Texts issue

Hi,
I've had my curve for over a year and a few months ago I started having issues with text messages. They work just fine until I try texting a new contact for the first time, in that case, the text appears as sent but the recipient never receives it. It happens everytime I add a new contact to my phone and then try texting them. If they're a new contact but they text me first then it's fine and everything works. It's driving me crazy, because I recently had to confirm via text some job appointments and wasn't able to. I know it sounds really stupid, I've checked all the SMS settings, and the provider's data (vodafone italy) is correct but it still doesn't work. Any idea on how I could fix this? Thanks!

Hope u adding (0) or the country code before sending the text to a particular number.
Once you recieve a text/call then by default you have a prefix (0) or the country code in that number, which is when used by you to text them back makes you do so.
Kindly check for the prefix.

D11 Unicode Text Issues

There appear to be several text issues in D11 on Mac OSX
10.4.11 and 10.5.2.
First problem being that setting the style of text to bold or
italic doesn't show any change. This occurs in both Shockwave and
D11 projectors.
Second using Chines Unicode font Song the text in fields
sometimes disappears. Its still there since calculations based on
the content of those fields still works but no text is visible
onscreen.
This font also has the problem where the text will not change
to bold.
Anyone else seenig anything like this or have a solution?

IF we are now limited to setting only font styles that are
specifically defined in the font we're in real trouble.
This is NOT the way it worked in all previous version of
Director that I've used (7, 8, 8.5 MX, MX 2004).
The project I'm converting to D11 deals with font styles as I
would expect in MX 2004 on the very same machine with the same
fonts that D11 refuses to make bold.

8350i texting issue (telus) please help!

I'm really getting tired of hearing about a fix in the works for the texting issue of the 8350i on the telus network. i still can't send a text or determine the sender of a text. its been a couple of months with this otherwise great phone, but I'm getting close to throwing it in the garbage. has anyone actually heard or know of a specific date when this texting issue may be resolved? I still can't believe that telus and or rim can't solve this issue, do they not understand that there are contractors out there that use the mike and need a smartphone? maybe if they actually made one that worked well they would be surprised at the overwhelming sales of such a device.

it has not been resolved .. Telus told me RIM had solved it with a 5.0.?.? ver of OS but it was pulled because it was messing other stuff up.. I don't know that this is true, this is what Telus told me.. I called RIM and they couldn't release anyinfo on the issue to me and directed me to the press release area of the site where I found SFA. I have the latest software 4.6.1.294 on my 8350i and it isn't that old maybe a year if that. There is no way I am spending 600 bucks so I can text ... there must be a fix .... someone please help

IPhone 4S on AT&T - texting issues

I'm one of those guys that is having texting problems with the iPhone 4S. I can't send or receive anything. It seems that most people have problems because of the new cap on texting data. However, mine does not say it is full or anything like that. Also, when I send texts, they seem to go but no one actually receives them. I cannot send group or mms messages. I have restored from a back up and as a new phone. Neither has worked. I've also reset my network settings and done multiple hard resets. I don't know what else to do. The only thing that is working is iMessage. It's getting kind of annoying that I can't send or receive and texts so if there aren't any new suggestions I guess I'll take my phone back to AT&T to see if they can help. Thanks in advance.

My wife is having the same issue, *exactly* as you describe it, with her iPhone 4s on AT&T. It's ridiculous, and so far AT&T tech support is totally unhelpful.

Mac OS X 10.4.11 Text issue seems to be unresolved for many...

My web-pages and menus (outside of offline) continue to display diacritics (non-english letters with accents)! They're added into words, grammatical punctuation is substituted for these letters. Sometimes I suffer from text overlapping it's frames, divs, text-areas etc. I don't know what the issue is. Websites suggest to find duplicates and resolve them in my font book, but that doesn't PERMANENTLY solve the issue, nor does it resolve the text coming out of it's frames. I would REALLY like someone to give me REAL advice; Preferably, but not limited to someone who's experienced this issue and has resolved the problem permanently.

Download Font Nuke. Close all other applications you may have running.
Run Font Nuke and click on the "Nuke Font Caches" button at the upper left. The panel will fill with other choices. At the lower right, first click "Update Caches List". It will search your hard drive for font cache files and list them. The purpose being simply so you can see what is about to be removed. Click the "Nuke Font Caches" button at the bottom right. Your Mac will restart. Don't attempt to stop the restart. You should always restart immediately after removing any cache files.
Most of the time, this is all that's needed to correct font issues in OS X. If not you may be missing fonts the web site needs to display properly. Read my article, Font Management in Mac OS X Tiger and Panther. It explains the minimum fonts you should have active on your Mac at all times. For web pages in particular, the following fonts get used a lot.

Arial Black
Comic Sans MS
Tahoma
Trebuchet MS
Verdana

Director 12 on iPad text issues

When publishing a from Director 12 to iPad has anyone had any particular text rendering issues? I have been using Trebuchet MS which is an ios supported font (i get the same problems with other fonts however).
The particular problems i have is that superscript text, using the #superscript font style are not appearing at the correct height at the top of the text, instead it sits at the bottom of the line. Also, any text i colour with a faint colour (#00B8FF, a bright light blue in my example) appears with what seems a faint black line stroke or shadow around it like it hasn't be anti-aliased? The darker colour i choose the better it seems to render.
I would be very interested if anyone has encountered similar problems, and if they have managed to fix it in any way, even through a workaround? It seems a strange problem that should be fixable.

Text issue with Chinese Windows XP

When installing a distribution made with the english version of CVI 2010 on a PC with Windows XP in Chinese I have an issue with some caracters like µA or ° (see below)
What could be the reason of this behavior and could I solve it?.

Text issues...

HI all, sorry if this has been asked here before:
I while back I upgraded my Safari to a newer version. I am now running on 2.0.2 and somewhere along the way I noticed that certain foreign scripts were not showing up correctly in my browser. The main one I noticed, since I use it a lot, is Arabic. The letters appear, but are all disjointed. It quite annoying since I have to use Arabic often.
I tried playing with the "Text Encoding" options under the View menu. I tried Unicode and both the Arabic versions. Unicode jjust gave me ?'s and the Arabic texts gave me the same disjointed letter issues.
Anybody have any other ideas about how to fix this, or has Safari just lost some of its language ability? Arabic script works fine in all other applications on MacOS X Tiger. I can even input Arabic text into Safari windows fine, but when I view websites it just messes up.

Text issue in the delivery

Hi Experts,
I have issue with the text, actually at the SO header we maintain text,but It is carried to the Item delivery, which should not happen,
Please can you guide me how we get the header text to Item text, what would be causes, how should I rectify that,
how to check if the delivery Item text config was changed.

Trackpad and text issue

The text for some reason choses not to open when I receive messages.
and the track pad seems to have a mind of its own going up and down when I dont even touch it.

Is the "Wake Lock" app a good workaround for the Missed Calls/Texts issue?

Back on Jun 18, at the beginning of the "Any One Having Missed Call Problem after ED04 ..." thread, wardcst24 posted that the Wake Lock app seemed to fix the issue of missing calls and that all calls now were received A-OK (not sure about texts).
I think the train of thought is that after the Froyo / ED01 / ED04 updates, when the phone is in sleep mode it doesn't recognize some incoming calls and texts, but that this app keeps the CPU active enough to detect them when received. There's probably a (minimal?) hit to memory / battery life / processing speed, but certainly acceptable vs missing calls.
Has anyone had any luck with this or a similar app? I can't test it since I'm still on 2.1 (never got around to upgrading to Froyo, sometimes it pays to be lazy . . . )..

It did work but when you would get a call wake lock would crash and if you didn't remember to reset it you would start missing calls again.
It would consume 3% per hour
I could not deal with having to remember to reset all the time so I sent my phone back to Samsung for the 5th time.
There is another one that is said to work very well it is sofLocker

IPhone and Blackberry: Pic text issue?

I'm trying to get pic text to me FROM a blackberry with no luck...but the Blackberry can get my pic texts? What gives??

External text issue

I have tried to look up this issue in the flash help,
lynda.com and here with no luck.
I have an issue with external text that I import. The text
loads fine but when I click to go to another frame in the same
timeline the previous text stays and the new text renders over the
previous text. How do I delete the previous text file when I click
to go to another section.

if you only change your urlrequest and keep the same
textfield, loader and listener you should have no problem.
otherwise, you're apt to have problems unless you properly account
for those objects you're not re-using.
p.s. unless you embedFonts, you're users are not likely to
see that font.

Texting Issue

First of all, I'm sorry if this is not in the correct category. I wasn't sure where it belonged.
I'm having a small issue with texting on my Palm Treo 750. When i try to reply to a text, i get a message that reads "Error Invalid Number. Please resend using a valid 10 digit mobile number or valid short code."
To reply I must start a new text message, go through my contacts and find the person i want to reply to. As you can imagine, this is really time consuming when trying to text on the go. Any advice you may have is appreciated....thanks!
