Textboxes move in random directions

Textboxes move in random directions when I move them with the arrow keys. If I press down and keep it pressing, they sometimes start moving upwards, and then slowly change they "trajectory" towards the expected direction. Other times they ALMOST
take the right direction at first.

In which Office application do you experience the issue? Or the issue occurs in all Office applications?
Please try to launch the specific Office application in safe mode and see if issue persists:

If it works well in safe mode, then issue might be caused by some add-ins.
Also, please install any available Office or Windows updates and then check result.

How do I move a file directly from the desktop to a folder in OX 10?

I am new to Mac and the Mountain Lion software. Having worked exclusively with PC operating systems, I am familiar with how to work with files in Windows, but am having trouble doing similar actions in OX 10. How do I move a file directly from the desktop to a folder in OX? Although this answer is likely in a video tutorioal (somewhere), I do not have the time to sit an arbitrarily watch generic OS videos that give a broad brush overview, without answering specific queries. Any help out there?

JSplitPane - Divider only moves to one direction.

I've got a question concerning a JSplitPane I'm using in my program. I add an objecte to each of my sides. On the left I have a Canvas3d (from Java3d) and on the right a JPanel.
Now my problem is, that the divider only moves to one direction. I've made it oneTouchExpandable and I've set the dividerLocation to 80%.
An earlier posting says, I have to set the minimumSize of my components, but my Canvas3d (inherits from a AWT-Canvas) doesn't have the method Canvas.setMinimumSize(Dimension);
Does anybody see a way out of this? Thanks for any help,

To calibrated the screen. Go to all programs find this file. PC Help &Tools click it and then click on HP Calibrations Utility click yes in next screen. You can also find it this way. In computers program search box type in HP Calibrations Utility and run it.
You may also have a bad malware run your Antivirus software scan as well. See if that detects and deletes any thing. If you have Microsoft Security Essential its scan. If not it is free , It detects and moves malware what antivirus do not pickup on Down Loaded from MSN.com. You also want to check your keyboard and see if some thing is pressing the keys. I know that some times if I have something laying on the keyboard it effects the mouse. You can also troubleshoot the mouse in HP Support Assistant . Open up HP Support Assistant click Troubleshoot then click around the computer Cilck on Keyboard and Mouse and other devices tab. Both mouse and keyboard are listed.

Movie file randomly went missing - cannot play movie

One of my movies just randomly stopped working. when I click to play it, I get the message that says "The movie could not be used because the original file could not be found. Would you like to locate it?" It then gives the option to locate or cancel. this happened AFTER updating to 9.1. Anyone have a solution

We can play a .mov file (a full-length film created in final cut pro) but cannot actually open it in QuickTime. We get the error message saying that a file is missing, and the movie can't play properly without the file. The thing is, we can play the film, we just can't open it to move it to another drive. Help?
Sounds like you created a "Reference" file here. I.e., a "Reference" file is a file that tells the player how to play the data contained in a "Resource" file. When you try to open the "Reference" file in the QT Player app, the first thing the player does is check to see if the "Resource" data file is is still available where it is supposed to be. (I.e., moving/deleting the resource file or moving reference file without moving the resource file to maintain the relative path between the two will generate the error message you mentioned.)
Also, can the lost file (which was deleted) be recovered from a Mac HD or an external hard drive?
That depends. Deleting a file does not actually erase the data immediately. Instead, the operating system just tells the system directory that the space containing the movie data is available for reuse if/when needed. As time passes, the chance that some of the data sectors will be re-written by other data continuously increases. To restore the file normally requires use of a special utility that both locates and restores all of the linked sectors containing the "deleted" movie data in their correct order. Other methods of restoring files would depend on the software you routinely have active on your system. For instance, do you use "TimeMachine?" or orther software that automatically backs up your data periodically? If so, then follow the instructions for your particular application to recover a deleted file.

Stepper motor spinning in random directions

Our set up consists of a PCI-7334 connected to a UMI-7764. One axis is wired to a MCB15081 Bipolar Microstep Driver driving a 200 step Lin Eng. motor.
When trying the 1-D interactive move via MAX, I am sending it a command to perform a relative move 5000 counts. The motor responds by moving some amount (not sure if it is the correct amount yet) in a given direction. If I repeatedly hit the start button, over and over, sometimes the motr moves, clockwise, sometimes counter-clockwise. On occasion it will stutter back and forth without really rotating.
Any thoughts?

I was thinking of the same reason when I read your first posting. If only one winding of the motor is connected properly to the driver it will perform random moves, depending on whether the impact of the activated winding is sufficient to make it move more than 1 full step. Sometimes you can check it by trying to turn the motor shaft manually, it will continue to move in the same direction for a short time and then move randomly again.

Quicktime movies corrupting randomly. "The movie could not be opened."

Has anyone else encountered the Quicktime error where you have a perfectly functional file stored to a disk and then randomly, the file's icon will change from a still image from the movie to just the generic Quicktime file movie clip icon and then if you try and open the file you get the following error message:
The movie could not be opened.
The file is not a movie file.
Nothing was done to the file. Nothing was done to the disk. This can happen when no one is even using the computer. Once it happens, the file will not open or play at all. It just returns this error message. I've only seen this so far happen on ProRes HQ files. Doesn't matter if they are HD or SD. It is infuriating and is costing my facility a ton of money and time and making us seriously reconsider using Quicktime.
The only resource I've been able to find online that seems to be able to deal with this is:

However, because of the nature of the content that I work with I cannot send a clip out of house for repair and cannot pay $89 per file (starting price). I would really like to see a response from someone at Apple as to why this is happening and what fixes are in the works to prevent it.

Moving, brush glitch in illustrator CC (moves to random places)

When I use anything in illustrator CC ( hand, move, pencil, brush) the tool goes to a consistently random point on the far left or off the illustrator field completely

Have you tried to use another mouse/stylus?
Have you tried to update the mouse/stylus driver?
It may also be something on the list (there are two levels of curing corrupt preferences, 3) and 4), the former may not be enough).
The following is a general list of things you may try when the issue is not in a specific file, and when it is not caused by issues with opening a file from external media, see below. You may have tried/done some of them already; 1) and 2) are the easy ones for temporary strangenesses, and 3) and 4) are specifically aimed at possibly corrupt preferences); 5) is a list in itself, and 6) is the last resort.
If possible/applicable, you should save current artwork first, of course.
1) Close down Illy and open again;
2) Restart the computer (you may do that up to at least 5 times);
3) Close down Illy and press Ctrl+Alt+Shift/Cmd+Option+Shift during startup (easy but irreversible);
4) Move the folder (follow the link with that name) with Illy closed (more tedious but also more thorough and reversible);
5) Look through and try out the relevant among the Other options (follow the link with that name, Item 7) is a list of usual suspects among other applications that may disturb and confuse Illy, Item 15) applies to CC, CS6, and maybe CS5);
Even more seriously, you may:
6) Uninstall (ticking the box to delete the preferences), run the Cleaner Tool (if you have CS3/CS4/CS5/CS6/CC), and reinstall.

Loading Movie to Random Frame

I am having trouble with my script(AS3) that loads a random
frame when the movie starts. On frame 1 I have a preloader that
takes you to frame 2. On frame 2, I have an Array that is suppose
to choose from 2 frames randomly to start the movie. Well, it works
fine with 3 frame numbers in my array, but with 2, it always starts
on the the first frame number in the array.

Urgent: iMovie creating movies with random sounds throughout

When exporting my iMovie project - which I put together clips from various documentaries, muted them, and put my voice over in mp3 files... random sounds appear at various points - these are the sounds from one video that I've muted.
The sounds do not even appear during the playing of this video - but others way before it.
None of this shows up in the preview, and I've tried saving it as both as the highest definition - 1080p, as well as the 'tiny' movie (but even this takes 10 minutes to compile).
The stange sounds appear at exactly the same place in both versions... I even changed a few things before the second 'tiny' export, but it was still the same.
The original movie files were high quality, of various formats - mp4, avi, .mov, etc.
The particular file that the audio is coming from is an mp4 file (1920x1080 originally)- it has been muted in the video, and in the Events browser.

I have restarted my computer, iMovie, everything...

There have been numerous posts about audio issues. In almost all cases, the user has used speeds other than the presets. Changing to the presets fixed the problem. It's possibly a bug in iMovie, or a less than stellar design with the slider - maybe a pop-up box would have been better.
If you don't want to mess with your project, then duplicate it (File>Duplicate Project). Then make the changes in the duplicate.

Is there any difference in importing movies to iMovie direct from memory card or first importing the movie to the hard drive?

Is there any difference in method:
1) importing movies directly from memory card (class 10) to iMovie
2) copying the content of the memory card to my hard drive and from there I import it to iMovie
I mean, is there any quality issues? The latter method is really much faster.

No.
The copy of the card is a 'bit-identical clone' - no difference to the 'original'.
Plus a superb method to back-up originals....
I copy all my original recordings first onto some hard-drive - SDcards are much to 'fragile' in my experience....

Can't start movies from AppleTV directly :-(

First thing first: I'm not sure what version of appleTV I own but I purchased it from an apple store about a month ago. That being sayd: When I try to start a movie (from my home share) directly via appleTV it doesn't load. However, when I start movies from my PC it works flawlessly with no problems at all.

Intermittent problems are often a result of interference. Interference can be caused by other networks in the neighbourhood or from household electrical items.
You can download and install iStumbler (NetStumbler for windows users) to help you see which channels are used by neighbouring networks so that you can avoid them, but iStumbler will not see household items.
Refer to your router manual for instructions on changing your wifi channel or adjusting your multicast rate.
There are other types of problems that can affect networks, but this is by far the most common, hence worth mentioning first. Networks that have inherent issues can be seen to work differently with different versions of the same software. You might also try moving the Apple TV away from other electrical equipment.

Dynamic textbox movement

I have a textbox in a JSP file that appears only when a particular value is selected in a listbox. This has been done through Javascript.
Now, when the textbox is added, the whole form moves down.
How to eliminate this movement?

M4V movies working randomly

I've got m4v movies on a brand new 3rd gen 64 gb iPod touch. After the upgrade to the new ios 4.0, I can no longer get to certain chapters within each movie. This is pretty important seeing as how I bought the iPod for one reason and now I can't use it. The reason was to show the bible in American Sign Language to the deaf. I have Matthew through Jude so far with each chapter and verse. Random verses won't play. I'll go to a certain verse and it just freezes. I tried to downgrade to ios 3.1.3 or whatever was on here when I got it from Amazon. I'm not having any success. I've spent a total of at least 10 to 12 hours staring at my computer screen trying to get a fix for this and so far, nothing. Someone please just give me a fix. I already called apple tech support and the tech seemed stuck too. (poor guy) Thanks for reading.

I'm in the exact same situation as you. When I was at OS3.1.3 everything was working perfectly. Now let's say I go ti Matthiew 2:4 and try to skip back to the previous "chapter" (Matthiew 2:4) it does nothing and continue to play then freeze after a fiew seconds.
I sent the iPod to Apple for repare but they stated it works as the specifications, but they didn't ask me how to reproduce the problem. It's impossible to go back to OS3.1.3 so I have no other choice to sell it and buy another new one, or the just released 4th gen, hoping iOS 4 is working properly on this new generation...
