Texts going to wrong people

Does Verizon ever act on these blog messages? I called Verizon yesterday to report that my texts are going to the wrong people. They said that had never happened and referred me to tech support who could not figure it out. No solution provided. I use texts for personal and business. This is an extreme compromise with privacy laws and personal privacy as well. What can be done?

A rep may reply but for real tech support you are better off going through Verizon directly. Have you tried doing an Internet search on your issue to see if others are experiencing it and have any solutions? It is an odd thing so I'm not aware of it being a normal bug with Verizon in general. You may have a hardware issue with your phone where it's not recognizing the correct numbers you are texting. Does this occur if you manually input the phone number you're texting versus texting a number in your address book? Have you gone through your contacts and made sure the numbers are still correct in there? If someone texts you first and you reply do they receive the reply or is it still going to the wrong number?

I have been experiencing this issue for the last few weeks and it is extremely annoying. I've called Verizon 7 times and have gotten nothing but the run around. What's even more annoying is hearing them say there will be a software coming out to correct the problem but they don't know when. I'm very disappointed in Verizon. I've been with them for many years. They were my first and only carrier. I will definitely not be taking this lying down. I'm going to get a resolution, and if that means leaving Verizon, then so be it. And if anyone from Verizon is reading this, PLEASE DO NOT offer up another apology. I don't want another apology, I want this issue to be corrected, NOW!!

Droid Bionic text messages going to wrong people

I have had my Droid Bionic for several months now. It is not rooted and I don't download tons of apps on my phone. I don't use netflix to watch movies or download music. The apps I have are mainly to help me with work. So I'm not app happy just downloading things non stop. This is why I'm confused and irritated. My Bionic has started sending text messages to the wrong people! I had this issue with my Droid X which is why I switched to the Bionic, hoping that after all these years of making smart phones motorola, google and verizon would put a phone out there that actually works like it's supposed to. How much practice do these phone companies need to get their OS right? I don't mind paying a lot of money for something that will make my life a little easier but I get very irritated paying a lot of money for something that doesn't work the way it's supposed to...and at the most inappropriate times. The Bionic has gone from helping to adding to my daily hassles. Is anyone else having issues with text messages going to the wrong people on their Bionics? Have you found a way to fix it? I'm also getting error messages that just started about a week ago...com.motorola.main.service has stopped and then a option to forceclose. The tech support person at Verizon sounded like he had never seen a smart phone before and gave me the Verizon standard technical reply..."do a factory reset". I should not have to reset anything on a NEW Phone! Why don't you fix these problems Google, Motorola and Verizon and in a timely manner?! I know for a fact if I didn't pay for my phone as promised or pay my bill as promised I would suffer the consequences immediately! You cell phone companies are all about getting your money and leaving us customers out here hanging and irritated. If you think my feelings are misguided then feel free to prove me wrong. Go into your settings, Messages and turn on iMessage. It will then send messages that are iMessages to both your iPad and iPhone. You can also turn off this feature on the iPad if you do not want to receive messages on the iPad.

Texts going to wrong phone

My son and I both have iPhones on my AT&T account. I also have an iPhone for work. (Yes, we're slightly addicted in this house). When my son sends texts to certain people, they show up (as well as the replies) on both of my phones. The same thing happens when one friend of mine texts me - he receives our entire conversations on his phone. Strangely, this doesn't happen with all our contacts - just a few.
Then last night, I upgraded to the new OS and now he's getting NONE of the texts I send to him.
Any ideas?

I had the same problem, my husband was getting all my messages, I went to:
General Settings
Then down to Messages(green)
Then checked "Send & Receive" option, it shows you how many addresses/phones "you can be reached by iMessage"
Choose your phone and your email only. Your son will have to do the same in his phone.

Another iphone 5 received text messages meant for my phone and one other but only happened for the first time at the weekend when in close proximity. How do I stop this happening? Didn't happen with all texts just from one source.

I had the same problem, after upgrading to IOS 8.x
Look under Settings > iCloud and see if have "Set Up Family Sharing . . ." turned on.
I did, thinking it was for sing iCloud backups. Instead, my texts got shared.
Not all the texts and not all the time, but often enough to become a nuisance.
I turned off Family Sharing and I also noticed that I had multiple phone numbers and email address assocatiated with my account.
This is because I pay for all the apps on several phones in the family.
I had to remove all those extra phone numbers and emails that were not associated with each phone.
Unfortunately, the problem continues, although not as often.

This shouldn't be so hard to understand or fix, but that upgrade was the most confusing I have ever gone through.

Texts going to wrong phone in account

We have 5 iPhones in our family account. Recently, person 1 will send a text to person 2, but the message will show up on person 3's phone. Oddly, person 3's text display show the message as if person 3 sent it! The messages often go to several of the phones, so it's impossible to tell (without asking) who actually sent the message. Any ideas?

I am having the same issue. My wife & I both have iphone 4. We both use the same iTunes Apple ID. After we both updated to IOS 5.1, iMessage conversations that she has started showing up on my phone. They don't arrive with an alert like a new message, they just show up. Also, iMessages that I get from her appear as if they came from me, which gets confusing. I think this has something to do with the new "feature" that your iMessage conversations appear across devices, like if you have an iPhone and an iPad. I already checked, and my phone is set to receive iMessages from my number and my email. Her phone is set to receive iMessages from her number and her email.

I am sending text messages to some people who think they come from my husband. Also evertime I send a text to my husband, a copy is sent to me too.

I am sending text messages to some people who think they come from my husband. They have both my name & number and my husbands name and number in their contacts. Also everytime I send a text to my husband, a copy is sent to me too. I do however receive text message from people to my phone and it seems to work fine if they do not have my husbands info.

You don't necessarily need separate AppleIDs, but you need to set the Send and Receive for Messages to different addresses (Settings App > Messages).

If i understand what you are saying then you are seeing the WiFi indicator after connecting but Apps are saying that they are not connected to the internet?
Your router may not have given your iPod a valid IP address. Go to Settings > Wifi > your network name and touch the ">" to the right to see the network details. If the IP address starts with 169 or is blank then your router didn't provide an IP address and you won't be able to access the Internet.
Sometimes the fix can be to restart your router (remove power for 30 seconds and restart). Next, reset network settings on your iPod (Settings > General > Reset > Reset network settings) and then attempt to connect. In other cases it might be necessary to update the router's firmware with the latest from the manufacturer's support web pages.
If you need more help please give more details on your network, i.e., your router make, model and version, the wifi security being used (WEP, WPA, WPA2), etc.

InDesign Help - eps file text going transparent.

I am building a business card for a client and they provided me with an .eps logo. In the logo there is a white script font along the bottom of it with their saying. I place this into inDesign and everything looks fine until i .pdf the file and the text goes transparent so only the drop shadows on the letters are visible.
- I have tried going into the eps and the text is already converted to curves so it can't be a font problem.
- I changed the color of the text from white to 1% black thinking maybe the eps was dropping the color but i get the same results, even when i changed it to a hot pink as a test (same problem just a transparent pink).
- I tried saving the file as an .ai file and bringing it in and I get the same problem.
All of us in the art room have never seen this from the new CS3 lineup before and we are stumped. If you can come up with any suggestions on how to solve this it would be appreciated, The client needs their cards soon and I can't give them this without that line of script.

The white is set to overprint. Open it in Illustrator and fix it. While
you're at it resave it as a AI or PDF.

Why is the text going over the image when the text layer is below the image layer?? It is so frustrating.

Are you sending the texts to his phone number or his Apple ID? It might be that the texts originated from your phone is to his Apple ID and not his phone number and his Apple ID was not registered for the Message app on his phone. So any texts to his Apple ID is not received by his phone.
Can you receive his texts? If yes, then reply back from what he send you and see if he can receive the texts.

Site previews fine in Firefox locally, but when I published the site all the text is the wrong size

I am a rookie web designer. I recently created a site using CS6. http://www.joshuahetzler.com When I previewed the site in Dreamweaver it looked good in Firefox and IE. I published the site and now it is messed up in Firefox. All the text is the wrong size. Does anyone know how to fix this? Does it have something to do with my hosting provider? (I deleted a wordpress site from the directory an hourago and put this new site in its place) Why does IE display properly, but not Firefox...

Caused by a bad link to your site's CSS file. This is pointing to a file on your local hard drive which nobody but you can see.

Open your template and reconcile the path to your site folder. It should probably look like this:

Text goes fuzzy when picture is placed in graphics frame

I have been using InDesign for over a year and love the software. One thing continues to drive me mad and I dont know whats going on.
Basically when I add a picture into a layout, often (but not always) the text goes fuzzy similar to anti-aliasing being turned off (its not). It just did it again this morning. I have laid out a drop dead simple business card, text is crisp. I add a graphics frame and everythings still OK. I place my PSD file into the frame and bang the text goes fuzzy. If I select and delete the graphics frame the text sharpens up again.
I have had many situations where it does the same thing but also times when it doesnt. I can see no obvious link between what I am (or am not) doing and why this happens. I also considered that this was just a display issue and it would be fine when sent to a PDF but the quality of the text in a PDF is noticable less with the graphic than without it even at "press" quality.
All help and suggestions appreciated.

Check the pages panel and see if there is a Chequerboard beside the page. This indicates transparency in the PSD.
Does your psd have a transparent background?
Try opening the psd and save it as a tiff.
Select your image in photoshop and create a path. Change the path to a clipping path.
Save it as a tiff.
Place the tiff.
Go to Object>Clipping Path Options
Choose the path you created in photoshop.
Is the text still fuzzy? Just need to check that it is actually the PSD that is causing it, and making it a flat tiff with a clipping path will clear that up if it is.
You only need to have the background transparent if you're placing the image on a colour other than white, usually. So if the image doesn't need transparency in it or a transparency background the leave it flattened with a white background, but retain a clipping path if you ever need it.
Usually PSD files are fine to place and to use in InDesign.
