Texting on nokia 2730 classic help

Hello,
my nokia 2730 classic when texting only allows me to type in the name of the contact when sending a text, i would like to change this PERMANENTLY to only typing in the number of the person because it is so much easier. Can you please help? Thank You

Problem with Nokia 2730 classic

I have problem with my Nokia 2730 Classic such as:
- Can't open Browser (can only use Web service like Facebook) & the download & messenger application in phone are corrupted.
- I can't use Music Player... every time i open song or video,it's shown that " Not Enough Memory"
- Messaging can't open just got a blank & still Error unless turn off & restart phone.
When i got this issue, i also tried to Restore factory & Restore All in setting function several times,but it just solved the Messaging to work normally & the others still got the problem.
I also try to update firmware from v8.xx (not remember) to V10.40 RM-578 but nothing better..
I really need help as soon as possible.

you need to empty the phones memory delete unwanted items such as images and text also clear up your message folders

The 2730 doesn't seem as 'advanced' as the X6, which I believe you were asking about the other day. If you want to store music or lots of phots on your phone, the X6 wins hands down, having 32GB of storage, where the 2730 can only takre a 2GB card. You can compare the specifications for the phone on your local Nokia website, if you haven't already done that.
Afraid I don't really know first hand about any problems with the 2730 Classic, though there are a few posts on this board which refer to such problems. But, as others here so often caution, people come to this board because they have problems, and many of those problems are as a result of user mistakes, so any comments here need to be put in to perspective. If the specs of the phone look like the sort of thing you want, it would be worth further research on other sites.

I have Nokia 2730 classic with operamini 4.1. I want to install or upgrade it from 4.1 to 5.1. I had downloaded operamini 5.1 but when i install this shows an error "Unable to connect to the internet.Please cheak your settings."But i am surffing internet perfectly from operamini 4.1 which preinstalled on my phone. SO please help me

the problem may b d/t the internet settings provided by the service provider. In India BSNL settings work fine for preinstalled opera mini on s40 phones but not for the one that we download.

Internet problems with Nokia 2730 classic

I recently bought a Nokia 2730 classic (on Orange PAYG). I'm able to browse most websites using the phone's browser. However, when I attempt to access Gmail, I get the following error: Secure connection not available. I get a similar error when trying to set up my email in the 'messages' section. I also get this error when I try to log in to Twitter - the common factor seems to be that they are https pages.
I'm also unable to use the Nokia Ovi store. Whenever I try to download anything, it will reach 35% before saying Download/Install Failed. I'm guessing that the two problems are related.
Does anyone know how I might be able to resolve either of these problems? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

ovi store uses prefered access point wether you set it to be used or not.
Some operator have different access point for different purpose. Eg, prepaid customer have different access point and post paid customer have thier own too. And if you have unlimited data plan your sim may use different access point too.
One of my freind is using same model. When settings are configured mannually, network doesn't allow connection. Preferred access point which operator has sent, was meant for postpaid customer with data plan but my freind is using prepaid sim. So the problem is setting or ovi which is not smart enough to use defualt configuration, it tries to use preferred access point even it is set to 'no'
Better contact SP wether they can sent preferred access point for your need

Even if your phone is listed, unless you see the update available in the OVI_Suite you won't be able to do that. Connect phone to PC..Open OVI Suite --> Tools -->Software Updates and check.. If it shows any availability first back-up your data and then proceed for the update..

hi mate,
you came to the wrong place. unlocking has nothing to do with us, but everything to do with your network carrier. you will need to contact 3 to get your handset unlocked and for the unlock code.

Also is it possible to disable the red light during video recording?
Not sure about the first part, but you cannot disable the lamp it is to let people know they are being recorded I think
4. GPS, i'm on prepaid, is it possible to get free GPS service? if not which prepaid network would be cheapest for using GPS?
Nokia maps is very good, so long as you download the mapping download software first from Ovi.com to load them to the phone. It only costs about £50.00 (not sure) for the voice prompts as well.

            Please solve my three queries regarding 2730 classic as follows:
            1. Its camera is 2.0 mega pixel, but its clarity is not good as 2700 classic or 5233 both of
                them are 2.0 megapixel phones. and its pixel got distorted when zooming but it doesn't
                happen in 2700 classic & 5233. Same problem like this when creating videos.
            2. Youtube videos doesn't stream or play online.
            3. How can i install real player.

1.When you zoom then your screen picture is like bad but after click then you will see the clarity me camera.
2.If you try to play stream of any site,you must required the access point setting for you mobile.In my knowleg, airtel is best for all service of nokia.
3.You cann't download real player for your mobile.

Nokia 3210 Classic Help

Hi, I have a problem.
My nokia 3210 classic screen is broken, I can't see anything on it. My problem is I want to activate my bluetooth so I can transfer files to another mobile. I don't know how to do this so if anyone could give me a step by step on how to do this it would be greatly appreciated.

First of all the phone is 3210c or 3120c ?
The easier way is connect your phone to PC using the USB cable and take a back up using the OVI Suite..
Next, connect the other phone and restore the data...

Nokia 6500 Classic Help Needed!

Helo i have a Nokia 6500 Classic and i want to do a hard reset, it's also called factory settings.
I'm not sure if the code to reset the phone to the factory settings has been edited.
But i have tried 12345 and the phone says the code is wrong.
So anyone who has an idea, or know how to force a reset to the factory settings?

First thing is to make the Basics right... Hard Reset and Factory resets are two totally different things..Your Phone being an S40, you can not perform the Hard Reset.. As for Factory reset.. Go to Menu-->settings -->Restore Factory settings..and the Security code when prompted.. As you have mentioned the default code is 12345 unless changed by you...and if you have forgotten that then the ONLY way to get it reset to the default is thru' Nokia Care. Ownership proof (Bill / Invoice) may be asked if you decide to get it done...

Unwanted purge using IMAP on Nokia 2730 classic

I am facing the same exact problem.
Since DELETE and EXPUNGE/PURGE are both operations a user may request with any IMAP client (Outlook, Thunderbird, etc.), why can't EXPUNGE/PURGE be an operation a user may want to execute explicitly on their Nokia mobile? Or at least AN OPTION users may decide to enable in mailbox settings (something like "Expunge messages on synchronize/exit"=Yes/No (just like any IMAP client does)???

As your phone is not natively supported by iSync, you'd have to contact the authors if the plugins you have tried for assistance. They may be designed for a specific version of iSync, or there may be particular setup instructions you have to follow, or there may be bugs. Only the plugin authors can help with these situations.
