Texts still sending as iMessage to Android device

Here is my rant/how do I fix.
This garbage wanna be waste of time iMessage keeps telling me I'm using iMessage to send my dad's android messages.
He just got rid of his iPhone 4S since he thought it sucked. I've tried deleting his number, deleting complete contact. Turning iMessage off won't even allow me to send him a text. It's not iOS6 but since iOS5 did this to me too. I'm tired off this non sense Apple is doing to try and compete with Android since Android is all high-tech. I may have to jump off the Apple band wagon, I've been touching squares on my iPhone since the first iPhone. But will I go to any other phone? Android and others are ugly and have ugly an OS. I'm going to a Jitter Bug phone. lol no, but god I'm tired of this stupid garbage non-sense but yet I'm still waiting for the iPhone 5 to drop so I can go get that piece of sh*t and complain about that having problems. HOW DO YOU FIX THIS IMESSAGE GARBAGE?! My dad doesnt know how to delete his iphone from apple or whatever or have access to another iphone since hes on sprint now with android.
If you like pop tarts im afraid of turtles and I eat toasters. ****.
AND NOW I CANT SELECT iOS6 for the operating system down below?!?!!? OMG IM GOING TO SMASH MY IPHONE AND PROBABLY END UP BUYING A 4S AND WASTE 400$ THEN ANOTHER 500$ TO CANCEL THE CONTRACT AND GET THE IPHONE 5. WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME.

Apple had me do that and I've logged in and removed my iPhone from my Apple ID and the issue persists. Don't know if I'm an anomoly, but this still didn't help.
After being shut down by the phone apple support I just made an appointment at a local apple store and they've been much more helpful face-to-face. Because of some issues logging into my verizon account we haven't completed this procedure yet, but this is what my apple store rep thinks will work: They've offered to use a refurb iphone they have lying around and turn service on to that (& my android off) then go into settings and turn off iMessage. Then they'll turn my android back on and they think I'll be good to go. One concern apple initially had was that I would burn my SIM card by turning on the iPhone, I've talked to verizon and they said this won't happen as the new format of SIM allows you to switch from SIM to non-SIM and back to SIM again without issue. Haven't tested this yet though. Appointment with the apple store tomorrow, hopefully it will end the headaches.
FWIW I did ask my local verizon store if they would be kind enough to do this procedure for me (since they shut down the iPhone in the first place) and they not only declined, but also told me there was no way that I could possibly be having the problem I was describing...even after showing screenshot's from the iphones trying to send me messages.

I change phones and i am not getting regular txt messages because somehow the messages are still sending through imessage which i no longer have.... I deleted my phone number from the account though as per instructiions from the phone carrier and is still not working...Any help?

    Hello jn_andrade,
It sounds like you are no longer getting text messages becuase your Apple ID is still using your phone number for iMessage. I would use these steps to unlink your phone number from your account:
    Unlink a phone number
To remove a phone number from an Apple ID, sign out of FaceTime and Messages on your iPhone:
Settings > Messages > Send & Receive. Tap your Apple ID, then tap Sign Out.
Settings > FaceTime. Tap your Apple ID, then tap Sign Out.
This should remove your phone number from other devices using the same Apple ID with FaceTime and Messages. If the phone number is still available on other devices after you sign out of FaceTime and iMessage on the iPhone, you may need to sign out of iMessage and FaceTime on all your devices, then sign in to FaceTime and Messages again on devices you want to use.
Note: If you no longer have access to the iPhone that is using the number you want to remove, reset your Apple ID password.
From: iOS and OS X: Link your phone number and Apple ID for use with FaceTime and iMessage

  • My icloud has stopped sending my imessages to my devices.  how do i fix this?

    hello everyone,
my iCloud has stopped sending my iMessages to my devices.  How can I fix this?

I don't know how much help this will be, but this is Apple's troubleshooting FaceTime support website.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3367
The one thing in the article that you might want to check first is that the date and time are correct in Settings>General>Date and Time>Set Automatically>On.
The next thing that I would try is, turn off FaceTime in the settings, reboot your iPad and then turn FaceTime on again.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

  • Bold text formatting doesn't work on Android device

I've encountered AIR issue with text formatting.  Bold formatting doesn't work on android device.
I've opened item in adobe bug system https://bugbase.adobe.com/index.cfm?event=bug&id=3638337 which describe the issue.
Currently I haven't received any helpful feedback from adobe bug system.
That's why I've desided to ask for support here.
Does somebody know some workaround for that issue?

    Hello Chris,
I was wondering if you can remind Adobe dev team about this issue.
AIR 4 is released already and it doesn't have the issue fixed.
This issue becomes painful for us because we can't update to new AIR versions.
Currently we stuck with AIR 3.6. AIR 3.6 has bugs on new Android operational systems.
But we can't migrate to new AIR4 because bold formatting used heavily by our application doesn't work.
    Thank you,
    Ostap

  • Why don't the messages I send in iMessage synchronize across devices?

I've tried to find something about this for a while, but everything seems to be about incoming messages. Why do my outgoing messages not show up across all my devices? I see all my incoming messages without any issues.

    Hi,
That may depend on what Send And Receive IDs on other devices are actually Active and which ID you are actually Sending from.
    For instance
The iPhone can have a situation where the Send and Receive List should be two item but the iPhone Number itself is actually greyed out but UNticked.
It is supposed to be unchangeable by the user (Greyed out) but it is supposed to be active.
This will mean the iPhone will not get iMessages sent to it's iPhone Number.
It Should get the Apple ID sync versions which should include copies of iMessages you have sent from other devices - however it does then depend if the iPhone Number has been inactive long enough to be de-registered.
If this has happened delete the Apple ID from the Messages setting on the iPhone.
then place the iPhone in Airplane Mode for a couple of Minutes (to break with server)
When going Back to the Settings > Messages make sure the iPhone Number verifies before adding the Apple ID.
Once you have added the Apple ID accept the pop ups as they Appear on the Mac so that the iPhone Number is in that version's Send and Receive spots.

  • Still sending as iMessage!

I believe it is a flaw with iOS 7.1.... I have always had an iphone, and have all other apple products... I have a samsung galaxy that I use for school that works better with all of our software... So far I have had apple completely unregister my phone number from the imessage server, I have signed out of all of my devices, I have changed my apple ID password, the list keeps going...... The worst part is that with this new software, It will show delivered before it is actually received on the other end...... I really need some help in resolving this issue, I am running out of options!

    Hi Anpe83,
    TL;DR: The answer: Currently, no.
As we speak, there is RMS Sharing app for all mobile platforms you mentioned. RMS Sharing App lets you open any file type that is a .pfile (generic file created by RMS Sharing App on your PC). But this is not a granular protection and policy enforcement
    - you can think about this way of protecting as a .zip file that has been password protected. So once you "unzip" the pfile with RMS Sharing App - you can do whatever you want (open in a native mobile app, forward, edit, copy, delete, etc) with that file.
Now, RMS Sharing App lets you protect pictures only on your mobile devices which I assume you will not be a feature used very often.
On the other hand Microsoft has published Office suite (Word, Excel, etc) for iOS devices (iPhone and iPad).
Currently (this is the key word here) those are NOT RMS enlighted yet, so f.e. no word document that is RMS protected can be opened with your Office suite for iOs. I also know that Microsoft is preparing an update for iOS devices in the nereast
future to make Office suites (including OWA app) RMS-aware.
PS. For the current time being there are some third parties that extend RMS capabilities to your mobile device platforms. You can also wait few months (unfortunately cannot promise that) for RMS enlighted Microsoft apps for iOS devices.
PS2. If you haven't heard you can also set RMS Sharing App to work withi your ADRMS which is onprem (not only with RMS in the cloud). For those you need some cool toys: Windows 2012 R2, ADFS 3.0 and RMS Mobile Device Extension.
    Hope this answers your question.

  • Iphone 5 stopped receiving SMS but can still send

    My iphone 5
is only 3 weeks old and was working perfectly right up until one week agao.  It stopped receiving SMS yet can still send them iMessage works fine in both directions. Is there anything I can do to be able to receive SMS as I am travelling and not always on wifi?
    Thanks

Well, I got it to work (of course, after hours of trying I get it just after posting this).
Here is what I did if anyone else runs into this problem:
    1. Turned on my Apple ID email address for Send & Receive.
    2. Turned off text forwarding on all devices.
    3. Restarted all devices.
    4. Turned text forwarding back on but did not turn off my Apple ID email address.
.... and then it worked. Not thrilled that I need to keep my Apple ID turned on for Send & Receive, but there is my solution.
If anyone has discovered that you don't need your Apple ID turned on to send/receive, please let me know.

  • IPhone 5 no longer receive emails, but can still send emails with yahoo email account. Any ideas to fix?

iPhone 5 with iOS 8.1.2 stopped receiving mail yesterday. Have yahoo email account. Can still send emails. Have turned device off/on. Have done the dual off/on thing using top button and menu button.   Issue seems to be only with main inbox, as sub folders are receiving mail. Other Apple device is not having issues like this, just on iPhone.

Your issue is with the Yahoo email account which is notoriously bad.
you can try deleting and reinstalling the email account.
If that doesn't fix it try the yahoo email app.

What I recommend you try doing first is to turn iMessage off then back on.  If that doesn't work, make sure that your Apple ID and password are correct.  If everything seems correct and you still can't send out messages using iMessage instead of text message, I think you should either try calling AppleCare at 1-800-MY-IPHONE (1-800-694-7466) and/or scheduling an appointment at the Genius Bar at an Apple Store (that is, if there's one close to you).
    Hope this helps!

  • Hypothetical Question... iMessage sent as undelivered text message... Does it still send iMessage?

I sent an iMessage, but it was not delivered as the receiver didn't have wifi or 3/4g coverage at that time, so I sent it as text. However I was out of coverage when I sent as text and was therefore wondering does the iMessage still send?

I had sent it, it just hadn't shown up as delivered to the recipient. I didn't actually want the message to be sent, so I tried to send it as a text in airplane mode in the hope that this would override the iMessage and not send at all.
I tried it with a friend this morning... It still sent as an iMessage when he turned his phone back on.
    Thanks for your help.
