right...I want to make it ready as an ePub not for Apple but for other eBook readers... I copied text & paisted it and then draged the 3 photos from the file...then clicked on the photo then clicked the inline boxon tool bar nexed to floating one and that is how I did it
I do not know what you mean "cut & paist" how do I get the photo in from my picter folder if I do not drag it to the page in Pages?
I went to my photo folder and copied a photo and paisted the photo on the top left part of the page and it went there but there was no text to the right of photo...I could crop the photo to what ever size but no text to the right of photo...
This is just too big of a mess of a program as it should be easier then this,,,I hav e 300 photos in this project and would have to re-paist them all...that is nuts...
I see the button to the right of inline and floating that has 6 [lace to have the photo but the text does not float around the photo...
If this is what your talking about this very little freedom in my page layout as I need it to let me place it where I need it to be and the wrap the text...
There has to be an easier way to get my books ready for other formats other that Apple's iPad...iBooks Author was way eisier to make ready for iTunes...Love that program!!!
Want my books for sale on all the other formats and was told by Apple Pages whould do it...

i am trying to create a simple quiz in school. I have one test question which requires the answer to be -1.
I have created Input text and assigned the variable answer for this question.
I have a button with the following AS2 script:

Firstly whatever you type the numerical keys are immobilised on the keyboard when the .SWF file is built
Secondly I cannot enter the correct answer!! If I type in Minus 1 etc it goes to frame 3.
I have tried flags rather than frame numbers - same problem.
i have tried remaking the quiz as a separate file.
using CS4 and CS5 flash - windows 7 PC.
Please help!!

Thanks for the reply. I had instances for all elements but had code on teh but (Instance Enter). I have tried your code with my instance names. The button is Q1 (I was going to add more if it worked). The vaiable name for the Insert text box is ans1 so I used the code below. I added the code to frame 1 in teh timeline. I think this is what you meant so a frame script as opposed to a buton script. i have always scriped buttons (very simple). I have played around with the trace(); function but i am not sure where to run it from. I have added it to the script below. I tried Q1 which is the button and ans1 (variable). It must be wrong as I cannot see any output. Last thing. Is it not right ot use eq and or?? I am using Actionscript 2.
The disabled keys is the same running the code on my mac and pc!

IPod Touch will not sync my newest Photo Albums, or Faces

My iPod Touch will not sync my newest Photo Albums. It will not show the newest photo albums, or any faces in the iTunes however both are seen in iPhoto. HELP!

Lightroom will not let me import photos from either camera or desktop. I can see them in the preview part of Lightroom but when I click import, just says they can't be read. HELP!

Lightroom will not let me import photos from either my camera or my desktop. They show up in the preview bit of Lightroom and I select the ones i want to import, then add my metadata info etc and file handling, but then when I hit IMPORT just keeps saying they can't be read. SO FRUSTRATING.

I believe DdeGannes suggested permission on the Destination folder (not the source folder). Performing a copy requires only Read&Write permission on the destination folder, not the source folder. You need to go into your operating system and change the permissions to Read&Write on the destination folder. (If you don't know how to do that, go to your favorite search engine and type in Change Permissions Mac)

My IPhoto library will not sync all my photo's and videos to my IPhone 4. It comes up well short every time. After syncing, I get a message, "example 1171 photo's could not be synced, please see Itunes for help". I have lots of space/gb on my Iphone, so I'm confused. I've done a factory reset and done all the usual stuff, but to no avail. My Iphone is a 32gb IPhone 4, my IMAC is OS10.6.8 and my IPhoto is IPhoto 08. I appologise in advance if i'm posting in the wrong place, so please no nasty trolls. I just need good, honest, kindly advice and a solution to this. I use my IPhone as a further external backup for my photo's

Go to your Pictures Folder and find the iPhoto Library there. Right (or Control-) Click on the icon and select 'Show Package Contents'. A finder window will open with the Library exposed.
Look there for the iPod Photo Cache.
Trash it. Start iPhoto and try sync again.

Time Machine will not back up external photo drive

Time Machine will not back up external photo drive, slightly different format, one case sensitive the other not. How do I resolve. Bought new external drive same format as TM in the hope that I could copy the files from photo drive but that will not copy all files as it is saying file already there. Again the case sensitive issue...
Paranoid about losing 1Tb of photos all cataloged in LR5
Possible solutions I have looked at but not yet tried.
Use the new 2Tb drive to make a new TM backup then reformat the old 4Tb drive the same as Photo drive.
Then do a complete backup of all files and photodrive to TM.
A lot of work, USB 2, so if any one has a simpler answer I would love to hear.

What message did you get? You should never change permissions (or anything else) on a Time Machine drive -- TM does that for you.

IPhoto9.3.2 on 10.7.4 will not let me delete photos any more

iPhoto9.3.2 on a iMac i7 2.93 GHz with 12GB running MacOS 10.7.4 will not let me delete photos any more, neither delete, comman delete or even emptying the trash works since i updated it a week ago.
anyone else have the same problem or a solution?

Same issue, but it's more involved... I don't use iphoto much, just to store photos, but I first noticed the problem about 2 months ago when trying to delete a photo.   It would not delete, and afterwards iphoto would hang on close, and trying to delete caused a crash entry in the log.    here's some details:
OS X 10.7.4, and 10.7.3. Possibly earlier.
iphoto 9.3.2, and one of the version 8's as well. Recently updated it.

I have repaired, and rebuilt the database. No change.
I have created a new database, imported 1 photo, and tried to delete it. No change.
I have copied the database (duplicated). No change.
I have deleted the iphoto preferences file. No change.
I have removed the application, and reinstalled from my iLife 11. No change.

In addition to not being able to delete a photo, these additional problems exist:
Cannot delete an event.
Cannot move a photo from one event to another.
At this point, I'm fairly sure this is not a database issue. I'm also certain it's not related to the new update.   Anyone got an idea that isn't related to the database?

Transferred CS4 to new MacBook Pro, now some fonts will not work when PDFing documents from InDesign CS4. Help!

I recently purchased a new MacBook Pro. I transferred my CS4 from my older MacBook Pro to my new computer, and although it seemed to be working fine now some fonts will not work when PDFing documents from InDesign CS4. These fonts are installed on my new computer, can be found in InDesign CS4, and work fine within the program but will not appear in PDFs. The letters turn into rectangles. Does anyone know why, and how to fix that?
Help/input would be much appreciated. Thank you!

Photos/graphics insert over text, will not float or move

I'm trying to compose a document in Pages '09. If I use the Insert>Choose command to add either a graphic or a photo, the item is inserted over existing text. Under WRAP, all options are greyed out (Inline, Floating, Background) and Object Causes Wrap moves the graphic out of sight. Is there a fix? Must the photo or graphic be a .tiff or .jpeg only? It seems to me that Pages did not used to be so strict and fixed - although sometimes I have had to go to Keynote to prepare something. I thought Pages was a page layout program!

Question is: is it possible to *not* wrap text in an edit_field, in Windows? (so far all attempts have resulted in wrapped text). I mean, ultimately it would need to not wrap in Mac too, but one step at a time...

You don't have direct control of the line spacing (leading) for a text field created in Acrobat. You can change the font size, but this often means using a larger size than looks good. You can also simply set the background color of the field to white, which will cover up the lines. When no text is in the field the lines are visible so they can be used if the form is printed and filled by hand.

Text Will Not Filter in Report

I'm trying to filter a table object in SSRS by passing only certain values to it. I'm using the IN clause with the SPLIT() function in the filter and for the most part it works okay. However, i'm trying to pass a string which has a "%"
character in it and it will not return. When I run the report without any filtering it shows up. Everything I try regarding escaping the "%" doesn't work - how can I get this to return?
Here's what i'm trying to pass into the filter -
=SPLIT("Tickets Received, Tickets Resolved, % Tickets Resolved by EOW", ",")
The "% Tickets Resolved by EOW" is not showing up, and YES there is data for it using the my test parameters.
How can I do this?

Wow, that's weird. I also just entered all of the comma-separated text wrapped with quotes into the text field without using the SPILT() function and it worked. Like this -
"Tickets Received", "Tickets Resolved", "% Tickets Resolved by EOW"
Frustrating. However it's nice to know that I can do this either way, going to make note of it.

Iphone 4 will not sync all my photos after lion update

I just upgraded to Lion, and my iphone 4 will no longer sync all my photos. Nearly 600 are missing. I recieved the below error message -
Some of your photos, including the photo "AANP.JPG", were not copied to the iPhone "My iPhone" because they cannot be displayed on your iPhone.
All my photos were showing before I upgraded to Lion. All the files in question are a .jpg format
Here is what I have tried/checked-
I made sure all my photos were checked when syncing my iphone to itunes
I restored my iphone to orginal settings (it shows that there should be 1900 photos in itunes, but my phone only downloads 1300 of them)
I have made new albums and folders to get the files to show, but oddly enough my phone will not download them.
I do know about the article that says I need to restore the iPhone photo cache...and maybe I am slow, but I have no idea how to find the cache to clear it. I realize there is a tab in itunes that says photos, but how do I clear the cache from here?? The article is very confusing, and I really need more detailed directions.
The article says - If you need to free up space on your hard drive, or are directed to do so by another article, you can locate and remove the iPod Photo Cache folder(s).

Update - I found the iphoto cache deleted it. This did not work.... it still cannot find the photos. I then placed all the photos on my desktop and synced my phone to the folder. It found ALL the pictures on my desktop folder. I would still prefer to find a fix, so I can sync my photos to iPhoto....

Your interests would be better served if you posted your problem in the iTunes forum. The people there are oriented towards iTunes more than here.
