Texting and just being in the HUB uses a lot of power. Help, please!
First let me say that if any BlackBerry rep posts that useless battery saving guide in response to my question, I will flip.
Being in the hub uses 1-1.6 watts of power which is the same amount that facebook or twitter uses, if not more. This should not happen. I've tried to contact via twitter the BlackBerryHelp people but they never got back to me. There is no 1-800 number. I'm asking everyone if this is normal? I have done every single battery tweak I can and this is still happening. I am at my wits end. I can watch the battery percentage tick away while composing an email or a text. I have two batteries. Both experience the same drain. Thank you for your time
I haven't experienced serious battery drain on my Z10 (yet).
I'm not super technical when it comes to the watts of power used by the Hub but if that's where EVERYTHING is being updated, wouldn't it make sense that it would use a higher than average amount of power?

Open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type this exactly as you see it here:

Click Go
Move the com.apple.PrinterPrefs.plist file from the Preferences folder to the Trash.
Restart your Mac, restart the printer... -
Time Machine error -6584 can't run the programme, using new time capsule. Help please!
Bought a new time capsule and it appears to be OK, my Macbook has backed up nicely. Tried to get my imac 27" intel to do the same. Can seee the capsule and can save to the capsule but Time Machine won't run. I just get the error message -6584 .... any ideas anyone?
The problem seems to be common. Time Machine won't start: i.e. "it"... or the "Stars Wars" thing...
The following process eliminated the "error -6584"
Brand new out of the box, 2TB Time Capsule 4th Gen, backed up my iMac 24/4GB/10.7.2 over ethernet with no problems or errors. Time Machine did several incementals over night while I slept. When I returned from work, ready to reimage the OS, I discovered TC hung on an hourly incremental. When I tried to re-establish connection, no dice (error -6584) .
Several attempts to open the volume failed. I could manage all the preferences and configure the Time Capsule. I just couldn't open the back up or start Time Machine (app).
I dropped the %HOSTNAME file from the archive folder in Finder into the Disk Utilities image window to verify and repair, but received "file in use".
Restarting ("reset") the TC oddly resulted in renaming the volume label to "Unamed". I open Airport Utilities and renamed the archive folder to "Data" as before...
Now able to mount (login into) the volume... But it shows "--" in available volume space and no "Oldest" or "Latest" backups are displayed... Not a good sign. Waiting for backup to start..... Looking for backup....
Odd, instead of failing now, it started an incremental. Done!
I am now able to open Time Machine (or that cool Star Wars thingy that takes you off somewhere) and review all the backups starting with the first one I created before I went to bed last night.
The question seems to be what created the problem. I suspect my iMac went to sleep (shut down HDD) in the middle of an incremental. That may have set the "in use" flag on the archive and OS X didn't know how to handle that when I woke the machine up.
I hope this helps, and corrects my problem permanently. -
please help i started my project with video format 720HD, resolution 12x720, rate 25p. at last when i finish and burn to dvd the edges are cut off and my logo cut off the screeen aswell any one help please i am really in trouble. thanks

I did go to their Web site and I see they have a support link. Perhaps you can get help there or in their forum.
If you are OK with a DVD with a basic menu, you could try the Share>DVD option in FCP.

I tried to re-install games as well, restart my macbook but it did not work.I want to add that even before using bootcamp, the same thing happened to the screen.So, I do not think that there is a problem with windows 7.

I have been noticing that when using the computer the mouse keeps going in places where I really do not want and just now select the sentence without I have done anything. Sometimes goes to places like bookmark or open tabs in website when I am reading a page.
Also I have noticed opened windows that I have not opened.
I have verified the sharing folder and also the remote access but it not let me turn it off.
Also I have add a password to my computer and even using the same one it looks like is not working.
The I photo stopped working, Mac Mail does not let me add rules (this is from one day to the other)
The computer is mine, the internet I use is payed by me with a password. I did not give permission to anyone to use my computer or share my files.
In system preferences in the sharing folder is showing everyone and staff.
My computer is private I do not own a company and I do not have a network set up in my house.
I had my photos removed from my computer and even after trying to reinstall I photo and fix the Mac Mail is not working.
I am receiving emails saying that I have sent emails to people that I do not know and including in a time where I am working and not using the computer.
Any suggestions in how to fix this issue?
I really appreciate.With the multitude of issues you have I would take it to an Apple store or AASP and have them sort it out. Then I would sign up for Apple camp or one on one.

I am looking for an application that would allow me to open a word doc, and take notes in the .doc using a stylus pen. I'd then like to convert those notes to text, and then be able to copy / paste those notes into an email. Does this app exist? It seems like we were doing these same types of things with Palm Pilots years ago, one would think this would work with iPads?
I don't believe it will open a Word document, but Writepad allows for handwritten conversion of notes to text and then to email. Might help you some of the way...

Can log into FaceTime it then asks what I want to use as contact so I select email address it says verifying then asks for apple if again and just keeps repeating the process

I got my new phone in Dec and just now had the time to sync it. I was given the option of using as a new iphone or restoring to a previous and I hit restore and now everything i dwn loaded over the last few months is gone along w all sms and photos. What can I do?
Well, unless you made a backup BEFORE you hit the restore button, your data is gone.

Every time i go to a site or and extension of a site i use a lot it asks me if it can you adobe flash I want to know how to make it so it just allows all site to just start it. I only go to mainstream sites so its not a security issue. I have gone into the adobe settings in my control panel and allow sites to store info on my PC so any other suggestions? thank you to anyone who can help.
Have you tried the Reset Safari... in the pull down menu under Safari?

Dear Govind,
You can use BEx based WAD tool to acheive it. Edit the chart in the chart properties dialog, goto settings & edit the property. As you have requested you created 2 tabs, one for chart, another for data, and as and when you do changes in the Analysis grid, the chart values get adjusted.
P.S. Humbly a personal opinion; I do not recommend WAD; use XCELCIUS instead.

What is the extra slot at the top of the white phone? Is it the proximity sensor and just shows thru the white face?
Perhaps I used that screen name 18 months ago before the iPhone 4 came out and just forgot it. It does show my email address in the profile. I kind a like it so I'll keeping using it. What 18 months can do for your mind.

I'm having the same issue. Different programs though, it's mostly browsers and adobe products. I thought maybe it was heat related but it's not. It seems that as soon as Lion was about to be released, the updates were updating in preparation for Lion. I delayed updating the software updates because Adobe (my career) isn't totally compatible with Lion yet. Before I even started getting update notifications, though, within the recent week, it's freezing up constantly. I don't know what to do. It seems to be happening with my brower choice, I'm using Firefox and Chrome as my main browsers. I keep alot of sessions open but that shouldn't cause (and has never caused) this constant freezing issue. I did install some extensions in Chrome and Firefox, maybe that's the problem... The issues began after those were installed though, 3 weeks to a month later... Maybe the software updates (that I installed thinking it would correct the freezing issue), maybe they are preventing other browsers ? Maybe Apple is getting rid of Chrome and Firefox ? I'm not having issues with Safari (yet) though I just opened it for the first time in 2 months... only because the macbook is freezing (and it's also rebooting while asleep, closing all of my projects and not saving them)...
My Macbook Pro is the same year and the HDD is a year new. The manufacture recall had the video whatever replaced a few months ago.
I've never had these kinds of problems with an Apple computer. I'm using Snow Leopard and I'm very attached to this laptop ! It's configured perfectly.

i have problem with my wifi in 4 S, i cant connect to any wifi itried resetting network setting and reset all setting but the result was the same, its only keeps searching for wifi and cant find any, itried to use OTHER but also didnt work.please help me???
If Join was on then your home wi-fi must be set to Non-Broadcast. If you did not set this up (maybe your provider did) then you will need to find the Network Name they used, and any password they used. The SSID is Security Set ID and to see more try http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SSID . Basically it is the name used to identify your router/network. A lot of times the installer will leave it set as LinkSys, or Broadcom or whatever the manufacturer set it as for default. Your best bet is to get whoever installed it to walk you through how they set it up, giving you id's and passwords so you can get in. HOWEVER, if you are not comfortable with this (if you set security wrong, etc.) you would be well ahead of the game to hire a local computer tech (networking) to get this working for you. You can also contact the vendor of your router and get help (if it is still in warranty), or at least get copies of the manuals as pdf files. Sorry I can't give you more help, I hope this gives you an idea where to go from here to find more.
