Texting from my iPad shows my wife as the sender. Need to change identity somehow. May be problem with iCloud recognition.

I've been sending texts via iMessage from my new iPad. It is set up to send from my mobile phone number as the sender. When I send a message (even to myself) it shows my wife as the sender. When sent to myself it shows my picture as the recipient. I've checked under the messages setting and it only shows my data and phone number. However under the setting menu under contact heading the " my info" has my wife's name ( on all our devices including both iPhones, iPad, iMac, etc). Even when I log into iCloud it comes up my name but shows her picture. That is why I'm wondering if the problem is with our iCloud account.  I've checked into it and only my data is included on it. W do share all our contacts via iCloud for all our devices.  I cannot figure out what or how to change it so it shows me as the sender.
Any ideas?

Firstly, you need to change your details with Apple,  Start here, change your country if necessary and go to manage your account. You may have already done this.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")
Providing you are simply updating your existing details and not changing to another account, when you delete your account, all the data that is synced with iCloud will also be deleted from the device (but not from iCloud), but will be synced back to your device when you login again.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your computer, you need to sign out of the account from your computer first, then sign back in using your updated details. (System Preferences > iCloud, click the sign out button)
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iTunes account on your iOS device, you need to sign out from your iOS device first, then sign back in using your updated details. (Settings > iTunes & App store, scroll down and tap your ID)
If you are using iMessages or FaceTime, you will also need to log out and into your ID there too.

    The settings issue would be on your wife's iPhone, assuming the message is being displayed on her phone.

    If you want to use the SMS feature, which allows you to send SMS from your iPad with the iPhone number, for 1st you need to update both devices to iSO 8.1 (as I can see, you have iPad on 7.1.2)
    2nd, both devices must be connected to the same apple ID, and on the same wifi network

    iPads cant send regular texts - only through iMessage meaning that the other device will need to have iMessage too.
    If you can't send a text that means the other person does not have iMessage and iMessage is only installed on iOS devices or OSX Lion

    On your iPhone, go to Settings -> Messages -> Receive At -> Caller ID and make sure the phone number is selected - this will cause new messages sent from your iPhone to appear to come from your iPhone phone number.
    (I actually prefer to have my email selected, so that when I message someone from my iPhone and they reply, it goes to both my iPhone and iPad)
    Also, when you send a message from your iPhone, make sure you're not replying within an existing conversation (that was created on your iPad and linked to your email). Just start a new conversation (even if it's to the same person) by going to the Messages app, going back to "Messages" (top left corner) if you're already looking at a conversation, and then clicking the Compose icon in the top right.

    IF YOU ONLY HAVE WIFI: you can download a texting app (which gives you your own #) and then YES, you can text anyone's cell phone or device as long as they have a phone # as well.
    IF YOU HAVE 3G (INTERNET EVERYWHERE) OR A TEXTING PLAN: YES you can, if you have 3G, then follow the instructions for wifi
    if you have 3g, then you should be able to enter the messaging application on your iPad and send a message to anyone with a valid phone #!

    The email to which you are sending it to may not be correct. You can only send it an Apple ID with that email. For example, I could try to send it to my friend Bob who frequently uses the email bob@sample_email.com but his Apple ID may be bobby@sample_email.com. Maybe that helps?

    It sounds like the iDevices have gotten out of sync with the home network.  I would advise a full power cycle of the circuit involved.
    Unplug the 8600 while powered on
    Unplug the power from the router
    COMPLETELY power off the iDevices, not simply put in sleep mode.  Click here for information about how to do so on an iPhone.  The steps are similar for other iDevices.
    Wait 30-60 seconds
    Plug the router back up and wait for it to completely power back up
    Plug the 8600 back in for power
    Power the iDevices back up and wait for them to sync with the network again
    Try to print again
    Let me know the results.
