Texting photos

When I bought my Iphone, the camera icon in the message screen was not there. So I called the Apple help line and they got the camera icon to appear. But now when I'm in messaging and want to send a photo. The person who I'm sending to receives a blank screen. And when they text me and send a photo, I get their message but no photo. My friends have no problems sending photos. I've done this lots with my old phone.

How can I text pictures from my iPhone 6 to another kind of smartphone (Android, etc).? I can text photos through iMessage to other iPhone users with no problem. In Settings, my iMessage, Send as SMS and MMS Messaging are all set to `On.'

When you say that it recognizes both phones are you sure you aren't just seeing both backups? iCloud should back up your new phone if you have iCloud Backup turned to On in Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup. But you may still have the old backup stored in your account as well when you check in Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup>Manage Storage on the Backups list. If you no longer need the backup of your old phone, tap it and then tap Delete Backup.

After system restore to back up have lost texts, photos and app data

Speakers not working on iphone all of a sudden and volume switches not working (just the volume comes up but no bars at the bottom). So did system restore and more problems.
After I did this restore (to my backup done today) to my iphone 4s, I now have no text messages on my phone, no photos and no data on my nike running app (6months of records of runs). Have searched through these forums and still stuck.
I think I'm going to have to take my iphone somewhere for the speaker issue, but have no idea where as optus sent it out to me directly via mai l(Adelaide, Australia).
In the meantime, I really want my texts, photos and app data back on my phone.

But no, I still have no sound, so it was all for naught. Its fine if I have headphones in, and fine if its in a dock or connected to bluetooth, the phone also rings and I can hear people on the phone: the only sound that doesnt work is music playing through the speaker, and video. Also when I press the volume up and down buttons, nothing works. I suspect there is something wrong with the docking connection as far as I can see from other peoples questions on here.
But the loss of texts and app data is just the icing on the cake

Mine does it to iPhones not using iOS 6 as well. It also sometimes says that text messages haven't been sent though sometimes they have been. So people get them in duplicate

Setting Lightroom's preview size to larger than screen resolution is guaranteed to slow things down. I have a dual monitor system whith Lightroom showing the loupe on one screen and the grid on the other. The screen sizes are 1920x1080 and 2560x1440. Following your practice for previews would bring my system to a crawl and I have an entry level workstation.All my previews are of standard 1024x768 in size. The only delays in viewing come when Lightroom is asked to display an image where there is no preview. Once the preview has been created, browsing is near instantaneous.
I beg to differ! The reason is that a preview can be used for any size, which is smaller than that of the preview. Scaling down a preview can be done with little or not loss in quality compared to getting the full resulution and scale that down. Scaling up is not possible.
In your case, you will not use the previews of 1024x768 at all for full screen display. Instead you will force L3 to create bigger previews the first time you open the photo. You could try this by generating the standard previews for new imported photos before you start browsing. Then try to browse. You will probably get the "Loading" message, which indicates that the preview was not used and another one with higher resolution will be made. Then try the same experiment, setting the size of the standard preview to 2048. If, and only if, the size of your display area is not more than 2048 pixels wide and you display a photo in lanscape orientation, you will be able to browse without delay after generating the standard previews.
If I understand your setup correctly, you display the photos in a window of 2560x1440 pixels. I suspect that only 1:1 previews could be used for that. I think Adobe should increase the maximum size of the previews to a value larger than 2048, so that you are not forced to use only the 1:1 previews.
I agree, that when the previews have been generated, browsing is near instantaneous.

Suggestions? I need an app that can make a document or lists that include unlimited text, photos, AND drawings?

Just as I said, I need to be able to make some kind of document where I can combine text, photos, and drawings/sketches for ideas/plans. Anyone know of an app or apps that can do that? I can find ones that do text & photos easy, but it's the ability to add sketches/drawings into one document that I really need. I know of one newer app that is new that attempts it, Ideaz, but it has a lot of bugs, you can only type in about 50 characters of text & trying to draw in it doesn't even work. It's awful.

You can't add sketches, only tables & photos plus it doesn't have very good reviews. But thank you for your quick reply.

I really don't think that they have any interest in your data. They most likely plan on wiping the phone in order to sell it.
If they do restore from a backup, they would have to restore in Recovery Mode because it has a passcode on it. But that can't happen anyway because if they synced to a different iTunes library it would not have any of your backups.

It sounds as if you are unable to send using Messages unless the receiving party is also on an iPhone, is that correct?
If that is the case, I would suggest you look at your iPhone's Settings > Messages and see if Send as SMS is turned on. You should also make sure that MMS Messaging is turned on. This allows you to send using either iMessages or cellular data. See this help article -

No texting photos?

Is there the ability to text photos? If so, I can't find it and it's not in the manual either. This seems like 'duh' feature. I don't always want to email - texting is more instant and conversational - and, even w/ the 3G release the percentage of iPhone users will still be in the minority. This is an expensive purchase and ongoing monthly comittment (for me) and I feel like I should at least be able to maintain parity with Razr functionality. I'll save my remarks on the lackluster camera functionality for another post.
(still loving on this phone, don't get me wrong)

This has got to be the most asked question on this forum. NO, there is no MMS on the iphone.
You can e-mail a photo from your iphone to someone's cell phone and they can MMS a pic to your e-mail. Here's how:
Have whomever you choose send you a pic from their cell phone.
In the "To:" field have them input your e-mail address, instead of your phone number, then send the pic.
You will receive the pic in your e-mail.
Save the address that it came from. It will look like this [email protected] ( for verizon example)
You can now send pics from your e-mail to their cell phone using that address.
You do not get charged for an MMS because you are using e-mail.

Can't text photos from camera roll (iPhone 5, new ios)

I go to photos, select a photo, select the button in the bottom left hand corner, select message, type in a contacts name, hit send - AND NOTHING. It's like I'm not hitting send at all. Then it goes back to camera roll.

ohhhh yes, I have been looking for someone with this problem. This has haunted me since iOS 7 and Iphone 5. This carried through to my new iphone 5S. of course all apple tells me to do, is SIMPLE, just erase the phone erase all settings and dont restore from an older version. OH, ok apple that sounds so SIMPLE instead of apple just FIXING the problem ill spend a whole day starting from scratch on my phone back to factory setting and then it STILL doesn't work. Got to love apple!!
This does the same thing when trying to share anything via text message from within other apps like Maps also. BUT! we are on 7.2.2 NOW and guess what! Its still NOT fixed!! YAY apple!!
After I restart my phone it does work for like 3 days and then it stops. I know when it has reverted back to not working because if you notice, when you share within photo album or Maps and you select the persons name to send, it stalls and takes like 5 seconds to load the previous messages from the conversation.. right away I know that I am going to have to CUT and PASTE into the messaging app manually to get it to send. SUCH A PAIN APPLE!!! FIX PLEASE

Attachment feature locks up often preventing attachment of text, photos, etc.

Attachment feature in email locks up in Firefox only. It happens after allowing one or more attachments sometimes and other times it happens on the first attempt to attach a doc, photo, etc. It does not happen with Internet Explorer so I often have to switch to it when attaching items. The size of the attachment doesn't seem to matter. I have used yahoo email for many years and have never had this problem with other browsers. I have the latest version of Firefox and have had this problem with the last 2 or 3 versions.

I can replicate the problem when I use the Attachments button and choose the Skydrive tab. For some reason, Microsoft is setting the width of the typed-in message text to 0, and I guess Firefox is stretching that to allow up to the width of one word.
I can't fix Hotmail, but I can give you a hack that resets the width (and height) to auto. You would run this after attaching the images, by clicking a button on your Bookmarks Toolbar.
(1) Copy the following line of code:

How do I save enclosures - text, photo's - I get in mail on my ipad.

I am a i-pad newby. I try to save text and photo's and text I get send by mail in my i-pad. How? My Mac g5 is too old to use the cloud.
I have uploaded Pages on the i-pad.

For a photo, hold down your finger on the image and click Save Image. It will go to your Camera Roll.
For a document, hold down your finger on the doc and click Open in Pages.

Correcting non-text photos when camera was in text mode?

Hello,
for capturing text the text scene mode for the camera is very handy. However, I did not realize that the Blackberry saves the mode for the next time and does not go back to the automatic scene mode when turned off.
So I now have a whole set of photos from my latest weekend trip to London which were all taken in text mode. To correct them at least a bit, I could use a photo editor to enhance color and so on, but there would be a lot of trial and error involved to fintd the right settings.
Is there anyone out there who knows what the text mode actually changes? Something like "reduces the color saturation by 50% and then enhances contrast by 25%"? With these data I think it would be possible to rescue the photos.
