  • Adobe doesn't want non-English-speaking customers?

I am trying to help my brother who does not speak English but who has made the mistake in thinking that a non-English-speaking customer is just as valuable as any other, but it seems like he was wrong in assuming that. If there still is any support offered to people who do not speak English, it is well hidden, at least. Well, I am registering this attitude and will try to avoid Adobe's products for the future, although they do have a close to monopoly in certain areas, but there are alternatives. Those alternatives won't be of any help to people like my brother, since they are very often only in English as well. Well, this is not a question, only a reflection on the sad state of affairs. It is very sad that a company with so many ressources as Adobe and which charges so much for its applications and services, do not care more for their customers than this.

The Link Adobe Store | Online order and payment FAQ explains the mode of payment.
Unfortunately that can not be altered. The other option for you can be using :
    1. Redemption Code
    2. Key card subscription.
    They are available through resellers.

  • E75 - How to type non-English letter in QWERTY key...

    Hi,
I have a lot of collegues are Finnish people, but I now bought one Hongkong version E75. Do you know how can I type following letters in QWERTY keyboard? Those are availabe from numeric keyboard, BTW.

Extended character sets are only available on phones which contain languages for the regions which use them, so you'd need a phone intended for sale in a European country to be sure if getting these characters.
Nokia does not provide a way for the user to add support for other languages to the phone, but in some countries it can be added by a Nokia service point. This is an extra service outside of the warranty contract between the service point and Nokia, so all points may not offer the service and if they do you should expect to pay for it.

  • How to type non-english in office

hi, i installed office 2011 on my imac but i don't know how to change the language of my keyboard to type in office like word or outlook, etc. pls advice

    thanks Tom
it is not the matter of RTL only. I need two facilities for Arabic or Persian fonts:
    - RTL writing
    - Lettering
in English typing we don't have any attachment between letters (Except the font of "Handwriting") but in Arabic or Persian (Farsi) almost all letters have kind of attachments, otherwise letters will type separate and meaningless like this as follow:
سلام      is correct (=salam means hello)
    س ل ا م  in-correct (meaningless)
because in some programmes or apps like "Notes" i can change writing language on top of screen and use Arabic writing but LTR. even here i can write correctly Arabic or Farsi! or, in "Outlook" which is a part of Office, Arabic writing is available without any problem but not in Word!
however, i could write in other programme and transfer it to Word but it cannot be a terminate solution ofcourse.
however, unfortunately when i open Word, i don't see any Arabic fonts you mentioned! how should i add these fonts to my Office or Word?
i am new Apple user, sorry for asking.
    kind regards

  • Some questions about using non-english characters and keyboard layouts

I've found a lot of guides about how to enable characters in Linux, and that is easy enough, but I want to understand it better.
The way that I understand it, if you don't enable a given set of characters in locale.gen, then in theory you should not be able to either use or display a that set of characters in any programs (however, certain programs, like web-browsers seem to have work arounds).
Furthermore, in order to be able to type characters in X programs, you need to enable those keyboard setups in your xorg.conf (in addition to enabling those locales in locale.gen).  I don't think that this effects the displaying of characters
Then, Last, you need a way to switch back and forth between different keyboard layouts within your X environment in order to type those characters. There are programs to assist in switching keyboard layouts provided by some DE's.  By using these keyboard layout tools, I alter the behaviour of all programs started in X.  (for example, swithing keyboard layouts in gnome's settings will alter the behaviour of kde programs, firefox and openoffice.)
    How close am I?
    A few more questions:
If I'm a Spanish student which locales do I need to enable.  There is a long list of locales that start with ES, and I don't know if there are any drawbacks to enabling unnecessary locales. I think that the ones that I need are es_ES* (Spanish spanish?) and es_MX* (Mexican spanish?).
What is do the *@EURO locales do?
what does the locale setting in rc.conf do?

  • [LR2 - SOLUTION] Using Lightroom in englsih with a non-english keyboard layout

Hi,<br /><br />Many of us, non native english speaking LR users, are using LT in<br />english on a system having a non-US keyboard layout. The conseqeunce of<br />this is that we can't reach a lot of keyboard shortcuts because LR<br />doesn't offer any interface for configuring them.<br /><br />However, there's a workaround. I'll explain here what I did for the<br />french language but you can apply this to your own language.<br /><br />For the non english languages, the keyboard shortcuts are defined in<br />C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop Lightroom<br />2\Resources\<language>\TranslatedStrings.txt. If you are using LR in<br />english, this file is not used and there's no similar file in C:\Program<br />Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 2\Resources\en.<br /><br />But you can create one containing only the shortcuts that you need.<br /><br />I have created  a new TranslatedStrings.txt file containing only the<br />keyboard shortcuts defined for the french version. I did this by copying<br />only the lines containing the following sequences:<br /><br />....Key=...<br />....KeyShifted=...<br />...AgPanel/LeftPanelShortcut...<br />...AgPanel/RightPanelShortcut...<br />...MenuShortcut/DecreaseRating=<br />...MenuShortcut/IncreaseRating=<br /><br />(french users can find this file here:<br />http://www.mainsoft.fr/Files/LR/TranslatedStrings.txt .<br /><br />Copy this file to "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop Lightroom<br />2\Resources\en" and relaunch Lightroom.<br /><br />Now you have the same keyboard shortcuts as when using LR in french.<br />Interestingly enough, if you hit ctrl + < , the LR keyboard shortcut<br />panel is displayed and it shows your new shortcuts.<br /><br />Again, you can do the same for your own language by copying the<br />specified strings from the relevant folder.<br /><br />Hope this helps.<br /><br />-- <br />Patrick Philippot<br />MainSoft Consulting Services<br />www.mainsoft.fr

Yes… I would at a minimum contact Apple sales or AppleCare regarding this. You have two options though. You can ask for a new one, given they can't simply swap out a keybaord you need to exchange the whole thing.
Otherwise, you can use it as a bargaining chip and say ask for a free external International English keyboard and a discount on your next Apple Store purchase… for instance.
Regardless, be polite yet firm with them as you did not get what you ordered.

  • Quicktime MIME types translated in non-english versions

In the continuation of a previous thread, there seems to be a problem with the last quicktime update that translated mime types's names (and using chars like "í" and "á), in non-english versions of quicktime and macosx (in my case, portuguese versions), that might conflict with browsers like firefox, preventing them from opening embed vídeos. For example, i have MIME types with names like "aplicação/x-rstp" and "áudio/x-mp3" which are causing several issues. How can I change them back to english and solve this problem?

ISF/javascript code doesn't work for non-English RequestCenter proile
    Hello,
I am not sure if i posted the same question before also. We have some customers who have set thier language profile in newScale requestcenter to French. However, all the javascript customizations configured on the service forms do not function for 'French' as a Langauge preference. Has anyone encountered the similar issue before and can anyone please suggest a solution for it?
    Thanks,
    Mihir

we had a similar issue a while back where the Approval button was not working in Spanish, needed a fix from nS for it
The way to fix this would be to locate the language XML file, override the French caption with Submit and on onLoad write a global JS that would write the button label again (not so sure about this)
But really its an major defect and they should be able to fix it.

  • How to retrieve non-english characters from a query

    Hello,
My apologies if this post is not in its proper place, but I was a bit confused where to add it.
I'm running a query using SQL Developer on a table which contains several companies names from many different countries, and one of the checks I need to make to ensure data consistency is to search for all rows which the name of company contains special or non-english characters (like ç, ã, ä as example).
I don't know what can I use to do this. I tried to collate using NLS_SORT but it didn't work.
Is there someway to select only the rows that contain these special or non-english characters, excluding from the results the rows that only have english characters? Please have in mind that we have many languages in this table.
The field I would like to make the conditions on is VARCHAR2.
Please let me know if there is any extra information I should provide you so that you can help me.
Thank you in advance for the help.

  • Parsing Non English characters from OPEN DATASET

    Hi Team,
I'm try to download the .txt file using the OPEN DATASET in the windows environment from application server, system language is set up for English.
The problem is, in the .txt file some times I will be getting the non-English characters (Spanish). When I try to download the data into SAP it's not downloading properly eg: ñ when it downloaded into sap it took something like A+_.
My goal is I need to download the Spanish characters properly into sap.
Please advice how to solve this problem.
    Thanks,
    Selvaraj

    Hi Selvaraj!
I haven't checked the situation for 4.5B, nor can I predict exact behavior, but you can give following statement a try:
    SET LOCALE LANGUAGE lg.
This should even change content of sy-lange for whole role area (internal session), so change the value back afterwards.

  • Removing non-English characters from data.

Ours is global system with some data with non-English characters. We want to download file by removing this non-English characters.
Any suggestions how we can remove these non-English characters from file..?

    The FM u said
Replace non-standard characters with standard characters
       Functionality
SCP_REPLACE_STRANGE_CHARS processes a text so that it only contains
simple characters. Special characters and national characters are
replaced in such a way that the text remains reasonably legible.
The character set 1146 is used by default. In this case the following
         replacements are made, for example:
          Æ ==> AE        (AE)
          Â ==> A         (Acircumflex)
          Ä ==> Ae        (Adieresis)
          £ ==> L         (sterling)
Note that the new text can be longer than the old.
So i dont think it ll be useful for eliminating the sp. chars.
U have to check each and every alphabet with std 26 alphabets
    Thanks & Regards

  • Removing non english characters from my string input source

    Guys,
I have problem where I need to remove all non english (Latin) characters from a string, what should be the right API to do this?
One I'm using right now is:
s.replaceAll("[^\\x00-\\x7F]", "");//s is a string having chinese characters.
I'm looking for a standard Solution for such problems, where we deal with multiple lingual characters.
    TIA

    Nitin_tiwari wrote:
I have a string which has Chinese as well as Japanese characters, and I only want to remove only Chinese characters.
What's the best way to go about it?Oh, I see!
Well, the problem here is that Strings don't have any information on the language. What you can get out of a String (provided you have the necessary data from the Unicode standard) is the script that is used.
A script can be used for multiple languages (for example English and German use mostly the same script, even if there are a few characters that are only used in German).
A language can use multiple scripts (for example Japanese uses Kanji, Hiragana and Katakana).
And if I remember correctly, then Japanese and Chinese texts share some characters on the Unicode plane (I might be wrong, 'though, since I speak/write neither of those languages).
These two facts make these kinds of detections hard to do. In some cases they are easy (separating latin-script texts from anything else) in others it may be much tougher or even impossible (Chinese/Japanese).
