Textedit.app not saving

1. Open textedit.app.
2. paste in text.
3. convert to plain text.
4. hit save to desktop. give filename. hit ok.
5. program pauses for a moment, but not longer than 10 seconds.
6. switch to desktop.
7. file non-existant.
8. repeate steps 1-7. 5 times. same result.
9. change destination location. same result.
10. Open existing document (that I created using these same steps 1 minute prior). Duplicate. Change name. Paste in text. Save.
11. File is where it's expected to be.
I think there is something whacky or a bug going on here.

Click Desktop (or Documents, or any other folder).
Click Save.
Noting is saved, and the document still shows it's Untitled in the title bar.
after pressing save, the doc still shows Untitled, and nothing new is placed on the desktop.

Voice memos app not saving properly

I am using an iphone5 running iOS7.1.1 and performing the following actions will cause Voice Memos app not saving recordings. I have sent a feedback to Apple but is wondering if anyone else is found having similar problems.
1) Run Voice memos app and start recording
2) At lock screen open camera app and take a picture
3) At same lock screen delete the picture taken
4) Lock screen will show RECORDING in progress
5) Open Voice memos app and it will also show RECORDING in progress
6) Save voice memo from app and the duration FROM the point of picture deleted WILL NOT be saved

same here ... iPhone 3gs/32 gigs ram/ios 4.3.1 ...
the app doesn't seem to work any more, and hasn't for some time:
"buttons" are unresponsive, or they appear to respond, but don't perform their function ... erratic behavior ...
very disappointing as this has gone on for some time ...
We appear not to be the only ones ...

Stocks App not saving changes

My stocks app is not saving changes no matter what changes I make. After making a change, I'll exit the app, re-enter and it defaults back to a whole bunch of stuff I didn't add.
Can someone help me with this, I'm not sure where to even start!

Disney junior app, not saving daughters profile and some of the games?

Daughter has Disney game apps downloaded, but since yesterday some of the apps have to be re-installed to use, not saved to ipad like they normally do and her profile is wiped everytime she goes back into the Disney junior app. There is space in storage and i have checked settings and cannot see anything that would stop this.

What do you mean by: "not loading completely"?
Maybe this:
- Reset the iPod, nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Purchase/install any new app
- The remaining items of:
iOS: Troubleshooting applications purchased from the App Store
- Last, restore the iPod

Keynote (and other iWork apps) not saving properly!

Hi all
I have had some strange problems over the last few weeks where I get messages telling me that iWork (usually Numbers) cannot save the files as 'something else' is using the file. So I click 'save anyway' and I get strange files in folders, ie folder and file name is the original name plus some gooblygook.
I have got round this by deleting the 'extras' and carrying on. But now I am preparing a major presentation in Keynote and suddenly it is not saving graphics some of the time!
For example I was working on a slide - and suddenly got a message that 'some problems occured' -
Couldn’t save image. - image.png (Slides: 12, 13, 17, 18; Skipped slide count: 1)

I have been working with this presentation for some time and have never encountered any problems - passing between my laptop and my iPad to review and modify (mainly viewing on the iPad and editing on the MacBook).
Any ideas what is happening? I have a major presentation to give in just over a week and I don't want to use PowerPoint!

I've been having some success NOT using any files that have previous images or audio in them, starting from a base template and then adding audio and video and photos that are already on my hard drive, not previous Keynote files. Today I needed five slides that were part of another deck and, you guessed it, they were corrupted (or missing) when I reopened the file, only the thumbnails remaining.
I closed the original Keynote file, placed a zip extension, then control- clicked to see the contents. The images were missing from the package. I then replaced the extension with .key and reopened in Keynote. The audio file had been there but not the images or the drawing, which I then searched for.
Yes, delete the weird file backups and make a backup of the original in the finder. Then lock it! (You're using Mountain Lion?)
I have a huge presentation tomorrow. I have five backups, including on a thumb drive.

Camara App Not Saving Photos, Video Camara not Recording?

Since The Update to IOS6, I have not been able to Save any pictures from the Factory Camara App. It takes the picture but it does not save them, When i try to use the Video Rec it just doesn't even start recording. Very Frustrating i'm going to try and do a restore right now i guess. ANYONE else having this problem?

Ever since the update, I haven't been able to save images from facebook. The pics I take with my camera are saved, as well as videos, my issue lies in saving images from the web.

Photo app not saving old and new?

So I can load a photo in the photo app built in to iOS 7. As is expected you can view your photos in this app, along with an option to edit. I'm running into an issue where when I edit, then apply and save, the app/phone only appears to generate one copy of the photo, the newly updated version.
If I then load another photo app and access this photo I get the OLD version of the photo however
When I return to the edit option with THAT photo it has an option to "revert to original" which makes me think the one photo has all the info about both versions imbedded in it somehow.
How can I get the EDITED copy of the photo show itself for other apps?

Health app not saving data

when I enter my data on the built in health app it doesn't save let it use to. I would enter my information close it and reopen it and everything will be gone.. Does anyone else have this problem

I'm sorry that I don't have a fix for your issue, but I did want to mention that if you end up in a scenario where you get things working and find that you have data prior to your fix that doesn't automatically get imported in, we have released an app specifically for importing data into HealthKit / Health App. It requires data in a CSV (comma separated value) format currently, but that is the format that most apps provide for their exported files.

When I take a picture it is not saved in photo app

Hello,
I just bought a new IP4 and when I take a picture it is not saved in my camera roll folder (which doesn't exsist by the way).
Same problem for the videos. I can record one but I cannot have a look at it because it is not saved in the PHOTOS app.
Can someone help me out?

TS1702 App:bright wood adventures not saving or updating game play status

Apple OS Version: 6.0 app: brightwood adventures i am highly upset with your game App it is loosing all my progress to these buildings sky tower, saw mill, cobbler, fairy ring, market I purchased gold my funds on my account and this is the 3rd time it has cost my money and the app is not saving my progress

If you haven't overclocked, you really shouldn't.
Do you also get a message that says "NVIDIA Display Driver has crashed" afterwards?
Try a clean install of the latest NVIDIA drivers:
1) Run the NVIDIA graphics driver installer.
2) Choose Custom installation.
3) Check Clean install.
Again, what sort of temperatures are you running at? It's possible that the GPU is starting to fail.

I had somebody work on my OS 10.9.2 to speed it up. He failed and now Preview, Textedit, App Store, Mail and Contacts do not work anymore. I can still use Safari, Firefox and iPhoto etc. How do I get it fix I can still use Safari, Firefox and ed again?

Try these in order testing your system after each to see if it's back to normal:
1. a. Resetting your Mac's PRAM and NVRAM
    b. Intel-based Macs: Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC)
2. Restart the computer in Safe Mode, then restart again, normally. If this doesn't help, then:
     Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the
     COMMAND and R keys until the Utilities menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the
     computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager
     screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
3. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu. Select Restart from the Apple menu.
     Reinstall the 10.9.2 update: OS X Mavericks 10.9.2 Update (Combo).
4. Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion, Mavericks: Reboot from the Recovery HD. Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion, Mavericks from the Utilities menu, and click on the Continue button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.
Reinstall the 10.9.2 update: OS X Mavericks 10.9.2 Update (Combo).

Mail App - New Accounts not saving

Im creating new accounts, but once I close the Mail app they are not saving (I can see the account while I have Mail open, but once I close it they dissapear from both the Mail app mail folders and the Accounts/Settings).

I have verified permissions via Disk Utility, but that hasnt helped.

I have fixed it! All I did was to select "replace all information in iPhone from Maill" and worked.

App updates not saving in itunes?

Running itunes 11.01 using lion on my Imac. I have itunes on an external hard drive if it makes a difference. On itunes, it always says I have apps to update, about 150 of them. I download them and then they reappear next time I reboot my computer. Almost as if its not saving my updates after I download them. They are the same apps too. I sync a couple of my Iphones with icloud but there is also a couple I sync directly with the mac. Does anyone have any ideas on why its not saving my app updates? I don't have any issues syncing my apps with the icloud directly on my phones.

I finally figured out what the issue is.
On iTunes, I found in my list of apps a few apps that I had deleted on my phone but these deletions did not synchronize properly with the computer. Look closely at your list and find the apps that are no longer on the phone but somehow are still on iTunes despite syncing.
It seems iTunes is still looking for updated for these old apps and when any are available they appear as "Available Updates". iTunes is drawing its update query from this list. But then when you click on the updates button, none appear because iTunes also seems to know that these apps are no longer on your phone.
In other words: this is a bug. For whatever reason Apple has not bothered to fix this for months now.
Solution: Go one and by one and delete on iTunes the ones you no longer have. Presto!

My System Prefs, Mail Prefs, App Prefs, etc, are not saving since I have upgraded to Lion? I have repaired permissions, reinstalled, the OS all to no avail!! Please help?

but still having trouble with the mail prefs

You just resync your iPhone with iTunes on your laptop.
If you are logged with the same Apple ID on both devices it should be available to download from your phone:
Open App Store app > Updates > Purchased
